The prestigious residential development One Hyde Park in Knightsbridge, London, has just the six apartments left for sale in the high-profile apartment complex.
With the total sales now standing at over £1.7 billion (€2.1 billion, $2.7 billion), One Hyde Park has attracted international buyers from across the globe, from China to America, to Russia, the Middle East and Europe. There were 86 apartments in the development.
There are now 25 nationalities represented at One Hyde Park, the world's most expensive residential complex.
The last five newly completed sales in the past three months were all originating from Asia.
The latest two- and three-bedroom apartments were sold to Chinese, Taiwanese, Japanese, Thai and Malaysian buyers, with Asian buyers now accounting for over 30% of the total sales at the development to date. A four-bedroom apartment also sold to a Kazakhstan buyer this month for over £25 million, leaving fewer than seven of the high-profile apartments remaining for sale, according to Savills.

Candy &amp; Candy was the development manager and interior designer for One Hyde Park gaining international recognition for its bespoke and innovative design.
Looking at the Asian buying market in Sydney, Tony Leong, who heads up the China desk at Savills NSW, commented that Asian interest in residential property within the Sydney metropolitan area was at "an all-time high."
“There are many reasons for buying in Australia but the three main profiles are the buyers who are looking for properties so that their children can study here, so they might buy a property when the child is very young with a long term view or they might buy something only for the time that their child is studying.
"There are also buyers who are looking to migrate here so they will look for a property as their home and finally there are the investors who will be buying more than one property," he says,

According to research by Savills UK, Chinese and Pacific Asian buyers are now the fourth largest net purchasing group in the world, with a 31% market share in the new build sector alone.
Ned Baring, director at Savills, commented: “One Hyde Park is the ultimate address for London luxury, and it is not surprising that the last five sales have been to buyers from Asia. The appeal of London remains exceptionally strong to buyers from China and Pacific-Asia, who typically look for new build properties as reflected by their strong market share in this sector.”
The extensive amenities and facilities available exclusively to residents at One Hyde Park include a private cinema, 21-metre ozone swimming pool, entertainment room, private spa, state-of-the-art gym, golf simulator, underground valet parking, personal wine storage and squash court.

Its reputed sale price was $1.2 million.

Its November 8 auction could end nearly 180 years ownership by five generations of the family.
The Campbell family occupancy, of most of the holding, originates back to Captain Ronald Campbell's 1830s holding, Cambalong Station.
There are $3.6 million plus hopes through Stewart Lee at Stewart lee &amp; Co Rural Marketing who says the farm was ideal for breeding, fattening and potential cropping.
It runs both sheep and cattle with stock numbers over the past two decades avering 245 cattle and about 5900 sheep.
The Southern Monaro farm has a  fertile mixture of basalt and red loams wuth extensive Cambalong Creek frontage and a reticulated stock watering system.

Receivers have listed the Belongil Beach, Byron Bay retreat of the former milk magnate Ken Lacey and his wife, Madeleine, for December 1 Ray White auction.
It was in 2008 when the retired Potts Point stockbroker Chris Trumbull and his wife, Paddy, sold their Border Street, <a href="/news">Belongil Beach</a>, retreat for $3.6 million to the Lacey couple.
The Gold Coast Bulletin reported earlier this year that Lacey declared bankruptcy in December last year but then secured a way out of bankruptcy.
Westpac is the only registered lender on title, Property Observer notes.
The Trumbulls had paid $3 million in 2005 for the 683-square-metre beachfront holding. The marketing ads by Ray White agent Lloyd Lawton say the beach house may be subject to an upgrading or demolition order.
The Laceys had the proprty listed originally at $5.75 million, then for sale at $4.9 million in 2010.
Lacey won Melbourne's milk distribution turf wars in the 1980s before heading north to the Gold Coast.
They hit the headlines when their imposing house on the Gold Coast's millionaires' row, Hedges Avenue, sold for $17 million in 2006, reportedly as the family were off to the United States to oversee the career of their aspiring rap-singer son, Jade, aka Lace Italiano.
But Jade, 24, and his brother, Dionne, 20, were subsequently arrested for the alleged murder of a Nerang landscaper, which has resulted in lengthy costly $6 million legal proceedings. They are in jail for manslaughter, torture, kidnapping and drugs. 
A Supreme Court jury in Brisbane found Dionne not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter and Jade guilty of wounding with intent. Dionne was sentenced to 10 years' jail and Jade to five years. Their prison time was increased by six years apiece when, in a separate case heard, they were convicted of a series of charges relating to an abducted at gunpoint over another drug dispute.
More recently the local paper reported Lacey had withdrawn from the sex industry, selling up Club Lace Bordello at Chinderah.
The Gold Coast Bulletin said the brothel had been bought in 2011 as an inheritance for his sons. The Club Lace at Chinderah, south of Tweed Heads, was to be the first of several brothels he was setting up.
H<a href=""></a>e told the paper this week he would now focus on "development opportunities".
"We received a good offer for the club and we took it," he said. "[My sons] know I'll find something else for them."

Parallel House, the architecturally commended Newtown, Sydney, abode, listed

Kermadec, the 1906 Federation-era house built as the Lane Cove home to William (Billy) Hughes, Australia’s seventh prime minister, has been listed for sale through Simon Harrison and James Bennett of Belle Property Lane Cove.
The double-storey Federation mansion is now four bedrooms with powder room and one bathroom. It comes with a pool and tennis court on its 2,787-square-metre landholding.
Title Tattle recalls the <a target="_blank" href="/news">Lane Cove</a> home last traded in 1999 for $1.95 million, a then record for the suburb. Slightly earlier $1,375,000 was secured when it sat on a 4,600-square-metre Richardson Street block.
It's now been listed with renewed record hopes when offers are due by December 12.Belle Property are looking for offers "from the high $3s."
The former SMH heritage reporter Geraldine O'Brien noted once that William Morris Hughes was a barrister and a Federal MP in 1905 when he bought two hilltop blocks of land in a suburb then dotted with dairy farms.
Until its late 1990s restoration and extension of the house, the number of bedrooms was minimal, although Hughes and his wife had six children.
The original house only three bedrooms.
Richard Dinham from SJPH Design Partnership oversaw the 1997 renovations.
Hughes, who wasn't a rich man, didn't lavish money on the house, so the original detail was typically Edwardian with some anomalies such as the ceiling over the staircase being low, which later residents suggested was because he was a little man.
When Hughes was back in Lane Cove from parliamentary sessions in Melbourne, he would speak from the house balcony to address his constituents.
Hugher, who was borned in 1862 and died in 1952, was Prime Minister from 1915 to 1923 and over the course of his 51-year federal parliamentary career (and an additional seven years prior to that in a colonial parliament), Hughes changed parties five times from 1901 to 1952.
The house's name, Kermadec was actually given to it by trader Graham Kerr, who'd bought it in 1920 and named it for the Pacific islands.

The retiring billionaire John Grill, from the mining services company WorleyParsons, has emerged as the $13 million-plus buyer of the Wedge, the beachfront home at Whale Beach.

It was sold last month by the businessman and environmental activist Geoff Cousins, snapped up within 10 days of hitting the market through Raine &amp; Horne Palm Beach agent Glenn Lee. The actual sale price remains very much unconfirmed.
Despite the prestige Palm Beach peninsula rumour mill's normal reliability, Title Tattle scoffed at the almost instantaneous rumours it had been the neighbouring hedge fund expatriate Greg Coffey who'd bought himself an early retirement present, with Title Tattle proffering instead the buyer was from the <a href="/news">mining services industry</a>.
Grill stepped down last month as the chief executive of WorleyParsons, the mining engineering giant he co-founded, but will now become its chairman.
His wealth has fluctuated over the course of the mining boom, but he was estimated as having billioniare status in Forbes 2006 listed as #1014 with a net worth of US$1.01 billion, the 19th richest man in Australia and New Zealand. In the latest ranking of Business Review Weekly's richest Australian executives and managers, John Grill had a $780 million estimated value.
Now the retired lawyer Malcolm McLean and his artist wife, Jean, have listed their nearby beachfront home with $10 million-plus hopes through Glenn Lee when offers close November 29.
The Whale Beach Road property is two doors from the beachfront retreat of Geoff Cousins.
Both the Cousins house – built in 1991 – and the 2002 McLean house (pictured below) were designed by architect John Crawford.

The McLean residence is described as a modern, Hamptons-style, five-bedroom house with sweeping beach views. The home boasts two pavilions with an interconnecting corridor, five bedrooms, including private master retreat.
The McLeans' 1,567-square-metre block is bigger than the Wedge's 1,392 square metres and by some pundits' measurements the largest land holding on <a href="/news">Whale Beach.</a>
Jean McLean is originally from St Martins College of Art London, a designer and artist who shares the home with husband Malcolm McLean, the former managing partner of Greenwoods and Freehills, the tax arm of Herbert Smith Freehills. They are downsizing to a city apartment.
He retired in 2007 after many decades advising clients on Australian taxation matters.
T<a href=""></a>he previous Whale Beach record stood at $13 million achieved for 245 Whale Beach Road in May 2007. Coincidentally that had been Cousins' previous northern beaches weekender, having sold to the late international photographer Richard Bailey for $1.5 million in 1994.

Mining billionaire John Grill secures a $13 million wedge of Whale Beach: Title Tattle

Nathan <a href=""></a>Tinkler, who has been involved in several legal disputes in recent times over  paying debts, has advised he is not on the brink of financial collapse.
"All I will say is that tough people last, tough times don't," he told the Australian Financial Review this week.
"There's been a massive media campaign to try and ruin me ... They wanted to treat me like Christopher Skase, like I was sitting in a wheelchair puffing in a bag and owed $250 million. It is just not the case." 
On Tuesday, his Ocean Street Holdings company and Mirvac subsidiary Domaine Steel settled a dispute over a $17 million payment for a Newcastle industrial land acquisition.
Earlier in October, he settled another dispute with mining services company Sedgman.

Nathan Tinkler says he's no exiled, broke infirmed Skase-like entreprenuer

A property lawyer has claimed the Victorian government was double dipping on stamp duty charges for house and land packages under recent changes to tax laws.
Previously, only homebuyers were charged stamp duty when they bought a house and land package in a new housing estate.
But they say changes to the Duties Act in June mean that builders are now also being charged for the same block of land when a building contract is signed.
Property lawyer Tony Raunic says the extra charge will be passed on to homebuyers.
"Inevitably they're the ones who are going to pick up the cost for the Government's double stamp duty," he said.
"The builders will pass this cost on to the homebuyers by way of the building contract costs.
"Ultimately, the cost flows onto the homebuyer, drives up the cost of homes on those outer fringes of Melbourne, or in the urban estates on the fringes of Melbourne and regional Victoria, and just makes it more expensive for people to get into housing."
Assistant Treasurer Gordon-Rich Phillips has told the ABC that it will only raise another $2 million a year.
"The vast majority of builders have been operating the way the law always intended, with respect to stamp duty, and have been paying stamp duty, this closes a loophole which was being exploited by a small number, so it's not a new charge," he said.
"This is giving effect to what was always the intention of the Duties Act, and that is that stamp duty is paid each time the land is sold, when it's sold by the developer and when it's sold by the builder, which has been the case in the vast majority of cases."

Property lawyer accuses Victorian government of double dipping on stamp duty charges for house-and-land packages

Transfield Services has appointed Graeme Hunt to the top job at the contractor.
Graeme Hunt had been its acting chief executive since Peter Goode’s recent departure.
Its chairman, Tony Shepherd, said it had become clear Hunt was the best candidate as Transfield carried out a search for a permanent appointment.
The construction and maintenance firm has also re-affirmed its full-year earnings guidance, after its first-quarter performance met expectations.
Transfield had previously forecast an operating profit at the lower end of a range of $125 million to $135 million.
"The outlook, though, for the remainder of FY13 is for softer market conditions, including a slowdown in the resources sector, falling discretionary expenditure in minerals exploration and development and delayed timing of some infrastructure opportunities," the company said.
Transfield recently secured $145 million worth of contracts including management of about 500 Boral sites across Australia, mine maintenance in Chile and maintenance on part of the Icthys liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in the Northern Territory.
Transfield Services operates in Australia and New Zealand, the Americas (comprising the USA, Canada and Chile), and the Middle East and Asia (comprising the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, New Caledonia, Malaysia, the Philippines and India) and its business units include resources and energy, infrastructure services and property and facilities management sectors.

Transfield Services has appointed Graeme Hunt, its acting chief executive, to the top job 

ASX-listed developer <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/stockland">Stockland</a>&nbsp;is continuing its push back into the new apartment market, filing plans for a prominent gateway site between Collingwood and East Melbourne.

The development giant, which moved back into the new apartment space when it announced Stanton Place in Sydney's Rosebery and have since filed plans for a 50-storey tower, are jumping into the off the plan Melbourne market.

They are hoping to create a mixed-use neighbourhood precinct for <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/79-81-victoria-parade-collingwood-vic-3066">79-81 Victoria Parade</a>, replacing an existing commercial building with a scheme by <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/architects/john-wardle-architects">Wardle</a>&nbsp;for 478 apartments,&nbsp;ground-floor retail, new public open spaces and a publicly accessible pedestrian laneway.

The design report identifies the public realm as a central driver of the proposal.

"Collingwood has limited access to high-quality parks and public open space, and the proposal delivers valuable new areas for respite, social interaction and fine-grain retail activity."

The development would deliver a diverse mix of housing, including studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments alongside townhouse-style residences. Two basement levels are proposed beneath the development, providing resident and retail parking as well as extensive bicycle facilities.

Wardle's design draws heavily on Collingwood's industrial character, using articulated building forms, brickwork and robust materials inspired by the suburb's warehouse and manufacturing heritage. The built form has been broken into a series of smaller volumes to better respond to the surrounding streetscape while extensive communal gardens, rooftop amenities and shared resident spaces are integrated throughout the project.

The planning documents describe the existing office building as offering little engagement with the public realm, with the redevelopment intended to create a more permeable and active neighbourhood destination.

"The proposed scheme presents a significant opportunity to deliver a vibrant retail plaza and a local neighbourhood hub serving both existing and future Collingwood residents."

The 79–81 Victoria Parade site occupies a strategic location about 1.5 kilometres east of Melbourne's CBD, at the threshold between Collingwood and East Melbourne. It is well served by tram services along Victoria Parade and sits within walking distance of St Vincent's Hospital, Fitzroy Gardens, the Fitzroy activity centre and a broad range of employment, retail and hospitality destinations.

Stockland plans new mixed-use neighbourhood precinct for Collingwood gateway site

An 1880s timber cottage that has survived Kangaroo Point's transformation from riverside suburb to high-density apartment precinct is set to become the centrepiece of <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/zephyr">Zephyr Group</a>'s proposed Banksia development.

Rather than see the locally heritage-listed Alpha Cottage as an obstacle to navigate, plans integrate the landmark home into a new 18-storey residential tower, giving one of the suburb's oldest surviving residences a new role as the project's communal hub.

The development application covers a 1,177 sqm amalgamated site at 127-133 Lambert Street and 30 Shafston Avenue, where Zephyr Group plans to deliver 64 apartments above three basement levels. Designed by <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/architects/joe-adsett-architects">Joe Adsett Architects</a>, the proposal carefully weaves the retained heritage cottage into a contemporary residential scheme, with the tower elevated above the historic building to preserve its presence within the Lambert Street streetscape.

Named after the native Australian Banksia flower, the project draws inspiration from its distinctive form through curved balconies, sculpted planter boxes and cascading subtropical landscaping that soften the building's profile.

As the design report explains: "The tower's identity is defined by its feature facade, drawing direct inspiration from the Banksia wildflower. The building departs from traditional rigidity through the use of elegant, GRC-moulded planter boxes that appear as if shaped by the breeze."

Plans propose 64 apartments, comprising 32 two-bedroom and 32 three-bedroom residences, across an 18-storey tower. Residents would have access to rooftop amenities including a swimming pool, spa, gym, sauna, private cinema, dining spaces and landscaped recreation areas, while more than half the site is dedicated to planting and open space.

The heritage component is the defining feature of the proposal. Constructed in the early 1880s and occupied from at least 1883, Alpha Cottage is recognised by Brisbane City Council as an important surviving example of Kangaroo Point's nineteenth-century residential development and as a representative transverse-gable timber cottage. Despite extensive redevelopment across the peninsula, the building has retained a high degree of its original form and internal fabric.

As part of the redevelopment, the cottage will be carefully relocated a short distance within its original allotment to facilitate construction before being returned to a prominent position along Lambert Street. Original verandah elements will be dismantled, catalogued and reinstated, while significant internal features, including timber flooring, wall linings, joinery, doors, windows and hardware, will be retained. Later additions, including the enclosed rear verandah, will be removed to better reveal the building's original form.

Once restored, Alpha Cottage will accommodate the building manager's office, mail room and parcel facilities, providing an active everyday use that supports its long-term conservation rather than preserving it as a static display. The heritage strategy also maintains landscaped space around the building, allowing it to remain visually distinct beneath the new tower.

The Heritage Impact Assessment concludes that "the proposal secures the ongoing occupation, maintenance and conservation of Alpha Cottage," finding the development would result in "no more than a minor impact on the cultural heritage significance" of the building while ensuring its long-term future.

Joe Adsett Architects have designed the tower to sit above the heritage building rather than overwhelm it, creating a clear visual separation between old and new. The development's flowing balconies, integrated planting and organic façade respond to Brisbane's subtropical climate while complementing the restored cottage below.

Banksia occupies a prominent corner in Kangaroo Point within walking distance of the Kangaroo Point Bridge, Brisbane River, ferry services, QUT, the CBD and the Woolloongabba precinct. The site also benefits from direct access to active transport infrastructure and sits within an area earmarked for continued higher-density residential growth.

Architectus Principal Marko Damic said the design sought to create a tower that contributes to the public realm as much as the skyline.
