Wangararu, the $5 million Brighton East trophy home, sold

Wangararu, the historic Brighton East trophy home has been sold for $5 million.

The 1890 mansion is one of the finest estates in the area. It last sold at $1.22 million in 1994.

Previously known as Brighton Park, the heritage listed Victorian residence is set on 2,504 square metres.

It has a heated swimming pool and floodlit north-south tennis court.

Its period features include bay windows, soaring ceilings and marble fireplace mantels.

Kay & Burton agent Ian Jackson secured the sale.
