Gaia embraces Kangaroo Point’s riverfront lifestyle

Gaia embraces Kangaroo Point’s riverfront lifestyle

Kangaroo Point’s riverfront has entered a new phase of connectivity, with the peninsula now linked directly to Brisbane’s CBD by the Kangaroo Point Bridge and its established riverwalk network extending along one of the city’s most recognisable stretches of the Brisbane River.

One of the larger remaining residential sites along that waterfront took Pikos Group more than a decade to assemble, combining eight adjoining properties.

Now taking shape there, Gaia devotes more than 4,200 sqm to private riverfront parkland and resident amenity, making the scale of its site as much a part of the project as its Kangaroo Point address.

Across the landscaped grounds are more than 22 wellness, leisure and lifestyle amenities, including a riverfront pool and sun terraces, hot and cold plunge pools, sauna and steam room, an indoor gym and yoga lawn. Private dining and a chef’s kitchen, wine cellar, rooftop entertaining areas, resident lounges and work-from-home spaces broaden how the grounds can be used throughout the day.

The result is an unusual amount of private open space within an inner-city riverfront address. Rather than treating landscaping as a perimeter to the buildings, Gaia integrates it throughout the residential environment, strengthening the connection between the residences, gardens and Brisbane River.

That connection to the outdoors continues beyond Gaia. Kangaroo Point’s riverside paths provide an established setting for walking and cycling, passing the suburb’s cliffs, parklands, picnic areas and river viewpoints before connecting into Brisbane’s wider active-transport network.

The opening of the Kangaroo Point Bridge has brought the CBD closer still. Gaia is around a 12-minute walk from central Brisbane via the pedestrian and cycle crossing, with the bridge arriving beside the City Botanic Gardens and providing a direct route into the city’s workplaces, retail and dining.

The peninsula also remains connected by ferry and bus, while road links via the Clem7 Tunnel and Pacific Motorway provide access across Brisbane and the wider South East Queensland region.

Closer to home, Kangaroo Point has its own collection of riverside dining, including Medley on Wharf Street and Joey’s on River Terrace, while Howard Smith Wharves, James Street and South Bank expand the choice of restaurants, bars and entertainment within the surrounding inner city. The Gabba is also nearby, while across the river South Bank brings together QPAC, GOMA, Queensland Museum and its established dining and cultural precinct.

It is this ability to move between private riverfront greenery and the wider city that underpins Gaia’s location. The project’s sales team reports that purchasers have responded particularly to the scale of its resident amenity and the integration of nature, landscape and wellness, with riverfront living, connectivity and privacy among the factors being cited.

Behind Gaia is Pikos Group, a privately owned Brisbane property and investment group founded in 1988. Across more than 65 projects and 2,500 residences, the developer has established a portfolio focused on residential projects in prominent Brisbane locations.

Now under construction, Gaia will comprise 237 two, three and four-bedroom residences, with penthouses also planned. Two-bedroom residences are currently priced from $1.8 million, with completion targeted for late 2027.
