Repeat buyers are one of the strongest measures of confidence in any apartment development.

Keith Wilton had spent years living in a house in East Maitland before deciding it was time for a change. Apartment living had always been on his radar, but he was selective about what he wanted.

For Aimee and Lyle Goodman, the journey started almost by chance.

"We were aware GWH was planning a development," Aimee says. "We made one phone call and things moved pretty quickly after that."

"We actually catch up more as a family now," Aimee says.

The judging submission also highlighted practical innovations throughout the building, including lift cores servicing only nine homes each, a central landscaped lightcourt designed to bring daylight and ventilation into the building, and fully enclosed private storage rooms with lighting, power and shelving to better accommodate residents transitioning from larger family homes.

The Gold Award for Interior Design recognised the project's focus on long-term liveability rather than display-home aesthetics.

According to the awards submission, the interiors were designed from the inside out, prioritising how homes would function over decades of daily use through generous proportions, practical storage, durable natural materials and flexible layouts.

The specification includes natural stone throughout, upgraded acoustic glazing, V-ZUG appliances and fully enclosed storage rooms, alongside an amenity offering focused on wellness, entertainment and everyday convenience.&nbsp;

The apartment price gap drawing Sydney buyers west

A luxury beachfront apartment at Rainbow Bay has more than doubled in value since it sold off the plan six years ago, setting a new local apartment record in the process.

The three-bedroom apartment in the Flow development on Petrie Street, the first of four new projects locally by Paul Gedoun's S&amp;S Projects, has sold for $7.4 million, after originally selling for $3.27 million when the project launched in 2020.

The seventh-floor apartment, comprising 187 sqm of internal living space and a 54 sqm balcony overlooking Froggies Beach and Snapper Rocks, was purchased by a local family.

The transaction was negotiated by Pezet Matheson director Kerry Pezet and equates to more than $30,000 per sqm.

Pezet said the sale reflected the limited opportunities to buy into the boutique beachfront development.

"The sale highlights the rarity of opportunities within the boutique beachfront development, where residences seldom become available," Pezet said.

"Flow is one of the Gold Coast's most tightly held buildings. Buyers from our database move quickly when residences become available, and achieving an off-market sale at $7.4 million demonstrates the depth of demand for property of this calibre."

Private property group Citimark has broken ground  on its landmark $85 million Silkstone urban renewal project in Ipswich.
The 14-hectare site, located just 2km from the Ipswich CBD, will comprise a shopping centre, an affordable residential community and parkland.
More than 75 percent of the first residential stage has sold since Citimark secured development approval earlier this year.
Citimark joint managing director Angus Johnson said the start of construction this month represented an exciting milestone for the project.

Johnson Property Group Managing Director Keith Johnson said the start of construction of the terraces is a major development milestone for the project, having commenced construction on stage one of the 188-berth marina on Lake Macquarie in February.
“2016 is a big year for Trinity Point with construction starting on our luxury, architecturally designed, three storey terraces as well as our world-class marina, roadworks and other infrastructure getting underway,” he said.  
Featuring the largest blocks to be released to date at Trinity Point, Stage 6 lots range in size from 500 to 852 square metres.

An $11 million apartment in Mirvac's The Eastbourne has sold, achieving a sqm rate at almost $24,000 per sqm.
It eclipsed the previous record held by the Salta building at 150 Clarendon Street which has long been the benchmark for prestige living in Melbourne.
With the Grand Pavilion Penthouse yet to hit the market however, the new record may not stand for long, with price expectations exceeding $30,000 per sqm.
The penthouse will feature 50 metres of frontage and an outdoor pool offering views across Fitzroy Gardens.
The Eastbourne is a classically terraced building set across 11 levels fronting Fitzroy Gardens, boasting spectacular views of the CBD and neighbouring abundant greenery.
Construction is set to start in the coming months on the Bates Smart development, so the design suite, which is now open to the public, will only be on site for a limited time.

With demolition already underway, construction is set to commence early in 2017 and completion expected by mid-2019.

The Eastbourne breaks sqm rate record in East Melbourne

A $150 million hotel being developed by Frasers Property Australia and Sekisui House at Sydney’s $2 billion Central Park urban village is to be branded a Starwood hotel.
Starwood Hotels &amp; Resorts director of acquisitions and development, Andrew Taylor, said the 297-room hotel will be branded Four Points by Sheraton Central Park.

It was designed by British architects Foster + Partners to appeal to both leisure and corporate travellers.
The Australian reported Starwood, which will merge with Marriott in a $US14bn ($19bn) deal next month, creating the world’s largest hotel company, won the tender against three other international operators including one of Frasers Property’s own brands.
The hotel will be open by early 2018.

Adelaide's $100 million, 28 storey 210 apartment development Vue on King William is the state's tallest residential building following its official opening by Deputy Premier, John Rau. 
More than 400 new residents are expected to move in over the coming weeks.

Developer Slatterley Property Group has purchased 214 hectares of land in Victoria's Mickleham to develop some 2,300 residential lots.
More than 1,600 lots are slated to be sold in FY16.
Founder Nigel Slatterley said the Mickleham project is Satterley’s fourth residential estate in Melbourne’s northern suburbs.
"It joins Riverstone in Doreen and Coburg Hill in Coburg North, both of which are close to trading out. True North (formally Arena) in Greenvale has been selling strongly since it was acquired from Peet Limited in 2015," he said.

They secured over $27 million worth of sales in just 14 days.
