A five-bedroom, four-bathroom home in Brighton has sold at auction for $6.2 million.

The home, on 1467 square metres across two titles, attracted just the two bidders. Its auctioneer Leigh Hallamore started the auction of the Victoria Street offering by accepting a $4.9 million offer according to the James Buyer Advocates attendee Kristen Hatt.

Then followed another $180,000 taking the sale price to $6.2 million through Buxton agent Brian Devlin. It had been listed unsuccessfully in early 2012. The expansive family/informal dining and living room had sliding glass walls opening out to Japanese-inspired gardens with tennis court, pool and entertaining area. The last acquistion cost $1.51 million in 2003. It came with parking for five cars.
