Keith Wilton had spent years living in a house in East Maitland before deciding it was time for a change. Apartment living had always been on his radar, but he was selective about what he wanted.

For Aimee and Lyle Goodman, the journey started almost by chance.

"We were aware GWH was planning a development," Aimee says. "We made one phone call and things moved pretty quickly after that."

The Gold Award for Interior Design recognised the project's focus on long-term liveability rather than display-home aesthetics.

According to the awards submission, the interiors were designed from the inside out, prioritising how homes would function over decades of daily use through generous proportions, practical storage, durable natural materials and flexible layouts.

The specification includes natural stone throughout, upgraded acoustic glazing, V-ZUG appliances and fully enclosed storage rooms, alongside an amenity offering focused on wellness, entertainment and everyday convenience.&nbsp;

A luxury beachfront apartment at Rainbow Bay has more than doubled in value since it sold off the plan six years ago, setting a new local apartment record in the process.

The three-bedroom apartment in the Flow development on Petrie Street, the first of four new projects locally by Paul Gedoun's S&amp;S Projects, has sold for $7.4 million, after originally selling for $3.27 million when the project launched in 2020.

The seventh-floor apartment, comprising 187 sqm of internal living space and a 54 sqm balcony overlooking Froggies Beach and Snapper Rocks, was purchased by a local family.

The transaction was negotiated by Pezet Matheson director Kerry Pezet and equates to more than $30,000 per sqm.

Pezet said the sale reflected the limited opportunities to buy into the boutique beachfront development.

"The sale highlights the rarity of opportunities within the boutique beachfront development, where residences seldom become available," Pezet said.

"Flow is one of the Gold Coast's most tightly held buildings. Buyers from our database move quickly when residences become available, and achieving an off-market sale at $7.4 million demonstrates the depth of demand for property of this calibre."

Virginia Burmeister, the new girlfriend of Channel 9 personality Richard ‘Dickie’ Wilkins, is severing old ties.
She’s listed her former Manly home, which she once shared with her estranged husband, investment banker Mark Burmeister, for June 30 auction. 
There’s a caveat on the Manly property, lodged by Mark’s lawyers Gilbert + Tobin, shortly after Virginia, 50, and Wilkins confirmed their relationship.
The $2.65 million purchase in 2014 was bought solely in Virginia’s name, however the caveat suggests Mark applied funds towards the purchase.

It also read that it had been the intention that the legal title would be held in a trust in the names of both as joint tenants.
The caveat concludes by saying it is unconscionable (in accordance with equitable principle) for the registered proprietor to maintain an interest in the land to the exclusion of the caveator.
It is being marketed as an upper and lower duplex by Michael Clarke at Clarke &amp; Humel Property, who has a June 30 auction with $4.3 million hopes.
The residence sits in a renovated Federation duplex known as Felton, just 200m from the beach. 
Virginia and Wilkins confirmed their relationship in October last year and have made regular appearances on Sydney’s social scene.

Richard Wilkins' girlfriend lists former Manly home

The last of Manly’s original waterfront beach shacks sold last week for $7.75 million.
Sources say gold bullion dealers Kurt and Nathalie Jaggard bought the home after recently putting their Balmoral home on the market.
The four-bedroom property had been passed in at auction at $7.9 million last November.
The heritage house at <a href="https://www.domain.com.au/118-north-steyne-manly-nsw-2095-2013853001" title="">118 North Steyne</a> had last sold to pharmaceutical industry boss John Loveridge in 2009 for $4,915,000.
The home was originally owned by the Stedmans, founders of Minties, Jaffas and Fantales. 
The home was built around 1906.
In 2002 the home was almost bulldozed to make way for apartments and was heritage-listed in 2006.
The local agents said the the old lady who once sat outside the home just looking out at the ocean was called the ‘Minties Queen’.
The home, Brise de Mer, named after the French phrase for “sea breeze” was renovated by developer Ted Byrne in 2006 who also built a six-storey block of apartments behind the house.

Last of Manly's original beachfront shacks sells to Jaggard family

A five-bedroom home in Manly fetch $9.71 million, the weekend's top result, when national auction levels hit all time highs in the pre-Easter sales rush.
The home at <a id="x_mcntLPlnk935992" href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-nsw-manly-127729154" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">67 Bower Street</a> (pictured above), one of nearly 1100 to go under the hammer in Sydney on the biggest auction day so far of the year, sold for close to $2 million above the reserve.
Clarke &amp; Humel agents Michael Clarke and Cherie Humel indicated two buyers were especially keen.
There were six bidders registered, with four active after bidding started at $7 million for the house built in the style of a resort-like Mediterranean luxury villa.
Across the harbour, the prominent Sydney restaurateur Kingsley Smith and hotelier wife Natasha Stanley secured $8.45 million when their Vaucluse home went to auction.
The couple paid $5.01 million for the home in 2014.

There was also a strong result in Sydney's inner west, where a six-bedroom Strathfield home on 1,359 square metres fetched $5.9 million.
The <a id="x_mcntLPlnk99289" href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-nsw-strathfield-127692802" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">64 Redmyre Road, Strathfield</a> sale was $600,000 above reserve through Strathfield Partners agents Robert Pignatoro and Vanessa Kim.
The property had failed to sell in a campaign with other agents last year.
There’d been eight groups register, with The Sunday Telegraph reporting a local Chinese family were the successful purchasers with a local Vietnamese family the underbidders.
CoreLogic calculated the total of 3,967 auctions held across the combined capital cities exceeded the previous highest week on record - the week ending 30 November 2014 when 3,908 auctions were held. 
Sydney's preliminary clearance rate stood at 66.2% based on the initial 1037 reported results.

The weekend's cheapest sale was a one bedroom at 16/57 Kingsville Street, Kingsville in Melbourne's inner west.

It last sold in 2002 at $110,000. It had been a $240 a week rental until recently.
There was <a id="x_mcntLPlnk973418" href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-vic-toorak-127690274" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">a $5.8 million Toorak sale</a> which was among the top Melbourne results.
The 725 square metres lot at 27 Linlithgow Road came with the option to complete the somewhat progressed luxury two apartment Tudor style re-development or start again on a single home. The price guidance has been $4.2 million to $4.6 million.
The owners were going to live upstairs and sell downstairs, but a dispute unfolded between them and the builder, resulting in work stopping around a year into the construction.
Four of the six bidders were Chinese with local residency. The buyer was a high net worth Chinese buyer, who lives in Toorak. 
A converted Fitzroy church hall at <a id="x_mcntLPlnk564346" href="https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-house-vic-fitzroy-127733910" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">182 Fitzroy St </a>— which featured as the home in Guy Pearce's TV drama Jack Irish — sold for $2,446,000 bettering its reserve by $446,000.
There had been $1.9 million to $2 million price guidance for the gold-rush-era Independent Hall which has served as a church, Aboriginal mission, kindergarten and film set.
Since 1973, it’s been a home, Nelson Alexander agent Rick Daniel said.
"Across Melbourne, a total of 2,078 homes were taken to market across making it a record busiest week in CoreLogic history; surpassing the previous record over the week ending 29 October 2017 when 1,983 auctions were held," Kevin Brogan, the CoreLogic auction analyst said.
Melbourne's preliminary auction clearance rate fell with these higher volumes to 67%, down from the previous week's 68.7%.
Canberra had the nation's highest preliminary auction clearance rate at 73.8%, based on the results of 107 of the 129 scheduled auctions. 
Canberra's top sale was <a id="x_mcntLPlnk182442" href="https://www.propertyobserver.com.au/https://www.allhomes.com.au/ah/act/sale-residential/16-hampton-circuit-yarralumla-canberra/1317500654011" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">a luxury Yarralumla residence</a> designed by architect Paul Tilse.
Its land value was put at $937,000 with a single level solar passive contemporary home that has a 6 out of 6 star energy rating. 
It was constructed in 2016 by builders Sutton and Horsley in the grounds landscaped by Foxy's Landscapes.
Brisbane reported a 49.2% preliminary clearance rate with 194 scheduled auctions, down from the final figure of 51.9% over the prior weekend.
Brisbane's cheapest sale was $320,000 in Hamilton. The 1/104 Windermere Road offering was last sold at $38,000 in 1980.
The Ray White selling agent Guy Horsley said the vendor was moving to a retirement home.

Adelaide's 67.3% success rate, with 143 scheduled auctions, was the second best across the capital cities.
But it was below the previous week's preliminary 69.7% figure which ended with a final revised tally of 64.3%.
Adelaide prices ranged from $395,000 at Trott Park to $1.62 million at Norwood.
The three bedroom sandstone <a id="x_mcntLPlnk273668" href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-sa-norwood-127798658" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">105 George St, Norwood</a> offering through Toop &amp; Toop had been in the same family for six decades.
The four bedroom split level <a id="x_mcntLPlnk409846" href="https://aldinga.ljhooker.com.au/house-in-trott-park-sa-5158-au-ptgfd4#.Wra7d60ZPq0" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">46 Hessing Crescent, Trott Park</a> offering had come with $350,000 price guidance.

Manly scores weekend top result in pre-Easter auction rush

A 1985-built apartment at Manly Beach has sold at $41,000 per sqm.
The near 140 sqm apartment on Marine Parade looking out to the Pacific Ocean fetched $5.7 million, just two weeks into its marketing campaign, Fairfax Media reported.
It last traded for $681,000 in 1992.

The apartment reportedly broke the record which had stood since 2016 when an off-the-plan apartment on Bower Street sold for $9.5 million, reflecting $33,807 per sqm.
That was a three bedroom apartment spanning 281 sqm. 
It was eight years that the record before that had stood for. A North Steyne Road unit sold for $12.2 million in 2008, a $30,000 per sqm price.

Harley Streten, better known as international music producer, Flume, has bought a Sydney bolthole.
The 26 year old DJ has purchsed a new Manly apartment.
He's paid $1.25 million for a two bedroom apartment in the newly completed Hum complex.
There are only two apartments per floor.
He's previously given his address as the family home in Seaforth where the ARIA Award winning artist grew up.
It was where he first began composing electronic music from his bedroom as an eight-year-old, with a free music program given away in a cereal box.
Flume, who opted for the moniker after the Bon Iver song of the same name, broke through in 2012 with his self-titled debut studio album.
The album topped the ARIA Albums Chart and reached double-platinum accreditation in Australia.
He hit the headlines internationally after he moved to LA for three months a few years later.
He released Skin in 2016, his second studio album, won the Grammy for best dance/electronic album a year later and went platinum in six countries.
Flume announced headline shows with all 300,000 tickets of the world tour selling out. 
It included more than 80,000 tickets in Australia.
A pioneer of future bass, Flume has remixed songs from the likes of Lorde, Sam Smith and Disclosure. 
Flume is currently touring in the states, with shows in Colorado and Utah coming up. 
Flume once told the NME that he doesn't see himself living in the Hollywood Hills.
"I don’t think I’d ever live on the Hills or whatever, I just want a nice little place.”
He's been revered on the northern beaches, though the mooted statute never got erected at Manly Wharf.
There was an online petition launched by Aussie music blog Stoney Roads last year with the petition noting "Manly is home to Australia’s finest electronic music export".

Flume finds a Manly bolthole

Celebrity interior designer Tina Chalabian, who first appeared on Channel Ten’s The Renovators, has bought a sub-penthouse apartment in Manly.

The designer paid $2.72 million for a <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-apartment-nsw-manly-126276862">four-bedroom, two-bathroom offering </a>on the Eastern Hill near Manly Cove.
The apartment spans 170sqm of indoor and outdoor living, with two balconies coming off the master bedroom and living area.
It covers half of the top floor of a mid-1980s full-brick block of four set in tropical gardens with shared pool, barbecue plus change room.

Manly’s four-bedroom apartments have ranged from $1.4 million up to $5.8 million this year, according to CoreLogic.
Chalabian first hit the screens as a contestant on The Renovators in 2011, having been working in the design field since 1999.
She established the homewares and interior design service Yellow Room in Cammeray in 2012.
