A pivotal aspect of The Porter House Hotel’s design is its ability to invite the public into its precinct.

Regarding its recognition with the Greenway Award for Heritage, the jury stated that The Porter House Hotel "stands as a testament to meticulous heritage conservation and adaptive reuse."

Originally completed in 1883 as the ‘Dixson &amp; Sons’ tobacco factory, the building has transitioned over the years, accommodating various businesses before its transformation into a contemporary hotel.

The Porter House building has now taken on a new life as the Porter House Hotel, a 122-room hotel with suites, private event and conference rooms, and hospitality venues.

"The existing timber structural frame has been faithfully exposed with sensitively detailed augmentations," noted the jury. "Reconstruction of the entry-level ground plane, reinstatement of the original bald face facade and liberation from non-original awnings ensures clear legibility of the complete heritage item from the public domain."

Unique hotel interventions and interior elements within The Porter House Hotel are choreographed as crafted elements, tuned in balance with the retained manufacturing building.

<a href="/buildings/aura-by-aqualand-north-sydney-168-walker-street-north-sydney-nsw-2060">AURA by Aqualand</a> will be North Sydney's pioneering new development, offering some of the most high-end apartments in the suburb designed by Woods Bagot and Richards Stanisich.&nbsp;

The 29-level building will home 386 apartments, comprising one, two, three, and four-bedroom units, including sub-penthouse and penthouses.

The apartments offer a seamless transition from open living spaces to inviting winter gardens or balconies, while some units feature a multi-functional room that can serve as an additional living area, an office, a bedroom, or an ideal guest room.

The interior designers at Richards Stanisich have thoughtfully curated three contemporary colour palettes for AURA residences – light, mid or dark. All palettes are very textural and evoke a sense of feeling from lightness to opulence.

<a href="/buildings/aura-by-aqualand-north-sydney-168-walker-street-north-sydney-nsw-2060">AURA by Aqualand</a> represents the fifth residential project delivered by Aqualand since the company’s launch in 2014 and is well on the way to joining a portfolio of other notable completed projects such as BLUE at Lavender Bay in Milsons Point and The REVY at Darling Island, which were also awarded at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards.

<a href="/buildings/blue-at-lavender-bay-61-lavender-street-milsons-point">BLUE at Lavender Bay</a> won the Best Luxury Apartment Development (New South Wales) and Best Mixed-Use Architectural Design titles, while The REVY at Darling Island was awarded the Best Luxury Heritage Development and Best Waterfront Apartment Development.

The founder and group managing director of Aqualand, Shangjin Lin, was named Australia Real Estate Personality of the Year by the editorial team of Property Report by PropertyGuru magazine for his achievements in spearheading some of Australia’s largest urban renewal projects.

AURA by Aqualand is the second project to be delivered by Aqualand’s internal construction arm, <a href="/developers/aqualand-australia">Aqualand</a> Construction.&nbsp;

The development’s construction has reached its structural top-out, and the wall framing, joinery, stone, and services are now being installed in the apartments.&nbsp;

The estimated completion date is mid-2024.
