Growing national developer Time &amp; Place has announced its fifth new apartment development.

With two projects in Manly and two upcoming in Surry Hills and Potts Point, the developer, which expanded beyond Melbourne just a few years ago, is now heading to Mosman. It is planning 53 new apartments on Redan Street.

The 3,233 sqm site, spanning <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/40-48-redan-street-mosman-nsw-2088">40–48 Redan Street</a> with frontage to Redan Lane, is located just under 400 metres from Spit Junction Town Centre. It is reported the developer paid around $100 million for the five-site amalgamation.

Time &amp; Place, founded by Tim Price and backed by James Packer’s private investment firm NPACT, has submitted the project as a State Significant Development through the NSW Government’s Housing Delivery Authority pathway.

Of the 53 apartments, 42 will be released to the market, with the remaining 11 allocated as affordable housing in line with NSW Government requirements.

fjc Studio has designed the building. In its Design Report, the architect said the diverse mix of dwelling types and sizes, including 11 two-bedroom affordable housing units, 40 three-bedroom apartments, and two four-bedroom residences, will support a broad demographic, including families, downsizers, and key workers.

The development will rise to nine levels, a height encouraged by the NSW Government due to the site’s proximity to Spit Junction, which has been identified as a low- to mid-rise centre. Developments within a certain proximity to these centres are permitted increased height.

fjc said the project “achieves an appropriate density outcome for its setting by balancing increased housing supply with strong amenity performance,” adding that it “makes a measurable contribution to NSW housing supply targets through the delivery of additional dwellings and dedicated affordable housing.”

The new development will replace five existing two-storey homes.

“By aligning with the objectives of the Housing SEPP and applying careful architectural and urban design principles, the development provides high-quality residential accommodation that integrates sensitively within its established Mosman context and delivers enduring benefits to residents and the wider community.”

Mosman has become increasingly popular with developers in recent years.

Developer Abadeen has been particularly active, with Mosman Residences currently on the market and under construction on Clifford Street. It also has an upcoming Burran Avenue project, comprising just three apartments on the Balmoral Slopes, and recently secured the Midas and Honeysuckle nursery site on Military Road.

Prosker Property has a project on Redan Lane, just a few doors down from Time &amp; Place’s proposed development.

Developers including Toohey Miller, DARE Property Group, and WINIM also have projects underway in the area. In 2024, a five-year target was set for the Mosman LGA to increase housing supply by 500 dwellings by 2029.

Time &amp; Place entered the Sydney market with Two Tides, its under construction Manly development. Given its sales success, it has secured another development in the area, more boutique, facing the beach on North Steyne.

They are hoping to launch their redevelopment of The Chimes in Potts Point this year, and next year will look to take to market Marlborough House, an adaptive re-use of the landmark David Jones warehouse in Surry Hills.

Stuntman and film director Nash Edgerton has bought a family home in Sydney. The Randwick home will be the base for him and Carla Ruffino.
Blacktown-born Edgerton snapped up the home just two weeks into its ­marketing for $3,565,000.
It was the home of Adam Chimes, the director at Chase Gallery, and wife Tayla. The Chimes had paid $1.64 million for the 1910 home in 2014 and undertook a full-scale renovation two years ago.
Retaining original fixtures, the modernised single-level home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms on its 360sqm block. The kitchen and family area opens to an entertainers’ deck that meets a heated pool.

Edgerton is also directing the FX Australia black comedy-drama series Mr Inbetween.

Randwick mortgagee home sells at auction

The now UK-based former South Sydney Rabbitohs star George Burgess and wife Joanne had no sooner landed in the UK than their redundant Randwick home was sold for $3 million.
Mark Carroll and Lauren Simpson, two fitness stars, will soon become its first occupants, along with their other recent purchase, Rocky, a Husky puppy.
Simpson, who has a following of 1.7 million on Instagram, was the 2018 WBFF Bikini World Champion and Carroll is a well known trainer and is head of education at Clean Health Fitness Institute. 
The recently departed Burgess paid $2.7 million for the apartment off the plan in early 2016 when it was just him and his then girlfriend, the interior designer Joanna.
George, Joanna and the kids were greeted recently at the UK airport by the welcoming extended Burgess clan, included his former NRL playing brother Luke Burgess and mum Julie.
Now married with three children, the new Randwick apartment was always going to be surplus to their family requirements.
Having signed with English Super League club Wigan Warriors, the apartment was listed ahead of its recent completion.
Burgess scored the Randwick sale through his former team mate turned NG Farah Real Estate agent Beau Champion and Glenn Farah.
Burgess had been in red and green since 2012, playing 150 games for the club.
He won the 2014 Premiership with the Rabbitohs alongside twin brother Tom and older brothers Sam and Luke.
The split level apartment in the MHNDU-designed block of eight known as EPOQUE has three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Located at the rear of the block, the upper level garden homes a plunge pool. There's 270 square metres of external space, added to the 125 square metre internal.
Last year he offloaded the family's former Chifley home for $1.6 million, as well as a Little Bay investment which sold for $1.35 million.
Over 50 Australians have played for Wigan over the years.
They are in training with the season kicking off at the end of January.
Burgess is joining ex New Zealand Warrior Thomas Leuluai, who joined the northern club in 2017.

Now the couple have married and have a family of three, the latest born just weeks ago. And Burgess has signed a three-year deal with Wigan Warriors which will take the family back to the UK.

South Sydney Rabbitohs star George Burgess will need to decide what to do with his almost completed Randwick apartment given his imminent move back to the UK.
In early 2016, Burgess spent just over $2 million on an off-the-plan purchase, with an intention to move into the boutique MHNDU-designed Epoque unit with his then girlfriend, interior designer, Joanna.
The now married couple had their third child only last month, with Blainey, Birdie and Boston all under three years of age.
Having recently inked a three-year deal to play for the Wigan Warriors in the ­English Super League, their three-bedroom garden apartment could instead ­become an investment or be listed for sale.
Local agents are, so far, unaware of any plans.
Burgess will no doubt be keeping an eye on his neighbour who is looking to flip another garden apartment at $2.45 million.
McGrath Coogee agents Nicholas Wise and Adrian Bo have been marketing the on-sale for six months without success.
The much-delayed project was a sellout through Laing &amp; Simmons agent D’Leanne Lewis by late 2016.
She says settlements are now early October.
The development company, directed by prolific developer Ronnie Shulkin and Bernard Stang, bought the Higgs St site in 2014 for $3.66 million and secured ­approval in the Land and Environment Court in early 2016 for the four-storey block comprising eight apartments.
The Burgess family’s former Chifley home was sold late last year. It had been bought from his former teammate, builder Tim Grant.
Burgess’s former teammate turned estate agent, Beau Champion, sec­ured its sale at $1.6 million.
