Eco-friendly Bondi home sold at auction

A free-standing tri-level trophy home in Sydney’s Bondi has sold at recent auction for $4,225,000.
There was a $3.8 million opening bid.
Designed by architect Drew Heath, the eco-friendly family home offers five bedrooms and four bathrooms.
Heath specialises in handcrafted buildings with low environmental impact.
It was designed with Japanese influences.
Situated at 10 Glen Street, the residence follows this trend by utilising wide reclaimed jarrah timber floors from Fremantle woolshed, solar hot water and 5,000 litre water tanks.
The home includes a spa, terrace and a self-contained apartment in the garage that lends itself to independent accommodation or a teenage retreat.
The home, which last traded in 2001 at $655,000, is located a five minute walk to both Bondi and Tamarama beaches.
McGrath agents Simon Exleton and Mackenzie Dale marketed the listing.
The property was briefly listed in 2015 with $2.75 million hopes.
