IPM secure approval for Coogee apartments

The privately owned development and investment group will add to their already impressive portfolio which includes in excess of $2.5 billion worth of real estate projects

The Sydney-based IPM has secured approval for their new Coogee project.

Randwick Council gave the green light to IPM to create a three-level, 20-apartment building at 201-207 Carrington Road, halfway between Coogee Beach and Randwick.

The privately owned development and investment group will add to their already impressive portfolio which includes in excess of $2.5 billion worth of real estate projects. 

There will be a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments in the block across the 2268 sqm site, which currently homes four single dwellings.

Paul Buljevic Design (PBD) designed the building, which will connect to its surrounding context through landscaping and a three-pod approach, allowing for full breaks between buildings, as well as giving relief to the bulk of the built form. 

"The interplay of planes and introduction of finer vertical grains to the front facade breaks down the bulk further, along with creating a defined entry point to the building," the design statement read.

Each apartment is orientated toward the north, enhancing cross flow ventilation, solar access, and views. 

"The design of the proposal responds to the current market demands, in relation to typologies and living patterns currently established in the local area, with apartments generously sized, following an open-plan layout, that maximises the use of the north-facing layout," the statement noted.

IPM has made themselves at home amongst the affluent suburbs over the years, with a portfolio featuring some of the most sought-after addresses. 

Developing in some of Sydney's best beachside pockets, the group has taken up a number of projects from Sydney's east to as far north as Palm Beach.

Their latest is in Mona Vale, in the heart of the Mona Vale Town Centre on the Northern Beaches. They'll be delivering apartments above retail at 19 Bungan Street. Their Palm Beach project on Barrenjoey Road will comprise just eight apartments, each with panoramic views across the waters of Pittwater.

The group will also build on a Newport site at 11-17 Ocean Avenue which will home "coastal-inspired residences."
