Ian "Dicko" Dickson's single-fronted, Victorian house in Prahran property fetched $1,257,500 at weekend auction.

It sold for well above its $1.15 million reserve, Hocking Stuart auctioneer Andrew James told the Herald Sun.

The English-born celebrity, known best as a judge on Australian Idol and Celebrity Apprentice, winner paid $1,102,000 in 2008 for the three-bedroom house.

The Willis Street home was listed after securing a radio gig in Sydney.

Hocking Stuart Armadale sales consultant Lauchlan Waterfield described the three bedroom property as "generous, freestanding and very smartly presented".
