Melbourne developer Spacious Group has completed Voyage Altona, one of the closest new apartment developments to Altona Beach.

Off the plan purchasers have started moving into the 49-apartment project on Pier Street, with the remaining move-in-ready one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments starting from just over $500,000.

Display apartments have now been fitted out, allowing prospective buyers to inspect the completed residences by appointment.

Gold Coast City Council has approved Lýon Residences, a 32-level tower that will deliver 178 two and three-bedroom apartments across a prominent corner site at 8-10 Acacia Avenue and 25-27 Oak Avenue.

The approval comes as developers continue to invest in premium lifestyle-driven apartment projects on the Gold Coast, where owner occupiers are increasingly prioritising amenity as much as apartment size and location.

Homecorp Founder and CEO Ron Bakir said Budds Beach provided the ideal location for the company's latest luxury apartment project.

Iwan Sunito's vision for a landmark mixed-use precinct in Sydney's Inner West has taken a major step forward, with approval granted for the $1.9 billion Five Dock development first unveiled earlier this year.

The approved scheme by <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/one-global-capital">One Global Capital</a> will deliver an 80,500 sqm mixed-use precinct comprising 840 apartments, integrated hotel accommodation, commercial and retail space, alongside publicly accessible open space designed to create a new destination for the growing suburb.

"This is a significant milestone for One Global Capital and for the future of housing delivery in Sydney," Sunito said.

"The Housing Delivery Authority was established to identify major housing projects capable of delivering meaningful supply more efficiently, and we are delighted that Spencer Street has been recognised as one of those projects.”

He said the declaration reflected the rapid progress achieved since acquiring control of the site.

"In less than seven months we have progressed from taking control of the site to securing entry into one of the NSW Government's most important planning pathways. It reflects the experience of our team, the strength of our consultant group led by Urbis, and our long-term commitment to delivering transformational projects that contribute to Sydney's future."

When the project was revealed earlier this year, Sunito described the opportunity as one of the strongest development sites he had worked on.

"The proximity to the water, and the golf course opposite, is unlike any other part of Parramatta Road. We have a unique position and view corridors over the water that makes this one of the best sites I've worked on."

The development has evolved since its initial announcement, with the approved plans increasing the residential component from the originally proposed 750 apartments to 840 homes while retaining the project's focus on creating an integrated neighbourhood rather than a standalone residential development.

Sunito has consistently described the project as a "city within a city", with a strong emphasis on creating a destination that extends beyond housing.

"We want to create a development that's not only to be seen, but to be experienced by the whole local community," he said.

The approval comes as Five Dock continues its transformation ahead of the opening of the Sydney Metro West line, with the new Five Dock station set to significantly improve connections between the Inner West, Parramatta and the Sydney CBD.&nbsp;

The precinct will also benefit from its proximity to the Parramatta Road corridor, nearby waterfront parklands and established retail and dining offerings that have made Five Dock one of Sydney's most tightly held Inner West suburbs.

Departing Australia Olympic Committee media director Mike Tancred lists in Mosman

The prominent economic bear Gerard Minack was one investment analyst who warns of a recession as Australia ended its once in a century mining boom. 
Now he turns up on Monday's Four Corners with the ABC program investigating the forces driving our debt fuelled housing boom.
The program drew together key bearish experts to map the danger zones in the housing market.
It also revealed the Australian suburbs currently experiencing the highest levels of mortgage stress in the boom market.
"I don't know when we get a downturn that pops this, but sure as hell one's coming," he told 4 Corners.
Gerard Minack, the former head of developed market strategy at Morgan Stanley, said Australia had been led down this path by current tax arrangements and lenders who had been increasingly willing to leverage up borrowers.
This, he said, had created “a massive affordability problem” that will exacerbate the pain associated with any downturn.
Australia now has a household-debt-to-income ratio of 190 per cent.
“For every $1 of household income, there’s [nearly] $2 of debt,” Mr Minack said.
Ofcourse Minack quietly upgraded Mosman homes a little while back, with hushed commentary coming from his former colleagues at Stanley Morgan.
He purchased a Mosman property for $4.2 million through agent Ben Svenson at Century 21 Mosman.
The completely rebuilt three storey house is nestled away in a private location with views of Middle Harbour. Locals say he bought well as the block cost $2,725,000 some 10 years ago.
Minack's former Spencer Road Federation has sold for $3.1 million having paid $1.2 million in 1999. His 15 year ownership saw the property value appreciate at an annual rate of 6.45%.
Both homes featured five bedrooms but his new acquisition comes with those prized views.
In 2015 before his purchase Minack forecast when "we get across-the-board unemployment then we’ll get an across-the-board downturn in house prices; it’s just a matter of time."

His purchase, tipped by Fairfax Media, marks a triumphant return to Mosman for Rose, who grew up in the Balmoral Beach trophy home Seacliff.
The waterfront property was sold by Ying Li, from China, who had bought it in 2012 for $20 million.
The Bay Street estate was previously owned by retired car dealer Laurie Sutton and the late TV presenter Bob Dyer. 
It was sold through Mark Manners, of Simeon Manners.
Settlement is expected to confirm the sale price, but it is understood to have topped an underbid of $22.3 million.
Rose owns at Vaucluse where he bought almost a decade ago for $4.62 million.
Rose’s new Beauty Point estate was the home of retired car dealer Laurie Sutton for 35 years after it was sold in 1977 for $376,960 by the late television presenter and quiz show host Bob Dyer and his wife Dolly.
Rose Group was founded by veteran property developer Bob Rose in 1976, and his son Bryan is joint managing director with his brother Stuart.

The downsizing Australian boss of the Godolphin stables, Henry Plumptre and wife Michelle have a new home.
The boss, Dubai Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum has written a cheque on a $5 million mansion in Mosman.
It comes ahead of a bumper day for the stable at Royal Randwick today in day one of The Championships.
The Mosman home has four bedrooms and two bathrooms with rear decking and swimming pool.
It last traded for $1,775,000 in 2003. 
Richardson &amp; Wrench agent Andrew Blaxland sold the home off market in one inspection with no marketing, the website advises.  
Plumptre's home was secured under the Godolphin company name, as was his former Bellevue Hill trophy home which cost $5.25 million on Bulkara Road home in 2005.
Plumptre has been renting in Mosman since the Bellevue Hill home sold in August last year for $6.85 million, just a week on the market through James Keenan at Ray White Double Bay.
Royal Randwick sees Plumptre's famous Godolphin Blue Army out in full force this weekend.
The Dubai Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum's Goldophin breeds horses in Australia, France, Japan, Ireland, America and the UK.
