Brisbane-based developer <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/trk-property-group">TRK Property Group</a>&nbsp;has enlisted renowned architecture firm Koichi Takada Architects to design its latest new apartment development.

The new 34-storey tower at <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/57-berwick-street-fortitude-valley-qld-4006">57 Berwick Street, Fortitude Valley</a>,&nbsp;will have 189 apartments, complete with interiors by <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/architects/byculprit">byCULPRIT</a>. The upper levels&nbsp;capturing views across the Story Bridge, city skyline, ranges, bay and river.

Residents will have access to a rooftop amenity floor with facilities including a pool, spa, sauna, hot and cold treatment, meditation garden, gym, yoga studio, private dining, BBQ, games lounge, wine display wall, work library, meeting rooms and outdoor work areas.

TRK proposes Koichi Takada-designed apartment development in Fortitude Valley

Perth development giant Finbar Group has completed its acquisition of the prominent 236 Railway Parade site in West Leederville, a year after first flagging plans for the transit-oriented development that will become its next major apartment project in Perth's inner west.

The ASX-listed apartment developer has secured the 4,997 sqm mixed use-zoned landholding opposite West Leederville Train Station for around $15 million, paving the way for the proposed Rosslyn Quarter development. The project is expected to deliver <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/236-railway-parade-west-leederville-wa-6007">around 240 apartments across two towers</a>, alongside ground-floor commercial space.

The acquisition effectively concludes a process that began in mid-2025 when Finbar announced it had entered into a contract to purchase the site, subject to development approval and the finalisation of planning settings under the West Leederville Precinct Structure Plan. At that time, the company outlined plans for a pair of 18-storey towers with an estimated end value of around $200 million.

The site sits within the emerging Rosslyn Quarter precinct, approximately two kilometres from the Perth CBD and directly opposite the West Leederville Train Station. The location also places future residents within walking distance of the West Leederville Shopping Centre, Leederville's hospitality strip, and the neighbouring Subiaco activity centre.

Finbar CEO Ronald Chan said the acquisition builds on the developer's previous experience in the suburb, where it delivered the Motive Apartments project in 2017.

"We have previously enjoyed great success in developing in the West Leederville area given its excellent existing amenity and close proximity to the CBD, Leederville, Subiaco, and the West Leederville train station," Chan said.

He said the scale of the site would allow Finbar to deliver a well-located apartment project while strengthening its long-term development pipeline.

"The substantial scale of this site, with proposed potential for two eighteen-storey towers, will allow the Company to obtain scale benefits which will underpin the delivery of a medium-cost, well-located project," Chan said. "Importantly, this acquisition diversifies and strengthens our long-term development pipeline across metropolitan Perth, enabling us to time our product delivery strategically in line with market conditions."

According to Sterling Property, which brokered the transaction, the site was one of the most significant development opportunities to come to market in Perth's western suburbs in recent years.

Sterling Property Managing Director Brian Neo said opportunities of this scale in established inner-city locations remain tightly held.

"Sites of this scale and calibre, directly opposite a train station and within two kilometres of the CBD, are rarely offered to the market. When they are, they attract serious capital," Neo said.

The acquisition comes as Perth's apartment market continues to contend with limited development-ready sites in established suburbs, particularly those benefiting from both existing transport infrastructure and supportive planning frameworks.

With the West Leederville Precinct Structure Plan now adopted, Finbar can move forward with design development and the development approval process for what is expected to become one of the largest new apartment projects proposed in the suburb.

For decades, the Gold Coast has been viewed through the lens of tourism, lifestyle and population growth. The latest State of the City Report suggests that perception is increasingly out of step with reality.

Released by Invest Gold Coast, the report ranks the Gold Coast as Australia's largest non-capital city economy and, perhaps more notably, second nationally behind Sydney for Economic Complexity, a measure that assesses the diversity and sophistication of an economy.

It's a result that places the Gold Coast ahead of Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide, highlighting the extent to which the city's economic base has broadened beyond its traditional industries.

Today, the Gold Coast supports more than 350,000 jobs, is home to over 83,000 businesses and generates $19 billion in annual exports. Manufacturing now accounts for 62 per cent of international export growth, while sectors including health, education, advanced manufacturing, technology and professional services are becoming increasingly important contributors to the local economy.

Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate said the report confirmed the city's evolution into one of Australia's most significant economies.

"The Gold Coast economy continues to grow at an incredible pace. This is no surprise to those of us who have watched the evolution up close," Mayor Tate said.

While population growth has been one of the defining stories of the past decade, the report points to a broader economic transformation taking place.

The city's knowledge economy now contributes $7.9 billion annually and supports around 31,000 jobs, while the health and wellbeing sector contributes $5.2 billion and employs more than 42,000 people. Together, the six priority sectors identified in the report account for almost $24 billion in economic output and more than 145,000 jobs.

One of the strongest examples is the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct at Southport. The 200-hectare precinct now contains more than $5 billion worth of health, education, research and innovation infrastructure and supports over 16,000 jobs.

The report also highlights the growing role of advanced manufacturing, particularly in aerospace, defence and modular construction.

Gold Coast-based Gilmour Space Technologies recently became the first Australian commercial company to attempt an orbital launch, while companies including Modscape and ModnPods are helping establish the Yatala-Stapylton corridor as one of Australia's fastest-growing advanced manufacturing hubs.

The city's entrepreneurial culture is also translating into business growth.

Since 2019/20, the number of businesses operating on the Gold Coast has increased by 22 per cent, while firms employing more than 200 people have grown by 80 per cent. The report suggests the next challenge is converting more local start-ups and medium-sized businesses into nationally significant companies.

Development activity remains another key indicator of confidence.

There are currently more than $23 billion worth of major projects underway across the Gold Coast, supported by a record 75 active cranes, a figure that now exceeds Brisbane and represents a 150 per cent increase since 2016.

Importantly, the report notes the next phase of investment will need to extend beyond residential development.

While 93 per cent of crane activity is currently tied to housing, Invest Gold Coast argues future investment will increasingly need to focus on cultural, civic, infrastructure and industry-enabling projects that strengthen the city's long-term economic resilience.

Invest Gold Coast Chair Will Hodgman said the city was now benefiting from years of economic diversification.

"What is happening on the Gold Coast is the result of the city's economic base broadening, fuelled by industries with long-term, high-growth potential," Mr Hodgman said.

"This is no longer a secondary Australian economy, the Gold Coast is becoming a globally connected city with deeper capability across health, knowledge and creative industries, advanced manufacturing, technology and exports."

Buyers rush to Homecorp's Florence Residences as Gold Coast wellness trend gains momentum

The NSW Government has expanded its $1 billion Pre-sale Finance Guarantee program, broadening access for affordable housing providers and smaller residential developments as it seeks to accelerate housing delivery across the state.

The Minns Government says the program has already helped bring forward more than 600 homes across Sydney and regional NSW since launching in September 2025, with similar models now adopted in South Australia and Western Australia.

The latest changes, announced by Treasurer Daniel Mookhey and Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully, are designed to improve access to finance for projects that have planning approval but are struggling to secure funding.

Among the key changes is an expansion of support for community housing providers. The program will now support up to 100 per cent affordable housing projects valued at up to $30 million when delivered by not-for-profit providers, while support for larger affordable housing developments will increase for projects worth up to $80 million.

The government says the changes will help accelerate the delivery of housing for low-income workers, older people, people living with disability, and those at risk of homelessness, while reducing reliance on direct grants or subsidised loans to bridge funding gaps.

The eligibility criteria for smaller residential developments have also been broadened. The previous $5 million minimum project value threshold has been removed and replaced with a requirement that projects deliver at least four homes.

Support has also increased for projects delivering fewer than 20 homes, with the guarantee now able to cover up to 75 per cent of dwellings in a development, capped at $30 million per project.

The changes are expected to particularly benefit smaller-scale and regional developments, which often face greater challenges meeting pre-sale requirements imposed by lenders.

Treasurer Daniel Mookhey said the scheme demonstrates how government can use its balance sheet to stimulate housing supply without relying solely on taxpayer-funded grants.

"The Pre-sale Finance Guarantee shows how this Government is using its balance sheet to reduce risk and unlock private investment, enabling new homes to move from design to construction faster," Mookhey said.

"This landmark reform allows us to deliver homes for working families at a lower cost to taxpayers, while also maintaining strong financial discipline."

Planning Minister Paul Scully said the program had already proven effective in bringing stalled projects to market.

"The Pre-sale Finance Guarantee has already proven it can unlock stalled projects and accelerate housing delivery by giving lenders the confidence they need to back good developments," Scully said.

"These changes will allow more affordable housing and smaller developments to access support so more homes can be built faster where communities need them most."

Housing Minister Rose Jackson said the expansion would help community housing providers overcome financing barriers that often delay projects.

"We know community housing providers are ready to build more homes, too often they're held back by barriers to finance," Jackson said.

"Expanding the Pre-sale Finance Guarantee helps remove those barriers so more affordable homes can get off the ground sooner."

The announcement was welcomed by the Property Council of Australia, which has long advocated for measures aimed at improving project feasibility and access to finance.

Property Council NSW Executive Director Katie Stevenson described the expansion as a practical intervention that addresses one of the most immediate constraints on housing delivery.

"This is exactly the kind of practical intervention we need right now, focused on getting projects out of the ground, not just approved," Stevenson said.

"It builds on a model the Property Council has worked closely with government to develop following calls for such a scheme ahead of last year's NSW Budget, so it's great to see it being expanded."

Stevenson said the reforms would help unlock projects that are ready to proceed but have been delayed by financing challenges. However, she noted that broader feasibility issues remain a significant barrier to increasing housing supply.

"The biggest challenge in NSW housing today is delivery. Too many projects have planning approval but are simply not financially viable to proceed under current settings," she said.

Speaking at the Property Council's NSW Housing Summit, Housing Minister Rose Jackson acknowledged that feasibility and financing pressures continue to constrain housing delivery, while reaffirming the government's commitment to work with industry on solutions.

Stevenson said the government's recognition of those challenges was encouraging ahead of next week's state budget.

"It's positive to see the government clearly recognising that feasibility pressures are now a binding constraint on supply," she said.

"With the Budget just days away, the focus must be on backing delivery, making sure projects stack up, finance can flow, and more homes can move from approval to construction."

The expanded Pre-sale Finance Guarantee forms part of the NSW Government's broader housing agenda, which also includes planning reforms, the NSW Housing Pattern Book, and a series of rezonings intended to increase housing capacity across the state.

Sydney’s property market is known for high prices, competitive bidding, and mounting pressure on first home buyers. But change is on the horizon.

From late 2025, eligible first home buyers in New South Wales will have access to a new federal government initiative aimed at addressing affordability: the Help to Buy Scheme.&nbsp;

<h2>What is the Help to Buy Scheme?</h2>

The program introduces a shared equity model intended to reduce the upfront cost of entering the property market, particularly in high-demand urban areas such as Sydney.

The scheme operates under a shared ownership structure in which the federal government takes an equity stake of up to 40 per cent for new homes, or 30 per cent for existing dwellings. This arrangement allows eligible buyers to significantly reduce their loan size and avoid the added cost of Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI).

Under this model, purchasers can enter the property market with as little as a two per cent deposit, well below the traditional 10 to 20 per cent usually required. The government’s contribution is not a loan but a co-ownership stake in the property. As such, there is no interest or rent charged on its portion.

Because the government’s equity combined with the buyer’s deposit typically meets or exceeds the 20 per cent threshold, LMI does not apply. The remaining balance, generally between 60 and 70 per cent of the property’s value, is financed through a standard home loan with a participating lender.

The government's equity in the property remains in place until the buyer chooses to repay it voluntarily or until the property is sold. Buyers can buy back the government’s share over time, in increments of at least five per cent, depending on their financial situation.

There is no fixed repayment timeline, but the amount to be repaid will be based on the property's market value at the time of repayment, not the original purchase price.

<h2>How do you qualify for the&nbsp;Help to Buy Scheme?</h2>

To qualify for the Help to Buy Scheme, applicants must meet the following conditions:

Are mortgage holders set to get a reprieve from the RBA in 2026?

Big Four bank NAB believes so. They are now expecting the next move from the RBA to be a cut, rather than a hike, which they had pencilled in for August. They are unsure of the timing of the cut however, they note in their latest&nbsp;NAB Economics RBA Watch.

NAB Chief Economist, Dr Sally Auld, said recent data suggests the economy has lost momentum and the outlook for rates has shifted, noting that the broader economic backdrop has changed since earlier in the year.

“The next move in the cash rate is likely to be down, but the timing is uncertain," Dr Auld said.

"In February, growth was above trend, the economy was operating above capacity and there was uncertainty over the restrictiveness of rates. None of these conditions exist today,” she outlined.

Dr Auld said recent data pointed to softer momentum across the economy while acknowledging that at the same time, uncertainty remains a key feature of the outlook.

“Both Q1 GDP data and the NAB business survey suggest momentum in the economy has slowed, meaning that growth has likely peaked for the cycle. That said, we are cognisant there is still considerable uncertainty around the outlook, both with respect to activity and inflation.”

Dr Auld said inflation risks and labour market outcomes would be important to watch.

“On the prices side, we are still forecasting above target core inflation through to mid-2027. Margins will compress and weaker labour market outcomes are a risk.”

She said tighter financial conditions are expected to weigh on housing and activity.

“Tighter financial conditions will be reflected in a slowing in house price growth and housing credit growth. In summary, we have greater conviction that the next move in rates is down, but less conviction on the timing.”

Mortgage relief? NAB forecasts RBA rate cut, not hike, after softer economic conditions

Over the last 5 years, yields have dropped by 0.42%, from 3.06% in 2012 to 2.64% in 2017, according to Secret Agent’s latest bulletin.
“During this period, median house prices have increased by 38% (9% p.a.), compared to only an 11.8% increase in weekly rents (2.88% p.a.).
“On average, median weekly rents are between $500 and $700 for most suburbs.
“Sale prices tend to fluctuate significantly according to suburb.
“Suburbs with lower median prices tend to have higher yields, as weekly rent is mostly consistent across all regions,” the bulletin stated.
Secret Agent stated that high and low yields are not concentrated in any particular region of inner Melbourne.
“Collingwood, Cremorne and West Melbourne had the highest median yields in 2016/17 at 3.69%, 3.32% and 3.26%, respectively.
“Median prices were well below the $1 million mark.
“Burnley, East Melbourne and Alphington had the lowest median yields at 1.35%, 2.07% and 2.31%, respectively.
“Median prices were all above $1.3million.
“Sale price is strongly, negatively correlated with yield (-47%),” the bulletin commented.
Yield is more dependent on purchase price rather than rental income according to Secret Agent.
“Yields are even lower for larger properties, as sale price increases faster than median rent.
“In 2017, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes can expect to yield 2.72%, 2.61% and 2.52%, respectively.
“All three types have had the lowest yields since 2012.
Investors paying high prices for properties are even more reliant on capital growth to increase their returns,” the bulletin stated.

Melbourne rental yields drop while median prices rise

Clare sits as second fastest median house price mover in South Australia: Investar

The apartment market for Inner City Melbourne has started to soften in the first quarter of 2017, according to Herron Todd White’s latest report.
The property valuation firm says that most inner city suburb median unit prices have dropped in the last quarter.
“According to REIV reports, most inner city suburbs have seen drops in median unit prices since last quarter, with Docklands median unit prices falling by 2.3%, Southbank experiencing a 1.8% drop and South Yarra seeing a 0.7% decline.
“There is growing concern regarding the oversupply of inner city apartments which has been well documented by the media in addition to being recognised by the Reserve Bank of Australia who have issued warnings that current high levels of supply may constrain growth in prices and rents in some market segments.
“It is anticipated that the recent implementation of tighter lending policies on both foreign purchasers and investors will cause the apartment market to further soften in addition to increasing settlement risk for developers,” the report stated.
Herron Todd White says that the prestige market in Melbourne is still going strong.
“The current state of the prestige market is still strong.
“The demand for property is outweighing the supply of properties for sale.
“The most in-demand properties are those with large land holdings or properties that can be redeveloped or knocked down without any planning restrictions.
“Other key factors are the continuing low interest rate environment, proximity to the CBD and population growth,” the report advised.
Kew, Balwyn North and Malvern are among the top suburbs for prestige properties according to Herron Todd White.
“The strong prestige market is highlighted in suburbs such as Kew, Balwyn North and Malvern.
“As of March 2017, the median house prices for these suburbs were $2.165 million, $1.925 million and $3.01 million respectively, with a quarterly change of 11%, 11.2% and 24.6%.

“The Baw Baw, South Gippsland and Cardinia markets are strengthening.
“This includes cities and towns such as Warragul, Drouin, Nyora, Lang Lang and Koo Wee Rup.
“Regions such as Morwell and Heyfield have recently had negative press regarding the forthcoming closure of Hazelwood Power Station and Heyfield Timber Mill.
“It will be interesting to see how the market responds.
“Sale has recently had some higher end sales in the $700,000 to $1 million range with increased buyer interest in prestige properties,” the report stated.

Mildura’s housing market has seen modest growth according to Herron Todd White.
“Despite the housing market being active, very modest growth has been seen in housing prices over the past 18 months.
“Houses and units are selling after relatively short selling periods of usually less than 30 days and Mildura’s local economy appears to have strengthened over this period.
“Despite this, it seems there is not quite enough competition amongst buyers to see any significant capital gains.
“The missing ingredient seems to be population growth.
“The latest statistics indicate that Mildura’s population is growing at just under 1% per annum and while this is enough to maintain momentum, it is not flowing through to any substantial price growth,” the report commented.
Herron Todd White says that lifestyle factors influence the growth of the area.
“Employment and lifestyle factors are the things which will influence population growth outlook.
“On the employment front, there is ongoing optimism in key agricultural industries and this is likely to create opportunities in farm work, transport and logistics, agronomic services and some downstream processing.
“However growth in tourism, retail or mining would be needed to see the growth in jobs required to bring significant numbers of families to the region.
“What is clear is that Mildura has enough size and economic diversity to weather any economic downturns reasonably well,” the report advised.
Older residents are beginning to move to Mildura and that is expected to rise Herron Todd White says.
“The migration of older people from surrounding towns and regions choosing to retire to Mildura is expected to continue.
“For this sector, it is lifestyle and availability of medical services along with affordability of housing that will influence their choice.
“Mildura appears to stack up well in this regard,” the report advised.

Gippsland and Mildura residential market grows stronger: HTW

Lateral Properties have finalised the construction of its residential development Teviot Downs, an acreage estate in Greenbank, Queensland.
Built over a decade, this last release completes the 1200 lot community. 
Lateral Properties bought the partially developed 900ha Greenbank site in 2002.
It started selling blocks in July 2003. The estate has been sold over 34 stages, with the last remaining stage selling now.  
The final stage features a total of 47 lots ranging in size from 2,500sqm to 7,000sqm which are selling from $285,000 to $500,000. Over 30 per cent of the stage has already been sold.
“This is the last chance you will get to build a new home in one of Australia’s great acreage estates only 40 minutes to the Brisbane CBD,” commented Clinton Trezise, associate director of residential at Colliers International.
“The introduction of the SEQ Regional Plan in 2005 restricted the further release of acreage homesites, so these types of communities close to Brisbane will soon be a thing of the past,” he said.
Land values at Teviot Downs have recorded strong growth with an average of 10 per cent annual price growth over the last 10 years, due to the scarcity of acreage estates within the greater Brisbane region. 
“In recent years 10 per cent of the sales have been to existing residents of Teviot Downs who are upgrading their homes and re-purchasing in the estate. This is a huge testament to the quality of the development and the friendly established community it is,” Trezise added.
According to Trezise, the majority of buyers in the estate have been 3rd or 4th homeowner occupiers that live within the 10km radius, and are moving from densely populated, growing urban centres for a bigger house and more open space.
In 2005, the project was awarded Queensland’s UDIA Award of Excellence for the Best Parkland Residential Estate.
He noted due to the scarcity of acreage land, this award no longer exists, leaving Teviot Downs as the final recipient.

Teviot Downs development final release

The Southern Highlands market continues to show strong price growth, according to Herron Todd White’s latest April report.
The property valuation firm says that the average price across the Wingecarribee Shire increased by 8% in the four months to date to $879,000.
“Of note is the brisk rate of sale in the up to $1.5 million sector, most notably located close to the townships of Bowral, Moss Vale and Mittagong,” the report stated.
Herron Todd White says that the market continues to benefit from the ripple effect predominantly by greater Sydney buyers looking for affordability and lifestyle.
“New land releases in the region have seen an influx of purchasers ranging from first home owners to executive home buyers at price points from $300,000 to $800,000 and land sizes from 450 to 8,000 square metres.
"What is also evident with the influx of new land releases is the pressure to upgrade transport infrastructure in the region, with calls for additional direct trains to Central Station, road upgrades and the larger infrastructure projects such as the Sydney to Melbourne Fast Train gaining momentum.
"Major projects to accommodate the growing area is occurring," the report commented.
Wilton Junction has been marked as a priority growth area with more residential development expected Herron Todd White says.
“With respect to accommodating additional residents in the region, the recent announcement by the NSW Department of Planning that Wilton Junction has been designated as a priority growth area has brought the reality of the new township to accommodate up to 16,500 dwellings across the 4,175 hectare site located off the M5 East Freeway a step closer.
"Other areas earmarked for residential development include Tahmoor and Appin.
"Closer in to the existing townships of Mittagong, Bowral and Moss Vale it is anticipated there will be limited releases of land predominantly restricted to resubdivision of appropriately zoned larger lots,” the report remarked.
"Being one of the regions to receive the NBN early has seen the emergence of commercial office developments in the past 12 months," the report stated.
The NBN is also helping the area with commercial office developments expected over the coming months.
“Being one of the regions in New South Wales to get early access to the NBN, there has been an emergence of commercial serviced office developments over the past 12 months, allowing for professional services personnel to have the flexibility of working locally and efficiently, an attractive alternative to the daily Sydney commute,” the report stated.
Herron Todd White says that there has been emerging chatter about the prospect of lenders further tightening lending criteria and increases in interest rates.
“This undoubtedly will have a cooling effect on the rate of sale in the marketplace, however we don’t foresee any major market adjustments in this case, with the exception of the rural and lifestyle acreage properties, predominantly located on the outskirts of the major towns,” the report observed.

The Southern Highlands residential property market was running hot, according to Herron Todd White’s December report.
The property valuation firm says that strong price increases and quick selling periods have been evident across the entire region.
The main driver is the trend of second and third home buyers and retirees relocating for a tree change from Sydney and for the affordability.
"The townships of Moss Vale, Bowral and Mittagong have been the stand out performers."
It noted fully renovated or new properties with nothing left to spend are sought after.
The strongest activity is under $1.5 million.
A three bedroom unit at <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-unit-nsw-bowral-125033606" target="_blank">2/41 Shepherd Street</a>, Bowral (above) has been listed for between $900,000 to $990,000.
Similarly a three bedroom house at <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-nsw-moss+vale-124981530" target="_blank">602 Argyle Street</a>, Moss Vale (below) has been listed with a price guide of $899,000.

HTW has noted that the fringe suburbs of Southern Highlands is also beginning to see strong activity
"There has been strong activity from first home buyers seeking affordable housing options across the fringe suburbs in the Southern Highlands, essentially the villages such as Robertson, Bundanoon, Colo Vale, Hill Top and Tahmoor that are removed from the three major towns of Bowral, Mittagong and Moss Vale."
Properties still sell under $700,000 in these perimeter suburbs.
"If interest rates were to dramatically rise, then pricing levels will decline.
"If interest rates remain at low levels, then we anticipate that pricing levels will plateau.
"There are similar trends evident in the Tablelands, with good land sales and new home construction activity in the new and modern residential estates on the fringe of Goulburn including the Belmore Estate, Merino Country Estate and the Mistful Park Estate," the report advised.
New land releases are trading for $200,000 to $250,000, with house and land packages ranging from $500,000 to $600,000.
Likewise some of the villages between Sutton Forest and Goulburn, such as Marulan have seen an uptick in first home owner activity, with new land releases being quickly absorbed by the market in the $160,000 to $190,000 range for 1,000 square metre blocks.
The Crookwell village is also seeing good buyer activity and price growth.
“We see strong buyer activity from first home buyers, second and third home buyers and retirees.
"We are also seeing strong interest from Sydney investors in Goulburn."
It noted part of the attraction here aside from lower entry price is ease of access to the Sydney-Canberra freeway.
Many buyers will commute to Goulburn, Canberra or back up to Moss Vale and Bowral, the report stated.

Southern Highlands residential market growth remains strong: HTW

Potential buyers at Parq on Flinders, an apartment development in Wollongong, are being lured with just a 2 percent deposit.
An advertisement for Parq on Flinders, running as a campaign on Colliers International’s website, says more than 70 apartments have already sold and prices for the remaining apartments will be increased after July 1.
The $88 million complex will have 221 apartments and a number of commercial sites, according to the Illawarra Mercury.
The project is being developed by Malaysian consortium Gateway Wollongong.
The display suite is at 96 Smith Street.
A one-bedroom apartment is selling for $419,000, while the two bedroom is for $609,000 and the three bedrooms for $759,000.
While most banks require around 20 percent deposit upfront for owner-occupiers and higher for investors, the promotion for Parq, first announced in November 2016, asked for just a 10 percent deposit.
First home buyers could pay their deposit in instalments of 2 percent every six months, while other buyers needed to pay the balance 8 percent by July 2017, said the promotion.
For years, the development site at the intersection of Keira, Flinders and Campbell Streets remained mired in controversy.
It was once flagged for the corruption-laden "Quattro" development, which featured prominently in the city’s infamous sex for development scandal, according to the Illawarra Mercury.
In 2008, an inquiry found that developer Frank Vellar had engaged in corrupt conduct by engineering the approval of the Quattro development with his lover, Beth Morgan.
The council bought the site for $5.2 million in 2011, with plans to clean it up and use it as a temporary parking space.
It then called for expressions of interest from developers, and a year later the Gateway consortium, then working with developer Jan Lindrum, lodged a $135 million proposal named “Bass and Flinders Gateway”. 
But they failed to convince the Joint Regional Planning Panel the first time around and only got a recommendation from the Wollongong City Council after substantial modifications.

Wollongong development lures buyers with 2 percent deposit

The weekend preliminary auction average clearance rate has risen again to 77 percent on the second last Autumn weekend, according to CoreLogic’s latest update.
Auction activity across the combined capital cities increased this week too, up from 2,409 auctions last week, to 2,794 this week, making it the sixth busiest week so far this year.
The clearance rate across the combined capitals was 77.2 percent, increasing from a final clearance rate of 72.8 percent over the previous week.
At the same time last year, both volumes (1,920) and the clearance rate (68.9 percent) were lower.
The two largest auction markets, Melbourne and Sydney, saw their preliminary clearance rates rise, with Sydney at 80.7 percent and Melbourne at 79.2 percent, although Kevin Brogan, the CoreLogic auction analyst said that Sydney, and to a lesser extent Melbourne, tend to revise down over the week when the remaining results are captured.
Over the previous week, Sydney’s preliminary clearance rate of 79.4 percent was revised down to 74.5 percent when finalised.
Across the smaller capital city markets, Brisbane was the only city where preliminary clearance rates fell week-on-week.
Sydney was host to 1,053 auctions this week and a preliminary clearance rate of 80.7 percent was recorded, rising from 74.5 percent last week across 960 auctions.
One year ago, 735 auctions were held across Sydney and 73.2 percent were successful.
It was the strongest result since April 9.
Eight of the 15 sub-regions recorded clearance rates of at least 80 percent with the stand outs being Sydney's Inner West 88.9 percent and Sutherland's 88.6 percent.

This week’s result shows a rise in the clearance rate for the city, after Melbourne’s final clearance rate was recorded at 75 percent last week, the lowest clearance rate for the city so far this year.
Over the same week last year, Melbourne’s clearance rate was 70 percent across 843 auctions.
Melbourne's highest was a four bedroom 1907 Queen Anne Federation house at Camberwell.

A six bedroom Clayfield house sold for $1.75 million through Ray White agent Damon Warat was Brisbane’s most expensive reported weekend auction sale.

The preliminary clearance rate for Brisbane at 51.6 percent, was the only capital city down from last week, when it was 59 percent, but similar to one year ago, when 50.9 percent of the 131 properties taken to auction were successful.
In Adelaide, a 70.4 percent preliminary result was recorded this week across 114 auctions.
The 102 Adelaide auctions returned a clearance rate of 63 percent, while at the same time last year, 92 homes were taken to auction, with 68.8 per cent recording a successful result.
