Builder-developer Urban Property Group (UPG) is continuing to expand into new markets. UPG is heading to the Hills District, where it is planning a 40-storey mixed use building near Castle Hill Metro Station.

They've gone down the favoured developer route of a State Significant Development Application, which should see developments approved within the space of nine months.

The tower will comprise 371 apartments, 42 of which will be affordable housing, above a ground-floor retail precinct at 16-20 Old Castle Hill Road, on the corner of Garthowen Crescent and within walking distance of Castle Hill Metro Station, an area identified for higher density under both local and state strategic planning frameworks.

Designed by <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/architects/studiosc">Studio SC</a>, the tower would rise from a brick podium base, accommodating one retail tenancy and communal open space, before transitioning to a slender glazed residential form above. Six basement levels are proposed beneath the building to house parking and services.

“Castle Hill is undergoing a significant transformation, evolving from a traditionally low-rise suburban centre into a true metropolitan destination anchored by the Sydney Metro Northwest," the Architectural Design Report prepared by Studio SC noted.

The majority of apartments (194) will be two-bedrooms. 90 one-bedroom apartments are planned, 83 three-beds, and four four-bedroom apartments.

Studio SC’s design adopts a podium-and-tower composition, with warm-toned masonry at the lower levels intended to anchor the building within its streetscape context.

"At the podium, the architecture is anchored through solid brickwork in warm, earthy tones, reflecting the local sandstone formations and the natural colour palette of the surrounding hills," Studio SC added.

Above, the tower transitions to a lighter glass expression, articulated with fins and tonal variation to reduce visual bulk and respond to changing light conditions.

Urban Property Group is one of Sydney's most active developers. They have projects currently under construction in Little Bay, Penrith, and Macquarie Park, with future projects earmarked for Wollongong.

Castle Hill has been one of the most popular suburbs for development across Sydney in the last five years, as developers scramble for land around the newly extended Sydney Metro.&nbsp;

Ellipse launches Lily Lane, stage two of Carrington Place

Exeter garden estate sold for the first time in over two decades

The businessman, commentator and former Federal Opposition leader, John Hewson has finally found a buyer for his Southern Highlands listing, Invergowrie.
It was first listed 10 years ago at $11 million.
His Tudor-style Exeter estate was most recently relisted through Mick Maloney, the longstanding local Richardson &amp; Wrench agent, with reduced $6.2 million hopes.
The trophy estate was built in the 1930s for the BHP industrialist Sir Cecil Hoskins, with an extensive 2009 refurbishment to the seven bedroom house that comes with library, ballroom, studies and billiard room.
The nine hectare grounds have Paul Sorensen gardens with tennis court, bocce pit, swimming pool, croquet lawn, orchard, vegetable gardens, a Japanese garden with waterfall, aviary and three guest houses.
Designed by architect Geoffrey Loveridge, Invergowie replaced Headlands, which had been owned by the Yates seed family.
Before that the Badgery family had what remains the landmark feature of the village of Exeter.
Hewson and his wife, Jessica Wilson had revised their price hopes down over the years it was on the market.
They married in the ballroom in 2007.
The former Reserve Bank economist and former member for the blue ribbon seat of Wentworth previously owned another Tudor-style Southern Highlands property, Redlands.
Hewson bought Redlands in 1977 for $106,000 and sold in 1985 for $380,000.

Set amid 3,080 sqm of gardens, <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-house-nsw-exeter-124030082" target="_blank">the architect designed brick home</a> was marketed as offering "The Good Life" - a reference to his recent book.
Highlands Property agent Sarah Wotton had a price guide of $1.05 million which was paid by a Sydney buyer for the three bedroom house with home office and two verandah rooms..
Mackay paid $450,000 in 2008 with wife, Sheila.

Banjo’s Run, the boutique winery at Exeter in the Southern Highlands, has been listed by Bill and Robyn Hall.
The couple have been their since 2009 following Bill's retirement after 40 years in real estate in Sydney's eastern suburbs.
They bought and rejuvenated an old vineyard then putting out their own wine label.
Banjo’s Run, which recently featured in the Gourmet Traveller magazine, has been listed by Deborah Cullen and Richard Sholl of Colliers Lifestyle Estates with offers due by September 30.
The vineyard comes with Bordeaux style, biodynamic cool climate wines from the 100 acre Sallys Corner Road property. 
“I had a rural upbringing and I wanted to reconnect with that feeling of living in the relaxed countryside but still close enough to the city and the local town” he said. 
 The vineyard is leased out so there is little work for Bill and his family. 
“In the last 18 months we’ve leased the vineyard out and they do all the work - we get to simply sit back and enjoy the fruits of their labour,” he says, with a grin. 
As part of the lease agreement, he receives 64 cases of wine annually. 
“This property is ideal for someone who would like to come down for the weekend but also receive an income stream/ and/or some pretty amazing wine” he said. 
Income is also possible from its three bed and breakfast modules.
The property’s dam contains substantial numbers of trout.

The purchase comes after the couple sold their stylish Woollahra home for a change of lifestyle, and whispered to be buying an $880,000 bolthole in the Rex at Kings Cross.
Their new purchase, a stark contrast from their city life, is at Exeter.

The rural retreat, just a hour from Sydney, was offloaded by its Monaco-based vendor, Chris Kyriakou, the longtime mining magnate known as “The Golden Greek” who first made headlines in the financial page gossip columns back in the highflying late 1980s. 
His last big splash was when the couple celebrated their birthdays together with a six-day, $1 million party on Christina Onassis’s yacht off Monaco - his 60th and her 40th some six years ago.
Nowadays there's a caveat on the property title that suggest it possibly sits among the contested matrimonial assets following his four year separation from his second wife, the onetime film producer Phoebe Baker. Eleuthera, Exeter sold after $1.5 million reduction

Mist, the Exeter trophy home of the corporate lawyer and mining executive Chris Hagan, has been sold, in a sale that highlights unseasonal NSW Southern Highlands activity. 
No price reveal, but it was listed with overly ambitious $2.7 million plus hopes. 
The eight hectare estate with four bedroom, three bathroom house at 169 Ringwood Road had been listed through McGrath agent Anne Stone in conjunction with Drew Lindsay of Drew Lindsay.
The house was built in 2013.
