Developers and apartment buyers have a narrowing window of opportunity before Brisbane's Olympic infrastructure pipeline begins competing directly with residential construction, pushing up costs, tightening labour supply and making new projects increasingly difficult to deliver.

While Brisbane's apartment market continues to benefit from strong population growth and limited housing supply, industry research suggests the years leading up to 2027 could prove to be the most important period for developers looking to secure builders and buyers hoping to purchase before the next wave of price increases.

A new Colliers report, Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games: Creating Solutions, highlights the scale of the challenge. While thousands of new homes are planned across South East Queensland, the Brisbane Olympic Athletes Village alone will deliver more than 10,500 beds during the Games before being converted into around 1,750 to 2,000 apartments. Equivalent to almost two years of typical inner-city apartment supply, the project will also absorb a significant share of the construction workforce and building materials.

The broader construction pipeline paints an even clearer picture.

Construction Skills Queensland's Horizon 2032 report forecasts Queensland's annual construction pipeline will average $69 billion over the coming years before peaking at $75 billion in 2027-28. Demand for construction workers is expected to increase by 17 per cent to almost 150,000 people, with the industry facing an annual shortfall of around 19,000 workers that could blow out to as many as 35,000 during the peak construction period.

The Olympic venues, athletes village and supporting infrastructure will account for billions of dollars worth of work across South East Queensland through to 2032, creating intense competition for labour at a time when Australia's residential construction sector is already under pressure.

Colliers Queensland Residential Director Andrew Scriven said the convergence of these projects is creating a clear window of opportunity for both developers and buyers.

"From 2027 onwards, the market will shift dramatically," Scriven said.

"Labour will increasingly be locked into government-led infrastructure and Olympic projects, which means private residential developments will face higher costs and tighter margins. The developers who move now are the ones most likely to get projects off the ground."

Scriven said the same dynamic would also affect buyers, with fewer apartment projects expected to launch once construction capacity tightens.

"If you're looking to change your lifestyle over the next five years, now is your window of opportunity to buy."

Developers are already positioning themselves ahead of that window.

Following the success of Monarch at Toowong, Consolidated Properties is preparing to launch two new Brisbane apartment projects in the second half of 2026. They include <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/gloriette-30-bedivere-street-yeerongpilly-qld-4105">Gloriette</a> at Yeerongpilly Green, a 25-storey tower within one of Brisbane's key Olympic precincts, and <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/castile-47-skyring-terrace-newstead-qld-4006">Castile</a>, a recently approved 25-storey riverfront development at 47 Skyring Terrace in Newstead.

Hutchinson Builders will deliver both projects, with early works already underway at Yeerongpilly and Newstead expected to commence later this year.

The timing comes as Brisbane's fundamentals continue to strengthen, with strong interstate migration, population growth and vacancy rates remaining below 1.5 per cent.

Colliers Queensland researcher Pragya Sharma said Greater Brisbane is forecast to require around 40,000 new apartments between 2021 and 2031.

"There's a real mismatch emerging between when housing is needed and when it will be feasible to build," Sharma said.

"As a result, the period leading up to 2027 presents a key window of opportunity for developers to secure approvals, funding and construction capacity, while buyers will have greater choice before supply constraints intensify."

Builder-developer&nbsp;<a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/ceerose">Ceerose</a> has doubled down on its Leichhardt ambitions, lodging its second State Significant Development Application (SSDA) in the suburb in the last six months.

Their newest proposal seeks to transform a former industrial precinct into a new residential community centred around the adaptive reuse of one of the site's heritage warehouse buildings.

The new project, on a 6,930 sqm block at&nbsp;<a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/40-76-william-street-leichhardt-nsw-2040">40–76 William Street</a>, will bring more than 200 apartments to a suburb that has seen little to no new supply in recent years. It follows Ceerose's late 2025 SSDA for a mixed-use apartment project on nearby Parramatta Road, signalling the developer's growing investment in Sydney's Inner West.

Ceerose Founder Edward Doueihi told Apartments.com.au the developer’s long-standing presence in Leichhardt and the Inner West had given it a strong understanding of how the area has evolved and where its future opportunities lie.

“Ceerose has had a long-standing presence in Leichhardt and the Inner West, giving us a unique understanding of the area’s evolution and future potential,” Doueihi said.

“Having delivered projects throughout the region, we have witnessed the suburb’s transformation first-hand and understand the opportunities for its continued growth.”

Doueihi said that understanding also informed the planning process, with a comprehensive Stakeholder Engagement Outcomes Report prepared before the application was lodged.

The retained structure would anchor a new residential precinct comprising five interconnected buildings arranged around a large central landscaped courtyard, with heights stepping from five storeys along the surrounding residential streets to 11 storeys at the William Street corner.

According to the Architecture Design Report by Woods Bagot, the proposal "seeks to create a residential village centred around a generous green heart while celebrating the site's industrial heritage through the adaptive reuse of the existing warehouse building."

The development would comprise 203 apartments, with 188 proposed as build-to-sell residences, alongside 15 affordable housing apartments.

Rather than treating the retained warehouse as a standalone heritage object, Woods Bagot has sought to weave the site's industrial history throughout the masterplan. The proposal retains the north and west facades of the landmark corner warehouse, while new buildings reinterpret the site's brick-and-steel industrial language through their material palette and architectural expression.

The design is organised around what Woods Bagot describes as a "green heart", a landscaped communal open space that reinstates the leafy character removed when the site became an industrial storage facility. A new pedestrian laneway running through the site would improve permeability between William, North and Francis streets, linking residents through landscaped public spaces while activating the ground plane.

Residents would have access to communal gardens and shared recreation areas distributed throughout the development. Sustainability has also been prioritised, with the project targeting an average 7.9-star NatHERS rating. Proposed initiatives include rooftop solar generation, rainwater harvesting, passive solar design, naturally ventilated lobbies, extensive cross-ventilation and the reuse of existing building fabric to reduce embodied carbon.

The adaptive reuse strategy became a defining feature of the application after heritage investigations found only one of the site's industrial buildings could feasibly be retained. The Heritage Impact Statement concludes that preserving the key warehouse façades while referencing the site's industrial character throughout the new development provides an appropriate balance between renewal and conservation.

First look: Ceerose doubles down in Leichhardt with adaptive reuse of former warehouse site

Sydney’s property market is known for high prices, competitive bidding, and mounting pressure on first home buyers. But change is on the horizon.

From late 2025, eligible first home buyers in New South Wales will have access to a new federal government initiative aimed at addressing affordability: the Help to Buy Scheme.&nbsp;

<h2>What is the Help to Buy Scheme?</h2>

The program introduces a shared equity model intended to reduce the upfront cost of entering the property market, particularly in high-demand urban areas such as Sydney.

The scheme operates under a shared ownership structure in which the federal government takes an equity stake of up to 40 per cent for new homes, or 30 per cent for existing dwellings. This arrangement allows eligible buyers to significantly reduce their loan size and avoid the added cost of Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI).

Under this model, purchasers can enter the property market with as little as a two per cent deposit, well below the traditional 10 to 20 per cent usually required. The government’s contribution is not a loan but a co-ownership stake in the property. As such, there is no interest or rent charged on its portion.

Because the government’s equity combined with the buyer’s deposit typically meets or exceeds the 20 per cent threshold, LMI does not apply. The remaining balance, generally between 60 and 70 per cent of the property’s value, is financed through a standard home loan with a participating lender.

The government's equity in the property remains in place until the buyer chooses to repay it voluntarily or until the property is sold. Buyers can buy back the government’s share over time, in increments of at least five per cent, depending on their financial situation.

There is no fixed repayment timeline, but the amount to be repaid will be based on the property's market value at the time of repayment, not the original purchase price.

<h2>How do you qualify for the&nbsp;Help to Buy Scheme?</h2>

To qualify for the Help to Buy Scheme, applicants must meet the following conditions:

	<li>Be an Australian citizen at least 18 years of age.</li>
	<li>Be a first-home buyer who does not currently own property.</li>
	<li>Intend to live in the property as their primary residence.</li>
	<li>Earn less than $100,000 per year for individuals, or $160,000 for couples.</li>

Deicorp's $670 million Tallawong project in Sydney's northwest has experienced an influx of buyers since launching to the market, with half of the apartments already sold, and all of Stage 1 completely sold out.

The Turner Studio designed apartments have proven to be a popular option in Sydney's northwest, despite the fact that sales started during the pandemic.

Due to the strong demand, new stages of the development have been released earlier than originally planned.

"Located 50 metres from the Tallawong Metro station, and with the convenience of a 9,000 sqm retail and commercial centre and central park, buyers have voted with their feet making this one of our fastest selling projects in history," Rob Furolo, Deicorp’s Executive Manager of Corporate Communications said.

Deicorp sell out first stage of $670 million Tallawong Village

Sydney unit values continued their upward trajectory over March, posting the strongest gains of any capital city across the country.

Following the end of the downturn over February when values rose 0.3 per cent, March saw increasingly improved value rise, up one per cent. That made unit values flat over the quarter.

Annually unit values are down -8.7 per cent, to a new median of $776,780. Hosue values across Sydney also posted gains (1.5 per cent). Their median is now $1.23 million, down -13.3 per cent annually.

Colliers Director Ian Bennett says the price gaps shows how much room there is to grow in the apartment market.

"The traditional price gap between existing houses and apartments sits at around 40 per cent, with the number currently at around 70 per cent this year. At one point in 2022 it sat at 100 per cent, but there is still a very long way to go to get close to any normal levels.

"This in turn shows how much room there is to grow in the apartment market.

"Our experience this year has shown the bottom of the market seemed to be at the end of 2022, with statistics revealing our three-bedroom stock increasing in value in the last 3 months by 14 per cent.

"The price growth achieved over the last three years increased dramatically, giving owners large equity within their homes. This made it less likely for owners to want to reduce pricing or sell at a loss, putting more pressure on the supply.

"People who purchased three years ago are still better off than they were even after the loss of the last 10 months by at least 15 per cent from when they purchased."

Ray White Projects Western Sydney Managing Director Mark Bernberg saw strong demand continue through March,&nbsp;consistent with the whole of the first quarter of 2023.

"Lead generation has been strong," Bernberg says, although says what isn't changing is buyers' appetite to buy.

"There’s no urgency in the market and people are still not sure what their borrowing capacity will be.

"The RBA needs to get the cash rate to the peak, and quickly, so buyers can have confidence in what they can spend and what their repayments will be."

Bernberg says Labor raising the stamp duty concessional rate to $800,000 was also a strong move for the market.

Across the country, values were up 0.6 per cent in March, the first rise since April 2022.

Dwelling values were higher across the four largest capital cities and most of the broad ‘rest-of-state’ regions, led by a 1.4 per cent gain in Sydney.&nbsp;The lift in housing values has been most evident across the upper quartile of Sydney’s housing market, CoreLogic note.

House values within the most expensive quarter of Sydney’s market were up two per cent in March and the upper quartile of the Sydney unit market was 1.4 per cent higher over the month.

“Sydney upper quartile house values fell by -17.4% from their peak in January 2022 to a recent low in January 2023, the largest drop from the market peak of any capital city market segment."

CoreLogic’s Research Director, Tim Lawless, put the rise down to a combination of low advertised stock levels, extremely tight rental conditions and additional demand from overseas migration.

“Although interest rates are high and there is an expectation the economy will slow through the year, it’s clear other factors are now placing upwards pressure on home prices,” Lawless said.

“Advertised supply has been below average since September last year, with capital city listing numbers ending March almost -20% below the previous five-year average. Purchasing activity has also fallen but not as much as available supply; capital city sales activity was estimated to be roughly -7% below the previous five-year average through the March quarter.

“With rental markets this tight, it’s likely we are seeing some spillover from renting into purchasing, although, with mortgage rates so high, not everyone who wants to buy will be able to qualify for a loan. Similarly, with net overseas migration at record levels and rising, there is a chance more permanent or long-term migrants who can afford to, will skip the rental phase and fast track a home purchase simply because they can’t find rental accommodation.”

High-end property developer Fortis, who are creating striking projects across Sydney and Melbourne's bluechip suburbs, have launched their latest project.

Following the largest site amalgamations in the affluent suburb of Woollahra, Fortis has launched The Woollahra Collection, just 25 residences, a mix of apartments and terraces.

MHN Design Union have been appointed as the lead architects on the project, with landscaping by Wyer &amp; Co. The 1900s terrace interiors are being redesigned by local Phoebe Nicol. On offer will be a collection of two and three bedroom homes with north-facing gardens and secure car parking.

The buildings on the site date back to the late 1800s and early 1900s and will be architecturally restored as part of the $170 million project. Alongside the refurbished buildings, Woollahra Collection will also feature newly built luxury residences, comprising two, three and four-bedroom apartments.

The interiors of the luxury new residences are being undertaken by Alexander &amp; Co. The new build will comprise north facing, two, three and four-bedroom residences with large entertaining areas and ample outdoor space.

Part of the project is the restoration of the&nbsp;1880s theatre, which will be restored by Mim Design and converted into a single trophy residence, with an expected end value of around $15 million. The interiors will be an ode to the historic grandeur of the original property, complete with its own basement, tunnel cellar, internal landscaped courtyards and pool.

Fortis secured the 14 lots, now 2A James Street, for around $50 million, an amalgamation making a 3,500 sqm mega block.

Ben Stewart from Stewart Residential and CBRE is handling the sales.

Fortis launch The Woollahra Collection

A new mixed-use development is set to transform the landscape of Lindus Street in the inner suburbs of Newcastle, with the demolition of two warehouses and a concrete car park set to make way for the construction of 59 new dwellings in <a href="/developments/wickham-nsw-2293">Wickham</a>.

The plans for <a href="/new-apartments/1-21-railway-street-wickham">1-21 Railway Street, Wickham</a>, were lodged by Gemini Interchange Pty Ltd, which is directed by Maitland-born Kristoffer and Dallas Harvey. Kristoffer is currently the CEO for Goodman Group's activities in Greater China.&nbsp;

The development will comprise 21 one-bedroom, 32 two-bedroom and six three-bedroom apartments, along with five four-bedroom three-storey terrace houses, providing a range of living options to cater to the diverse needs of the community.

It’s hoped the project will help address Newcastle’s rental crisis — with the city’s vacancy rate sitting at just 1.4 per cent.&nbsp;

The 11-storey development has been designed by&nbsp;CKDS Architecture, with it also set to feature communal open space and an urban activation space facing Lindus Street, as well as ground floor retail space on Railway Street.&nbsp;

The landscape design developed by Xeriscapes will integrate with and enhance the architectural forms and will aid in helping council to deliver a north facing urban activation space&nbsp;to the corners of Railway and Lindus streets, consistent with the vision for a public network outlined in City of Newcastle’s Wickham Masterplan 2017 and 
subsequent 2021 update.

The facade will feature concrete panel walls, metal screens and metal flat bar balustrades, paired with face brickwork, lightweight cladding and powder-coated horizontal plant louvres.&nbsp;

The built form has been constructed to maximise natural sunlight and cross flow ventilation throughout each of the residences while also providing view lines to the harbour.&nbsp;

The northern façade presents as an open form, taking advantage of sunlight and views, broken down into a hierarchy of slabs edges, dividing walls, and balconies.

Construction will soon commence at Double Bay's record-setting residential development, Ode.

Top Spring Australia has appointed Ceerose to deliver the $250 million revival of the rare corner site at 19-27 Cross Street, with the construction milestone coinciding with the sale of a three-bedroom sub-penthouse for $15.99 million - tipping the total value of sales to more than $105 million.&nbsp;

Ode has eclipsed previous pricing records in the inner-east suburb, with <a href="/news/nsw/downsizers-splash-21-49-million-on-ode-double-bay-penthouse">the penthouses selling off the plan for $24.95 million and $21.49 million</a>, and another sub-penthouse for $17.49 million.

Top Spring Australia Development Director, Jeff Curnow, said the project's vision to set new benchmarks in luxury living was coming to life with Ceerose.

Construction set to commence at record-breaking Double Bay apartment development Ode

Revised plans by&nbsp;Fender Katsalidis for the $111 million redevelopment of the Coogee Bay Hotel have been submitted.

The original plans to demolish significant parts of the hotel and build a new six-storey apartment building were met with significant opposition from both Randwick City Council and local residents.

The applicant took the matter to the Land &amp; Environment Court in November 2021, and since then, the case has been ongoing. However, on March 23, 2023, the LEC granted permission for the applicant to lodge amended plans.

Under the new proposal, several existing buildings and structures on site will be demolished. However, the hotel and most of the Coogee Bay Road facade and beer garden will remain. The internal areas of the hotel will also be reconfigured, and 16 new and 15 refurbished rooms will be added.

To the west of the site a four and five-storey shop top residential building will be constructed, comprising 58 apartments, with seven one-bedroom, 25 two-bedroom and 24 three-bedroom apartments, in addition to two four-bedroom penthouses.

A new three-storey southern hotel wing, south of the beer garden, will be constructed, including 15 new hotel rooms. The existing beer garden area will also be upgraded, with the construction of new dining pavilions.

Additionally, 11 new retail tenancies, including cafes, shops, and restaurants, will be created in a ground-floor eat street precinct and Coogee Bay Road. A new public laneway will also be established, running from Coogee Bay Road to Arden Street, creating a through link.

Two levels of car parking will service the development, one at ground level and one basement carpark level, with around 159 spaces planned.&nbsp;

Currently, Randwick Council's external planning consultants are undertaking a detailed assessment of the amended plans, and community feedback will be carefully considered as part of the court proceedings.

Key amendments to the proposal:

	<li>Building heights reduced from a maximum of 23.33m to 21.35m.</li>
	<li>Amendments to the building mass to retain view lines to key landforms including Wedding Cake Island, Dolphin Point and the northern headland of Coogee Beach.</li>
	<li>Reduction in basement excavation by two levels.</li>
	<li>Increased building setback to the southern boundary and accommodation of deep soil planting and additional communal open space.</li>
	<li>Removal of the ground level supermarket tenancy and provision of residential apartments to the street frontage of Vicar Street.</li>
	<li>Increased retention to four heritage building facades along Coogee Bay Road.</li>
	<li>Internal reconfiguration of pub building, hotel and all residential apartments.</li>
	<li>Inclusion of a three-storey building to the southern side of the beer garden. Provision of the car park entry from Arden Street only and removing the car park entrance from Vicar Street.</li>
	<li>Changes to the colour and materials used on the retail tenancies fronting Coogee Bay Road to respond to the character of this streetscape.</li>
</ul>

Revised plans submitted for $111m Coogee Bay Hotel redevelopment

The RBA halted their aggressive cash rate increases at the April meeting, opting to not hike rates for an 11th consecutive time.

They left the cash rate unchanged at 3.6 per cent.

Below is the RBA statement by RBA Governor Philip Lowe.

At its meeting today, the Board decided to leave the cash rate target unchanged at 3.60&nbsp;per&nbsp;cent and the interest rate on Exchange Settlement balances unchanged at 3.50&nbsp;per&nbsp;cent.

This decision follows a cumulative increase in interest rates of 3½&nbsp;percentage points since May last year. The Board recognises that monetary policy operates with a lag and that the full effect of this substantial increase in interest rates is yet to be felt. The Board took the decision to hold interest rates steady this month to provide additional time to assess the impact of the increase in interest rates to date and the economic outlook.

Global inflation remains very high. In headline terms it is moderating, although services price inflation remains high in many economies. The outlook for the global economy remains subdued, with below-average growth expected this year and next. The recent banking system problems in the United States and Switzerland have resulted in volatility in financial markets and a reassessment of the outlook for global interest rates. These problems are also expected to lead to tighter financial conditions, which would be an additional headwind for the global economy.

The Australian banking system is strong, well capitalised and highly liquid. It is well placed to provide the credit that the economy needs.

A range of information, including the monthly CPI indicator, suggests that inflation has peaked in Australia. Goods price inflation is expected to moderate over the months ahead due to global developments and softer demand in Australia. Meanwhile, rents are increasing at the fastest rate in some years, with vacancy rates low in many parts of the country. The prices of utilities are also rising quickly. The central forecast is for inflation to decline this year and next, to around 3&nbsp;per&nbsp;cent in mid-2025. Medium-term inflation expectations remain well anchored, and it is important that this remains the case.

Growth in the Australian economy has slowed, with growth over the next couple of years expected to be below trend. There is further evidence that the combination of higher interest rates, cost-of-living pressures and a decline in housing prices is leading to a substantial slowing in household spending. While some households have substantial savings buffers, others are experiencing a painful squeeze on their finances.

The labour market remains very tight. The unemployment rate is at a near 50-year low and underemployment is also low. Many firms continue to experience difficulty hiring workers, although some report an easing in labour shortages and the number of vacancies has declined a little. As economic growth slows, unemployment is expected to increase.

Wages growth is continuing to increase in response to the tight labour market and higher inflation. At the aggregate level, wages growth is still consistent with the inflation target, provided that productivity growth picks up. The Board remains alert to the risk of a prices-wages spiral, given the limited spare capacity in the economy and the historically low rate of unemployment. Accordingly, it will continue to pay close attention to both the evolution of labour costs and the price-setting behaviour of firms.

The Board’s priority is to return inflation to target. High inflation makes life difficult for people and damages the functioning of the economy. And if high inflation were to become entrenched in people’s expectations, it would be very costly to reduce later, involving even higher interest rates and a larger rise in unemployment. The Board is seeking to return inflation to the&nbsp;2–3&nbsp;per&nbsp;cent target range while keeping the economy on an even keel, but the path to achieving a soft landing remains a narrow one.

The Board expects that some further tightening of monetary policy may well be needed to ensure that inflation returns to target. The decision to hold interest rates steady this month provides the Board with more time to assess the state of the economy and the outlook, in an environment of considerable uncertainty. In assessing when and how much further interest rates need to increase, the Board will be paying close attention to developments in the global economy, trends in household spending and the outlook for inflation and the labour market. The Board remains resolute in its determination to return inflation to target and will do what is necessary to achieve that.

National developer Goldfields has secured approval for its 24-level Chatswood tower, The Bryson.

The mixed-use tower, which will offer 70 apartments and commercial spaces, is one of the first approved&nbsp;first approved developments under the Chatswood CBD Planning and Urban Design Strategy.

Colliers are already fielding wide-ranging demand, with onsite demolition due to commence April.

Designed by Make Architects to strike a balance between city living and quiet retreat, <a href="/new-apartments/the-bryson-of-chatswood-871-877-pacific-highway-chatswood">The Bryson</a> will incorporate a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, each with open plan living spaces that open to balconies.

CEO of <a href="/developers/goldfields-group">Goldfields</a>, Lachlan Thompson, said approval of The Bryson marked a significant milestone for the increasingly diversified developer and its growing pipeline of projects.

“Sydney’s Lower North Shore has become one of the most sought-after places to live and work in Australia and we see this trend continuing well into the future,” Thompson said.

“We saw an unmissable opportunity to bring high-quality mixed-use residential space to an area that is demanding it.”

Chatswood sits at the commercial and residential heart of Sydney’s Lower North Shore, eight kilometres north of Sydney’s CBD.

The Bryson is situated 400 metres from Chatswood Railway Station and the Westfield Chatswood shopping centre. The Willoughby City Council population forecast for 2023 is 78,783, and is forecast to grow to 87,415 by 2036 – representing 10.96 per cent growth.

Ian Bennett, Director of Residential at Colliers, said the <a href="/new-apartments/chatswood-nsw-2067">Chatswood</a> market was going from strength to strength.

“With the launch of The Bryson, this has been the first time in about five years that an apartment project of this scale and calibre has been brought to the Chatswood market from an off the plan perspective,” Bennett said.

Around 30 per cent of The Bryson sold at launch, equating to $25 million in sales. Bennett said the success was an indication of the strong demand for apartments in the Chatswood market.

He said in the last 18 months, sales activity was driven by downsizers and families purchasing three-bedroom, premium apartment stock as an alternative to increasingly expensive existing residential housing.

But early activity in 2023 has seen one-and two-bedroom apartments proving just as popular, with sales at The Bryson spanning a diverse range of product purchased by a wide range of local buyers including first homebuyers, young executives, downsizers and investors. There has even been early interest from FIRB purchasers.

“At one stage last year, the price gap between existing houses and apartments was over 100 per cent,” Bennett said, suggesting that traditionally that number is around 40 per cent.

"It has probably come back to about a 70 per cent gap this year, but still there is a long way to go for that gap to get back to what we would call normalcy. This shows just how much value for money there is in off-the-plan at the moment compared to existing residential and we are seeing this on the ground in Chatswood.”

Current and prospective buyers were drawn to Chatswood’s close proximity to the CBD and major universities, strong transport connections and growing infrastructure pipeline.

“A lot of the people that we are speaking to are wanting to upgrade, or right-size I guess is more accurate because they’re not of retiree age,” Bennett said.

“These are people who currently live a little further up the train line, up the Pacific Highway in places like Pymble, Turramurra or Lynfield, and they are looking to be more central. Chatswood is almost like a city now, so they see the area as being almost the town centre. The new Metro coming through is seen as a real 
advantage too.”
