Leading Sydney developer <a href="/developers/deicorp">Deicorp</a> has officially broken ground on its $1 billion Showground Pavilions project in Castle Hill, marking the start of construction on one of the most significant residential projects in Sydney’s north-west.&nbsp;

Located within the Hills Showground Station Precinct, the Precinct East project – known as Showground Pavilions – will deliver 873 new homes across five residential buildings designed by award-winning architecture firms <a href="/architects/turner-studio">Turner Studio</a> and <a href="/architects/group-gsa">GroupGSA</a>.

The development will also include 44 affordable dwellings, a 3,500 sqm public park, and communal outdoor spaces such as landscaped courtyards, a playground, barbecue areas and shaded seating.&nbsp;

“The Hills Shire is one of the fastest-growing regions in the country, with our population projected to reach 328,000 by 2041," said Mayor Dr. Michelle Byrne.&nbsp;

"This rapid growth presents significant challenges, particularly amid a national housing crisis. That’s why developments like the Pavilions are critical to addressing these challenges. It’s a prime example of situating high-density development close to public transport, community facilities, such as Castle Hill Showground and shopping centres, like Castle Towers."

Dr&nbsp;Byrnev said it is also great to&nbsp;see affordable housing set aside for key workers such as nurses, teachers, and police officers—helping them to live in the community they serve.

The development forms part of the Hills Showground Station Precinct – an urban renewal initiative led by Landcom and Sydney Metro. Deicorp was selected to deliver both the East and Village precincts, with the neighbouring 430-apartment Hills Showground Village now under construction and Stage 1 nearing completion mid-year.&nbsp;

In total, Deicorp’s contributions across both sites will deliver over 1,300 new dwellings and provide more than $2 billion in economic impact. The Precinct East project alone is expected to generate over 5,000 jobs throughout construction and deliver upwards of $200 million to State and Local Government, including local contributions and taxes.

Planning approval for Showground Pavilions was granted by the Department of Planning and Environment in February 2025. The approved scheme includes a considered mix of 136 one-bedroom, 527 two-bedroom, and 210 three-bedroom apartments, with design principles shaped by the site’s natural context and seamless integration with surrounding open space.&nbsp;

“This milestone marks our continued commitment to building vibrant, connected communities along the Sydney Metro line,” said Deicorp Founder Fouad Deiri.&nbsp;

“Showground Pavilions is an outstanding example of how smart, transit-oriented development can help address Sydney’s growing housing demand while creating places people are proud to call home,” Fouad added.&nbsp;

Showground Pavilions is due to launch to market in the coming months.&nbsp;

Following a record-breaking sales launch earlier this year, activity has ramped up on site with work commencing on the first stage of the project, a key anchor in the broader <a href="/developments/melrose-park-nsw-2114">Melrose Park</a> North Urban Renewal Precinct.

Melbourne’s largest urban renewal project, the Fishermans Bend Innovation Precinct (FBIP), has reached a major milestone, with construction now underway to transform the former GM Holden site into a world-leading hub for advanced manufacturing, engineering, and design.

Backed by the Allan Labor Government, the FBIP is a cornerstone of the broader Fishermans Bend redevelopment, covering 480 hectares across the City of Melbourne and the City of Port Phillip.&nbsp;

Once complete, the precinct is expected to support up to 80,000 residents and 80,000 workers by 2050.

<h2>Stage 1: Infrastructure That Unlocks Jobs and Investment</h2>

The newly appointed Winslow Infrastructure Pty Ltd will deliver the first stage of the development, establishing a vital east-west road link between Salmon Street and Todd Road. This connection will unlock development-ready lots and attract significant industry investment to the precinct.

Smart infrastructure will play a key role in the FBIP’s future. OneWifi has been appointed to install smart poles across the precinct, enabling enhanced 5G coverage, improved Wi-Fi access, and support for electric vehicle charging.&nbsp;

These smart features are part of a broader strategy to create a digitally connected and sustainable innovation precinct.

Central to the precinct’s innovation ecosystem will be the University of Melbourne’s new School of Engineering and Design, opening in 2026. This campus is set to become a linchpin for collaboration between students, researchers, and industry leaders, with a strong focus on applied knowledge and practical solutions.

Gardner Vaughan kicks off construction at Danby Lane, Nundah

Leading Australian developer and builder, Coronation Property Group, has officially broken ground to mark the start of construction at its new $250 million mixed-use residential and commercial development at Chatswood.

Located at <a href="/new-apartments/57-61-archer-street-chatswood">57-61 Archer Street</a>, close to the Chatswood Chase and Westfield Shopping Centres, the 32-level&nbsp;development has been recognised as a State Significant Development (SSD) by the NSW Government’s Housing Delivery Authority (HDA). It will deliver over 150 one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments.

Designed by global architectecture firm Woods Bagot, the project will also feature 2,500 sqm of retail and commercial space on the ground level, with a restored heritage building repurposed for fine dining, wellness facilities, and a communal landscaped open space for residents.

Coronation’s Managing Director Joe Nahas said he was proud that the Chatswood project represented Coronation’s first move into Sydney’s bustling North Shore market.

Gold Coast-based builder-developer MAYD has officially started construction on its landmark project, One Burleigh, a collection of ultra-luxury full-floor residences overlooking&nbsp;Burleigh Heads.

The apartments in One Burleigh have been designed by&nbsp;MAS Architecture Studio and will each feature&nbsp;four bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and three car spaces. Internal living areas span up to 381 sqm, complemented by generous outdoor spaces, culminating in total floor plans of up to 425 sqm.
