It’s been 15 long years since the former Balmain Leagues Club was open to the public. The large 7,330 sqm Victoria Road site had grown progressively more derelict since the doors to the former club shut back in 2010.

Earlier this year, the vertically integrated developer PERIFA, part of the Versatile Group of companies, stepped in and acquired the site, quickly getting to work on construction through its building business Versatile Construction.

PERIFA teamed up with financier Mitsubishi Estate Asia to create <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/rozelle-village-rozelle-152-victoria-road-rozelle-nsw-2039">Rozelle Village</a>, a new community heart of the charming inner west suburb. Buyers weren’t prepared to wait any longer to purchase. When it was time to start selling the development, PERIFA and SRM Residential had buyers queuing out of the display suite door. They secured over 40 sales on launch, including several high-end three-bedroom apartments with sales reaching up to $6.9 million.

It has been the much traded premises, selling three times in nine years, and going back in price too. The Kerry's have picked it up at its 2009 price. It sold inbetween at $5.6 million in 2015.
The couple are seeking $20 million for their historic Darling Point home Greenoaks Cottage, built in 1850 for industrialist Thomas Mort to a delightful design by colonial architect Edmund Blacket.
The Kerry's bought it from the Haege family in 2015 for $6.525 million and commissioned architect Tanya Hancock.

The now restored and extended Queen Street, Woollahra childhood home of Dame Joan Sutherland has been listed with ambitious $13.5 million hopes.
It is being offloaded by Singapore billioniare Ronald Ooi and wife Erica Han who paid $4 million in 2011.
The four bedroom house became Sutherland's home after her father died suddenly on her sixth birthday in the early 1930's. 
The now restored Clyde Cottage was sold by the family sold in 1951.
Considered Singapore's richest people, Ooi sold his 40 year old families securities and investment broker company for $1.35 billion to Maybank.nge.
Undertaken by studiointernationale and May+Swan Architects, the original residence at the front was maintained and two interconnected pavilions were added.
The property was built between 1853-63, Sutherland's grandfather Alexander Alston extended the home to add a second storey
Several years before her death Sutherland noted: "Unfortunately, from the time my family gave up the house, the deterioration set in.”
Dame Joan had properties in Chalet Monet, Les Avants, Switzerland and Bellevue Apartments, Potts Point, Sydney and Villa Rocca Bella at Whale Beach.
No expense was spared on by Ronald Ooi, who attended university in Sydney.
His family have since opted to reside permanently in Singapore.
