The Waverton residence known as The Ferryman has been scheduled for October 6 auction.

It's a freestanding two-storey Euroka Street residence with a 127-year history dating back to its construction by Michael Doyle.

Set within a heritage conservation zone, its been recently refurbished.

It comes with $1.18 million plus hopes through through Tom Scarpignato of Sydney Boutique Property.

Its named derives from an early former tenant. 

The agency also has the nearby semi  that was the abode in the 1920s to the poet Henry Lawson.
