Uniting delivers over-70s Yamba retirement community on NSW North Coast
Uniting is selling the final residences at its recently completed retirement living community in Yamba.
The not-for-profit aged care and community services provider is offering a mix of apartments across a four-storey building, and a handful of villas, within the large 3.4-hectare Yamba Road precinct.
The retirement living community is only available to those over 70, and comes with a dedicated resident clubhouse.
Stephen Edwards Constructions completed the project in 2025.
The community has been designed with a broad mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, alongside two-bedroom villas, giving downsizers the option of apartment-style living or a more traditional low-rise home.
One-bedroom apartments are priced from $625,000, while two-bedroom apartments start from around $750,000. Two-bedroom villas are available from $780,000, with three-bedroom waterfront apartments available by enquiry.
The homes have been designed specifically with older residents in mind, with open-plan living areas, stone-topped kitchens, built-in wardrobes, internal laundries, reverse-cycle air conditioning and bathrooms with non-slip tiling.
Private balconies or courtyards feature across the residences, while secure parking, lift access and a 24-hour emergency call system have also been incorporated throughout the community.
A key focus of the design has been making the homes easy to live in as residents' mobility changes over time, while still prioritising natural ventilation, privacy and a strong connection to the outdoors.
Residents also have access to a clubhouse, library and dedicated barbecue and entertaining areas, while pets are permitted.
The location adds another layer to the downsizer appeal, with the community sitting close to Yamba's beaches, cafés, parklands, pharmacies, public transport, the local cinema and Yamba Farmers Market.
Yamba, at the mouth of the Clarence River, has become an increasingly popular coastal destination for downsizers looking to move away from larger family homes while retaining access to established services and amenity.
The project adds to Uniting's growing retirement and seniors living portfolio across NSW. The group is also behind the major $300 million Uniting Charlestown development, along with established communities at Kingscliff and Wesley Gardens.
The Yamba community operates under a retirement village model, with residents paying a departure fee when they eventually leave the village.
