Repeat buyers are one of the strongest measures of confidence in any apartment development.

Their decision to purchase again was driven by the quality of life they found after moving into their first GWH home.

Keith Wilton had spent years living in a house in East Maitland before deciding it was time for a change. Apartment living had always been on his radar, but he was selective about what he wanted.

“One of those things was a nice indoor open plan area, but also I wanted a nice outdoor open area that I could entertain on in summer or Christmases or birthdays,” he says.

Today, Keith says the move has completely changed how he experiences Newcastle.

"I enjoy living in this location because it's more of a lifestyle change. That Newcastle city living where you can walk to restaurants and bars and even beaches and parks and even shopping across the road."

For Aimee and Lyle Goodman, the journey started almost by chance.

"We were aware GWH was planning a development," Aimee says. "We made one phone call and things moved pretty quickly after that."

As busy business owners, they initially thought apartment living would simply reduce the maintenance that came with larger homes. Instead, it fundamentally changed how they spent time together.

"We actually catch up more as a family now," Aimee says.

"We've had homes with big yards and lots of space, but everyone ended up in different rooms. Here we'll have dinner together, the kids can play, and we spend far more quality time together."

"One of the things that really impressed us with GWH was the whole process, was the communication," Lyle says. "It was consistent, it was regular, there was no problem if we had some weird questions, there was no problems in getting answers."

"The form feels fluid and timeless, as though shaped by the landscape itself – architecture that belongs, rather than competes," said Chris Stribley, Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Cera Stribley.

The judging submission also highlighted practical innovations throughout the building, including lift cores servicing only nine homes each, a central landscaped lightcourt designed to bring daylight and ventilation into the building, and fully enclosed private storage rooms with lighting, power and shelving to better accommodate residents transitioning from larger family homes.

The Gold Award for Interior Design recognised the project's focus on long-term liveability rather than display-home aesthetics.

According to the awards submission, the interiors were designed from the inside out, prioritising how homes would function over decades of daily use through generous proportions, practical storage, durable natural materials and flexible layouts.

The specification includes natural stone throughout, upgraded acoustic glazing, V-ZUG appliances and fully enclosed storage rooms, alongside an amenity offering focused on wellness, entertainment and everyday convenience.&nbsp;

The project's attention to detail has already resonated with buyers. Earlier this year, Kooyongkoot recorded one of Boroondara's highest apartment sales when an $8 million penthouse was purchased by a Melbourne CEO downsizing from a nearby family home.

The apartment price gap drawing Sydney buyers west

A luxury beachfront apartment at Rainbow Bay has more than doubled in value since it sold off the plan six years ago, setting a new local apartment record in the process.

The three-bedroom apartment in the Flow development on Petrie Street, the first of four new projects locally by Paul Gedoun's S&amp;S Projects, has sold for $7.4 million, after originally selling for $3.27 million when the project launched in 2020.

The seventh-floor apartment, comprising 187 sqm of internal living space and a 54 sqm balcony overlooking Froggies Beach and Snapper Rocks, was purchased by a local family.

The transaction was negotiated by Pezet Matheson director Kerry Pezet and equates to more than $30,000 per sqm.

Pezet said the sale reflected the limited opportunities to buy into the boutique beachfront development.

"The sale highlights the rarity of opportunities within the boutique beachfront development, where residences seldom become available," Pezet said.

"Flow is one of the Gold Coast's most tightly held buildings. Buyers from our database move quickly when residences become available, and achieving an off-market sale at $7.4 million demonstrates the depth of demand for property of this calibre."

Pezet Matheson Residential principal Mitchell Lambert said buyers continued to prioritise quality beachfront apartments in tightly held locations.

The local buyer secured the penthouse in Ozone Residences.

Luxury Cronulla unit sale smashes area price record

Potts Point has seen its third highest apartment sale, with an second floor harbourside apartment in Pomeroy selling off market for $10.05 million.
It was sold by Macquarie executive John Wilson.
It was sold an exisiting owner in the Macleay Street building who wanted more bedrooms and the elusive four car spaces.
The 340 sqm apartment has four terraces, two master wings, four bedrooms and five bathrooms, reflecting around $30,000 a square metre.

It comes with 48 sq m in its terraces with water glimpses overlooking Rushcutters Bay from its second floor location.
It was consolidated off-the-plan during the 2003 construction of the Winten-built block. 
It last traded for $6 million when it was sold in 2010 by Di Jagelman who had consolidated the two apartments.

The top sale apartment price in Potts Point remains $15 million for the ninth floor Pomeroy penthouse which was sold by property developer Bob Ell to John Piven-Large in 2013.
Ell consolidated the penthouse offering with his initial $9.75 million purchase in 2005 from the Rothwell developer and added the lower floor apartment at $3.5 million which was bought from the late interior designer Garth Barnett. 
The penthouse came with 370sqm of internal space plus 200sqm of balcony space, four car spaces and dual harbour views. Designed by architect Susan Rothwell, the 34-unit Macleay Street block won the 2004 UDIA high density award after Mirvac's Chateau Hotel was demolished following its closure after the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
Other than the Pomeroy penthouse, there's only been other sale above $10 million on the Macleay Street dress circle, which came in 2014 when philanthropic Americans John Alchin and Hal Marryatt paid $10.95 million for a three storey penthouse in the Georgian which was then gutted in a renovation.
There was a reported off the plan $11 million sale of a penthouse in the hourglass-shaped Omnia tower redevelopment of the Crest Hotel in November 2015 which will be coming up for settlement later this year.
It was sold by Greenland as having an early 2018 completion date.

The tower’s marketing director, Erin Van Tuil, said the apartments had been benchmarked against projects in global cities such as London, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore.
"The residences are very international," the sales' marketing suggests.
The architect suggests 10 years ago a development like One Barangaroo would have been nearly impossible. 
"That’s mainly because of the technology – it’s quite advanced. 
"We’ve got a lot of double curvature surfaces, which you couldn’t have done in the past."
The only other reported sale was to the former bookmaker Bob Blann at more than $40 million for a whole-floor apartment.

Blann has exchanged on a 515-square-metre apartment on level 61, equating to a bullish $77,670 per square metre for the western corridor apartment location.

Of the 80 residential apartments on offer, only three are whole-floor offerings, including Blann’s on level 61 and two immediately above it.
Each successively higher apartment is an average of 20 square metres smaller than the one below.
James Packer’s apartment is understood to be between level 40 and 50 of the 70-level tower.
Both sales have smashed the previous national apartment price record of $27 million set in late 2016 for one of the penthouses in the Opera Residences development at Circular Quay.

Luxury apartments at One Barangaroo to start at $9.5  million

A 15th-level, three-bedroom South Yarra apartment in the Robin Boyd designed Domain Park, largely in original condition, went to weekend auction.
It had a price guidance of $2 million to $2.2 million.
There was a $2.3 million opening bid.
It was auctioned by Marshall White auctioneer John Bongiorno who immediately declared the property on the market.
Three bidders then pushed the north-facing apartment, with protected views over the Royal Botanic Gardens and the city, to its $2.91 million sale price.
The 15th-level, three-bedroom apartment came with two car spaces at <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-apartment-vic-south+yarra-127919850" target="_blank">15.1/193 Domain Road</a>.
