Mark and Roy Makari are expanding their presence in Sydney’s South West with a second major proposal for Leppington, this time envisioning a 900-dwelling mixed-use development just 850 metres from their previously lodged tower trio on Fifth Avenue.

The latest application seeks approval for a multi-building project at <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/230-rickard-road-leppington-nsw-2179">230 Rickard Road, Leppington</a>. The proposal seeks to establish a new focal point for the precinct through a high-density, transit-oriented development supported by diverse land uses.

According to the Scoping Report prepared for the Department of Planning, the scheme includes around 900 apartments across multiple towers, including 135 dwellings designated for affordable housing. A mix of market and subsidised apartments will be supported by ground-level activation through retail and office space, a childcare centre, and a hotel, forming a comprehensive urban precinct.

The project will be assessed through a future State Significant Development Application, with the Scoping Report indicating the team will seek design excellence via a competitive process or through an expert design review panel. Early massing diagrams suggest a series of mid- to high-rise buildings framing a central landscaped spine, with emphasis on pedestrian permeability and public space.

The planning documentation flags a strong sustainability agenda, stating that the development will “respond to the urban heat island effect, incorporate water sensitive urban design, and prioritise active transport”.

The proposal follows in the footsteps of the Makaris’ nearby Fifth Avenue site, where they’ve submitted plans for three towers comprising nearly 500 apartments, with 10 per cent dedicated to affordable housing. That project features commercial podiums, a childcare centre, and a new public park that would occupy more than a third of the site.

Both developments are situated within walking distance of Leppington Train Station and fall under strategic precinct plans promoting higher density housing. The town centre is undergoing substantial transformation, driven by state government planning reforms aimed at fast-tracking housing delivery.

Four grape producing Mildura properties listed

New York-based investment adviser Anchorage Capital Group is set to sell its Victorian and NSW dairy farms.
There are expectations they could fetch $50 million.
The properties include two in the south-west in Victoria, two at Finley, NSW, and one in Gippsland. 
PWC has been appointed to sell the five farms which are milking about 5000 head of cows.
Anchorage purchased the properties over three years from 2014 for about $40 million.
Fairfax Media suggest three or four groups pitched on a tender to sell the dairy portfolio, which is managed and operated by ACE Farming, founded by Jeremy Bayard.

<div class="cq-article-content-media section">The Australian Financial Review reported that ACE had purchased $15 million worth of farms including Balboora Farm at Finley as well as a large dairy farm at Blighty for a US client in 2017.</div>

Anchorage Capital Group lists its dairy farms

The Central Victoria's Wimmer region farm of Victorian Farmers Federation director Ross Johns has been listed for sale.
Paradise Rise is a 3237-hectare wool growing and cropping enterprise at Navarre. 
Market expectations are in excess of $10 million, Fairfax Miedia reports.
It includes 12,000 sheep, all growing crops, and plant and equipment.
 Colliers International are the appointed agents.
The town comes with<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navarre,_Victoria" target="_blank"> airfield</a>.

Paradise Rise, Central Victoria, listed for sale

Monomeith Park at Monomeith, just over 15 minutes from Pakenham, has been listed by the Bourke family after three generations of ownership.
The Bourke family has successfully run sheep and beef cattle on <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-livestock-vic-monomeith-7888982" target="_blank">the 228 hectare grazing property</a>.
It is for sale at $24,710 per hectare ($10,000 an acre) through Ruralco Property, Pakenham agent Ray Cullen.
Robert Bourke said his family’s ownership stretched back to 1907 when the run was about 3000 acres running beef cattle and, until the late 1940s, 8000 sheep.
The old woolshed and press are still here.
Sir Sidney Kidman was a great friend of the family and often visited Bourke's grandfather.
The double-fronted weatherboard homestead, built in 1899 and heritage-listed by Cardinia Shire, is surrounded by the sea of flowers in Vivienne Bourke’s garden.

Monomeith Park, Pakenham listed by Bourke family

The NSW Southern Riverina farm, Hazeldean at Womboota has been listed by Elders.
It is 1246 hectares.
Agent Wayne Eeles at Elders Echuca.
The 2889 Perricoota Road property is 15 minutes from Echuca and Moama.
It land use includes grazing, cropping, irrigation with cereals, sheep and cattle given its rich red loam and sandy loam soils .
The property enjoys supply direct from Murray River Irrigation.
The homestead comes with generous 10 foot verandahs with a restored 60 square home.
