Lochiel, the 1858 Hamilton house in Brisbane, has been listed for sale with offers due 13 June.
With views of the city, river and Story Bridge, <a href="https://hjre.com.au/listings/residential-140277-house/" target="_blank">Lochiel is set on a 2,344 square metre holding</a> surrounded by one hundred year old trees.
It is for sale through Gail Havik of Havik &amp; Jackson.
It last traded for $6.4 million in 2006.
It was built for auctioneer Sir John F Buckland, then and now one of Hamilton's largest private landholdings. It dates back to 33 years after Brisbane was first settled, situated in the most prestigious suburb in Queensland, Hamilton Hill.
Buckland had arrived in Brisbane in 1862, born in 1832 at Runnymede, in a farmhouse formerly used as a hunting lodge by King John, and situated immediately opposite the spot where the Magna Carta was signed.
The seven bedroom home has 1500 square metres of living and entertaining space.
There are stunning 20 foot high gold leaf cathedral ceilings. There is a pool and putting green in the grounds.
The horse stables are used for garaging.
Lochiel, initially known as Balmoral House, then as Runnymede, sits close to rocks named Cameron Rocks after the next owners.
<a href="https://www.propertyobserver.com.au/https://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/19392069?searchTerm=S+Cameron" target="_blank">The Cameron's</a> were in residence for 100 years until 1999.

In 2010 the vendors were fined $350,000 for 2007 works undertaken without Queensland Heritage Council approval.
The late Ray Catelan, who founded real estate information service RP Data, was fined $100,000 and his company fined $250,000 after pleading guilty in the Brisbane Magistrates Court to carrying out unauthorised building work.
Developers had tried to knock down the house in the late 1990s but this was opposed by neighbours, the Brisbane City Council and the National Trust.
Its western wing, gatehouse and museum were added in 1906 at a time when museums were a fad in so-called gentlemen's residences. It was filled with shells, birds eggs, native weapons, paintings, glass and china.
The museum wing held the personal and eclectic collection of John Samuel Cameron. It included Aboriginal artefacts, oriental furniture, porcelain painting and sculptures.
An upper storey was added in 1927. 
Lochiel was used as six flats from World War II to 1998.
Former owner Michelle Kleist restored the mansion in 2001 after a battle with the Heritage Council over several issues, including its colour.
She followed heritage directions and later said she was glad she did.
Lochiel is described by heritage architects as highly idiosyncratic.

The Melbourne Cricket Club Foundation has listed two Jolimont heritage homes for 31 May auction.
They have been listed with a $6 million combined expectation.
Bromo, at 28 Jolimont Terrace was built in 1865 for John Bruce, father of former prime minister Stanley Melbourne Bruce, according to the East Melbourne Historical Society, before their move to St Kilda.
It is expected to fetch mid-$2 million.
The two-storey, six-bedroom residence, at 26 Jolimont Terrace with bluestone cellar, has mid-$3 million expectations.

Melbourne Cricket Club Foundation lists two East Melbourne terrace houses

Mirka, a six-floor apartment block at St Kilda due for completion next year, will take its name from the octogenarian artist, Mirka Mora.
Some 25 of the 56 apartments have sold with prices ranging from $375,000 for one bedrooms to $695,000 for two bedroom two bathroom apartments.
<a href="https://www.mirkaapartments.com.au/enter.php" target="_blank">The Inkerman street block</a> has been designed by architect Ivan Turcinov, of Carabott Holt Turcinov. It will replace the 1970s three storey Barkly House office block.
There will be a mix of timber, glass, metal, concrete and bluestone. 
Mirka currently has major exhibitions of her works at the Heide Museum of Modern Art in Melbourne and Manning Clark House in Canberra.
There's already been a street named in her honour and a restaurant.
Mirka Mora was born in Paris in 1928 making Melbourne her home in 1951. Mirka Cafe in Exhibition Street opened in 1954, with one of the city's first Gaggia espresso machines and defying then council by-laws by putting tables and chairs on the sidewalk and pushed for the right to serve wine.
In 1964, French emigres Georges and Mirka Mora opened Tolarno in St Kilda, which became a haunt of writers, painters, politicians, sports stars and the fiercely loyal St Kilda community.
"Giving entry to the property market, becoming part of a portfolio for a seasoned investor or providing a unique home to a couple or family, these St Kilda, Melbourne apartments won't last for long," Look Property Group selling agents Paul Raimondo and Michael Robinson suggest.

St Kilda apartment block to honour living legend Mirka Mora

The Finniss River Vineyard in the Fleurieu region in South Australia has been listed for sale through CBRE agent Phil Schell, in conjunction with fellow agent Chris Holgar.
The Hickinbotham family who established it in 1999 are the vendors of the vineyard located 45 kilometres south-east of McLaren Vale.
Offers are due 11 July.
Its wine grapes produce Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varieties.
The vineyard produces wine under the Paringa and Finniss River labels.
It also supplies grapes to Orlando Wines in a 17-year agreement.

David Hickinbotham has described the decision to sell the 135 hectare property as bittersweet.
The property comprises 65.37 hectares of grape vines, 5.33 hectares of vacant vineyard with trellis and irrigation infrastructure in place, along with an additional 23.32 hectares of land ready for new vines to be planted.
The vineyard has capacity of 94 hectares, producing 1,000 tonnes of fruit annually.
The Paringa wine label has twice featured in the James Halliday Wine Spectator's highly regarded Top 100 wines list.
The Hickinbotham family has developed the property with a low maintenance structure that requires only two people to run 65 hectares of vines.
“Properties with scale and ease of management such as the Finniss River Vineyard – and the associated Paringa and Finniss River wine brands – will be the future of the viticulture industry in Australia.” he said.
The property comes with a five-bedroom home with tennis court and pool.
The Hickinbotham family, whose involvement dates backs around eighty years in the industry, had three vineyards for many years.

The Paringa vineyard, comprising 690 hectares, ranked as one of the largest private vineyards in Australia. 
The Hickinbotham family began exporting wines over 35 years ago with their wines sold by the glass in restaurants in America, including Chartreuse in New York, Citrus in Los Angeles and Aureole in Las Vegas.
Three generations of the Hickinbotham family have been involved with quality vines, grapes and wine since the Oenology Course was established at Roseworthy Agricultural College by Alan Robb Hickinbotham in 1932.
The Hickinbotham Roseworthy Wine Science Laboratory was built at the University of Adelaide's Waite campus in 1998, in honour of Alan Robb Hickinbotham's contribution to the Australian wine industry.

Finniss River Vineyard listed by pioneering Hickinbotham family

The Tea Gardens Hotel in Bondi Junction has been sold, reportedly for around $37 million to a private investor.
The pub was sold by Melbourne-based publicans Aussie Leisure Group, brokered by<a href="https://www.raywhite.com/nsw/bondi-junction/1129055/" target="_blank"> Ray White Hotels agent Andrew Jolliffe</a>.
It is set over two levels on its 800 square metre 2-4 Bronte Road with outdoor areas, a highly sought after balcony, large kitchen and 30 gaming machines.
‘‘The annual profit delivered regularly by the Tea Gardens puts it firmly in the A-Grade asset class, irrespective of category, and means that it enjoys similar status to the Coogee Bay Hotel, the Golden Sheaf in Double Bay, the Newport Arms and the recently traded Steyne in Manly and Watsons Bay hotels,’’ Jolliffe advised potential buyers.
Adjacent to Westfields and Myers in Bondi Junction, the heritage listed Tea Gardens hotel is considered a prime asset.
‘‘The latest quarterly Top 200 gaming rankings highlight the hotel’s sizeable jump from 121 in September 2013 to 88 in the state of NSW for the December 2013 quarter,’’ Mr Jolliffe added.
In colonial times, Bondi Junction was known just for its The Waverley Tea Gardens Inn. The hotel was laid out with gardens, summer houses, quoit pitches and other games and was known as "a favourite resort for afternoon teas and fun".
It was served by horse-drawn omnibuses from the city and was "a rendezvous for young people to spend their Saturdays and Sundays".
Its art deco features in the replacement pub were restored in the late 1990s by publican Peter Padsworth. After spending more than $1.5 million, business increased five-fold following the renovations.
Aussie Leisure bought the hotel in mid-2006 for $44.75 million. It had previously sold at $7.5 million in 1998. In 1990 Tooth &amp; Co Ltd sold it to Yau Sun Nominees Pty Ltd for $5 million.

It was sold recently to academic, professor of sleep medicine Ron Grunstein, and his wife, Rose through<a href="https://doublebay.ljhooker.com.au/M15F93" target="_blank"> LJ Hooker Double Bay</a>.
The Ocean Street property, which had traces of being renovated by architect Professor Leslie Wilkinson in the 1950s, last traded in late 2002 for $5.82 million.
It was sold back then by the real estate chain chairman Brian White and his wife, Rosemary in 2002.

Jon Aisbitt, the London-based former Goldman Sachs Australia boss, sits in equal last place on the latest Sunday Times Richest 1000 list. 
His net worth was down £40 million.
Aisbtt was in equal 989th place this year with an £85 million worth.
Aisbitt was in 631st place last year. The list, now in its 26th year, was released on Sunday.
Aisbitt, 57, made £50 million from Goldman Sachs' 1999 float, and £15 million from share sales until he left the merchant bank in 2002.
It was also 2002 when the London-bound departing Goldman Sachs co-chairman, Jon Aisbitt, and his wife, Julie, secured $13.5 million for their Wunulla Road house, Point Piper harbour front house.
It was renovated after its $9.6 million sale in 1999 by the architect Luigi Rosselli. The house was built for the Rose family in the early 1960s by architect Adrian Snodgrass, who was influenced by the Wrightian style of the Sydney School of Architecture.
Aisbitt, ranked 368 in The Sunday Times' 2002 Rich List with a £98 million net worth.
The Sunday Times doesn't explain the drop in his net worth, but says Aisbitt's investments in Ocean Rig, the deepwater drilling operator, and broker Redburn Partners netted him £55 million.
 He has a £1.8 million holding in the Man hedge fund business that he chairs. 
In this role, Aisbitt oversees the operation's own charitable arm, the Man Group plc Charitable Trust which supports disadvantaged children through community projects, literacy and numeracy support and university scholarships, as well as supporting causes tackling domestic violence, homelessness, mental health and the environment. 
Last year, it gave £1.85m and received another £1.115m in donations and other income for future spending. 
Back in 1999 I wrote the $10 billion Goldman Sachs employee goodwill bonus - given when the company listed on the New York stock exchange in April 1999 - had been a goldmine for Point Piperites, the Goldman co-chairman Jon Aisbitt having only recently arrived, temporarily drawing the drapes at his Wiversfield, Sussex, residence, Launces Hall Church.
Aisbitt bought in Point Piper right opposite his short-lived Goldman co-chairman Malcolm Turnbull, whose Australian outfit had then reported a 70% jump in its annual operating revenue to $15.2 million.
Title Tattle recalls proximity to Goldman co-chairman Malcolm Turnbull's mansion, Le Gai Soleil hadn't been a priority, given co-chairmanship inevitably is a role that can lead to the odd tension.

Jon Aisbitt almost drops off latest Sunday Times Richest 1000 list

Seumas Dawes, the London-based Australian merchant banker, sits in equal 739th place with a £124 million net worth on the latest Sunday Times Richest 1000 list. His net worth was up £34 million.
Dawes was in 859th place last year and 821st in the 2012 list. The list, now in its 26th year, was released on Sunday.
Dawes, currently the chairman of the investment committee at Pepper Investment Management, has been the long time senior funds manager at Ashmore, and before that at Paribas and ANX Investment.
It was previously reported that Dawes, 56, sold £17 million of Ashmore shares and retained a stake worth £75 million in 2006.
Dawes has also held a number of positions in the Australian public sector including three years as a senior advisor to Paul Keating, the then treasurer of Australia.
Last month, the non-bank lender Pepper raised the equivalent of $500 million through the sale of non-conforming residential mortgage-backed bonds, the largest deal of its kind since the financial crisis. Non-conforming loans are the Australian equivalent of sub-prime loans.
The Australian Financial Review reported that Pepper paid just 1.10 percentage points over the bank rate for the $136 million of AAA-rated A1 notes and 0.35 of a percentage point above the London interbank offered rate to place $US200 million of short-term notes with US and European money investors. Seven international and 14 domestic investors bought the bonds with low levels of Australian defaults supporting the sale of residential mortgage backed securities.
<a href="/news/a-cut-above-the-rest-the-era-of-sydney-mega-mansions-far-from-over-title-tattle">Property Observer reported in February last year</a> that Dawes had poured some of his net worth into a serious Bronte acquisition.
The funds manager and his wife Rosemary initially spent $12.3 million for a large, modern three-storey residence in 2006.
Unquestionably one of the most expensive coastal suburbs in Sydney's east, the <a href="/developments/bronte-nsw-2024">Bronte </a>property sits along the exclusive strip known as The Cutting.

AURA elevates amenity living at Melbourne Square

Builder-developer Scion is the latest to target Sydney's booming Hills Showground Metro precinct, filing plans for more than 100 apartments within walking distance of the station.

Scion has lodged a concurrent rezoning and State Significant Development Application for <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/27-33-middleton-avenue-castle-hill-nsw-2154">27–33 Middleton Avenue</a>, where it plans to replace four existing homes with an 11 and 14-storey mixed-use development comprising 109 apartments, six affordable housing dwellings, and a ground-floor café.

Designed by BHK Architects, the proposal includes three levels of basement parking with 174 spaces, more than 1,200 sqm of communal open space, and extensive landscaping across the 3,791 sqm site.

The development has been designed as two buildings connected by a recessed wintergarden spine, with the 14-storey building positioned to the south and the 11-storey building to the north.

The apartment mix has been weighted towards owner-occupiers, with 13 one-bedroom apartments, 55 two-bedroom residences, 31 three-bedroom apartments, six three-bedroom lofts, and four four-bedroom homes. Six apartments will be dedicated as affordable housing in line with the NSW Housing SEPP.

According to the Architectural Design Report by BKH, the proposal seeks to create "a place-responsive architecture" inspired by the natural landscape surrounding Cattai Creek, while strengthening the public domain through landscaping, active frontages and a neighbourhood café.

Atlas Urban, in its Urban Design Report, says the proposal takes a different approach to increasing density around Hills Showground Station by favouring a more slender, vertically articulated built form over a conventional mid-rise outcome. The report argues this allows for greater deep soil planting, improved solar access and a better public domain outcome, while still delivering additional housing close to rapid public transport.

The site sits around 500 metres from Hills Showground Metro Station, within a precinct earmarked for significant residential intensification following the opening of the Sydney Metro Northwest line. Planning documents accompanying the application note that Greater Sydney's population has grown by more than one million people since planning for the precinct first began, reinforcing the need to accelerate housing delivery around existing transport infrastructure.

Scion is expanding its development pipeline which also includes <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/chatham-west-ryde-2-6-chatham-road-west-ryde-nsw-2114">Chatham in West Ryde</a>, 62 apartments which are approaching completion. They also have a State Significant Development Application with the NSW Government's Housing Delivery Authority for <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/96-anzac-avenue-west-ryde-nsw-2114">145 apartments on Anzac Avenue</a>, also in West Ryde.
