The Agency has transacted more than $200 million of real estate since opening in February. 
The Agency has a corporate goal of 600 agents in 12 blue chip locations by 2020.
Matt Lahood says The Agency, which is backed by Ausnet and the Finsure Group, will be adding 40 agents over winter.
Former Marshall White director Peter Kakos is heading the Melbourne office.

Lower North Shore newcomer Province joins The Agency

As usual, Melbourne and Sydney are the two busiest capital city auction markets this week, with 969 and 863 auctions scheduled; down from last week’s final result of 1,129 and 927 auction’s held respectively.
Auction activity is expected to be lower week-on week across each of the individual capital cities, with the exception of Tasmania, where volumes will remain relatively steady.

Reservoir set to be busiest weekend auction suburb: CoreLogic

Shopping centre giant Vicinity Centres has begun the search for a new chief executive with Angus McNaughton to retire at the end of this year.
The surprise announcement comes just under two years since Mr McNaughton stepped back into the top role in controversial circumstances following the merger that formed formed Vicinity.
"Including my time with Novion and its predecessor, CFS Retail Property Trust Group, I have been involved with this business for nearly 10 years," Mr McNaughton said in a company statement on Thursday.
"It has been a privilege to be part of Vicinity's transformation and, together with the board and executive team, to establish Vicinity's strategic direction.
"Vicinity is in a strong position and I am very confident in the highly competent executive team that we have built and their ability to drive the future growth of our business."
In August 2015, Mr McNaughton replaced Steven Sewell, who led Federation Centres when it merged with the larger Novion.
​But Mr Sewell's management styled irked the new board, which moved to axe its chief executive just two months after the the 2015 merger was formalised.
Mr McNaughton, who had stepped aside when the merger took place, was recalled and has led the growth of the renamed Vicinity, now an $11 billion property trust, since then.
The New Zealander has bedded down the amalgamation that created the second largest listed landlord of Australia retail property.
Among the highlights of his renewed tenure, Mr McNaughton has overseen a $660 million expansion of Chadstone shopping centre, now Australia's largest mall.
The mall is co-owned by Financial Review Rich Lister John Gandel, who is also Vicinity's largest shareholder and will be influential in the selection of the its next chief executive.
Among the challenges for Vicinity's next leader will be the rapidly changing retail environment that is forcing landlords to rework their massive shopping centres to re-engage shoppers enticed by the ease of online retailers such as Amazon

Mall giant Vicinity's CEO to resign

Gavin Rubinstein, who started as a personal assistant when he entered the real estate industry aged 20, won last year's national AREA award for excellence in customer service.

The Ray White Double Bay agent won the award at the Annual REA Excellence Awards (AREAs), hosted by REA Group, the parent company of realestate.com.au.
The 2017 nominations close June 30 for the next awards.
At the time he won he was exceeding $250 million worth of sales over the prior 12 months.
One of his celebrity clients, tailor Patrick Johnson and interior designer wife Tamsin, sold their Darling Point apartment for $1,775,000 earlier this year.
Rubinstein says he "never sugar coats" the situation with sellers.
"I always tell my clients what they need to hear, rather than what they want to hear,” he said.
“Even before the agency agreement is signed, I make myself available to my clients around the clock. My mornings start at 5am and my evenings go late into the night so I am always on the task at hand and my clients know this about me should they need to make contact.”
Rubinstein says he has found technology, media and social media was a great way to stay in touch on a mass scale.
"It’s guerilla marketing,” Mr Rubinstein told News Ltd on his victory.
“I engage with most of my clients through Facebook, LinkedIn or Instagram and constantly am active on these platforms.”
He said what sets him apart from other agents all comes down to hard work.
“Work ethic and discipline around what is required to be done daily to succeed in this business.
"I simply outwork the competition. 
"It is very hard to beat someone who doesn’t give up.”
In 2015 Rubinstein was awarded the number one salesperson for the Ray White Group worldwide in 2015.
He has been the number one salesperson across New South Wales for the last four years running.
"I think you have got to shut out all of the noise and just work damn hard," Rubinstein recently told Elite Agent.
"That’s the key. You could talk about all of these tricks and you can wrap it up in a pretty bow, all sorts of fluff, but at the end of the day, hard work trumps it all."

Paddington three bedroom house sold for $4.365 million

Mackay's housing market has had its second-largest annual housing median price fall, according to the REIQ'S Queensland Monitor Market's latest report.
Mackay reported the second-largest fall in the state’s annual median price, falling 8.7 percent from $345,000 in March 2016 to $315,000 this quarter.
Over five years the fall has been 24.6 percent, from $418,000 in 2012.
Sales volumes increased from 256 over the September quarter to 311 over the December quarter.
Listings have also increased, up by 40.5 percent, effectively preventing rising demand from putting upward pressure on prices.
Listings bumped up from 2372 listings in February 2016 to 3332 listings in February 2017.
The increasing number of listings has eliminated the benefits from the increasing demand of housing.
In contrast to other areas in regional Queensland, median days on market and median vendor discounting improved for the 12 months to February 2017.

Median days on market reduced from 81 days in February 2016 to 69 days on February 2017, and, median vendor discounting reduced from 10.7 per cent to 9.8 per cent for the 12 months to February 2017.
This is a clear indication that demand is increasing and vendors are having more realistic price expectations.
For a fourth consecutive quarter, the median sale price for units followed a downward trend triggering a reduction in the annual median sale price of 14.6 per cent, from $266,500 in March 2016 to $217,500 for March 2017.
This compared with the median sale price of $325,000 five years ago in March 2012.
The most active price range for units is for transactions below $250,000.
The volume of transactions in Mackay has increased by 75.8 per cent from 33 sales in September to 58 sales in December.
The size of the unit market remains very small, which adds a level of complexity and challenges to a market where the number of listings increased by 57.5 per cent for the 12 months to February 2017.

The market trend indicators to February 2017 position Mackay as the region with the longest median days on market (133 days or more than four months) and the highest vendor discounting (13.9 per cent).
The rental market in Mackay is weak, although the vacancy rate tightened from 7.9 per cent to 6.4 per cent in March.
Local agents indicated that vacant properties usually receive only one rental application and tenants have their choice of available properties.
The weekly median rent over the March quarter held steady or increased for three-bedroom houses, three-bedroom townhouses and two-bedroom units.
This was just the reflection of a stronger rental demand over the first quarter of the year.

Mackay's housing median price sees second-largest annual fall

Sydney’s median house price is expected to decline in the next three years.
Figures from BIS Oxford Economics has predicted that in 2020 Sydney’s median price will fall by 4% to $1.15 million compared to this year’s median price of $1.2 million.
This is compared to Canberra where it has an expected rise the highest of all, at 16% from $665,000 in 2017 to $770,000 in 2020.
The only other locality with a predicted drop in median price is Darwin where BIS Oxford Economics has predicted that there will be a fall of 1% from $525,000 to $520,000.

The biggest is Brisbane with a predicted drop of 7% from $425,000 to $395,000.
Sydney, Melbourne and Darwin follow soon after with a predicted drop of 4%.
In contrast to this Hobart’s unit median price is expected to increase by 6% from $315,000 to $335,000.

Median house price for Sydney expected to fall in next three years

Senior writer at the Australian Financial Review, Neil Chenoweth, has reported the Sydney property developer Michael Teplitsky allegedly asked for a 7 percent fee to "clean" part of $24 million which was the proceeds of an alleged blackmail distribution in the alleged Plutus Payroll tax fraud.
The allegations were claimed by the Australian Federal Police in NSW Supreme Court documents.
Teplitsky has not been charged in relation to the matter, and there's no suggestion he had any knowledge of the alleged misconduct of the alleged fraud or blackmail.
The federal police detailed phone intercepts in which Mr Teplitsky discussed a loan at 21 per cent interest, made to his company from diverted Plutus funds via a Hong Kong company, Moshav Financial Limited.
"I can take as much as you want up there and clean it up for you through here," Mr Teplitsky said on an April 27 phone call to property consultant Dan Hausman.
Housman is charged with allegedly being part of a conspiracy to commit tax fraud through the Plutus Payroll Australia group.
"I know mate, if it was anybody else it would have costed you 15 per cent, I was doing it for seven, but I think I am getting it away for free," Mr Teplitsky told Mr Hausman.
"It comes back nice and f--king clean," Mr Hausman told Dan Rostankovski, an alleged co-conspritator in the Plutus fraud.
 
"Oh beautiful, perfect, perfect, that's awesome," Mr Rostankovki told Mr Hausman on the December 7 call after he confirmed the $250,000 transfers.
The deals are described in an AFP affidavit filed last month. 
The alleged blackmail involved in the Plutus Payroll matter allegedly saw Rostankovski (with Mr Hausman as a secret partner) blackmail their alleged co-conspirators with a threat to go to the police.
Mr Teplitsky has not been charged over the Plutus matters.
The Australian Financial review advised it is not suggested Teplitsky was aware of the tax fraud or of the alleged blackmail.
Hausman negotiated with Mr Teplitsky to handle the funds, beginning with a $5 million loan to Mr Teplitsky's Tepcorp Surrey Hills Pty Ltd by Mr Rostankovski's company, Luminous Investment Holdings, via the Hong Kong company. A total of $7 million in principal and interest was to be paid back, the AFP affidavit says, with monthly instalments of $87,500.
But a side agreement ensured that all of the $7 million would actually come from Hausman and Rostankovski, before it was returned to them.
"Well what happens is that we're giving him a total of 7 [million], being 5 through the loan and we're giving him two the other way," Hausman said in a March 14 telephone call to a lawyer handling the paperwork, referring to the side deal.
"And you want to do as much as possible, so, you know what I mean, and then I'll clear it out so you can get the cash back," Mr Teplitsky told Hausman on April 16.
"Yeah getting it out and then converting it back, back to you."
The deal was secured by an unregistered mortgage on an office tower in Short Street, Surrey Hills, owned by Tepcorp.
Mr Teplinsky's company would repay $7 million on the loan to Luminous, ostensibly funded by rent payments by the building's tenant, the Whitehouse Institute of Design (which had no knowledge of the deal).
"Just let you know everything is going as smooth as it can be," Mr Teplitsky told Hausman on May 3.
The AFP affidavit says that $6 million was transferred from the Lands Legal Trust Accounts to a Hong Kong account of Moshav Financial Limited on May 4.
The AFP raided Mr Teplitsky's business 12 days later.
Mr Teplitsky sold his major asset, 100 Harris Street, Pyrmont to listed property group Dexus for $327.5 million yesterday.

The house where the infamous Sydney ‘granny killer’ murdered his last victim has been demolished, the local paper, the Mosman Daily has reported.
A $3.5 million new build mansion will be built on the land at <a href="https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/newslocal/mosman-daily/granny-killer-john-wayne-glovers-final-murder-location-is-demolished/news-story/92898d213c1fd042d4fd57f682f6f5dc" target="_blank">14 Pindari Ave, Beauty Point</a> where John Wayne Glover was captured in 1990.
He had tried to kill himself in the bath after leaving the body of 60-year-old widow, Joan Violet Sinclair on the carpet in March 1990 with the police waiting unaware outside.
The 1,427 sqm site, was snapped up in April 2016 for a discounted $3.8 million.
It had previously changed hands for a discounted price of $915,000 in 1991.
The six-bedroom house, built in 1920, had been briefly rented out for $2,500 a week since last May, the Mosman Daily reported.
The Granny Killer, John Wayne Glover was convicted in 1991 of the murder of six elderly women.

The project will comprise 40 half-floor residences of approximately 260 sqm, alongside eight full-floor residences spanning around 524 sqm.

A single penthouse will crown the building, featuring a private pool, barbecue area, indoor gym and dedicated entertaining spaces.

Sales agent Todd Matheson, of <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/project-marketer/pezet-matheson">Pezet Matheson</a>, which is marketing both 137 Old Burleigh Road and Sea Glass, said 137 Old Burleigh Road would address a clear gap in the market for genuine luxury products.

Located on a 1,156 sqm site one block from the beachfront, the development will replace an ageing walk-up building and is expected to contribute to the ongoing transformation of the Old Burleigh Road strip into one of the Gold Coast’s most prestigious residential corridors.

With the development moving into the delivery phase, 137 Old Burleigh Road is slated to hit the market later this year.

DVB Projects to launch second Broadbeach apartment tower as demolition commences

A proposal to redevelop one of North Sydney's ageing commercial buildings has taken another step forward, with plans for a 38-storey mixed-use tower adding momentum to the long-awaited transformation of the Alfred Street precinct.

Now on public exhibition through the NSW Government's Housing Delivery Authority-led State Significant Development pathway, the proposal for 271-273 Alfred Street would replace an underutilised commercial building with 95 apartments, ground-floor retail, commercial space and affordable housing. The proposal was submitted by&nbsp;Tara Shore Pty Ltd, acting for the John Taylor Family Trust.

While the project will deliver much-needed housing on the southern edge of the North Sydney CBD, it also represents another piece of a broader precinct that has spent years in planning limbo.

Despite its proximity to both North Sydney Station and the Victoria Cross Metro, redevelopment of Alfred Street has progressed slowly over the past decade as broader planning controls, zoning and building heights remained unresolved. The introduction of the Housing Delivery Authority pathway has provided a new avenue for projects to progress, allowing rezoning and development assessment to occur concurrently and unlocking sites that have long been earmarked for renewal.

Designed by Office of Cortese &amp; Gilder, the proposal seeks to do more than replace an ageing office building. The architects have positioned the project as the first stage of a wider public domain vision that would improve pedestrian connectivity and create a more cohesive mixed-use precinct as neighbouring sites are redeveloped over time.

The proposal includes a widened Alfred Street setback, new street trees, landscaping and outdoor seating, along with a landscaped through-site pedestrian link connecting Alfred Street with Little Alfred Street. The connection is intended to become the first section of a future east-west pedestrian network extending across the precinct.

The mixed-use tower would comprise retail space at ground level, commercial uses on level two and apartments from level three upwards.

In total, the development would deliver 95 apartments, including nine one-bedroom, 28 two-bedroom, 56 three-bedroom and two four-bedroom residences. Twenty-one apartments, representing 15 per cent of the residential gross floor area, would be secured as affordable housing and managed by a registered community housing provider for at least 15 years.

Nine basement levels would provide 133 resident car spaces, seven motorcycle spaces and 111 bicycle spaces.

According to the Architecture and Urban Design Report, the public domain strategy is designed to transform what is currently an inward-facing commercial edge into a more active and connected pedestrian environment, creating a stronger relationship between the commercial core and surrounding residential neighbourhoods.

Office of Cortese &amp; Gilder has also prepared a broader public domain framework spanning neighbouring properties between 263 and 283 Alfred Street, arguing that a coordinated approach to redevelopment will deliver better public spaces, improved tower separation and a more connected streetscape as the precinct evolves.

The proposal comes at a time where North Sydney is slated for future residential growth. Commercial developer FiveX has residential plans for the neighbouring site at 275 Alfred Street. They've proposed a 39-storey mixed-use tower with 184 apartments, while Freecity was recently approved for nearly 300 apartments across a 51-storey building on Walker Street.

Residences at EADE Byron Bay are currently priced between $4.75 million and $15.95 million.
