The sale of the resort-like Mona Vale beachfront residence of veteran property developer Max Delmege has been settled at $3.5 million, which was its reputed selling price.

The two-level Surfview Road house sits on an 870-square-metre block.

Its repeated marketing over two years was accompanied by reduced price estimates until finally sold at an undisclosed price last October.

It was settled just before Christmas.

In November a not-quite-knockdown five-bedroom Mona Vale beachfront house sold for $3.28 million, giving an indication of Mona Vale beachfront pricing.

For many years Delmege was the financial saviour of his beloved Sea Eagles, pumping millions into the club he co-owned.

He’s lived on the northern beaches since 1965, starting his own real estate office in Avalon in 1967.
