Keith Wilton had spent years living in a house in East Maitland before deciding it was time for a change. Apartment living had always been on his radar, but he was selective about what he wanted.

“One of those things was a nice indoor open plan area, but also I wanted a nice outdoor open area that I could entertain on in summer or Christmases or birthdays,” he says.

Today, Keith says the move has completely changed how he experiences Newcastle.

For Aimee and Lyle Goodman, the journey started almost by chance.

"We were aware GWH was planning a development," Aimee says. "We made one phone call and things moved pretty quickly after that."

As busy business owners, they initially thought apartment living would simply reduce the maintenance that came with larger homes. Instead, it fundamentally changed how they spent time together.

"We actually catch up more as a family now," Aimee says.

The judging submission also highlighted practical innovations throughout the building, including lift cores servicing only nine homes each, a central landscaped lightcourt designed to bring daylight and ventilation into the building, and fully enclosed private storage rooms with lighting, power and shelving to better accommodate residents transitioning from larger family homes.

The Gold Award for Interior Design recognised the project's focus on long-term liveability rather than display-home aesthetics.

According to the awards submission, the interiors were designed from the inside out, prioritising how homes would function over decades of daily use through generous proportions, practical storage, durable natural materials and flexible layouts.

The specification includes natural stone throughout, upgraded acoustic glazing, V-ZUG appliances and fully enclosed storage rooms, alongside an amenity offering focused on wellness, entertainment and everyday convenience.&nbsp;

The apartment price gap drawing Sydney buyers west

A luxury beachfront apartment at Rainbow Bay has more than doubled in value since it sold off the plan six years ago, setting a new local apartment record in the process.

The three-bedroom apartment in the Flow development on Petrie Street, the first of four new projects locally by Paul Gedoun's S&amp;S Projects, has sold for $7.4 million, after originally selling for $3.27 million when the project launched in 2020.

The seventh-floor apartment, comprising 187 sqm of internal living space and a 54 sqm balcony overlooking Froggies Beach and Snapper Rocks, was purchased by a local family.

The transaction was negotiated by Pezet Matheson director Kerry Pezet and equates to more than $30,000 per sqm.

Pezet said the sale reflected the limited opportunities to buy into the boutique beachfront development.

"The sale highlights the rarity of opportunities within the boutique beachfront development, where residences seldom become available," Pezet said.

"Flow is one of the Gold Coast's most tightly held buildings. Buyers from our database move quickly when residences become available, and achieving an off-market sale at $7.4 million demonstrates the depth of demand for property of this calibre."

And just north of the border marketing has kicked off on her Main Beach residential development on the sandy Gold Coast beach.
The Harvey Norman CEO sold the modern Kingscliff home for $2,675,000 through Mason Graham at Coastal Real Estate Group.
Page was one of the first on the exclusive North Point Avenue enclave which fronts the beach, paying $775,000 for the vacant 657 sqm parcel back in 2004.
She commissioned multiple Australian Architect of the Year Virginia Kerridge to design the five bedroom home.

Page was clearly impressed with the work done on the Kingscliff beach home as she commissioned Virginia Kerridge to design her exciting new M3565 apartment project at Main Beach.
Recently completed, the seven apartment tower at 3565 Main Beach Parade was built and designed to achieve a 5 Star Green Star rating by Kane Constructions.
It's the first highrise to be completed on the exclusive stretch for almost 30 years.
Each of the six full floor apartment comprises four bedrooms, four bathrooms and 404 sqm. Prices start at $6.2 million through Ray White Prestige agent Robert Graham.
The penthouse is being tipped to set a record price for the popular strip set when $9.2 million was paid by Melbourne businessman Peter Devitt in 2011 for the penthouse in Main Beach’s Liberty Panorama tower.
Spread over two levels, the 611 sqm penthouse comes with rooftop entertaining terrace and pool.
Page paid $15.5 million in 2007 for the 882 sqm block then battled council to secure her construction approvals.

Pages 's intense focus was on meshing high end luxury with strong environmental credentials.
“We have been planning this building for a very long time," she said.
"It is the most beautiful, amazing block of land – it is the dream.
"To be able to wake up in the morning and be on the beach in an area that is so different to the rest of the Gold Coast is really quite an extraordinary experience.”
M3565 was designed by Sydney architect Virginia Kerridge, who says the extensive use of contemporary finishes such as tinted concrete, timber shutters and zinc ensured the building was deliberately different to anything previously seen on the Gold Coast.
The result according to Ms Page is a building that “fits in rather than stands out”.
“Virginia loves environmental architecture, which is the kind of design that understands finishes and how they should respond to their environment not just when they are completed but in twenty years time.”
Page reckons great buildings "improve with age.”
Main Beach is considered one of the plump locations on the Gold Coast, being a quieter and considerably more exclusive beachfront enclave with high end shopping and restaurants that has been a favourite getaway destination for well-heeled Sydneysiders and Melbournians for decades.
