The new development, dubbed&nbsp;<a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/glenelg-residences-2462-2472-gold-coast-highway-mermaid-beach-qld-4218">Glenelg Residences</a>, has been designed by BDA Architecture and&nbsp;will have just under 100 apartments across an 11-storey building&nbsp;at 2462–2472 Gold Coast Highway, on the corner of Glenelg Avenue just under 300m from the future Mermaid Beach Light Rail stop.

The apartments, a mix of two- and three-bedrooms, will sit above a retail-focused ground plane and under extensive rooftop resident amenities.

BDA said in its planning submission that the project is intended to support the area’s transition toward higher-density, mixed-use living. “This project offers the opportunity to generate appropriate higher-intensity development within the future Light Rail corridor of <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developments/mermaid-beach-qld-4218">Mermaid Beach</a>,” the submission noted.

At ground level, Glenelg Residences will include eight retail tenancies designed to activate the street frontage, complemented by a basement bar offering an additional hospitality element. Ray White Rural, which suggested Haranel was ideal for either cattle grazing or fattening secured the price at auction last Friday.
The purchaser was described as a professional gentleman based in Brisbane.
The retiring owners are relocating for family reasons.
Jez McNamara and Barry Quinn from Ray White Rural Brisbane and Vicki Pain from Ray White Rural Dayboro marketed and sold the property which attracted over 100 enquiries during the four week campaign.
It spans 67 hectares of lush pastures able to accomodate more than 80 breeders plus calves year-round.
Mount Mee is 1600 metres above sea level, with its climate of cool clean air and high rainfall suitable for cattle farming.
The locality was almost all dairy country decades ago, but now only a few remain as the cattle industry has taken over.
Ray White Rural agents Barry Quinn and Jez McNamara who suggested Haranel is ideal for either cattle grazing or fattening secured the price at auction last Friday.
Currently the property runs the Droughtmaster breed, a breed conceived in response to the need in the Australian Tropics for tick resistance.
The breed use the environment and the pastures in the most efficient manner to give higher weight gains and fertility.
Its not a well know breed as Droughtmasters make up just five percent of registered cattle across the country.
Late last year Haranel sold its six month old Droughtmaster calves for $725 at Woodford sales.
There's steel cattle yards and a spring fed permanent creek that runs through the property which takes its name from Hebrew for Mountain of God.
A six bay shed incorporates a two storey, two bedroom, fully self-contained mangers quarters.
Quinn and McNamara have set a July 6 auction date.

Droughtmaster cattle farm, Haranel at Mount Mee, sold

Haranel, a fully operating cattle farm on Mount Mee on Queensland's Sunshine Coast hinterland, has been listed for sale.
It spans 67 hectares of lush pastures able to accomodate more than 80 breeders plus calves year-round.
Mount Mee is 1600 metres above sea level, with its climate of cool clean air and high rainfall suitable for cattle farming.
The locality was almost all dairy country decades ago, but now only a few remain as the cattle industry has taken over.
Ray White Rural agents Barry Quinn and Jez McNamara suggest Haranel is ideal for either cattle grazing or fattening.
Currently the property runs the Droughtmaster breed, a breed conceived in response to the need in the Australian Tropics for tick resistance.
The breed use the environment and the pastures in the most efficient manner to give higher weight gains and fertility.
Its not a well know breed as Droughtmasters make up just five percent of registered cattle across the country.
Late last year Haranel sold its six month old Droughtmaster calves for $725 at Woodford sales.
There's steel cattle yards and a spring fed permanent creek that runs through the property which takes its name from Hebrew for Mountain of God.
A six bay shed incorporates a two storey, two bedroom, fully self-contained mangers quarters.
Quinn and McNamara have set a July 6 auction date.

Mount Mee cattle farm Haranel listed for sale

Deloraine, a 600 hectare cattle farm at 500 Old Hume Highway, Beveridge has sold for about $200 million.
The cattle farm on Melbourne’s northern fringe was bought by a Melbourne-based developer.
The <a href="https://www.realcommercial.com.au/property-land+development-vic-beveridge-502743854" target="_blank">500 Old Hume Highway</a> holding is likely to be turned into about 6000 residential blocks.
Beveridge, 42 kilometres north of the city, is famed for being bushranger Ned Kelly’s first home town.
It sold through Biggin &amp; Scott Land agent Frank Nagle.
It was sold by members of the Laffan family, which had run cattle in the area for about 100 years.
The Laffans reportedly bought the property in 1964 for less than £90,000.

Ned Kelly's father Red built their first home in Beveridge in 1859.

The Laffan family has owned Deloraine for 54 years.
The Herald Sun reported the buyer of the site was Akron Property Group, which is behind another housing development in the western suburb of Rockbank and two apartment towers in the Melbourne CBD.
The site is next to Stockland’s 11,000-block Cloverton housing development and near MAB Corp and Gibson Property Group’s $8 billion Merrifield mixed-use estate in Mickleham.

Beveridge cattle farm sells for $200 million

ASIC has obtained orders from the Supreme Court of Queensland appointing provisional liquidators to three companies due to concerns about a herd of approximately 261 head of cattle abandoned by Nangus Holdings Pty Ltd (previously Nant Angus Holdings Pty Ltd) management.
Nant Angus offered an investment in cattle to retail investors.
As part of the investment arrangement, Nant Angus was to lease the herds back from the investor for a period of five years from the date of purchase and then buy them back from the investor at an agreed price.
Investors were told that during the lease period they would be paid an annual interest rate of 9.95 per cent on their investment capital.
Investors were introduced to this investment through full page advertisements taken out in the Australian Financial Review newspaper by Nant Angus.
ASIC has obtained orders from the Supreme Court of Queensland appointing Mr Richard Hughes and Mr David Orr of Deloitte as provisional liquidators to three companies:

<li>Nangus Holdings Group Pty Ltd</li>
<li>Nangus Holdings Pty Ltd</li>
<li>Nangus Grazing Company Pty Ltd</li>
</ol>
ASIC applied for and obtained these orders as part of an ongoing investigation into the Nangus Group of companies.
The orders were sought by ASIC due to concerns about the solvency and lack of management of the companies.
Keith Batt and Margaret Letizia, the individuals responsible for the creation and management of the companies, are now both personally bankrupt, disqualifying them from managing a corporation.
The orders require the provisional liquidators to provide a detailed report to the Court regarding the financial position and management of each company so the Court can consider whether to make final orders to wind the companies up.
The couple's Hamilton house has recently been listed for sale by the receivers.

Comprising 91 hectares, the property is divided into 41 two hectare paddocks, with a central laneway and water to all from a spring fed dam.
It currently milks up to 180 cows and features a hay shed and machinery shed.
The main homestead is a <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-lifestyle-vic-drouin+south-7651047" target="_blank">fully renovated three bedroom home</a> with a brand new kitchen and ensuite.
It was sold by Harcourts agent John Rowe after having initial $2.3 million hopes when first listed in 2014.

Drouin dairy farm sells for $2.1 million

Wanaka, one of the largest freehold high country stations, has been listed for sale.
The 6639 hectare Lake McKay Station is one of the Southern Lakes' most prominent properties.
It comprises a diverse outlook of mountainous terrain, natural gorges, stream and premium pastureland, as well as views over Wanaka and Mount Aspiring.
The luxury homestead was designed by Dunedin architect Mason &amp; Wales and has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a games room and a boot room.
There's also a three-bedroom manager's residence, two bedroom staff quarters, a modern woodshed, large implement shed and sheep and cattle yards.

It's being sold by prominent Auckland-based businessman Colin Harvey and his wife Mary.
They purchased the farm in 2008 and have overseen the installation of a $2 million irrigation system, as well as the addition of a 135 hectare parcel of land.
They have ran it as a successful sheep and cattle station.
“It’s been an amazing journey in Wanaka,” Colin says. They are moving to spend more time with family and focus on business interest in Auckland.
New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty sales associate Matt Finnigan says the property’s proximity to the Wanaka township, together with its diverse farming and recreational attributes, make for an attractive opportunity. 
“Lake McKay Station is situated in a dress-circle position overlooking both Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea,” he says.
“The current owners have invested heavily in developing its infrastructure and irrigation, therefore the property has a solid farming backbone.
"It’s also completely accessible by vehicle, which is rare in a high country farm of this scale, and the views from all corners are extraordinary.”

Wanaka's Lake McKay Station in New Zealand listed

Gina Rinehart's desire to secure Australia's largest landholder, cattle company S.Kidman &amp; Co with a Chinese investor, is being challenged.
The rival bid has been confirmed from wealthiest graziers including BRW Richlisters Tom and Pat Brinkworth and Sterling Buntine.
The Kidman's preferred bid, at $365 million, comes via Australian Outback Beef (AOB), a consortium two thirds controlled by mining magnate Gina Rinehart, and a Chinese business partner, Shanghai CRED.
Their bid does not include Anna Creek, a property in South Australia that raised national security concerns when Chinese interests tried to buy the Kidman properties last year.
BBHO has since emerged, comprising four of the nation's wealthiest outback cattle and transport families offering $385 million, for all the properties including Anna Creek.
The local bid would avoid scrutiny by Australia's Foreign Investment Review Board given BBHO's directors, Viv Oldfield, Tom Brinkworth, Sterling Buntine and Malcolm Harris, represent some of the most prominent names in the outback.
The bid has not yet been received, but once it is, AOB has the right to match the offer.
AOB and Kidman have an agreement that triggers a $3.8 million break fee if either party walks away.
A finalised sale is expected early next year. 
Alice Springs businessman Viv Oldfield is most well known as a race horse trainer.
The 58 year old runs cattle on pastoral land in the Northern Territory and South Australia, and has partnered with a fellow pastoralist to sell cattle to China.
East of Alice Spring, Mr Oldfield runs cattle across the jointly managed properties Andado Station, Horseshoe Bend and New Crown.
He owns an outback transport company, Tanami Transport, of which S Kidman and Co is client.
The South Australian pastoralist Tom Brinkworth owns more than 100 properties spread across more than 400,000 hectares 
Sterling Buntine owns Alroy Downs Station and Dalmore Downs, along with Lissadell, Bedford Downs and Lansdowne stations in the Kimberley in Western Australia.
Malcolm Harris and his family recently gained approval to apply for a freehold lease on WA's Gogo Station at Fitzroy Crossing.
The family owns Benmarra Station in the Northern Territory, and Rockhampton Downs, near Tennant Creek.
