Queensland builder-developer MAYD has revealed the first look at its major North Kirra beachfront development, lodging amended plans that reduce the number of apartments and increase the proportion of larger residences.

The project is planned across a substantial 4,742 sqm amalgamated site spanning seven lots at <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/2-6-pacific-parade-bilinga-qld-4225">2-6 Pacific Parade</a> and 27-33 Golden Four Drive in Bilin​ga, directly opposite Nor​th Kirra Beach.

<a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/mayd-group">MAYD</a> secured the site for $32.5 million in 2025, in what was one of the Gold Coast's largest property transactions of the year.

The development will be delivered across two stages, with the first stage carrying an estimated gross realisation value of around $360 million.

The latest amendments seek to reduce the overall apartment count and shift the project further toward the owner-occupier market, with larger residences designed for buyers wanting considerably more space than traditionally offered in a beachfront apartment.

The residential mix will include townhomes, oversized two-bedroom apartments, substantial three-bedroom residences and four-bedroom homes.

MAYD has appointed Cera Stribley to lead the architecture and interiors, with the Melbourne-based design practice drawing on the beachfront setting through a series of ocean-facing terraces and heavily landscaped balconies.

Strong horizontal forms and curved balconies will define the exterior, with subtropical landscaping integrated throughout the building to soften the built form and increase the connection between the residences and the beachfront.

The project will also include an extensive collection of resident wellness and lifestyle facilities, continuing the broader shift across the Gold Coast's luxury apartment market toward larger homes supported by resort-style amenity.

MAYD Founder Todd Mould said North Kirra was increasingly appealing to buyers attracted to the more established, lower-density character of the southern Gold Coast.

"North Kirra presents one of the most compelling luxury residential opportunities currently emerging in Australia, combining absolute beachfront with the character and authenticity that buyers are increasingly seeking, and the same sense of tight-knit community that defined Burleigh and Currumbin perhaps 10 or 15 years ago," Mould said.

"With Gold Coast Airport on its doorstep, it also offers a level of accessibility that broadens its appeal across almost every market demographic."

The project comes as the southern Gold Coast continues to attract an increasing share of high-end apartment development and buyer activity.

Kirra in particular has emerged as one of the region's more tightly held beachfront markets, with its relatively low-density character, established surf and hospitality scene and proximity to Gold Coast Airport differentiating it from the higher-density markets further north.

Mould said those characteristics had informed the approach MAYD and Cera Stribley had taken to the project.

"We've worked closely with Cera Stribley to create a vision that is deeply connected to its surroundings," he said.

"Inspired by the coastline itself, the architecture has been shaped around space, privacy and resort-style living, creating a collection of homes that reflects the next generation of luxury on the southern Gold Coast."

MOTIV Managing Director Carly Cottam, who has been appointed to market the project, said buyer attention had continued to move south along the Gold Coast.

"Purchasers who may once have defaulted to Broadbeach, Main Beach or Surfers Paradise are increasingly recognising the value of a genuine beachfront location that offers lower density, strong amenity and a more established sense of community," Cottam said.

"Kirra has a powerful combination of growing demand and genuine scarcity. Beachfront supply is inherently constrained, the area remains relatively low density, and buyers are increasingly placing a premium on locations that feel established, uncrowded and authentic rather than heavily developed."

Cottam said the proximity to Gold Coast Airport was also proving increasingly important for interstate and second-home buyers.

"Being minutes from Gold Coast Airport makes it particularly compelling for interstate buyers, frequent travellers and second-home purchasers who can access an authentic coastal lifestyle almost immediately after stepping off a flight."

The acquisition takes MAYD's active development portfolio to more than $500 million, with the North Kirra project representing one of its largest undertakings to date.

Castle Hill, the longtime hub of the Hills District, has been one of the major beneficiaries of Sydney's Metro expansion, with improved connectivity helping drive continued population growth, development and buyer demand across the Hills District.

But despite that growth, the suburb has seen relatively few major new apartment projects brought to market over the past 18 months.

The project will comprise three residential towers alongside a hotel, restaurants, cafes and a skybar, more than 1,600 sqm of ground-floor retail and almost an acre of landscaped gardens.

It represents the largest project undertaken by Reve Group, the development arm of the Kassis family, which has been building across the Hills District for more than 30 years through Kassis Homes.

Nova Rêve also represents a significant step up from the family's first apartment development, Grand Rêve, which was delivered nearby on Garthowen Crescent.

Grand Rêve introduced larger, house-like apartment layouts and premium inclusions including Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances to the Castle Hill market.

Nova Rêve takes that approach to a precinct scale, combining the residential component with hospitality, retail and substantial public and resident landscaping.

Reve Group Managing Director Sam Kassis said the project reflected the family's three decades of building in the Hills, which has evolved from trophy homes on quarter-acre blocks to larger-scale apartment development.

"Grand Rêve was our first apartment project here and it showed us what this pocket of Castle Hill could be. Nova Rêve is the refinement of that idea: not just apartments, but a place the whole suburb can use," Kassis said.

A key part of that approach is the hotel, which has been designed to operate as an amenity for the wider Castle Hill community rather than solely hotel guests.

It will include restaurants, cafes, skybars and all-day dining, alongside conference and event facilities catering to business functions, community groups and private events.

At ground level, more than 1,600 sqm of shops and cafes will open onto the surrounding streets and landscaped areas.

Almost an acre of gardens designed by Land and Form Studios will run through the precinct, incorporating pathways, seating, barbecue areas and children's play spaces.

Reve Group's Romio Georges said creating an active ground plane had been central to the planning of Nova Rêve.

"There are gardens with pathways, barbecues, seating and play areas, shops and cafes opening onto the street, and a hotel with restaurants and a skybar that anyone in Castle Hill can walk into," Georges said.

The project's elevated position on one of Sydney's highest ridgelines will also provide apartments with outlooks toward the Sydney skyline, surrounding parkland and the Blue Mountains.

More than 80 per cent of the apartments will occupy corner positions, with Turner responsible for both the architecture and interiors.

Maréa Residences brings parkside apartments to Coolangatta

Melbourne developer PDG has secured Victorian Government approval for its $1.5 billion Southbank development <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/the-one-1-queens-bridge-street-southbank-vic-3006">The One</a>, clearing the way for the long-dormant riverfront site opposite Crown to finally be developed.

The Minister for Planning has approved the project at 1-29 Queens Bridge Street, with the Department of Transport and Planning issuing the planning permit following its assessment.

The approval will allow PDG to develop the prominent 5,059 sqm site with a major mixed-use tower comprising premium apartments, including branded residences, a luxury hotel and boutique office space.

PDG acquired the site in late 2024, with its position directly opposite Crown's main entrance and near Melbourne's Arts Precinct making it one of Southbank's most significant remaining development opportunities.

Designed by COX in collaboration with ODO and PDG, the tower's architecture draws on the movement of the Yarra River, with six vertical pleats running the height of the sculpted facade.

The project will also see the heritage-listed Queens Bridge Hotel restored and incorporated into the development&nbsp;with new hospitality and public uses, including a rooftop venue.

A significant component of The One will be its residential amenity.

More than 5,000 sqm of resident facilities will be delivered across a single level, making it one of the largest consolidated residential amenity offerings proposed in an Australian apartment development.

The planning approval also incorporates a major upgrade of Queensbridge Square, which PDG will deliver in partnership with the City of Melbourne.

The existing square will be revitalised as a new civic and pedestrian space along the Yarra River, strengthening the connection between the project, Southbank and the riverfront.

PDG Founder and Managing Director Vince Giuliano said the approval represented a major milestone for a site which has remained largely underutilised for more than 15 years.

“This is the most significant Planning Permit approval Melbourne has seen in recent years,” Giuliano said.

“For more than 15 years, this site has remained underutilised. This approval enables us to deliver a project that will contribute meaningfully to the revitalisation of Southbank, restore and reactivate an important heritage building, and create a new civic and hospitality destination for Melbourne.”

The latest approval follows an earlier planning permit issued by the City of Melbourne covering demolition works across part of the site at 9-29 Queens Bridge Street. Those demolition and early works are already underway.

PDG has also started generating early interest in the residential component from owner-occupiers ahead of a planned public launch in early 2027.

PDG secures approval for $1.5bn Southbank apartment development, The One

Local developer Harridan is seeking to turn its Woolloongabba apartment project into the first stage of a broader transformation of Burke Street, using a new 16-storey mixed-use building to establish a greener pedestrian connection toward the rapidly evolving Boggo Road transport and knowledge precinct.

The South East Queensland developer has filed plans for 154 apartments on the <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/4-burke-street-woolloongabba-qld-4102">southern side of Burke Street</a>, where its proposal has been designed alongside a wider vision by LatStudios for the street.

That vision positions the southern side of Burke Street for buildings of 15 storeys and above, while envisaging lower-rise development of up to five storeys on the northern side to transition into Woolloongabba's existing character housing. It also proposes wider pedestrian verges, deep planting, new street trees and upgrades to the pedestrian approach to Boggo Road Station.

The Harridan development itself has been designed by Brisbane-based Arqus Design and will comprise 154 apartments across 16 storeys. The mix is weighted heavily toward two-bedroom apartments, with 121 proposed alongside 10 one-bedroom and 23 three-bedroom residences. There will typically be around 14 units per floor.

A lower-ground car park and three podium levels will accommodate 156 resident parking spaces, along with visitor and commercial parking. There will also be 154 resident bicycle spaces and 40 visitor bicycle parks.

Harridan is a family-owned developer and part of the Holmwood Highgate Group, with more than three decades of development activity across South East Queensland. Its portfolio spans residential, commercial and industrial property, with current residential projects including Riverbank on Byron in Bulimba, Esperance Residences in Carina and The Precinct at Kinross Road in Thornlands.

Wooloongabba has been popular for apartment developers, particularly since the announcement of the 2032 Summer Olympics games in Brisbane.

While there have been a lot of development applications, it has failed to materialize into real supply.&nbsp;

First look: Harridan plans Burke Street transformation beside Boggo Road transport hub

Sydney’s property market is known for high prices, competitive bidding, and mounting pressure on first home buyers. But change is on the horizon.

From late 2025, eligible first home buyers in New South Wales will have access to a new federal government initiative aimed at addressing affordability: the Help to Buy Scheme.&nbsp;

<h2>What is the Help to Buy Scheme?</h2>

The program introduces a shared equity model intended to reduce the upfront cost of entering the property market, particularly in high-demand urban areas such as Sydney.

The scheme operates under a shared ownership structure in which the federal government takes an equity stake of up to 40 per cent for new homes, or 30 per cent for existing dwellings. This arrangement allows eligible buyers to significantly reduce their loan size and avoid the added cost of Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI).

Under this model, purchasers can enter the property market with as little as a two per cent deposit, well below the traditional 10 to 20 per cent usually required. The government’s contribution is not a loan but a co-ownership stake in the property. As such, there is no interest or rent charged on its portion.

Because the government’s equity combined with the buyer’s deposit typically meets or exceeds the 20 per cent threshold, LMI does not apply. The remaining balance, generally between 60 and 70 per cent of the property’s value, is financed through a standard home loan with a participating lender.

The government's equity in the property remains in place until the buyer chooses to repay it voluntarily or until the property is sold. Buyers can buy back the government’s share over time, in increments of at least five per cent, depending on their financial situation.

There is no fixed repayment timeline, but the amount to be repaid will be based on the property's market value at the time of repayment, not the original purchase price.

<h2>How do you qualify for the&nbsp;Help to Buy Scheme?</h2>

To qualify for the Help to Buy Scheme, applicants must meet the following conditions:

	<li>Be an Australian citizen at least 18 years of age.</li>
	<li>Be a first-home buyer who does not currently own property.</li>
	<li>Intend to live in the property as their primary residence.</li>

A Sydney mortgage broker who advised clients to invest up to $7 million in a Hong Kong business called US Mortgage Giant has been permanently banned by ASIC from providing financial services. 
An ASIC investigation found that Erin Watson, 35, of Woolooware, NSW had engaged in misleading and deceptive conduct by enticing about 100 investors from the Hunter Valley, Sydney, Canberra and Wollongong to join the scheme between 2005 and 2007. 
ASIC found that from September 2006 to March 2008 Watson used clients’ money to pay her home loan, family members, clients of Home Equity and companies associated with Home Equity.
Watson was a director of Home Equity Pty Ltd and still remains a director of a number of companies including, but not limited to, Home Mortgages Australia Pty Ltd. 
A search across Yellow Pages reveals a Home Equity Pty Ltd located at Level one 7/448 458 Parramatta Road in Strathfield, Sydney. The company is listed as a “financier”. Calls to the number did not go through. According to ASIC, between March 2007 and February 2008 neither Watson nor the aforementioned companies held an Australian Financial Services licence, nor was she an authorised representative of an AFS licensee. However, during this period Watson met with potential investors, dealt with clients and signed agreements entered into by Home Mortgages Australia. 
Watson representing to clients that they would be investing in a large experienced overseas company based in Hong Kong known as US Mortgage Giant, which she told them invested in property and finance. 
She convinced investors their investments were “watertight” by lodging documents with ASIC that US Mortgage Giant was a legal entity and a significant shareholder of Home Mortgages Australia and a number of associated companies. 
Watson told investors they were investing in a tax deduction scheme which she said had Tax Office approval while it was in fact being investigated by the Tax Office, the SMH reported in June last year. 
In July 2009 she told investors she was winding up the scheme. 
Watson has the right to apply to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal for a review of ASIC’s decision.

Mortgage broker gets ASIC life ban for deceptive conduct

The asking price for the Auckland average house fell by 2% in July to $NZ522,803, but Auckland home buyers are facing a looming shortage of available properties.
Despite the small drop in prices, the New Zealand Real Estate Institute is heralding a return to a sellers’ market, given the speed at which houses are now being purchased.
There were 8966 new listings in July, 11% fewer than the same month last year, but the estimated time to sell has decreased.
The number of weeks to clear available inventory was down to 24 weeks, some 33% lower year on year, which realestate.co.nz chief executive Alistair Helm said indicated an emerging sellers’ market.
At the end of July the available inventory was 10,685 properties across Auckland, Helm says.
"In the space of four months, Auckland has moved from being a buyer's to a seller's market," Helm says.
"If you go back to the early part of the year you had inventories up at about 50 weeks, well above long-term average."
The NZ national average for clearing inventory was down 18% year on year to 38 weeks.
"Auckland remains the epicentre of this trend and where available inventory of property for sale is the lowest seen since this recent property malaise began back in 2007," said the report .
There were only 295 new listings in Auckland's apartment market - a 15% fall year on year - with an average asking price of $340,344.

House prices down slightly in Auckland, but housing shortage looms

The Australian Bankers’ Association has labelled the Choice campaign to encourage borrowers to switch their mortgage providers a “gimmick”
“The Choice gimmick is fine, but bank customers would be better off talking directly with their bank if they’re not satisfied with their current mortgage,” says Steven Münchenberg, chief executive of the ABA. “People already have a lot of negotiating power in the competitive home lending marketplace, especially now, when demand for credit is low,” he says.
Münchenberg claims that borrowers are “routinely offered discounts, which can shave up to 1% off the interest rate saving thousands of dollars over the full term of the loan”.
The Choice campaign was set up in tandem with loan advisor One Big Switch, set up by Lachlan Harris, Kevin Rudd’s former spin doctor.
The scheme was launched on July 31, 2011 following the government ban on mortgage exit fees and has already attracted in excess of 10,000 borrowers by mid-Tuesday who have pledged to explore switching to a better mortgage deal.
The scheme had an initial target of 1,000 borrowers and will close on August 14.
Mortgage holders register at www.bigbankswitch.com, with lenders then competing to make offers to the registered group. They are under no obligation to switch.
It has the partial support of the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia, which is predominantly made up of mortgage brokers and smaller lenders.
MFAA chief executive Phil Naylor has welcomed it as an attempt to “free up competition in the home loan sector” but has questioned Choice’s commercial involvement in an industry in which it has “previously performed impartial advocacy”.
“One Big Switch is a joint venture between Choice and a commercial operation that matches borrowers with the best bank mortgage rate,” Naylor says.
“One Big Switch will earn commissions on successful mortgages and Choice has announced it will receive referral fees for its part in the transactions both practices of which Choice has, in the past, been critical.
“The MFAA is surprised that Choice is now becoming commercially entwined in the industry,” he says.
Choice says any fees received from One Big Switch will be used to recover the costs of running the campaign.
Criticism of the scheme comes on the back of bank regulator APRA writing to bank chairmen calling for appropriate pricing of mortgages including adequate loan to value ratios and other risk criteria.
APRA is concerned that lower mortgage growth is encouraging an aggressive approach by banks to win mortgage business including easing of lending standards to pre-GFC levels.
Naylor says that consumers should be aware that One Big Switch is not a new service; it is the service that 12,000 MFAA approved broker members perform for clients every day.

Choice's Big Switch home loan campaign a 'gimmick', say bankers

US equity firm Blackstone has bought ailing property trust Valad for $207 million.
The sale will see unit holders receive a payout of $1.80 – a steep discount to net tangible assets.
At its peak the trust was valued at $2.40 a share. It was last trading at $1.78.
A resolution to approve the buyout was supported by 95% of unit holders.
Valad chairman Trevor Gerber blamed the GFC for the group’s downfall.
As at June 30, 2010, the group had $8.1 billion in assets under management across 22 funds and mandates in Europe and Australia. In 2009 the fund had $9.2 billion. 
Australian assets held by the fund include the Sheraton Noosa Spa and Resort, which it attempted to sell earlier this year. The sale was suspended in May pending the Blackstone takeover.
Substantial shareholders include UK-based private investment firm Centaurus Capital, which held 10% of the shares, Morgan Stanley Australia (6.36%) and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (6.37%)
The buyout is subject to approval by the NSW Supreme Court.
Valad is due to stop trading on August 12 with investors being paid out on August 26.

Bluestone elegance in Myrtle Bank

Melbourne General Cemetery has listed a cathedral-style burial vault with an asking price of $155,000 plus.
Built in 1866, the octagonal structure it is being offered as a burial site for the first time. It is one of the eight historic rotundas within the Carlton cemetery that provided visitors with shade during their visits.
The final pricing is currently with the Department of Health, and it is envisaged to be more than $155,000. The price was initially gazetted at $200,000 by the Department of Health but has since been reviewed. 
It has some 300,000 neighbours.
With the typical mausoleum crypts sale yielding about $33,000, the cemetery trustees acknowledged the decision to convert the rotunda followed “the virtually instantaneous sale of two cathedral-style vaults at St Kilda Cemetery".
Nicole Stow from Southern Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust says nearby graves include one of the founders of Melbourne, John Pascoe Fawkner.
The ornate plot has enough space for two graves.

The vault sits on 10th Avenue in the heart of the cemetery. A striking piece of granite now seals the vault and allows for commemoration.
"With the current construction of the Saint Mary of the Cross Mausoleum at Melbourne soon to be completed providing  a number of  new interment options, we have been going through a process of reviewing  all of our prices," Stow says.
"The price takes into account the cost to install the concrete lined burial vault which is finished off with a piece of granite, the cost to refurbish the Summer House rotunda and the cost to  maintain the structure and surrounding area in perpetuity.
"Given there are seven other summer houses within the grounds, if there was a demand in the future more could be converted into another vault.
"The two Cathedral Style vaults sold at St Kilda Cemetery in 2008 were slightly different  structures, but similar in that they were a pavilion-style building, which sold for approximately $156,000."
In 2009-2010, revenue from cemetery operations was $17.2 million ($24.8 million in 2008-09), with operating costs totalling $14.1 million, resulting in an operations surplus of $3.1 million.
Income from its investment portfolio generated $3.7 million compared with a 2008-09 loss of $19.1 million, reflecting the partial recovery of the equities market and the realisation of some investments.

Cemetery offering for close to $200,000: Grave concerns over Melbourne affordability

New home sales fell 8.7% in June to their lowest level since last September, according to the latest data from the Housing Industry Association, which warns that the industry is at risk if the Reserve Bank decides to raise interest rates tomorrow.
New home sales suffered their heaviest monthly decline in five years in June 2011, providing further evidence of the need to keep interest rates on hold, said the Housing Industry Association, the voice of Australia’s residential building industry.
The latest HIA - JELD-WEN New Home Sales Report, a survey of Australia’s major residential builders, showed that the number of new homes sold in June 2011 dropped by 8.7 per cent, the sharpest monthly decline since May 2006.
The data comes as the auctions market has once again delivered a less-than-impressive result, even with unseasonably warm weather in Melbourne.
HIA chief economist Harley Dale says the result is weak, and that anecdotal evidence suggests that interest and demand for new housing has "hit a wall".
"This piece of empirical evidence supports the anecdotes we've been hearing."
Dale says the industry needs an extended period of steady interest rates in order for building to take off, but that won't occur if the RBA raises interest rates tomorrow, or even during the rest of the year, he warns.
"We've had a forecast for a long time this year that building would be significantly weaker than we saw in 2010, and as I've said before, higher interest rates are just going to add to the risk that it becomes lower than what we're already forecasting."
"What you ideally need is a sustained period of steady interest rates... but that particular outcome looks unlikely because regardless of whether the Reserve Bank hits the button tomorrow, we've got considerable amounts of uncertainty over interest rates."
Dale says the HIA has received an invitation to the tax summit in October, and a representative from the organisation will be attending. He hopes that some sort of benefit for the industry can be achieved, saying that stimulus is needed in order to improve home building levels across the country.
"Are there some stimulus measures the Government could be considering, in the form of boosting new homes, or perhaps looking at accelerated depreciation for rental investment? Should the Government be considering options to reduce risk?"
The calls for stimulus come as a number of companies in the building and construction industry have collapsed, citing poor trading conditions as a major factor.
Dale says this type of support is extremely important, as the evidence suggests that sentiment for housing is dropping, even though interest rates have remained steady since last November.
"The situation for new home building reinforces the importance of getting tangible outcomes from the tax forum in early October. You have a situation where new housing is very heavily taxed, and we're hoping to nut out a way to remove some of those inefficient costs."

New home sales fall 8.7%, industry calls for tax reform at October summit

Consolidated Pastoral Company has added the 23,000-hectare Comely-Mapala station near Bauhinia, south west of Rockhampton, to its 19-strong cattle property portfolio.
It is the first major cattle station sale since the government’s month-long live cattle ban was lifted on July 7. The ban cast doubt over rural property valuations and according to Herron Todd White valuer Terry Roth increased the risk profile of investing in the northern Australian cattle industry.

The price was not disclosed but is reportedly significantly below the $35 million asking price.
The sale of the property was negotiated by Elders agent Virgil Kenny on behalf of Bill Reid.
Reid purchased the property from the Georgina Pastoral Company in 2008 for $26.5 million, including cattle.
The Comely-Mapala Station was sold bare of livestock.
According to the Australian Financial Review, Reid was happy with the price paid by Consolidated Pastoral.
Consolidated Pastoral’s 19 properties covering more than 5.7 million hectares and is responsible for the management of more than 350,000 cattle across North Australia.
The company is majority owned by London-based private equity firm Terra Firma.

First Top End cattle station sold since live export ban

The amount you might be able to snap as part of the Northern Territory government’s “BuildBonus” incentive. The grant is available to home buyers and investors, including companies and trustees, that sign a contract to purchase or build a new home (including signing a contract for a house and land package), or unit (including off the plan) or commence construction of a new home as an owner-builder. The grant is available up until December 31, 2011. The value of a new unit or new home or the total construction cost of a new home (including the value of the land on which it is built) is capped at $530,000. The BuildBonus is available to first-home buyers in addition to the first home owner grant. (This means that eligible first home buyers are eligible for assistance of up to $17,000.)

This money is up for grabs as part of a Regional Relocation Home Buyers Grant in NSW, which will operate for four years June 30, 2015. The scheme provides a one-off payment to assist with the cost of relocating from a metropolitan home to a regional home. The metropolitan area means the local government areas of the Sydney metropolitan area, Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Gosford, Wyong, Wollondilly, Wollongong and Newcastle. All applicants must have owned and occupied the metropolitan home as their principal place of residence within 12 months before the contract exchange date of the regional home purchase. It is available for purchases up to $600 000. All applicants must sell the metropolitan home either before or within 12 months after the completion date of the regional home purchase. A further $7,000 is also available via the first-home owner grant.

First Home buyers who qualify for the $7,000 first-home owner grant in South Australia may also be eligible for a first home bonus grant of up to $8,000 if they enter into a contract to purchase or build a new home, or commence construction as owner builders before July 1, 2012. As part of the 2011 state budget the $8,000 first home bonus grant will be phased out by July 1, 2013. It will be reduced to $4,000 from July 1, 2012 and then to be fully abolished from July 1, 2013. The first home owner grant is not being phased out.
