Keith Wilton had spent years living in a house in East Maitland before deciding it was time for a change. Apartment living had always been on his radar, but he was selective about what he wanted.

Today, Keith says the move has completely changed how he experiences Newcastle.

For Aimee and Lyle Goodman, the journey started almost by chance.

"We were aware GWH was planning a development," Aimee says. "We made one phone call and things moved pretty quickly after that."

"We actually catch up more as a family now," Aimee says.

The Gold Award for Interior Design recognised the project's focus on long-term liveability rather than display-home aesthetics.

According to the awards submission, the interiors were designed from the inside out, prioritising how homes would function over decades of daily use through generous proportions, practical storage, durable natural materials and flexible layouts.

The specification includes natural stone throughout, upgraded acoustic glazing, V-ZUG appliances and fully enclosed storage rooms, alongside an amenity offering focused on wellness, entertainment and everyday convenience.&nbsp;

The apartment price gap drawing Sydney buyers west

A luxury beachfront apartment at Rainbow Bay has more than doubled in value since it sold off the plan six years ago, setting a new local apartment record in the process.

The three-bedroom apartment in the Flow development on Petrie Street, the first of four new projects locally by Paul Gedoun's S&amp;S Projects, has sold for $7.4 million, after originally selling for $3.27 million when the project launched in 2020.

The seventh-floor apartment, comprising 187 sqm of internal living space and a 54 sqm balcony overlooking Froggies Beach and Snapper Rocks, was purchased by a local family.

The transaction was negotiated by Pezet Matheson director Kerry Pezet and equates to more than $30,000 per sqm.

Pezet said the sale reflected the limited opportunities to buy into the boutique beachfront development.

"The sale highlights the rarity of opportunities within the boutique beachfront development, where residences seldom become available," Pezet said.

"Flow is one of the Gold Coast's most tightly held buildings. Buyers from our database move quickly when residences become available, and achieving an off-market sale at $7.4 million demonstrates the depth of demand for property of this calibre."

Best-selling author Sarah Turnbull quickly sells Avalon home

Justine Cullen, the recently married editor of Jones, the DJ's department store prestige fashion quarterly magazine, is yet to sell her Avalon Beach home of the past five years.

Food providore pioneer Simon Johnson and his partner, medical diagnostic firm manager David Nichols, have bought back into the Northern Beaches market.
They've traded in Whale Beach for Avalon, settling on a luxury Riverview Road waterfront.
The couple, who split their time between their London home and Sydney, paid $4.1 million for the updated 1950s modernist home on two titles.
Acclaimed modernist architect Arthur Baldwinson designed the home some six decades ago.
The home has been added to, but original features such as the glass atrium kitchen and striking sandstone fireplace have been retained.
Glass was used extensively wrapping the lounge and dining zones, which open to the waterfront deck with views across Pittwater.
At the bottom of the 1070 square metre sloping parcel is a fully self-contained boathouse, jetty, pontoon and private sandy beach.
The sale through LJ Hooker Avalon agent David Watson came with a rare full certificate to title to low water mark.
Johnson and Nichols sold their Iain Halliday-designed Whale Beach weekender after two decades, having paid $1.1 million in 1997. 
They sold the luxury Rayner Road home with sauna, steam room and outdoor marble jacuzzi for $7 million.
The four bedroom property was billed as Halliday’s favourite residential design in Vogue.
Simon Johnson began providing food in 1992 from a small warehouse in Pyrmont.
He sold the business in 2011 for a reported $20 million, but stayed on a management contract until last year.

Australian model Gemma Ward has quickly sold her clifftop Avalon Beach investment property.
<a href="https://www.firstnational.com.au/buy-residential-real-estate/house-67-marine-parade-avalon-nsw-11009100104" target="_blank">The unrenovated shack</a> featured in the news around the world when the tenant, hairdresser Lanell Latta, was murdered in the home last month.
Latta had been renting the home with her partner and two sons when Ward bought the house in June last year.
Latta's youngest son, Joel Woszatka, stands accused of the murder. 
When Ward bought the two bedroom home on the 1,1000 square metre oceanfront block it came with approved plans to build a "dream home", designed by award-winning northern beaches architect Atelier Haefeli.
There were plans for a four bedroom Hampton-style residence with separate study, multiple informal and formal living areas, pool and lift access.
But any designs for the project ended when it was listed for sale by Ward and her photographer husband David Letts.
She's not make a profit out of the unrenovated property - they're happy to take a pre-auction offer of $1.65 million, just four days into its marketing.
They paid $1.6 million last year through Pacific First National agent Steve Crooks, who also sold the home this time round.
The couple were splitting their time between Newport and Byron Bay.
Two years ago Letts paid $1.6 million for a Suffolk Park home.
The three bedroom beach home is bordered by dense trees, shielding it from Tallow Beach which can be accessed via a sandy track.
The couple have two children after Gemma gave birth to baby number two earlier this year.
Baby boy Jet Ocean joins three year old Hawaiian born daughter Naia in the Ward clan.
From Perth, Ward made her Australian Fashion Week debut at only 15 years old and went on to become the youngest model to appear on the American edition of Vogue. 
In 2007, Ward earned $3 million from her doll-face looks, to be ranked by Forbes magazine as the 10th most highly paid model in the world.

The beloved business woman had secured the Old Barrenjoey Road commercial property with a view to opening a new coastal establishment.
She'd given the existing restaurant and bar premises a makeover with the intention of eventually redeveloping the site with plans by Iain Halliday from BKH. 
Lara Rowell at Fine &amp; Country Avalon Beach sold it to the neighbouring owner for around $1.85 million.
Milijash was credited with helping create Sydney's cool cafe culture with Jackies at Bondi then Paddington which is now operated by former staffer turned foodie Myles Davis, who's back from the London cafe scene.
She had owned a Paddington terrace home just around the corner on Gipps Street which she sold in 2015 for $1.95 million, having paid $1.22 million in 2011.

Television producer Anita Jacoby has relisted her former Avalon Beach home.
She took the long-held waterfront off the market in May just before winter arrived on the northern beaches.
It has been scheduled for <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-nsw-avalon+beach-123942142" target="_blank">November 29 auction</a>. The price guide for 139 Riverview Road is $3.85 million to $4.2 million.
It previously had a price guide of $3.85 million to $4.23 million with LJ Hooker's David Watson.
Jacoby hasn't moved far. Her and accountant husband John Cary spent $5.7 million late last year on a six bedroom waterfront surrounded by tropical gardens.
 Still smitten with Pittwater she said recently that most people don’t realise how beautiful the peninsula is."
“I’ve been all over the world and Pittwater is world class to me.”
Jacoby is best known for her work on Enough Rope and The Gruen Transfer.
Jacob paid $206,000 for the 1021 sqm property in 1985 and commissioned award-winning architect Peter Tout to build the four bedroom home about 20 years ago.
This time round it's been listed by James Baker at Raine &amp; Horne.

Television producer Anita Jacoby relists Avalon Beach home

Radio broadcaster Rove McManus and his wife, actor Tasma Walton, have sold their Avalon Beach home. 
Coming with ocean views, the couple, who have a two-year-old daughter, Ruby, initially sought $3.2 million.
But less than $3 million was secured by the Gold Logie award winner who bought the 1525 sqm clifftop property in 2011 for $2.57 million from the McBeath family.
