Melbourne developer Spacious Group has completed Voyage Altona, one of the closest new apartment developments to Altona Beach.

Off the plan purchasers have started moving into the 49-apartment project on Pier Street, with the remaining move-in-ready one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments starting from just over $500,000.

Gold Coast City Council has approved Lýon Residences, a 32-level tower that will deliver 178 two and three-bedroom apartments across a prominent corner site at 8-10 Acacia Avenue and 25-27 Oak Avenue.

The approval comes as developers continue to invest in premium lifestyle-driven apartment projects on the Gold Coast, where owner occupiers are increasingly prioritising amenity as much as apartment size and location.

Homecorp Founder and CEO Ron Bakir said Budds Beach provided the ideal location for the company's latest luxury apartment project.

Iwan Sunito's vision for a landmark mixed-use precinct in Sydney's Inner West has taken a major step forward, with approval granted for the $1.9 billion Five Dock development first unveiled earlier this year.

The approved scheme by <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/one-global-capital">One Global Capital</a> will deliver an 80,500 sqm mixed-use precinct comprising 840 apartments, integrated hotel accommodation, commercial and retail space, alongside publicly accessible open space designed to create a new destination for the growing suburb.

"This is a significant milestone for One Global Capital and for the future of housing delivery in Sydney," Sunito said.

"The Housing Delivery Authority was established to identify major housing projects capable of delivering meaningful supply more efficiently, and we are delighted that Spencer Street has been recognised as one of those projects.”

He said the declaration reflected the rapid progress achieved since acquiring control of the site.

"In less than seven months we have progressed from taking control of the site to securing entry into one of the NSW Government's most important planning pathways. The development has evolved since its initial announcement, with the approved plans increasing the residential component from the originally proposed 750 apartments to 840 homes while retaining the project's focus on creating an integrated neighbourhood rather than a standalone residential development.

The approval comes as Five Dock continues its transformation ahead of the opening of the Sydney Metro West line, with the new Five Dock station set to significantly improve connections between the Inner West, Parramatta and the Sydney CBD.&nbsp;

Sydney’s eastern suburbs are set to stay strong, especially in the first half of the year with a strong but slower second half of 2017, according to HTW's February 2017 update.
The valuation firm says the market has previously remained strong due to limited stock, high demand and buyer confidence. These factors will continue to support the market through to the end of the year.
Detached houses around $1.5 million to $3 million and units up to $3 million are predicted to have a slower growth than previous years. The prestige markets (over $3 million) along the beachside and centrally located suburbs are set to have a slightly higher growth than previous years with stronger buyer confidence.
The market saw strong growth in 2016 for North Bondi which had 22.4% growth and Paddington with 16% growth, according to pricefinder.com.au. HTW expect that these areas will continue to perform well this year in the over $3 million price point.
As the eastern suburbs have had a strong three years of growth recently, there does not appear to be any suburb with an affordable price point.
"Worth watching are Potts Points and Bondi Junction.
"Potts Point has had a decline in the entertainment precinct which has made this area more appealing to young professionals.
"As the nightclubs and night time entertainment have declined, it has made this area a quieter and slower paced neighborhood."
It noted Bondi Junction is still in high demand for young families and professional couples as the suburb is in close proximity to Westfield Bondi, Bondi train station and local amenities and high growth is still predicted.

They've paid $3.65 million for the garden apartment in the French Riviera inspired St Neots building.
Set back from the street, the refurbished apartment occupies the entire ground floor and is surrounded by private landscaped gardens and a large loggia for alfresco dining.
It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a series of interconnecting lounge, dining and family areas.
LJ Hooker Double Bay agents Bill Malouf and Sophie Beaumont secured the sale after 17 days on the market. It had recently been a $2000 a week rental.

It fetched $5.75 million having been listed with $6.5 million hopes.
The 1880s Victoria Street terrace house was last sold back in 1985 when the rare book dealers Anne McCormick and Derek McDonnell paid $438,000.
That was around a decade after the battle for the preservation of the delightful street was fought against developers.

Historic Hordern House, Potts Point sold

The 2003 Block contestants Gavin Atkins and Warren Sonin, or 'Gav and Waz', have sold their Potts Point apartment.
The designer boys spent $2,325,000 only last November on the<a href="https://www.bresicwhitney.com.au/buy/3-kings-cross-road-darlinghurst-7558"> two bedroom Altair apartment</a> of former ABC TV director Paddy Conroy.
They redesigned the 16th floor unit and sold off-market last week.
Their Potts Point property foray came after they sold Charltons, their Byron Bay hinterland estate, for $3 million in 2013. Word is they are now again heading back to nature.
No clues yet but they've been up at Megalong Valley, though their Jack Russel dog, Charlie, has been spotted back at Byron Bay.

Gav and Waz sell Potts Point apartment

Michael and Judy McMahon, from the iconic Rose Bay restaurant Catalina's, have decided to depart Potts Point after a little more than a year in the neighbourhood.
They are apparently off to Double Bay.
<a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/property-apartment-nsw-potts+point-123550046" target="_blank">Their Potts Point apartment</a> with views out towards the Opera House has been listed for sale.
After 15 years living opposite their harbourfront restraurant, they bought off the plan through Richardson &amp; Wrench agent Andrew Hoggett, paying $2.6 million in 2013, then moving in on its mid-year 2015 settlement. 
Some 19 of the original 22 buyers still remain on the Wylde Street complex. The most recent sale was when the international jeweller Tony White sold for $3.35 million to his tenant, the airline industry executive Lisa Brock. White had paid $2.3 million off the plan.
Michael and Judy both began their careers with the late Len Evans, working at the legendary Bulletin Place. In 1978, they made the move to Gay and Tony Bilson's Berowra Waters Inn, Michael as floor manager and Judy as their first female waitress. 
The McMahon's own harbourfront restaurant has been running at Rose Bay now 22 years, with their children James and Kate involved.
