Gold Coast developer Bassar Group has moved ahead with construction of its $180 million AVVA Broadbeach tower before commencing presales, with Hutchinson Builders engaged to deliver the 32-storey project ahead of its formal market launch next year.

Piling and excavation is now complete at the 19–21 Anne Avenue site, with the 56-residence development anticipated to launch to market in Q1 2027.

The project marks Bassar Group’s next major development in Broadbeach following Infinity, its 40-storey residential tower completed in 2023, which sold out prior to completion.

AVVA has reunited Bassar Group with Hutchinson Builders and BDA Architecture, bringing together the same developer, builder and architect that delivered Infinity.

Bassar Group Managing Director Leo Sarris said commencing construction on AVVA reflected the developer’s long-term commitment to the Gold Coast.

“Despite the current market conditions and negative sentiment surrounding the property sector, we remain firmly committed to the Gold Coast,” said Sarris.

“We believe strongly in the future of the region and in Broadbeach as a premier residential destination. Commencing construction on AVVA is a reflection of that confidence and our long-term commitment to delivering quality projects on the Gold Coast.”

Hutchinson Builders Construction Manager Gareth Hodgins said the builder was pleased to be returning to Broadbeach to deliver AVVA.

“Broadbeach continues to be one of the Gold Coast’s most active residential markets, and we’re pleased to be delivering another significant project in the precinct,” said Hodgins.

“Hutchies has a long history of delivering major residential projects on the Gold Coast, and having previously delivered Infinity with Bassar and BDA, we’re bringing an established working relationship into AVVA.

“With ground works now complete, we’re focused on progressing construction and bringing the project to life over the coming months.”

Designed by BDA Architecture, AVVA will comprise 56 half-floor residences across 32 levels, with residences spanning approximately 190sqm.

The project was approved in July 2025, with the limited number of residences reflecting a focus on larger floorplans and permanent living.

Sarris said AVVA had been conceived to offer a more exclusive and considered form of apartment living as the expectations of Gold Coast residential buyers continued to evolve.

“The Gold Coast is evolving, and so are the expectations of its residential buyers. At AVVA, we have taken a considered approach to creating homes that offer space, privacy, quality and a genuine sense of value,” said Sarris.

“With just 56 residences, the project is designed to deliver a more exclusive and considered form of apartment living.”

The approved development will feature a collection of residents’ amenities on level four, including a pool, sauna, gym, function room and barbecue area.

Located on a 1,032 sqm site at 19–21 Anne Avenue, AVVA is positioned within walking distance of the beach, Pacific Fair and Broadbeach’s established dining, retail and entertainment precincts.

Ahead of the formal sales campaign commencing, Bassar Group has appointed Michael Kollosche as the exclusive sales agent for the project

AVVA is expected to formally launch to market in Q1 2027, with construction targeted for completion in Q1 2029.
