A trio of Queensland property groups have unveiled plans for a $300 million mixed-use redevelopment of the former Noosa Bowls Club site, a proposal that would deliver more than 200 new homes in one of the Sunshine Coast's most supply-constrained markets.

Kilter Property, Frank Developments and Calile Malouf Investments are behind the plans for the 1.8-hectare site at <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/99-noosa-drive-noosa-heads-qld-4567">99 Noosa Drive</a>, which would transform the long-vacant site into a new residential precinct featuring 208 apartments, retail, hospitality and public space.

The proposal comes as Noosa continues to grapple with housing affordability and a shortage of permanent accommodation, particularly for key workers. The site's location in Noosa Junction, close to shops, public transport and employment, aligns with the direction of Noosa Council's Housing Strategy, which encourages higher-density housing within established activity centres rather than continued urban expansion.

The draft plans include 48 affordable-by-design apartments and 48 rooming accommodation units aimed at key workers. Around 2,000 sqm of ground-floor retail and food and beverage space would activate the street frontage, alongside a new public town square and landscaped open space.

Frank Developments Founder and Director Frank Licastro said the development would continue the company's focus on architecturally-led residential projects while addressing one of the region's biggest challenges.

Calile Malouf Investments, best known for its role in Brisbane's James Street precinct and The Calile Hotel, will bring its place-making experience to the project. The company recently commenced construction on The Calile Noosa hotel and says the residential development will complement its growing investment in the region.

CMI Director Cal Malouf said the aim was to create a walkable precinct combining housing, retail and hospitality while remaining true to Noosa's character.

"We see a similar opportunity in Noosa to deliver a vibrant, walkable destination that combines exceptional housing, hospitality and retail in one integrated project," Malouf said.

Brisbane-based Cavill Architects has been appointed to design the project.

Noosa Bowls Club to be redeveloped into mixed-use apartment precinct

One of Brisbane's last major riverfront redevelopment opportunities has taken a significant step forward, with Lendlease selected as the Queensland Government's preferred development partner for the former Visy site in South Brisbane.

The seven-hectare industrial site, positioned between South Bank and West End and 1.3 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, will be transformed into a mixed-use precinct expected to deliver more than 4,000 new homes alongside extensive public open space and riverfront parkland.

The project is one of the largest urban renewal opportunities currently planned in Brisbane and is expected to play a key role in accommodating the city's growing population ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Plans for the precinct include a network of riverfront promenades and boardwalks, new public plazas, parkland, amphitheatre-style gathering spaces and shared pedestrian and cycling links designed to reconnect the long-isolated site with the Brisbane River.

The Queensland Government is targeting delivery of the first homes and key public spaces before the 2032 Games, allowing the precinct to begin contributing new housing and public amenity well before the broader masterplan is complete.

The redevelopment is also expected to support more than 3,000 jobs across planning, construction and ongoing operations.

For Lendlease, the appointment adds another major urban regeneration project to its Queensland portfolio. The developer has operated in the state for more than 70 years and has delivered a number of large-scale mixed-use precincts in partnership with government.

Lendlease Development CEO Claire Johnston said the project represented one of Brisbane's most significant redevelopment opportunities.

"The transformation of the former Visy site represents a rare opportunity to reimagine one of Brisbane's most significant riverfront locations, deliver thousands of much-needed homes, and create long-term legacy," Johnston said.

"In partnership with the Queensland Government, we have the opportunity to create a new riverside destination that will help shape Brisbane's growth and how people experience the city for decades to come.

Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning Jarrod Bleijie said the riverfront transformation would deliver a thriving new community precinct.

“The Crisafulli Government is delivering this golden opportunity to unlock a riverfront jewel for all Queenslanders,” Deputy Premier Bleijie said.

“This is a once-in-a-generation moment to reshape a significant slice of Brisbane and deliver lasting benefits – thousands of new homes, and public spaces for all Queenslanders to enjoy well beyond the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games – unlike Labor’s plan which would have delivered zero benefits and zero new homes.

“Queensland is well and truly open for business and through partnership with the private sector, we are accelerating delivery while ensuring strong housing, community and economic outcomes."

Early works on the precinct are expected to commence in April 2027.

Lendlease selected to deliver transformative South Brisbane riverfront precinct

Eddy Haddad's <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/level-33">Level 33</a> is levelling up its approved Wollongong development, as the coastal city south of Sydney continues to prove popular in the high-density development space.

Level 33, a longtime developer in the Wollongong area, has gone through the NSW Government's Housing Delivery Authority to upsize its approved two-tower development on the corner of Crown Street and Gladstone Avenue, just 100 metres from Wollongong Station.

The developer currently has approval for 252 apartments across two buildings rising to 19 storeys. It is now seeking approval for 33 and 38-storey towers that would deliver 467 apartments, including 67 affordable homes.

Designed by <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/architects/bka-architecture">BKA Architecture</a>, the development would comprise apartments above a three-level podium with around 1,100 sqm of retail space, along with basement parking for 448 vehicles.

According to the Urban Design Report by BKA, the proposal has the capacity to "reinforce the precinct's identity by strengthening links between health, education, and transport services, while also contributing to Wollongong's ongoing evolution as a key regional centre."

Wollongong is somewhat in vogue. Between Level 33 and Urban Property Group, the two developers have several thousand apartments planned across the city.

Level 33 is currently delivering Easterly Wollongong, one of its most boutique projects to date with just 21 high-end apartments, as well as Atchison &amp; Kenny, a 329-apartment development due for completion later this year.

The developer plans to redevelop the 13,088 sqm WIN Grand megasite into <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/crown-square-216-238-keira-street-wollongong-nsw-2500">Crown Square</a>, a new $500 million precinct with nearly 600 apartments. It also has more than 900 apartments planned for the former Bunnings Warehouse site at the intersection of Gipps and Flinders streets.

Urban Property Group is also playing a major role in the city's transformation. Its five-tower Keira Place precinct will deliver more than 800 homes, and it has recently lodged plans for a further 300 apartments near Wollongong Station.

Just a week after filing plans for the final stage of its major Keira Place masterplan, <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/urban-property-group">Urban Property Group</a> has unveiled another significant housing proposal in Wollongong, this time targeting a prominent site opposite North Wollongong Station.

The developer has lodged a State Significant Development Application for a 38-storey mixed-use tower at <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/4-4a-flinders-street-north-wollongong-nsw-2500">4-4A Flinders Street</a>, around one kilometre north of the <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/keira-place-wollongong-120-122-smith-street-wollongong-nsw-2500">Keira Place precinct</a> currently taking shape on the edge of the CBD.

Designed by Studio.SC, the proposal comprises a 38-storey mixed-use development containing 303 apartments, including 45 affordable housing units, alongside 174 co-living residences. The scheme also includes ground-floor retail space, extensive landscaping and public domain improvements.

Studio.SC noted in the proposal it "outlines a vision for a landmark transit-oriented mixed-use development centred around North Wollongong Station, designed to support the city’s future growth while responding to the NSW Government’s housing and planning reforms."

The architecture firm said the proposal responds to the opportunities and constraints shaping future growth within the 400-metre catchment of the station and represents "a coordinated and future-focused approach to urban intensification, contributing to the long-term evolution of North Wollongong as a connected, walkable and high-density station precinct."

The site occupies a strategic corner bounded by Flinders Street, Station Street, Stafford Street and the Princes Highway, directly opposite North Wollongong Station.

The proposal follows Urban Property Group's recent submission for the second and final stage of Keira Place, which would deliver a further three buildings comprising 657 homes opposite Beaton Park. It builds on the first stage, which features 150 apartments across two towers and recently commenced construction.

Urban Property Group CEO Patrick Elias said breaking ground on the first stage marked a significant milestone for Wollongong and reflected the developer's long-term commitment to regional cities.

"Today's groundbreaking is about turning approvals into homes and moving quickly to deliver much-needed housing in Wollongong's city centre," Elias said.

"Keira Place will provide a diverse mix of homes close to jobs, transport and services, while setting a high benchmark for quality, durability and consumer protection."

First look: Urban Property Group plans next major Wollongong tower

<a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/arada">Arada Australia</a> has wasted little time expanding its ambitions in Campsie, lodging plans for a second major project in the rapidly transforming town centre just months after unveiling its three-tower One Campsie proposal on Beamish Street.

The UAE-backed developer has now taken aim at one of the suburb’s most strategically positioned sites, filing a State Significant Development Application for a <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/10-north-parade-campsie-nsw-2194">33-storey mixed-use tower</a> at 10 London Street and 43 North Parade, directly opposite the future Campsie Metro Station. The proposal is currently on public exhibition and represents another significant vote of confidence in Campsie's emergence as one of Sydney’s key transit-oriented growth centres.

Designed by <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/architects/woods-bagot">Woods Bagot</a>, the development would deliver 156 apartments above a podium containing retail and commercial space, creating a new residential and commercial gateway to the town centre. The scheme also includes a four-level above-ground parking podium and a dedicated residential amenity floor featuring wellness and recreation facilities. At least 10 per cent of the apartments would be allocated as affordable housing for a period of 10 years.

The proposal occupies a 1,631 sqm site bounded by London Street, North Parade and Dispensary Lane, immediately adjoining the future Metro station precinct and just metres from Beamish Street’s retail and dining strip. According to the Urban Design Report, the project seeks to deliver "a great place that prioritises human-scaled experience and provides spatial improvements to the area."

Woods Bagot describes the tower as a key marker within Campsie's next phase of growth.

"Located directly opposite the new Campsie Metro Station on North Parade, 10 London Street is a thoughtfully composed 33-storey mixed-use tower that contributes to the ongoing transformation of the town centre," the Architectural Design Report states. The report says the project is intended to provide "high-quality homes within a vibrant, connected urban environment, while helping define Campsie's future skyline."

A strong emphasis has been placed on the public realm. The ground floor incorporates over 500 sqm of retail space and active frontages along both London Street and North Parade, while the podium is wrapped by extensive landscaped planting intended to soften the building's scale and strengthen the pedestrian experience. The development would also widen surrounding footpaths and improve connections between the Metro station and the broader town centre.

Above the podium, residents would have access to more than 1,400 sqm of communal amenities, including a pool, gym and landscaped recreation spaces. A distinctive green-wall treatment extending across four podium levels forms a major architectural feature, helping differentiate the project within the emerging high-density precinct.

The tower's design is closely tied to the broader Campsie Town Centre Master Plan and the arrival of Sydney Metro. The Urban Design Report notes the proposal "directly supports the Campsie Town Centre Master Plan by delivering new homes in a location explicitly identified for growth, improved accessibility, and high-quality urban renewal." It adds that the project contributes to the master plan's vision for a strengthened town centre supported by thousands of new homes around the future Metro station.

Sydney’s property market is known for high prices, competitive bidding, and mounting pressure on first home buyers. But change is on the horizon.

From late 2025, eligible first home buyers in New South Wales will have access to a new federal government initiative aimed at addressing affordability: the Help to Buy Scheme.&nbsp;

<h2>What is the Help to Buy Scheme?</h2>

The program introduces a shared equity model intended to reduce the upfront cost of entering the property market, particularly in high-demand urban areas such as Sydney.

The scheme operates under a shared ownership structure in which the federal government takes an equity stake of up to 40 per cent for new homes, or 30 per cent for existing dwellings. This arrangement allows eligible buyers to significantly reduce their loan size and avoid the added cost of Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI).

Under this model, purchasers can enter the property market with as little as a two per cent deposit, well below the traditional 10 to 20 per cent usually required. The government’s contribution is not a loan but a co-ownership stake in the property. As such, there is no interest or rent charged on its portion.

Because the government’s equity combined with the buyer’s deposit typically meets or exceeds the 20 per cent threshold, LMI does not apply. The remaining balance, generally between 60 and 70 per cent of the property’s value, is financed through a standard home loan with a participating lender.

The government's equity in the property remains in place until the buyer chooses to repay it voluntarily or until the property is sold. Buyers can buy back the government’s share over time, in increments of at least five per cent, depending on their financial situation.

There is no fixed repayment timeline, but the amount to be repaid will be based on the property's market value at the time of repayment, not the original purchase price.

<h2>How do you qualify for the&nbsp;Help to Buy Scheme?</h2>

To qualify for the Help to Buy Scheme, applicants must meet the following conditions:

Developer M3 Group identified Reservoir, the growing suburb 12 kilometres north of Melbourne, as a prime location for their latest collection of contemporary townhouses.

They honed in on a pocket near Ruthven Station, on the fringe of the Reservoir activity centre as well as a stone's throw to Bundoora Park Public Golf Course, where they secured a number of development sites for three new townhouse projects.

Simply named after their street name, <a href="/buildings/48-dundee-st-by-m3-group-48-dundee-street-reservoir">48 Dundee Street</a>, <a href="/buildings/69-hickford-st-by-m3-group-69-hickford-street-reservoir">69 Hickford Street</a> and <a href="/buildings/158-purinuan-rd-by-m3-group-158-purinuan-road-reservoir">158 Purinuan Road</a>, the trio of townhouse collection sit with a few hundred metres of each other.

Renowned Perth developer Edge Visionary Living&nbsp;is witnessing an unprecedented surge in penthouse sales across its luxury waterfront apartment portfolio in Western Australia.&nbsp;

Within the past quarter alone, <a href="/developers/edge-visionary-living">Edge</a>&nbsp;has seen remarkable traction with the sale of two sub-penthouses and three penthouses, collectively valued at $36 million.

The highest sale came from their&nbsp;<a href="/developments/scarborough-wa-6019">Scarborough</a>&nbsp;apartment development&nbsp;<a href="/new-apartments/the-dunes-beachfront-residences-scarborough-1-reserve-street-scarborough-wa-6019">The Dunes Beachfront Residences</a>, where they secured a $12.5 million buyer for the 809 sqm penthouse crowning one of the two beachfront buildings, setting a new residential price record in the process.

The redevelopment of the heart of Main Beach on the Gold Coast looks set to continue with one of the streets best trophy assets hitting the market.

Listed for the first in nearly a decade is eight of the 10 lots in <a href="/new-apartments/main-beach-qld-4217">Main Beach</a> Plaza, at 20-22 Tedder Avenue, which are being sold under the hammer by Harcourts Coast Commercial Directors Jared Johnson and Lachlan Marshall.

The property has already generated strong interest from investors and developers.

Johnson said that an opportunity on Tedder Avenue like this comes once in a generation.

“Tedder Avenue has historically been regarded as one of the most tightly held, affluent retail catchments on the Gold Coast," Johnson said.

"Main Beach is booming, currently benefitting from a high-density collection of luxury residential developments. The property has substantial rental, repositioning, and obvious future development upside.”

Blue-chip Tedder Avenue asset to sell with development upside in Main Beach

Off the plan apartment sales continued to flow in the Gold Coast at the back end of last year, with the latest data from Urbis reporting 236 apartment sales in Q4 2023.

<a href="/new-apartments/gold-coast-qld">Gold Coast</a> Central Precinct remained the city’s most active precinct, with the highest number of apartment sales achieved in the $500 million <a href="/new-apartments/vista-surfers-paradise-26-vista-street-surfers-paradise">Vista</a> residential tower in Surfers Paradise, being developed by the&nbsp;Malaysian conglomerate <a href="/developers/mrcb">MRCB</a>.

A total of 46 apartments were sold in Vista for a total value of more than $60 million at an average weighted sale price of $1.434 million. The number of sales was almost twice the number of the next best performing project, Marina Point at Hope Island.

Marina Point secured 26 apartment sales, at an average price of $1.4 million, while Morris Property's&nbsp;<a href="/new-apartments/crest-broadbeach-13-armrick-avenue-broadbeach">Crest Broadbeach</a>&nbsp;saw 25 sales at an average $1,089,000.

Mosaic's luxury <a href="/new-apartments/isabel-by-mosaic-96-the-esplanade-burleigh-heads">Isabel project on the Burleigh Heads beachside</a> was fourth with an average sale price of $3.8 million.

Urbis director Paul Riga said the sales showed a continued strong demand for apartments across the Gold Coast, particularly along the traditional beachside strip between <a href="/developments/surfers-paradise-qld-4217">Surfers Paradise</a>, <a href="/new-apartments/broadbeach-qld-4218">Broadbeach</a>, and <a href="/new-apartments/burleigh-heads-qld-4220">Burleigh Heads</a>.

“We’re seeing consistent sales results being achieved along the Gold Coast despite the current interest rate environment, and we think this reflects a solid level of local buyer interest as well as the continued migration from the southern states and those downsizing from existing homes into apartment living,” said Mr. Riga.

The Q4 data is consistent with the 288 sales in Q1 2023 and 211 in Q2. There was a sales spike in Q3 when there were 470 sales.

Riga said rising construction costs, which were impacting the viability of projects, had constrained supply but those with the delivery capability and experience to take projects to the market and construct were continuing to launch new projects.

Vista has been a standout performer in the Gold Coast market with almost half of the 280 apartments in the project sold for a total value of $170 million.

Vista sales agent Matt George, who heads the national agency Urban Activation which sells high-end projects across Australia, said the sales in Vista reflected a ‘flight to quality’.

“Buyers are more aware and searching for well-funded developers undertaking well-finished high-quality projects in good locations near the beach with a guaranteed commencement of construction and delivery by a tier one builder,” George said.

“The developers of Vista are a solid multi-national company with a large balance sheet and the project they have introduced in Vista is of premium quality, designed by renowned local architects DBI.

“These factors have certainly come to the fore over the last 12 to 18 months.”

Gold Coast apartment sales remain strong as Vista Surfers Paradise and Crest Broadbeach stand out

The Gold Coast off the plan apartment market is expected to have another strong year, anecdotal feedback from local agents paired with data from Australia’s largest dedicated off the plan property website suggests.

Research collected by MatterFact, the new data product from Apartments.com.au who have hundreds of thousands of prospective off the plan apartment buyers visit their platform each month, shows there was consistent enquiry volumes throughout 2022 and 2023 on the <a href="/new-apartments/gold-coast-qld">Gold Coast</a>, despite the much-publicized lack of available stock for buyers to choose from.

Apartments.com.au CEO Mike Bird says, “he was surprised when analysing the numbers given the lack of new projects being launched to the market”.

Apartments.com.au surveyed its user base in Gold Coast, digging deeper into what the barriers are for them to purchase.

The overarching response was a lack of trust in the developer or the builder. Over two-thirds of respondents said they didn’t know if they could trust the two biggest stakeholders in the project.&nbsp;

The next two biggest barriers were also both tied to the builder. 60 per cent of respondents also said a barrier to purchase was the uncertainty of move-in timelines, while half of the respondents said they were concerned with what the build quality would be like come completion.

“These are fairly common concerns statewide when it comes to buying an off-the-plan apartment,” Bird says, however, he adds that the concern is more exacerbated in the Gold Coast than anywhere else in the country.

“There needs to be full confidence now in every stakeholder in the project. The first or second question from the prospective buyer isn’t related at all to the apartment they’re purchasing, it’s related to the developer and the builder.&nbsp;

The latest research was presented the&nbsp;<a href="/project-marketer/colliers">Colliers Residential</a> developers’ lunch on the Gold Coast in late February. &nbsp;David Higgins Director of Residential who hosts the function, says the chronic undersupply on the Gold Coast that has been getting worse for years and with a drop in confidence in builders and developers unable to deliver the much-needed supply only adds to the problem.

"It seems the lack of trust of builder-developer is the number one current issue with off the plan buyers, in fact, it’s almost now secondary to be sold on the apartment configuration or the price, the buyer needs to be sold on the fact the project will be built, and to a high quality.”

“The positive for the market is that Builders and Developers who can demonstrate certainty, and have earned the trust of the buyer, will be supported by strong buyer ongoing demand from both the end user and investors”. Higgins added.

Less than a third of respondents said a barrier to entry was finding value for money in the market, which is incredibly surprising given the Gold Coast’s boom in recent years.

Despite there being very little to choose from in terms of marketed projects on the Gold Coast, only a quarter of respondents said they were struggling to find an apartment that fit their needs.

Bird said that where in other states price and product mix are huge barriers to entry, that doesn’t seem to be the issue in the Gold Coast.

"It’s purely related to developer and builder confidence. If the market can find a way to fix that, and more projects can get out of the ground, then the market could pop again.”

Chevron Island's village lifestyle is drawing both developers and buyers to the small island directly inland of Surfers Paradise.

The latest developer to take advantage of the in-demand suburb is&nbsp;<a href="/developers/bastion">Bastion</a>, whose new $90 million&nbsp;<a href="/new-apartments/nera-residences-chevron-island-8-10-parneno-street-chevron-island">NERA Residences</a>&nbsp;will take up position toward the northern end of the island at 8-10 Parneno Street, just two streets away from the high street strip of Thomas Drive.

Thomas Drive hosts a variety of boutique retailers, highly-rated restaurants, and cafes, including Curry Muncher, Wagyu-Ya, Arlo's Pizzeria, Casa Brasil, The Balkan Est, and The Noodle House. Thomas Drive is also the main thoroughfare through Chevron Island, a bridge to <a href="/new-apartments/surfers-paradise-qld-4217">Surfers Paradise</a> to the east and <a href="/developments/southport-qld-4215">Southport</a> to the west.

Alderley, the quiet suburb north of Brisbane, is set for a rare injection of new apartments with the upcoming launch of Breathe Residences.

The boutique project is being developed by joint venture partners <a href="/developers/capital-prudential">Capital Prudential</a>, who are behind the recently released Noosa townhouse development JURA Noosa, and the architecturally-driven property developer <a href="/developers/guavalime">Guavalime</a>.

<a href="/new-apartments/breathe-residences-alderley-27-lorne-street-alderley-qld">Breathe Residences</a> occupies a prime site at 27 Lorne Street, ideally located across the road from <a href="/developments/alderley-qld-4051">Alderley</a> Station and its surrounding amenity.

<a href="/architects/loucas-architects">Loucas Architects</a> designed Breathe Residences, capturing modern Australian design. The central concept focuses on the building’s "lungs" – a garden courtyard at the core, surrounded by pathways promoting mobility, connections, and peaceful moments within the gardens.

Inside, the apartments feature exposed concrete ceilings in the living area, while balconies or outdoor rooms feature built-in bench seats and planter boxes, extending living spaces outdoors while offering opportunities for relaxation and greenery.

The kitchen is finished with reconstituted stone benchtops and kitted with Bosch appliances, including induction cooktops.

Local builder&nbsp;<a href="/builders/geocal-group">Geocal Group</a> has already been appointed to build Breathe Residences, which is expected to officially launch soon through Position Property.

Alderley to receive new apartment injection as Breathe Residences approaches launch

After successfully selling down a number of apartments off market, Orb Property Partners has hit the go button on WOBO, in the North Melbourne Tapestry precinct which is set to be a game changer for the area.

WOBO, designed by <a href="/architects/fk-australia">Fender Katsilidis</a>, is part of the first stage of Tapestry, the 1.4-hectare lifestyle-led project bounded by Alfred Street and Boundary Road.

<a href="/new-apartments/wobo-north-melbourne-103-105-boundary-road-north-melbourne">WOBO</a> will comprise&nbsp;99 one, two and three-bedroom warehouse-style apartments. All one-beds have already been snapped up, leaving two and three-bedrooms starting from $590,000.

<a href="/developers/orb-property-partners">Orb Property Partners</a> Director David Wardlaw said it had been a long hard road to getting the project live, having initially bought the site well over a decade ago.

"The philosophy was to make a community-focused precinct which would bring in a diverse mix of residents, from frontline workers to young families and downsizers," Wardlaw said.

"We looked at some of the best lifestyle precincts in the world, from the US to Europe, and tried to create something similar in Melbourne, far and above what's come before."

There was a conscious effort during the design and development phase from Orb and FK to cater for families, who Wardlaw says aren't really catered for in the modern day apartment developments.

"We tried to encourage a family lifestyle, with larger apartments crafted with dedicated kids zones. We want families to be integrated with the community."

The precinct will feature significant communal facilities in the form of a sustainable wellness centre, fresh food marketplace, co-working spaces, alfresco areas, and the Private Members Lounge complete with a central fireplace and&nbsp;modular lounges, designed to bring the residents of WOBO together.

The ground level will be activated with everything a resident could need, with premium retail, cafes and restaurants, as well as a bar, bakery, hairdressers, beauty salon and a medical centre.

The apartments merge the industrial heritage of <a href="/new-apartments/north-melbourne-vic-3051">North Melbourne</a> with the cool, loft-style living of New York.&nbsp; Living spaces are framed by white oak, while timber floors lie under foot, with exposed concrete ceilings above.

Light and bright kitchens of refined joinery, premium SMEG appliances and natural stone benchtops connect to bathrooms, fitted with future-retro style fluted glass and bronze finishes.

Part of the design brief was for the apartments to have sustainability benefits.

There's solar panels on the rooftops, a state of the art organic energy plant in the precinct, electric vehicle shares cars, and the retail and hospitality venues will be waste free.

<a href="/project-marketer/projects-by-buxton">Projects by Buxton</a> Director Heath Thompson says Tapestry will be the&nbsp;preeminent hub of North Melbourne when it’s completed in 2026, with a community-led precinct at its core.

"We're seeing a complete suite of demographics, with investors, slightly older first home buyers, and families all showing interest," Thompson says.

"We anticipate there to be some regional buyers who are looking for a city bolthole, as well as those on the fringes of Melbourne like Seddon and Footscray. It will have a broad appeal."

Genuine prospective buyers at WOBO can walk around the floorplans in real life at the nearby Big Plans warehouse space, which allows buyers to literally walk around the apartment they're looking at buying, with the floorplan projected onto the floor. Furniture on wheels allows buyers to get a true sense as to how they would live in the apartments.

Demolition on site is expected to be complete toward Q2 2024, with construction to kick off soon after. Completion is slated for early 2026.
