It’s been 15 long years since the former Balmain Leagues Club was open to the public. The large 7,330 sqm Victoria Road site had grown progressively more derelict since the doors to the former club shut back in 2010.

The Lake Macquarie Trinity Point residential development received two awards at the weekend Asia Pacific Property Awards 2017-2018.
The project won awards in two categories - leisure architecture and hotel architecture.
This year's award was the largest in its history, with over 820 entries across all categories.

Lake Macquarie's Trinity Point already winning awards

To celebrate International Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the Children’s Cancer Institute, PRDnationwide Newcastle &amp; Lake Macquarie, McDonald Jones Homes and McCloy Group have joined forces to undertake an extraordinary challenge; building a house in 21 days!
Work began on 29 August, 2016 at Billy’s Lookout, Teralba, Lake Macquarie NSW to build the 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom luxurious Portsea One home by McDonald Jones Homes.
The architecturally designed home has been built on 600 sq m of land donated by McCloy Group using materials and labour gifted by many generous partners, including Austral Bricks.
Scott Cam of The Block revealed the completed home, fully furnished by Freedom, with all kitchen and laundry appliances provided by Electrolux and home entertainment by Panasonic.
It will be auctioned October 23, 2016 the home through PRDnationwide Newcastle and Lake Macquarie by leading auctioneer, Damien Cooley.
100 percent of proceeds from the sale of the home will go to the Children’s Cancer Institute to fund medical research.

Build for a cancer cure home up for auction at Teralba

The Swansea Hotel in NSW’s Lake Macquarie region has sold for around $13 million to Laundy Hotels – the largest private hotel owner in the country.
The Swansea Hotel is located at the gateway to Lake Macquarie.
It is situated on a large 3,235sqm site, two hours from Sydney and 30 minutes from Newcastle.

The hotel was fully renovated in 2015 (image above before its renovation).
It was sold through CBRE with 30 poker machines by the Bernie family.
The Laundy's are the largest private hotel owner in the country and own venues such as the Watsons Bay Hotel and the Woolwich Pier Hotel.

Housing market performance across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie is currently mixed, according to CoreLogic's latest regional report.
On one hand, median values are increasing, up 8.9 percent for houses and 5.6 percent for units over the 12 month period ending June 2016.

Despite less sales activity across the market, homes are selling faster than they were one year ago, with houses typically transacting 61 days after first being advertised for sale, compared to 65 days one year ago and units moving from 61 days last year to an average of 59 days currently.
