Chatswood skyline set for another major change as Bridgestone breaks ground on Maison le Ceil

Chatswood's rapidly evolving skyline is set for another major addition, with Bridgestone Projects breaking ground on its $600 million twin-tower Maison le Ciel development before the project has even officially launched to market.

Bridgestone has appointed Westbourne Constructions to deliver the major Anderson Street project, which will see two slender 33-storey towers rise 117 metres above Chatswood.

The decision to start construction ahead of the sales campaign is a significant show of confidence from Bridgestone, and an equally strong signal to prospective purchasers who will be buying into a project already moving through its delivery program rather than waiting for the traditional pre-sales hurdles to be cleared.

Maison le Ciel is expected to launch to market shortly.

The project will deliver 123 residences at 44-52 Anderson Street, exclusively comprising three-bedroom configurations and targeting the premium owner-occupier end of the Chatswood market. Completion is currently targeted for early 2031.

Its arrival will further reshape a Chatswood skyline that has changed considerably over the past decade, and is set to continue doing so as new residential and mixed-use projects take advantage of the suburb's transport, retail and employment infrastructure.

Maison le Ciel's design was born from a Council-led architectural design competition won by Bridgestone in 2022. Make Architects led the concept design, with Turner Studio subsequently engaged to refine the architecture and Turf Design Studio handling the landscape architecture.

The defining architectural move is the separation of the development into two slender towers rather than a single broader building.

That approach seeks to reduce the project's perceived bulk while creating a landscaped "green spine" between the towers. Green terraces, communal open spaces and seating areas will be incorporated throughout the podium, while retail at ground level will address Anderson Street.

A two-storey commercial and retail podium will accommodate shops, offices and other business uses.

While every residence will have three bedrooms, Bridgestone has created four distinct product types across the towers, ranging from Duplex Apartments and Sky Houses through to Grand Penthouses and substantial two and three-storey Mega Penthouses with their own private rooftops.

Of the 123 apartments, 36 will be delivered as affordable housing, accounting for 15 per cent of the project's total floor space and exceeding the minimum contribution required under Willoughby's local planning framework.

Residents will have access to a pool, sauna, gym, clubhouse, community gardens and barbecue areas.

Below ground, an eight-level basement will accommodate 296 vehicles, including EV charging infrastructure, as well as 28 bicycle spaces.

Maison le Ciel is around 400 metres from Chatswood Transport Interchange, connecting residents to train, Metro and bus services, while the wider Chatswood retail and dining precinct is within walking distance.

Chatswood has been popular for both off the plan purchasers and developers in recent months. Lower North Shore developer-builder Hyecorp recently launched Celine, while Coronation also started its sales campaign at Archer & Albert.
