British expatriates Paul Burton and Alison Fudge, retired marketing professionals who sold their company in Melbourne, have their Palmers Island, NSW property listed for sale.

It is in a rural area with a 6.2 acre plot on the banks of the Clarence River.

It was bought in 2005 and the couple spent a year building the house which was featured earlier this month as the Wall Street Journal Asian edition house of the day.

Riverscape comes with $2.5 million plus hopes through Unique Estates Australia.

"Riverscape would make a superb holiday retreat or family home and is a must for anyone looking for a luxurious waterside lifestyle property," its listing agent Nicolette van Wijngaarden said.

The five bedroom home as been marketed as just a short boat ride away from nearby islands, beaches, bars & hotels and the seaside town of Yamba, recently voted as the number one town for Australian travellers.

"Designed as the ultimate dream home, this magnificent architectural property provides the optimum in relaxed luxury," the marketing says.

"Master built, it boasts superior quality fittings, contemporary appliances and materials as well as historical details such as old bridge timber posts and 90 year old red mahogany floorboards.

"The house has been designed to maximise the views over the river and surrounding ranges and the use of glass and timber assist in achieving an intimate connection with the elements.

"Designed over two storeys, the top floor features a magnificent open plan living dining & kitchen area opening onto expansive decks," it says.
