A long-stalled Campbelltown development site is back in play, with new plans for 139 apartments set to supersede a mixed-use scheme approved almost a decade ago but never built.

The new proposal for 28 Cordeaux Street would deliver 116 market and 23 affordable apartments in a part 14-storey building, bringing a substantial new project into a Campbelltown market where new apartment supply remains limited.

Plans have been filed over the 3,092 sqm corner site at Moore-Oxley Street, around 600 metres from Campbelltown Railway Station and the city-centre retail core.

The site already carries a mixed-use residential approval dating to 2016. Doroch Architects has now been engaged on a larger replacement scheme, which is progressing as a State Significant Development Application following a Housing Delivery Authority determination in August 2025.

The apartment mix comprises 39 one-bedroom, 72 two-bedroom and 28 three-bedroom residences. Two-bedroom apartments make up just over half of the project, while three-bedroom homes account for 20 per cent.

Of the 139 apartments, 23 will be delivered as affordable housing under the in-fill affordable housing provisions of the Housing SEPP. The affordable component represents 15 per cent of the residential gross floor area and will be managed by a registered Community Housing Provider.

Doroch has sought to break the scale of the building into two distinct elements, with a masonry podium of around four storeys establishing the street edge before the residential tower steps back above.

The corner position has shaped that approach. Cordeaux Street faces toward the commercial and civic centre, while Moore-Oxley Street leads into the lower-scale residential neighbourhood to the south, and the design verification report describes the site as "bridging the commercial core to the north and established residential areas to the south."

The podium will be expressed predominantly in face brick, while the upper levels shift to brushed and grooved concrete cladding with darker metal detailing. Recessed sections, deep balcony edges and landscaping break down the upper form, with an approximately 11.8-metre setback to the northern boundary addressing the adjoining St Peters Anglican School.

Queensland builder-developer MAYD has revealed the first look at its major North Kirra beachfront development, lodging amended plans that reduce the number of apartments and increase the proportion of larger residences.

The project is planned across a substantial 4,742 sqm amalgamated site spanning seven lots at <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/2-6-pacific-parade-bilinga-qld-4225">2-6 Pacific Parade</a> and 27-33 Golden Four Drive in Bilin​ga, directly opposite Nor​th Kirra Beach.

<a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/mayd-group">MAYD</a> secured the site for $32.5 million in 2025, in what was one of the Gold Coast's largest property transactions of the year.

The development will be delivered across two stages, with the first stage carrying an estimated gross realisation value of around $360 million.

The latest amendments seek to reduce the overall apartment count and shift the project further toward the owner-occupier market, with larger residences designed for buyers wanting considerably more space than traditionally offered in a beachfront apartment.

The residential mix will include townhomes, oversized two-bedroom apartments, substantial three-bedroom residences and four-bedroom homes.

MAYD has appointed Cera Stribley to lead the architecture and interiors, with the Melbourne-based design practice drawing on the beachfront setting through a series of ocean-facing terraces and heavily landscaped balconies.

Strong horizontal forms and curved balconies will define the exterior, with subtropical landscaping integrated throughout the building to soften the built form and increase the connection between the residences and the beachfront.

The project will also include an extensive collection of resident wellness and lifestyle facilities, continuing the broader shift across the Gold Coast's luxury apartment market toward larger homes supported by resort-style amenity.

MAYD Founder Todd Mould said North Kirra was increasingly appealing to buyers attracted to the more established, lower-density character of the southern Gold Coast.

"North Kirra presents one of the most compelling luxury residential opportunities currently emerging in Australia, combining absolute beachfront with the character and authenticity that buyers are increasingly seeking, and the same sense of tight-knit community that defined Burleigh and Currumbin perhaps 10 or 15 years ago," Mould said.

"With Gold Coast Airport on its doorstep, it also offers a level of accessibility that broadens its appeal across almost every market demographic."

The project comes as the southern Gold Coast continues to attract an increasing share of high-end apartment development and buyer activity.

Kirra in particular has emerged as one of the region's more tightly held beachfront markets, with its relatively low-density character, established surf and hospitality scene and proximity to Gold Coast Airport differentiating it from the higher-density markets further north.

Mould said those characteristics had informed the approach MAYD and Cera Stribley had taken to the project.

"We've worked closely with Cera Stribley to create a vision that is deeply connected to its surroundings," he said.

"Inspired by the coastline itself, the architecture has been shaped around space, privacy and resort-style living, creating a collection of homes that reflects the next generation of luxury on the southern Gold Coast."

MOTIV Managing Director Carly Cottam, who has been appointed to market the project, said buyer attention had continued to move south along the Gold Coast.

"Purchasers who may once have defaulted to Broadbeach, Main Beach or Surfers Paradise are increasingly recognising the value of a genuine beachfront location that offers lower density, strong amenity and a more established sense of community," Cottam said.

"Kirra has a powerful combination of growing demand and genuine scarcity. Beachfront supply is inherently constrained, the area remains relatively low density, and buyers are increasingly placing a premium on locations that feel established, uncrowded and authentic rather than heavily developed."

Cottam said the proximity to Gold Coast Airport was also proving increasingly important for interstate and second-home buyers.

"Being minutes from Gold Coast Airport makes it particularly compelling for interstate buyers, frequent travellers and second-home purchasers who can access an authentic coastal lifestyle almost immediately after stepping off a flight."

The acquisition takes MAYD's active development portfolio to more than $500 million, with the North Kirra project representing one of its largest undertakings to date.

Castle Hill, the longtime hub of the Hills District, has been one of the major beneficiaries of Sydney's Metro expansion, with improved connectivity helping drive continued population growth, development and buyer demand across the Hills District.

But despite that growth, the suburb has seen relatively few major new apartment projects brought to market over the past 18 months.

Nova Rêve also represents a significant step up from the family's first apartment development, Grand Rêve, which was delivered nearby on Garthowen Crescent.

Nova Rêve takes that approach to a precinct scale, combining the residential component with hospitality, retail and substantial public and resident landscaping.

Reve Group Managing Director Sam Kassis said the project reflected the family's three decades of building in the Hills, which has evolved from trophy homes on quarter-acre blocks to larger-scale apartment development.

"Grand Rêve was our first apartment project here and it showed us what this pocket of Castle Hill could be. Nova Rêve is the refinement of that idea: not just apartments, but a place the whole suburb can use," Kassis said.

A key part of that approach is the hotel, which has been designed to operate as an amenity for the wider Castle Hill community rather than solely hotel guests.

It will include restaurants, cafes, skybars and all-day dining, alongside conference and event facilities catering to business functions, community groups and private events.

At ground level, more than 1,600 sqm of shops and cafes will open onto the surrounding streets and landscaped areas.

Almost an acre of gardens designed by Land and Form Studios will run through the precinct, incorporating pathways, seating, barbecue areas and children's play spaces.

Reve Group's Romio Georges said creating an active ground plane had been central to the planning of Nova Rêve.

"There are gardens with pathways, barbecues, seating and play areas, shops and cafes opening onto the street, and a hotel with restaurants and a skybar that anyone in Castle Hill can walk into," Georges said.

The project's elevated position on one of Sydney's highest ridgelines will also provide apartments with outlooks toward the Sydney skyline, surrounding parkland and the Blue Mountains.

More than 80 per cent of the apartments will occupy corner positions, with Turner responsible for both the architecture and interiors.

From late 2025, eligible first home buyers in New South Wales will have access to a new federal government initiative aimed at addressing affordability: the Help to Buy Scheme.&nbsp;

<h2>What is the Help to Buy Scheme?</h2>

The program introduces a shared equity model intended to reduce the upfront cost of entering the property market, particularly in high-demand urban areas such as Sydney.

The scheme operates under a shared ownership structure in which the federal government takes an equity stake of up to 40 per cent for new homes, or 30 per cent for existing dwellings. This arrangement allows eligible buyers to significantly reduce their loan size and avoid the added cost of Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI).

Under this model, purchasers can enter the property market with as little as a two per cent deposit, well below the traditional 10 to 20 per cent usually required. The government’s contribution is not a loan but a co-ownership stake in the property. As such, there is no interest or rent charged on its portion.

Because the government’s equity combined with the buyer’s deposit typically meets or exceeds the 20 per cent threshold, LMI does not apply. The remaining balance, generally between 60 and 70 per cent of the property’s value, is financed through a standard home loan with a participating lender.

The government's equity in the property remains in place until the buyer chooses to repay it voluntarily or until the property is sold. Buyers can buy back the government’s share over time, in increments of at least five per cent, depending on their financial situation.

There is no fixed repayment timeline, but the amount to be repaid will be based on the property's market value at the time of repayment, not the original purchase price.

<h2>How do you qualify for the&nbsp;Help to Buy Scheme?</h2>

To qualify for the Help to Buy Scheme, applicants must meet the following conditions:

Off-the-plan property explained: What is stamp duty?

A NSW inquiry into building company collapses has recommended the adoption of Queensland-style regulatory model, including the establishment of a construction industry trust to ensure sub-contractors get paid first should a construction company collapse.
The trust would hold all payments due to a head contractor, sub-contractors, sub-subcontractors and suppliers and be required for all projects valued above $1 million. Sub-contractors would be paid first before head contractors while there would be “no point at which the funds may be ‘scooped’ by the bank.
The final report prepared by Bruce Collins, QC, also recommends the creation of a single statutory and autonomous body, the NSW Building and Construction Authority, modelled along the lines of the Queensland Building Services Authority, which would undertake all of the administrative oversight, regulatory and operational responsibilities currently undertaken by different regulatory bodies.
Under the current system of regulation in NSW, the Office of Fair Trading deals with the regulation of contracting and industry licensing, policy is created by the Building Regulations Advisory Council (BRAC) and disputes handled by the Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal (CTTT).
In all, there are 44 recommendations made by Bruce Collins, QC in his lengthy, final report following a three month independent inquiry.
Other recommendations include a strengthened security of payments scheme and a licensing system for all commercial builders and construction contractors, which would limit participation to projects with demonstrated financial backing and licensed accreditation.
“The first key role of the NSW Building and Construction Commission will be to establish a licensing system which requires all builders and construction contractors operating in the commercial building sector to qualify within a particular graduated licence category according to the net financial backing they are able to demonstrate, in respect of proposed projects,” says Collins.
“The result will be that the work of builders and construction contractors will be restricted to the category of project value for which they have demonstrated financial backing and licenced accreditation.”
The second key role of the proposed new commission would be the financial monitoring and auditing of the accounts and financial affairs of all builders and contractors in NSW, including a “formal set of standard financial and accounting requirements”.
Collins notes in his introduction, that it is “rare to find unanimity upon any issue in a chattering society such as ours, however all those who gave evidence to the Inquiry from all sections of the industry with the exception of the Housing Industry Association (HIA) agreed that it was an essential part of any reform package to bring in a licensing model and regulatory structure along the Queensland lines”.
He notes that the HIA’s views on the Queensland model are “largely shaped by the opposition to the insurance role being included in the model”.
In its submission to the inquiry, the HIA claims the “Queensland Building Services Authority (QBSA) is fundamentally flawed” and says its various functions should be separated.
“The QBSA’s one-stop-shop structure with its multiple functions creates significant opportunities for internal conflicts of interest thereby exposing both the customers of the building industry and licensees to unjust outcomes from their dealings with the Authority,” says the HIA.
Instead, the HIA recommends the creation of a policy body that can take a “whole of government” approach to regulation of the industry.
The establishment of the NSW Building and Construction Authority has the support of the NSW Building Professionals Board, the Master Builders Association and the Building Regulations Advisory Council among others.
The building industry inquiry was instigated by NSW finance minister Greg Pearce in August last year, following the rising number of construction company collapses over the last three years which is estimated to have left thousands of suppliers and subcontractors more than $1 billion out-of-pocket.
High-profile <a target="_blank" href="https://www.propertyobserver.com.au/industry-news/liquidator-appointed-for-collapsed-nsw-builder-reed-construction/2012071155520">building firm collapses</a> last year included Reed Construction, 100-year old firm Kell &amp; Rigby, St Hilliers Construction, Baseline Constructions and <a target="_blank" href="https://www.propertyobserver.com.au/industry-news/nahas-construction-latest-aussie-home-builder-to-enter-administration/2012112057964">Nahas Construction</a>.
“The Queensland model presents the only solution to the problem of preventing insolvency in the first place.  The construction trust is important because it operates in a remedial manner after insolvency has begun to cause its problems,” says Collins.
“The inquiry cannot place too much emphasis upon that vital conclusion,” he adds.
“The most effective way to ensure a healthy industry is to ensure the healthy condition of those who aspire to participate in the industry.  That is what is done in Queensland and it is there that it has had its effect upon reducing the number of disastrous insolvencies in the building and construction industry."

“We now need to carefully work through the reforms in consultation with those stakeholders and the public,” commented NSW finance minister Greg Pearce following its release.
The NSW government has prepared separate consultation papers on <a target="_blank" href="https://www.services.nsw.gov.au/updates/independent-inquiry-construction-industry-insolvency">statutory construction trusts and the licensing of commercial builders</a>, which are available for public consultation by February 21.

NSW building inquiry recommends construction trusts to protect sub-contractors

The tallest residential tower in western Sydney – at 30 storeys high – is to be known as One Australia Avenue and is located in Sydney Olympic Park.

The elliptical glass-walled building will have bronze-coloured bands wrapped around its façade and will be surrounded by 430-hecatres of parklands.

One Australia Avenue is the third and final building in the Australia Tower trilogy, jointly developed by Ecove and SOPA.

It will boast a sky-high roof garden and a podium on street level will contain a gymnasium and 16 retail and commercial spaces.

The low-rise podium will link between Ecove and SOPA’s <a target="_blank" href="https://www.propertyobserver.com.au/developments/about-40-of-olympic-park-s-atii-tower-sold-soon-after-marketing-starting-gun-sounds/2012050254525">Australia Tower II</a> and One Australia Avenue.

One Australia Avenue will also have deep slots cut into the tower to maximise natural light.

It will comprise of 300 apartments – ranging from one to four bedrooms – with four colour schemes for buyers to choose from.

The apartments will boast a designer stone kitchen and full height glass doors that open onto the balcony.

One-bedroom apartments range from $480,000 to $690,000 and range in size from 52 square metres to 65 square metres.

Two-bedroom apartments range from $575,000 to $845,000 and range in size from 70 square metres to 95 square metres.

One Australia Avenue will be 120 metres above sea level – about 106 metres of actual building height.
Construction has commenced on Australia One Avenue with a scheduled completion in mid-2015.

Ecove estimates that strata levies will be low – due to the sport and recreational facilities offered in Sydney Olympic Park - estimating them to be $600 to $750 for a one-bedroom, $800 to $1,000 for a two-bedroom, and $1,200 to $1,500 for a three of four-bedroom apartment, per quarter..

Sydney Olympic Park hosts the majority of Sydney’s major sporting, entertainment and corporate events.

The tallest residential tower in western Sydney - One Australia Avenue

Late last year TCI Teneketzis successfully sold 420 Spencer St, a site subject to a variety of proposals whilst also attracting local residents and heritage group discontent. As billboards onsite and the <a href="http://www.tciproperty.com/properties/commercial/Land+Development-Vic-West+Melbourne-500569279" target="_blank">agents website shows</a>, the site has been purchased as a joint venture, increasing the likelihood that the tower in its current approved form will become reality. Early February has seen the arrival of new signage onsite showing ACC Development intend to proceed with the redevelopment soon. The currently approved design is a 32 level tower produced by Fender Katsilidis architects consisting of 432 apartments above 8 retail/commercial tenancies found through the podium which covers the approximately 2250sqm site. The 1930 art deco facade will be restored and incorporated into the tower, with internals facing demolition to allow for a 3 level basement carpark and subsequent works.

Of interest is the vacant lot addressed 404-418 Spencer St (seen above) directly south of 420 Spencer St. Given that the approved 32 level/104.6m 420 Spencer St and the proposed 41 level/134m 371 Spencer St diagonally opposite (renders below) have pushed the boundaries for height and density in the area, the vacant 404-418 Spencer St seemingly has the potential to yield another substantial tower. This vacant site was once subject to a ten level office complex designed by Rothe Lowman but as time and planning have progressed it seems a 30-40 level tower is in the offing - although that's merely speculation on the authors behalf.

420 Spencer St edges closer to reality

One of Gold Coast's most exclusive residential offerings – the riverfront Southport mansion Alston – has been sold for $9.8 million.
The price benchmark was set two doors away last June, when $9.5 million was paid for the former Quinlivan home when sold to the semi-retired cotton farmer Ted Hadley.
Alston, an European-style house, went to weekend auction through John Natoli and James Ledgerwood of <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow" href="https://www.propertyobserver.com.au/https://www.mcgrath.com.au/buy/house-southport-qld-4215/168449">McGrath Broadbeach</a> under instructions by Grant Sparks and Craig Ticehurst of PPB Advisory.
"Buyers are now starting to see the opportunities and value and are therefore starting to shop again with some renewed confidence," John Natoli told Property Observer.
The 3,442 square metres of land Alston sits on was bought from split-cycle engine inventor Rick Mayne for $2.35 million in 1998.
Completed in 2010, Alston boats six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and seven fireplaces spaced over 2,225-square metres of floor area.
“The second you step into this property it is more than obvious that the quality of design, inclusions and meticulous attention to detail positions this very special home as one of world-class standing,” the McGrath marketing.
Alston is fenced with exclusive mansions of Riverina Marine founder Bill Barry-Cotter to the south and former V8 supercar executive chairman Tony Cochrane to the north.
“This dress circle riverfront address is one of the Gold Coast’s premier enclaves and has been tightly held and rarely available,” the marketing said.
Caught in the long downturn, it was in July 2011 that Spottiswood listed Alston without success with $20 million price expectations through Christies International.
In February this year Spottiswood was still holding out for a buyer.
Bidding opened at its weekend auction at $7.5 million with transport company owner Peter Smith the reported buyer, according to the Gold Coast Bulletin. But a subsequent report by the Australian Financial Review gave the buyer as the semi-retired cotton farmer Ted Hadley, but he was the official buyer of the Quinlivan property in June last year. The Bulletin reported the opening bidding and eventual under-bidder was reportedly David Baird, an entrepreneurial investor from Cronin Island.
There was a  third contender who made just the one bid of $8.5 million.
The Bulletin noted the successful $9.8 million bid was lodged by phone via lawyer Geoff Wockner. Mr Wockner would not reveal the name the buyer to the Gold Coast Bulletin and neither John Natoli or James Ledgerwood confirmed its buyer. John Natoli says the fact there were three bidders and all were prepared to pay at least $8.5 million was a great sign. "It's a very encouraging way for the top end of the market to start 2013."

Graham Spottiswood's Alston at Southport sells for $9.8 million

"This is an opportunity for Victoria University to consolidate and express its dedicated and symbolic presence within the historic surrounding of the former Royal Mint precinct and the greater context of the Melbourne central city." With those words, Daryl Jackson and his firm Jackson Architecture have teamed with Victoria University in order to bring a consolidated VU campus to the Hoddle Grid. <a href="http://www.jacksonarchitecture.com.au/#/projects/vu-queen-street-campus/" target="_blank">Jackson Architecture</a> is currently carrying masterplan images of an expanded Victoria University campus on Queen St, straddling either side of Little Lonsdale. The images below show a refurbished lowrise campus facility sitting in behind the historic former Records Office and Land Titles Office. Whilst no planning application has yet been submitted for the potential lowrise development, an initial application for the highrise or 'vertical campus' was submitted during March 2012.

Further, at the behest of planning officials from the Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) and coupled with heritage issues relating to the existing 1908 Women's VD Clinic building, a revised planning document was submitted for VU Tower, addressed 364-370 &amp; 372-378 Little Lonsdale St. The early 2012 design has been superseeded by an edgier, more aesthetically pleasing tower that retains the historic Women's VD Clinic facade, whilst still calling for demolition of the adjoining TB Clinic.
 
Visual differentiations to the early 2012 submission include rooftop solar panels, a new and repositioned Sampson Lane (the current Lane making way for underground carpark works), a folded concrete feature running the length of the south-east facade, angled vents at both plant levels 17 and crown (somewhat similar in looks to the new NAB building at 700 Bourke St), a doubled-skinned facade plus a remodelled north east aspect that interacts with the nearby Repiblic Tower. Directly to the tower's west lies La Banque apartments, in addressing its westerly neighbour the architect has introduced a podium at equal height to La Banque's and a podium setback for the tower itself. Further, precast panels and opaque west facing windows are incorporated while a minimum 9m separation distance is maintained where required.
 
With the new application submitted 21st December 2012, the redesigned tower if approved would stand at 135m above four levels of sub ground parking. At ground would consist of a revamped Sampson Lane, security &amp; reception areas, loading docks, carpark entry and foyer. Level 1 hosts a mezzanine cafe, levels 2 &amp; 3 a library, level 4 a lecture theatre while levels 5 &amp; 6 host plant room and podium facilities. Thereafter levels 7-16 are dedicated academic space, 17 a further plant level while levels 18-30 consist of approximately 11,350sqm of office space. Gross floor area for the tower would be 42679sqm whilst net floor area or usable space would touch on 27075sqm.
 
Jackson Architect's website indicates that once a planning permit has been granted, VUT will actively seek a partner to bring this tower to fruition rather than fund the tower individually. Tower development costs at this time are expected to be roughly $85 million and take 3-4 years to complete once a permit has been issued, potentially making it and the mooted lowrise expansion ready for use jointly. VU Queen St set for expansion

Buoyed by its multi-billion dollar resource projects, Darwin ranks as the strongest property market in Australia with strengthening buyer activity and exceptionally high demand for houses recorded in the final quarter of 2012.
There were 825 property sales recorded over the quarter totalling $414.3 million, a 14% increase on the volume of sales in the September quarter where there were 732 transactions, totalling $364.8 million, according to a new report by Colliers International.
“In the December quarter the median house price was recorded at $600,000 and it was found that in Darwin 43 % of all house sales were recorded between $500,000 and $600,000” says Colliers International analyst Lianna Georges and author of the latest Darwin Residential report.
Rents also rose “substantially” over 2012 with average rental rates now around $700 per week for a three-bedroom house and $550 per week for a two-bedroom unit, “making Darwin very appealing to investors”.
However, Colliers also notes that the increased rental rates have pushed up the cost of living in Darwin and may "place home-ownership out of reach for young locals”.
Georges warns that a lack of affordable housing will remain a key issue for 2013 with minimal stock priced under $600,000, while changes to Northern Territory government incentives, could potentially affect home ownership.
“The previous First Home Buyers scheme included no stamp-duty up to a threshold of $540,000, a $7,000 grant to first home buyers and the addition of the $10,000 Build Bonus Grant for new dwellings. These incentives have been replaced by a new $25,000 First Home Buyers grant for the purchase of a new dwelling, or a $12,000 grant for an existing dwelling; although home buyers are now liable to pay for stamp-duty on their first home,” explains Georges.
A search on realestate.com.au for properties under $600,000 reveals no free-standing houses among the 197 properties listed under this threshold, with two and three-bedroom units dominating listings under this limit.
<a target="_blank" href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-nt-darwin-112524147">A four-bedroom house and land package</a> is offered at $640,000 through Helen Saunders of KRK Properties – Mandurah, but does not disclose the address with the more than half of the listing devoted to describing the billion dollar liquefied natural gas projects in the pipeline or underway in and around Darwin.
According to RP Data, Darwin values for the year to December increased by 11.7 %, far surpassing Sydney where a 2.5% increase in house prices was recorded.
The unit market continued to record steady sales growth in the December quarter and offered a more affordable housing option for first-home buyers.
Over the course of 2012, the strongest price band for unit sales was $400,000 to $500,000 comprising 31% of all unit sales.
Georges says that as 2013 unfolds, Darwin will be “keenly observed particularly in regard to rental rates as interstate investors look to purchase property with enticing yields; although this has the potential to be counteracted by the rising cost of living that may place home-ownership out of reach for young locals”.
“The year ahead will be an interesting time for Darwin’s property market as the Territory continues to experience unprecedented economic development.
“The past 10 years have seen Darwin transform from a sleepy regional town, into a dynamic capital city that is burgeoning with trade, resource projects and new development.
“As Darwin continues to grow over the next decade and attract new residents, the need for infrastructure development to assist housing construction will become apparent,” she says.

Darwin property market leads the nation but affordability headwinds for 2013: Colliers International

An iconic Robin Boyd creation, the McClune courtyard home at Frankston South has been listed for sale.
The sympathetically restored home is being marketed as an exceptional example of Boyd's ability to blend clean structural lines, huge expanses of glass windows and zoned living to integrate perfectly with nature.

More than $1 million is being tipped for the Marcus Road family home.
Built in the late 1960s on land then abutting Sweetwater Creek for teacher Ian McClune, the property is one of 11 Robin Boyd-designed homes built on the Mornington Peninsula.
It was briefly owned by Melbourne lawyer –and Boyd fan – Peter Mitrakas, who sold it to the Stowe family in 2009.

Robin Boyd-designed Frankston South home listed

The home at 3 Pin Oak Court, Vermont South, in Melbourne's east goes under the hammer shortly – the first time a Neighbours house has been offered for sale publicly since the late 1990s.
For much of the last three decades, the world over has known of it via its then television small screens, as 30 Ramsay Street, home to Toadfish "Toadie'' Rebecchi.
Its downsizing vendor Faye Pierce has the four-bedroom home she built with her husband in 1973 listed for March 2 auction.

It was the third house in the nondescript cul-de-sac, but all that changed when in the mid-1980s when Faye Pierce noticed a man photographing her home, which was followed soon after by an approach the from television production powerhouse, Grundys, seeking to film at the location.
"We all thought it was a bit of fun,’’ she told the Leader Community Newspapers property reporter Melanie Gardiner this week of the initial six-month unpaid trial.
These days film crews take over the court about once a week, with all the interior scenes shot at Global Studios, Nunawading. But the $68 <a target="_blank" href="https://www.neighbourstour.com.au/">Neighbours tour bus </a>keeps daily appearances given the current generation of tourists who've grown up on the show across the world.

It was the home of Kath Day-Knight her husband butcher, Kel and her daughter, Kim. It last sold in 2011 at $1.23 million. Title Tattle doesn't know if the leasing arrangement continues with the Kath &amp; Kim production outfit, but hopefully the new owners have kept its custom valance curtains that co-ordinate nicely with the bed draping. The selling agent gushed the home was presented immaculately with its impressive interior.

"This home is not for the renovator," it was stressed. The Kath &amp; Kim television program viewers wouldn't know it given the use of screening that blocks out the water, but the house is a waterfront."
"Spend endless days/nights enjoying the views from the outdoor entertaining area, while admiring your boat moored at your jetty allowing for direct access to Port Philip Bay," that same agent suggested.
Just why the buyer would need that parking spot for the caravan escapes Title Tattle. "Patterson Lakes is all about lifestyle and it doesn't get much better than this," the Mitchell Torre Real Estate Patterson Lakes spiel said.

It was 2003 when Laurie and Noeline Donaher packed their stubbie holders and departed Sylvania Waters for another canal-front home at Paradise Point on the Gold Coast. The couple secured $2.1 million for their five-bedroom, two-storey brick waterfront residence on MacIntyre Crescent which has not been sold since. As reality TV pioneers, Laurie and Noeline or their offspring could not leave Sylvania Waters without the cameras rolling or occasionally ever since. The couple bought the property in 1988 less its second storey for $435,000.

The significant fee is a closely guarded secret and will be blacked out in the Section 32 until buyers sign a confidentiality agreement, according to selling agent Mitch Palmer of Barry Plant Glen Waverley.
"Astute investors would be crazy not to have a look at it,’’ Palmer said. The court's last sale was in 2007 when Dural, NSW, couple Richard and Kathy Atkinson transferred the property into a family trust at a $630,000 valuation.
RP Data reports the year-to-date median house price in <a target="_blank" href="/news">Vermont South</a> is $650,000.
"When I wanted some trees chopped down on my front lawn, they wrote it into one of the scenes,’’ Faye Pierce, the vendor told Leader Newspapers this week.
And given the television scripts don't have Toadie moving anyway, the estate agency has plans for a portable ‘For Auction’ sign, so its not in any upcoming shots.

Toadie stays put on Ramsay Street if 'noice' house on Neighbours sells to an investor: Title Tattle

One of Brisbane’s most prominent heritage riverfront homes has sold.
Listed in April 2011, <a href="https://cbmb.com.au/selling/QLD/Brisbane-City/NEW-FARM/House/2P0793" target="_blank">The Moorings </a>– a Tudor-style mansion at <a target="_parent" href="/news">New Farm</a> – has been sold for around an unconfirmed $4.5 million.
Its vendors paid $575,000 in 1993 and it had sold at $35,550, in 1973.
Its most recent official land value was $3 million for the 524-square-metre holding.
The five-bedroom home boasts timber finishes, including red mahogany floors and cast iron features.
Its grassed terraces fronting the river have protected the home during the past great floods in 1974 and 2011.
Legend has it the house was built by an English doctor whose wife cherished a dinner plate embossed with a picture of a grand Tudor house.
The house was built in the image of the picture.
It had been listed most recently through Gold Coast agent Carol Carter of Coldwell Banker.
