First, they have secured funding from ANZ, making it one of the few new residential developments in Melbourne backed by a Big Four bank. Over 52,000 sqm of open spaces have received approval in <a href="/developers/sekisui-house-australia">Sekisui House Australia</a> and Hankyu Hanshin Properties $5 billion urban renewal masterplanned community, Melrose Park in Sydney’s north west.

The trio of parks, Central Park (17,586 sqm, soon to be renamed), Wharf Road Gardens (19,960 sqm), and Western Parklands (15,102 sqm), will provide&nbsp;expansive green spaces for the growing community.

Central Park will be the heart of <a href="/developments/melrose-park-nsw-2114">Melrose Park</a>, offering a dynamic and inclusive space for residents and visitors to enjoy and connect with nature. This park is due for completion early 2026, ready for new residents moving into the recently released fifth stage,&nbsp;<a href="/new-apartments/dawn-melrose-park-bundil-boulevard-melrose-park-nsw-2114">Dawn</a>.&nbsp;

Alex Grujovski, Project Director of Apartment &amp; Mixed-Use Developments at Sekisui House Australia, says the parks will serve as a central gathering point, encouraging people of all ages to interact while also supporting biodiversity and sustainable urban growth.

Tim Conybeare, Studio Director at <a href="/landscape-architect/aspect-studios">ASPECT Studios</a>, says Central Park is designed as a place where people can come together to explore, unwind, and enjoy a variety of landscapes.

"It will feature gardens, open lawns, shady promenades and a play space inspired by river mangroves, creating an immersive play experience for children,"&nbsp;Conybeare said.

“Central Park is structured into three key zones. The Upper Terrace features a scenic lookout and escarpment gardens inviting all ages to relax. The play space and lawns will be a central activity hub for families and recreation. The Plaza near the new Town Centre will support community events."

Beyond Central Park, Wharf Road Gardens features a shared path connecting Hope Street and the broader Melrose Park area. With an emphasis on movement and passive recreation, the gardens will include boardwalks, native plantings and riparian habitats that enhance biodiversity.

Western Parklands will act as a buffer between residences and new developments, offering recreation opportunities. A shared path will connect the north and south parts of Melrose Park, linking to the Town Centre and Central Park. Fitness stations, nature play areas, and a detention basin at the southern end, doubles as a recreational area in this park.

<a href="/architects/turner-studio">Turner Studio</a> won the design competition to take the architectural reigns. Their unique design includes a raised podium that links the two towers. The three-level podium, collectively named ‘Gully Forest,’ will feature a landscaped sanctuary adorned with lush greenery, alongside smaller breakout and seating spaces, a distinctive outdoor kitchen, and garden pavilions.

The ground floor podium is strategically designed to provide extensive retail and hospitality frontages for commercial tenants, activating the entire precinct.

On the second level of the podium, an open-air community space will be home to barbecue facilities and smaller group gathering areas.&nbsp;Above will feature flexible workplace tenancies, as well as spaces designated for a fitness centre and medical practice.

Parkside living in Parramatta: Cosmopolitan by Deicorp to offer parkside apartments in Sydney's second CBD

Kensington and Kingsford, two of Sydney's most connected inner-east suburbs, are about to become even more accessible with Randwick City Council's K2K Plan.

The K2K Plan aims to revitalize the <a href="/developments/kensington-nsw-2033">Kensington</a> and Kingsford Town Centres, while also enhancing bus services, creating new cycleways, and improving pedestrian infrastructure along Anzac Parade.

The plan will also introduce new public parks and upgraded retail and hospitality venues, boosting local economic activity and making these two suburbs even more desirable places to live.

Several developments are currently underway in the corridor, with Scape and Unilodge bringing student accommodation to the area bordering UNSW.

TOGA chose to develop in Kensington for the same reasons they chose Surry Hills and Marrickville: excellent public transport connections, doorstep amenity, and a wealth of employment opportunities, particularly in the growing health precinct in neighboring Randwick. This combination of factors, as well as significant higher education institutions nearby,&nbsp;has made <a href="/new-apartments/the-kensington-147-151-anzac-parade-kensington">The Kensington</a> highly appealing to a diverse range of residents including students, professionals, and young families. Investors, who are rarely seen in today’s new apartment market, have also shown interest, expecting strong rental demand.
