The team behind Cape Wickham is coming to the Hunter Valley

The team behind some of Australia's most highly regarded golf courses has been appointed to deliver the championship course at Capital Corporation's $1 billion Lovedale Farm community in the Hunter Valley.

Capital Corporation has appointed Programmed Turnpoint to construct the 18-hole course that will sit at the heart of the 240-hectare residential, resort and golf community on Wine Country Drive.

Programmed Turnpoint has delivered more than 17 golf courses across Australia and overseas, including Cape Wickham on Tasmania's King Island (below), which was ranked the second-best golf course in Australia in Golf Australia Magazine's 2026 Top 100.

The specialist golf course contractor was also behind Magenta Shores on the NSW Central Coast, which has consistently ranked among Australia's top courses since opening in 2006.

More recently, Programmed Turnpoint has been delivering The Cliffs on Kangaroo Island in South Australia, a $20 million destination golf course set to open this year.

Its appointment represents another significant step forward for Lovedale Farm, where more than half of the 240-hectare site will ultimately be retained as golf fairways, bushland, parks and water features.

The golf course is scheduled for completion in late 2028, alongside the first 200 homes in Stage 1 of the community. Capital Corporation has already sold 85 per cent of the first residential land release.

Capital Corporation Managing Director Jim Hunter said Programmed Turnpoint's experience delivering some of Australia's leading golf courses made it a natural fit for the project.

“Programmed Turnpoint's experience with courses like Cape Wickham and Magenta Shores gives us real confidence in the calibre of golf course we'll deliver at Lovedale Farm,” Hunter said.

“This is a significant step in bringing our vision for the Hunter Valley's finest golf address to life.”

Founded in 2002, Programmed Turnpoint now employs more than 100 staff across 13 sites and maintains more than 12 golf courses nationally.

Its team spans golf architects, construction managers, course shapers, agronomists and irrigation specialists, allowing it to manage projects from the initial earthworks through to grow-in and ongoing course maintenance.

Leading the Lovedale Farm project will be Programmed Turnpoint's Justin Trott, President of the Society of Australian Golf Course Architects.

Trott joined Turnpoint in 2011 following 16 years as a Design Associate with Thomson Wolveridge & Perrett, where he worked across several of Australia's best-known golf destinations, including Moonah Links, The National Golf Club and Hamilton Island.

His background spanning golf course design, construction and turf maintenance will see him involved throughout the delivery of the Lovedale Farm course.

“We're incredibly excited to partner with Capital Corporation on a site as special as Lovedale Farm,” Trott said.

“There's something rewarding about building a course in a region as steeped in golf and wine culture as the Hunter Valley and my background across design, construction and maintenance means I can see this project through every stage, from the first cut of turf to the day members are on it.”

The golf course will ultimately form the centrepiece of the broader Lovedale Farm community, which will comprise 500 residential lots alongside a 300-key resort and day spa and a new dining precinct.

H&E Architects has also been appointed to design the project's 1,200 sqm clubhouse, which will sit alongside the golf course and is intended to become the main social hub for residents, members and visitors.

Capital Corporation is positioning Lovedale Farm as both a residential community and destination development, tapping into its location in the heart of Hunter Valley wine country.

Land at Lovedale Farm is currently priced from $667,800 for a 504 sqm block, while house and land packages start from $1.187 million.
