New Brisbane developer Dalcott has unveiled Marrone, the first of three residential projects it is planning in and around Browning Street in South Brisbane.

Dalcott has appointed Realm Projects, led by Managing Director Shane Foley, to handle sales and marketing following previous sold-out collaborations between the groups.

Foley said the Brisbane apartment buyer had become increasingly focused on the quality of the home itself rather than simply securing an inner-city address.

Marrone will be the first project delivered as part of Dalcott's broader investment in the precinct.

It will be followed by La Terra, a boutique project comprising penthouse-style, single-level apartments on a northeast corner site with extensive resident amenity and city views.

Cottee said Marrone represented the first stage of the group's longer-term plans for the area.

Dalcott was established in 2025 by Lachlan Cottee and Ben Dalgliesh, combining development and construction capability under an integrated model and focusing on architecturally considered residential projects.

Marrone will initially be offered through a pre-release registration campaign ahead of its broader public launch.

Parnell Developments is the latest to seek significant uplift through the NSW Government's Housing Delivery Authority on a Strathfield site previously approved for a much smaller apartment development.

Parnell has sought approval for a 32-storey mixed use tower across&nbsp;<a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/7-lyons-street-strathfield-nsw-2135">3-7 Lyons Street and 18 Parnell Street</a>, a&nbsp;1,857 sqm site around 400 metres from Strathfield Station. The building would yield 160 apartments, 15 per cent of which will be dedicated affordable as per the government mandate for buildings seeking additional uplift.

Approved previously was a nine-storey building back in 2022 with just over 30 apartments. That approval came prior to the project being&nbsp;progressively reconsidered as planning policy shifted toward greater density around transport hubs.

Turner has designed the latest building that would replace&nbsp;existing detached homes across the four lots.

The apartment mix comprises 22 one-bedroom apartments, 107 two-bedroom and two-bedroom-plus configurations, and 31 apartments with three or more bedrooms. The scheme also includes 203 car spaces across six basement levels and 58 bicycle spaces.

The proposal has been designed around a three-storey podium addressing Lyons Street, with the tower rising above and stepping toward its upper levels.

Turner said the podium was deliberately scaled to respond to the existing street, while the taller element has been designed as part of the emerging skyline anticipated around Strathfield Town Centre and the wider Homebush transport-oriented development precinct.

The Lyons Street frontage would have a more active, pedestrian-focused character, incorporating the commercial tenancy, landscaping and a brick-framed podium with an awning.

Parnell Street, which faces the railway corridor, has been given a different architectural treatment, with double-height breeze blocks, landscaping and communal areas used to soften the interface with the rail infrastructure.

The tower itself uses curved and recessed facade elements, with wave-like indentations across the northern elevation breaking the building into three vertical forms.

A palette of grey concrete, brick and breeze blocks is complemented by clay and terracotta accents, while the upper tower adopts a lighter expression through articulated slab edges, vertical fins and recessed glazing.

Residents would have access to 467 sqm of communal open space spread across three levels. The ground floor would accommodate the more active resident areas, including barbecue and group gathering spaces and an internal communal room capable of being used for working from home.

A more passive viewing deck is proposed at level three, overlooking the ground-level landscaping and neighbouring tennis courts, while a rooftop "sunset deck" at level 30 would provide another social and relaxation space.

Strathfield has been earmarked for substantial change through the Strathfield Town Centre planning work and the nearby Homebush TOD precinct.

Turner's report says the project has been designed to act as a transition between the existing low and mid-rise development surrounding the site and the taller built form expected to emerge across the town centre.

The proposal is being assessed as State Significant Development under the HDA pathway, alongside the concurrent request to amend the Burwood Local Environmental Plan.

First look: New apartment tower pitched for Strathfield Town Centre precinct

An $18 million penthouse has hit the market in Main Beach as construction tops out on La Mer, the $155 million apartment development rising just metres from the beach.

The release of the draft Plans, along with the draft State Environmental Planning Policy (SEPP), is a positive step forwards for the development of the 11,200-hectare Aerotropolis site which will eventually provide up to 200,000 jobs to Western Sydney.
This is good news for landowners and developers in the area who are keen to progress plans to contribute to the future development of the Aerotropolis.
The Aerotropolis is a key city-shaper that will completely transform the way Sydney functions in terms of jobs, growth and housing.
The plans announced today provide detail on key aspects of the Aerotropolis, such as flexible land use zones which incorporate a variety of uses, including agribusiness, commercial, residential, advanced industries, and research and development. 
Six aerotropolis precincts will be rezoned in the first round, which is hoped to be completed in mid-2020. The Urban Taskforce support this timeframe and are pleased to see a clear deadline established and progress being made by the government on the delivery of this piece of critical infrastructure. 
The sooner we progress these plans, the sooner the development industry can commence the formation and growth of the Aerotropolis on the ground.
This will lay the platform for the residents of Western Sydney to reap the benefits of additional jobs, homes and growth.
However, it was not all bouquets for the NSW Government.
Mr Forrest said that he was concerned that property values had already been driven up, even before the rezoning process has commenced, based on a series of government announcements.
If the NSW government adds additional State Infrastructure charges or “value capture contributions” (taxes) on top of already inflated land prices, they risk sterilising the land by rendering development unfeasible. The details of these charges have not yet been determined and every effort should be made to keep them to a minimum to ensure that the development and jobs (as well as GST revenue and stamp duties) can flow asap.
Further detail on the SIC and Value Capture charging regime, along with details of supporting infrastructure, are anticipated to be released next year.
It is critical that all supporting infrastructure is planned for and provided alongside the development of the aerotropolis.
Urban Taskforce believes that the State Government should fund infrastructure around the aerotropolis to stimulate an economic boom. They will reap the benefits from the subsequent taxation revenue. To put this burden on developers risks stopping the development happening at all.
The Western Sydney Planning Partnership should be commended for coordinating different levels of government as well as infrastructure agencies to collaborate on this very complex project.

Urban Taskforce welcomes release of Western Sydney Aerotropolis Plan: Tom Forrest

After three years of planning, construction has started on the $88 million Western Sydney Community and Conference Centre.
Penrith Panthers, CEO, Brian Fletcher said the thriving business community of Western Sydney has "long been in need of a modern, multi-purpose conference centre".
The conference centre will feature 1,250 square metres of flexible floor space that will be able to host major events, trade shows, exhibitions and seated functions for up to 1000 people.
This will be serviced by a 153-room 4.5 Star Hotel, and sit below a 1200 square metre community centre.
The WSCCC has been made possible thanks to combined federal and state government grants of $24 million.
"The many outstanding community programs and initiatives in the Penrith region will benefit from the community centre. While the conference centre will enhance Penrith’s reputation as a world-class event and tourism destination," said Member for Penrith the Hon. Stuart Ayres, Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney. 
300 jobs will be created during construction with a further 100 ongoing roles upon completion of the project.
Richard Crookes Construction won a competitive tender process in November to build the iconic development.
An estimated completion date of late 2021 has been set, with Panthers accepting bookings in early 2022.
"The development is part of the record $1 billion investment the Panthers Group is making on behalf of the local Penrith community, which also includes residential retirement facilities, The Royce and mixed- use development, East Side Quarter," Fletcher said. 
"Over the last five years, Panthers has supported the community to the tune of $13 million in donations. This development continues that charter by supporting employment and developing opportunities for young people in Western Sydney."

Panthers Group starts $1 billion Western Sydney Community and Conference Centre development

Construction is set to begin on the Western Sydney Metro, with seven station locations now confirmed.
The project will cut travel times between Parramatta and the Sydney CBD down to around 20 minutes when completed.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said construction work will begin next year, commencing at the Bays Precinct.
She said, “we’ve successfully delivered the North West Metro Line early and $1 billion under budget, the next line from Chatswood to Sydnenham and Bankstown is on track to open in 2024, and now the next Metro project is underway.”
The locations of seven proposed Metro stations have been confirmed at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock and the Bays Precinct.
The NSW Government will also fast-track work to investigate the feasibility of building a Metro station in Pyrmont, while also assessing a potential station at Rydalmere. Further work is also underway to determine the location of the new Metro station in the Sydney CBD.
Minister for Transport Andrew Constance said “Western Sydney Metro will more than double the existing rail capacity between Greater Parramatta and the Sydney CBD and slash travel times between Parramatta and the Sydney CBD to around 20 minutes,” Mr Constance said.
The NSW Government has also announced that it is kicking off a global search for suppliers in what is expected to be the biggest tunnelling contract awarded in Australian history.

The sub $500,000 price point in the wider Sydney metropolitan has been an ever-diminishing market, according to the latest Herron Todd White (HTW) residential report.
But there is now more opportunity, the valuation firm said. 
It took a look at the various options across the land for investing $500,000.
The report suggests that as values decreased, the number of properties meeting this criteria reduced each year.
In the past two years however, the wider market has contracted and we now have more options in play in this market.
When buying property at this price point, purchasers will still have to sacrifice in some aspect, be it location, commute time, accommodation or the overall condition and features they desire.
"It should come as no surprise that western Sydney provides buyers with the most options in the sub-$500,000 price range, however there are still some options available in most parts of Sydney," the report said.
"Whilst these may be restricted to units, a number of these areas are now seeing the entry point for houses at well below $1 million, something that may not have been conceivable a year or two ago.
"Parramatta provides two major options for buyers with $500,000 or less to spend. You can pick up a semi-modern, one-bedroom, one-bathroom unit or an older two-bedroom, one-bathroom unit." 
A recent example is a one-bedroom unit at <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-apartment-nsw-parramatta-130364454" target="_blank">802/138-140 Church Street, Parramatta</a> (pictured below) selling for $488,888 on level eight in the Escen development.
This is a late 2000s built development with common pool, sauna and gym and within close proximity of the CBD and rail.

"Further west in Penrith, you have the option of a modern two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit or an early 2000s three-bedroom townhouse for sub-$500,000," the report noted.
Given the wider market cooling over the past 12 to 18 months, detached houses in Penrith are now becoming available for sub-$500,000.
These properties are generally in fair condition with irregular blocks or located on busy roads but provide an entry point for buyers wanting a detached dwelling on circa 600 square metres blocks.
With some smart renovations, these houses could prove to be a savvy buy in the long term.
A recent example of this is a neat brick dwelling selling for $480,000 in March.
Set on 556 square metre allotment, the family house at<a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-house-nsw-penrith-130288870" target="_blank"> 53 Glebe Place, Penrith</a> (pictured below) comprises three bedrooms, separate kitchen and living areas, and large bathroom.
Externally, the property is neat but is prime for updating internally.
It's only minutes to local schools, trains and public transport.

West Ryde is close to the geographical centre of Sydney and doesn’t usually feature in this topic, but with the downturn over the past 12 to 18 months, there are now more opportunities for investors and first home buyers with older one-bedroom units selling for early $400,000s within close proximity of the rail and shops.
Campbelltown provides the most options for the sub-$500,000 market.
"You have the option of three-bedroom detached houses on circa 700 square metre blocks, modern two and one-bedroom units, or a variety of villas and townhouses," the valuation firm suggested. 
A recent example is an older 1960s three-bedroom, one-bathroom dwelling on 691 square metres of land selling for $450,000.
The house had some minor updates throughout and would be perfect for a first home or investment.
"If you are after a modern unit, there have been some recent sales between $420,000 and $500,000 of modern built, two-bedroom, two-bathroom units," the valuation firm stated.
The sub-$500,000 price point is mostly made up of first home buyers and investors.
These participants are generally sensitive to price and interest rate movements.
A number of the major lenders recently reducing their interest rates is likely to have a positive impact on this sector of the market.
Within the new estates in western Sydney, buyers with a budget of up to $500,000 can mostly only find land.
Examples would include a rectangular shaped 350 to 500 square metre parcel in Box Hill in the north-west or Austral in the south-west.
The variance in price will depend on frontage and position within the developing suburbs.
"Given this, we have recently seen some three-bedroom, two- bathroom villas for sale at this price point in Austral and there are units proposed for Box Hill which will fall under $500,000.
"For even better value, buyers can head to North Richmond, where for $475,000 to $500,000 you can acquire a 650 to 700 square metre, rectangular shaped block."
The commute is circa 70 kilometres from the Sydney CBD, but more importantly circa 50 kilometres from both Parramatta CBD and the proposed second airport at Badgerys Creek.

Western Sydney provides most options in the sub $500,000 price range: HTW residential

In Western Sydney the overall trend for dwellings is still weakening after a number of years of positive growth, according to the latest Herron Todd White (HTW) residential report. 
"Negative sentiment in the marketplace and tighter lending requirements have played a part in these falling median prices," the valuation firm said.
"We predict this trend will continue for the rest of the year."
The median house price in Erskine Park are 4% lower than December 2018, according to realestate.com.au data.
Marsden Park had similar figures with a 3.6% drop, whilst Oran Park has seen only a 1% drop in dwelling median values since December 2018.
"Our experience with residential units and off the plan sales has found premiums were paid in stronger markets for the then new product," the report said. 
"As the wider market weakens, we are continuing to see settlement valuations not meeting the off the plan purchase price.
"These valuations require recent resales of similar units to support the value and in many areas the evidence is unable to support the strong off the plan prices."
An example includes a recent resale in Parramatta.
The three-bedroom unit at<a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-unit-nsw-parramatta-130373430" target="_blank"> 4803/330 Church Street </a>(pictured below) recently resold for $990,000 representing a 30% drop in value since purchase.
It was for $1,285,000 off the plan in May 2015.

"This is not an uncommon occurrence with many units sold for a premium off the plan in a stronger market now unable to meet their initial purchase price up to four years later."
The report noted that there are signs in the marketplace that buyers for new units are harder to attract and a number of incentives are now being offered.
A recent example is the Pelican Estate (pictured below) in Schofields, a 270 unit development selling off the plan in western Sydney.
The developers Bathla are giving away $1.2 million in prizes to lucky purchasers with a $500,000 first prize, $200,000 second prize and a further $500,000 in prizes.

Western Sydney median dwelling values in decline: HTW residential

It was quite something to recently see the extent of transport infrastructure completed and under construction along the Northern Road on Sydney's outskirt. 
The works are taking the route into the 21st century for the ever expanding Western Sydney.
The road still has remnants of our pioneer years especially obvious passing the grave stones at Luddenham.
The existing two-lane undivided road, which carries about 16,000 vehicles per day, comes with numerous heritage items including the Luddenham progress hall that began in 1886 as the Protestant Hall.
There's the now closed Vicary's Winery originally part of the explorer Blaxland explorer family estate. 
Next time I will stop to buy some fresh honey from one of the remaining farms.
The upgrading of a 35 kilometre section of The Northern Road between Narellan and South Penrith is a city shaping upgrade which will encourage more housing estates and ought be effective in placing downward pressure on housing prices.
Last weekend saw the rapid demolition of the 40 year old bridge at Orchard Hills.
Some 6,000 tonnes of concrete and steel was removed by the 60 workers who did the job across the long weekend, in three days, rather than the alternative of up to 20 weeks of night closures.
The Northern Road upgrade will provide increased road capacity for expected future growth when complete in 2022.
Investing in safer and more reliable journeys, the Federal Government has committed $1.2 billion The Northern Road Upgrade, with the NSW Government committing $400 million.
This upgrade is part of the Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan, a $3.6 billion program which will deliver 60 kilometres of major road infrastructure upgrades before the opening of the western Sydney airport at Badgerys Creek.
There is a very strong link between infrastructure delivery and the increase in supply of dwellings, and then an improved economy from the ensuing population growth that make their home in the Macarthur region at housing estates such as Oran Park, and the more established Harrington Park which was the Fairfax family farm until its late 1980s approvals. The population of Oran Park Town has progressed from zero to around 7500 in nine years.
There was a 2013 study by the National Housing Supply Council that found investment in transport infrastructure can galvanise dwelling activity, but the infrastructure needs to be of sufficient scale and scope to substantially boost an area’s linkages to major employment nodes.
Albeit not always in perfect unison in terms of delivery.
The study found the nexus between transport projects, housing intensification and job boosting appeared to be much stronger in Melbourne than Sydney.
But that was before the new North West Metro, and all the apartment blocks within walking distance. 
There have already been more than one million customer journeys on the impressive system which only opened three weeks ago.
It's rightly been described as a game changing project, which connects the area by rail like never before, by Premier Gladys Berejiklian, who is now overseeing extending the line from Chatswood, under the Harbour, through the CBD and onto Bankstown.
A recent CBRE report forecast $1.4 billion of suburban development would flow every year for the next decade because of the Sydney metro rail project, with just 15 per cent of these developments officially confirmed.
Sydney needs around 36,000 new dwellings every year up until 2036 based on population growth projections.
We certainly need more projects to avert rising unemployment.

Transportation infrastructure the key to cheaper houses on the fringe and employment growth

Stockland is progressing with its development pipeline of $83 million of logistics assets across Western Sydney, having signed up new tenants Silk Contract Logistics, Daikin, Orora and Colette.
Stockland's Yennora Distribution Centre spans 70 hectares and operates as an intermodal rail terminal, connected to the Main Southern Rail Line. 
It recently completed a a $26 million development at Yennora which expanded the centre to more than 300,000 square metres.
Silk Contract Logistics signed a lease which comprises a 13,597 square metre high clearance office/warehouse building, as well as 19,582 square metres of dedicated container rated hardstand, providing direct rail access to Port Botany.
Daikin has signed as a core tenant to Stockland's $96 million Coopers Paddock Logistics Park in Warwick Farm (pictured below). Colette fashion accessories and Orora Packaging have also leased tenancies at the site.

The$50 million second stage of the Ingleburn Logistics Park has also been finalised with two new warehouse facilities of 15,494 square metres and 21,350 square metres.
This follows the completion of stage one last year, a 29,050 square metre facility that is now fully leased to Next Logistics and TIFS.

“Our vision is to create modern, functional and connected logistics centres, supporting local employment to meet Western Sydney’s growing demand for new warehousing and manufacturing space,” he said.
“We made a decision to develop over 110,000 square metres across our Warwick Farm, Yennora and Ingleburn assets which has proven to be a great opportunity with strong leasing activity across 2018. 
“Together these developments are contributing approximately 650 new jobs for Western Sydney today, with significant potential for future employment growth. 
“The demand for high quality logistics assets has been driven by a robust NSW economy and consistent, record infrastructure investment, including the new Western Sydney Airport, offering a great opportunity to develop high quality assets in connected locations.” 
D’Addona said Stockland’s national Workplace and Logistics business includes a $600 million national development pipeline and comprises 34 properties, currently valued at approximately $3.7 billion.

Western Sydney has recently experienced a wave of major announcements within the tertiary education sector, including a new education campus as part of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis.

The Greater Sydney Commission announced a Statement of Intent with the Vice-Chancellors of four leading NSW universities to co-anchor the STEM-focused tertiary education campus.

This complements the emphasis on jobs, education, and technology around the new Western Sydney Airport at Badgerys Creek.

This will go some way to balancing education and employment opportunities away from Eastern Sydney and deliver them to the region’s rapidly growing population - which currently hosts only 16% of university places in Greater Sydney.

The four universities involved in the deal are the Universities of Wollongong, Newcastle, Western Sydney, and UNSW, which together will offer access to cutting-edge industry research, development and employment opportunities.

The first phase of the new campus is expected to be completed in 2026 coinciding with the opening of the nearby 24 hr airport, as well as the initial Aerotropolis social, employment, and housing hubs.

The Aerotropolis is turning out to be a transformative catalyst for the Western Sydney region. According to NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, more than 250 local and international businesses are seeking to secure a place within the 10,000-hectare greenfield Aerotropolis site around the new airport.

<h2>Tertiary Education Growing Across Western Sydney</h2>

The wider Western Sydney region is responding eagerly to the re-conceptualisation of Sydney as a city of <a href="https://www.greater.sydney/metropolis-of-three-cities">three, thirty-minute cities</a>. 

Here’s a summary of recent announcements covering the tertiary education sector in Western Sydney city centres. Note - Parramatta is not on this list as it is located within the 'Central River City' and is a step above these other regional centres - it is becoming a true metropolitan centre. 

BANKSTOWN

There is a 16-storey, 15,000sqm vertical campus under construction in Bankstown adjacent to the regional library for Western Sydney University, providing space for approximately 5,000 students.

WSU Vice-Chancellor Professor Barney Glover has stated that providing education facilities in CBDs close to transport is crucial to meeting expectations. In fact, WSU is considering closing their isolated suburban campus at Milperra and shifting its functions to Bankstown, Liverpool and Parramatta.

Bankstown is also of course in line to anchor the south-western terminus of Sydney Metro Line 1, with an extension to Liverpool being considered in the medium-term.

LIVERPOOL

These three universities already have embedded campuses in the precinct - by 2026, the health, research and education precinct will have a combined 30,000 jobs.

Nearby, WSU recently opened their Liverpool vertical campus, also the location of WSU’s business start-up incubator “Launch Pad”.

BLACKTOWN

Blacktown City Council recently announced they were seeking expressions of interest for a tertiary education institution to anchor a vertical campus within the council’s Warrick Lane development, currently in early planning. This is part of the council’s long-term Blacktown City Centre vision to reinvigorate the city centre of this 360,000 people-strong council area.

Tertiary Education STEMs take root in Western Sydney - the ‘Maker Space’ of Greater Sydney?

More details have emerged of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis, providing an early glimpse at the ongoing planning that will shape what is essentially a new city on the western edge of Sydney.

The Aerotropolis forms the centrepiece of the Greater Sydney Commission’s ‘<a href="https://www.greater.sydney/western-city-district-plan">Western Parkland City</a>’ and much-touted vision of the <a href="https://www.greater.sydney/metropolis-of-three-cities">Thirty Minute City</a>.

The region will support 200,000 new jobs in Western Sydney over the next 20 years, with high-level plans now well-advanced to deliver on this.

The Department of Planning has released for comment a <a href="http://www.planning.nsw.gov.au/Plans-for-your-area/Priority-Growth-Areas-and-Precincts/Western-Sydney-Aerotropolis/Key-actions-and-documents">Land Use and Implementation Plan</a> to guide the development of the 11,200 hectare site, with submissions closing on 12 October. This is the next step as laid out in the <a href="https://cities.infrastructure.gov.au/western-sydney-city-deal">Western Sydney City Deal</a>, a tri-level government arrangement to guide development on the site.

The Federal Government has provided funding and the state government has taken the lead in planning and implementation. 8 local councils have agreed to a "relationship framework" providing input to regional goals. Later this year, the NSW Government will firm up details on a new Western Sydney Aerotropolis Authority to take responsibility for master planning and development. The Greater Sydney Commission will partner with this authority, and the Sydney Metro Authority and NSW Department of Planning, to ensure the goals of the Western City District Plan are met.

A strict 125m height limit has been applied due to the nearby airport, however an urban environment of mixed-scale buildings will take shape.

The majority of housing is expected to be in the three to five-storey ‘walk-up’ range, with a mix of taller buildings close to transport, employment and social nodes.

The educational and residential districts will take advantage of protected and enhanced natural environments along the South Creek corridor, putting the 'park' in 'Parkland City'.

With an emphasis on recreation and active transport links, the environmental corridors will also manage flooding events.

The Northern Cluster already has significant development underway, with the first stage of the $5 billion <a href="https://www.celestino.net.au/sydneysciencepark/residential">Sydney Science Park</a> under construction, and the new airport is also in advanced planning stages, with earth-moving on site and in progress.

Source: Celestino</figcaption></figure>In the south, as previously covered in more detail by Apartments.com.au <a href="/news/further-details-emerge-for-western-sydneys-proposed-world-trade-centre">here</a>, <a href="http://aerotropolis.com.au/WTC%20SYDNEY">Aerotropolis Group</a> has been granted a license by <a href="https://www.wtca.org/">World Trade Centers Association</a> to establish the <a href="https://wtcsydney.com.au/company-overview/">World Trade Center Sydney</a> in Bringelly, near the Aerotropolis Core, in partnership with <a href="https://www.woodsbagot.com/news/new-world-trade-centre-sydney-proposal-focuses-on-mobility-and-sustainability/">Woods Bagot</a>.

The district is envisaged to create 43,500 jobs and inject $13 billion into the Western Sydney economy annually.

Aerotropolis Group Managing Direct and CEO Jomon Varghese summarises the strategic vision of the aerotropolis, saying "WTC Sydney... will resolve the structural problem faced by Sydney by bringing balance to our city which is historically tilted to the east." As part of the project, an international convention and exhibition centre will be built, aiming to open by 2026 in time for the beginning of operations at nearby <a href="http://westernsydneyairport.gov.au/">Western Sydney Airport</a>.

Motorway links, passenger and freight rail links, a large scale intermodal freight terminal, and of course, the Western Sydney Airport, plug the aerotropolis into metropolitan, regional, national and global networks.

This is a unique and transformative opportunity to shape a modern and liveable city to serve as the employment, social and connectivity centre of a region which will be home to 1.5 million people by 2036.

The Western Parkland City, along with its airport and aerotropolis, are well and truly cleared for take off.

Western Sydney Aerotropolis Ready for Take Off

Western Sydney is well and truly "booming", according to the Future City Minds report commissioned by a recruitment agency.
“Smart, forward-thinking businesses can capitalise on Western Sydney’s growth by targeting the 65% of Western Sydney professionals who would prefer to work outside the CBD rather than within it,” says Adrian Oldham NSW managing director of the Michael Page agency (pictured above). 
The report states that 64% of Australian professionals believe that in the next five years the area has the potential to progress economically to the level of the CBD areas of Sydney or Melbourne.
The report provides statistics on the region’s growth and advice from local experts on how businesses can make the most of the thriving business district.
It notes things like 64% of Australian professionals would personally like to be part of the area’s progression and 91% of Australian professionals in the region would like to change their jobs to work closer to home, given the right opportunity.
The area is already Australia’s third largest economic region, home to 47% of Sydney’s population and it is projected to have a 1.9% population growth each year for the next 20 years.
Michael Page anticipates Western Sydney will provide 200,000 new jobs by 2020 and anticipates growth in sectors across property, infrastructure and construction, manufacturing, sales and service-related industries.
