Melbourne developer Spacious Group has completed Voyage Altona, one of the closest new apartment developments to Altona Beach.

Off the plan purchasers have started moving into the 49-apartment project on Pier Street, with the remaining move-in-ready one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments starting from just over $500,000.

Display apartments have now been fitted out, allowing prospective buyers to inspect the completed residences by appointment.

Gold Coast City Council has approved Lýon Residences, a 32-level tower that will deliver 178 two and three-bedroom apartments across a prominent corner site at 8-10 Acacia Avenue and 25-27 Oak Avenue.

The approval comes as developers continue to invest in premium lifestyle-driven apartment projects on the Gold Coast, where owner occupiers are increasingly prioritising amenity as much as apartment size and location.

Homecorp Founder and CEO Ron Bakir said Budds Beach provided the ideal location for the company's latest luxury apartment project.

The approved scheme by <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/one-global-capital">One Global Capital</a> will deliver an 80,500 sqm mixed-use precinct comprising 840 apartments, integrated hotel accommodation, commercial and retail space, alongside publicly accessible open space designed to create a new destination for the growing suburb.

"This is a significant milestone for One Global Capital and for the future of housing delivery in Sydney," Sunito said.

"The Housing Delivery Authority was established to identify major housing projects capable of delivering meaningful supply more efficiently, and we are delighted that Spencer Street has been recognised as one of those projects.”

He said the declaration reflected the rapid progress achieved since acquiring control of the site.

"In less than seven months we have progressed from taking control of the site to securing entry into one of the NSW Government's most important planning pathways. Australian model, singer and actor Erika Heynatz can attest, like many Sydney landlords, knows that there's been little rental price growth in investment properties over recent years.
The former Home and Away star quickly found a tenant last month for her former Potts Point bolthole apartment but at $495 a week, it was just $30 more than its 2011 initial asking rental.

The couple now reside in Collaroy, the iconic Shipmates building on the Northern Beaches peninsula which has been popular spot for the Home and Away cast members to drop anchor.
Heynatz was only briefly on Home and Away in 2015, playing school teacher Charlotte King whose character was murdered six months later by Josh Barrett, played by Jackson Gallagher.

Bidding opened at $120,000 for the 15.8 square metre space in The Chimes apartment block at 101/45-53 Macleay Street.

The sale to a local resident from further down the street through Di Jones agent Jeremy Brink equated to $14,000 per square metre.
It was up on the most recent Laing Real Estate sale of a 16sqm block in February around the corner on Challis Avenue which at $190,000 equated to $12,666 per square metre. 
“The shifting market isn’t having an impact on car space prices,” Di Jones agent Jeremy Brink told The Sunday Telegraph.

It's the long time home of veteran lawyer Ezekiel Solomon, who bought the Victoria Street home for $75,000 in 1977, in the midst of the strip's heritage battle.
Solomon has recently settled on a $4.55 million, three bedroom apartment in the Cosmopolitan complex in Double Bay.

International music sensation Connie Mitchell has quickly cashed in her one bedroom Potts Point investment apartment accepting a $975,000 pre-auction offer.
The Sneaky Sound System singer paid $670,000 off the plan for <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-apartment-nsw-potts+point-124964258" target="_blank">fifth floor apartment</a> in the historic Hampton in 2011 following the hotel's refurbishment.
Its sale price through McGrath selling agent Simon Exleton, who had an initial $850,000 price guidance, reflected a nice 7 percent annual price growth.
It had been a $650 a week rental for the past few years to the same tenant, showing a 3.5 percent yield.
Mitchell sold as she and husband, fellow Sneaky musician 'Black' Angus McDonald, have eyes on new digs in Mykonos, an island of Greece, where they relocated their popular Sneaky Sundays dance sessions.
They've been playing to a few thousand people Sunday nights on the beach at Scorpios given the couple spend an annual three month residency on the Greek island during the European summer.
The couple wed in Ibiza in 2015 and had their first child, Iggy Ajax McDonald, in August last year.
Of course Sneaky Sundays had previously been a long standing night at nearby Hugo's bar on Bayswater Road for 10 years, however the lockout laws around the area ended the night, and inevitably Hugo's bar.
Mitchell has spoken out against the lockout laws, but she is the beneficiary now as neighbourhood prices have soared.
The strip has seen a shift in its demographics to professionals, prompting Exleton to market the over-sized one bedroom apartment as coming with "New York style vistas offers East Village - Manhattan feel." 
Angus also owned in the Hampton however sold for $725,000 in 2014, at just $8000 more than his off the plan purchase price.
Those proceeds went towards a second floor recording studio and swimming pool at their home in Bondi, which they intend keeping. 
In 1996, when she was just 18 years old, Mitchell was a founding member of Primary, an Australian techno band.
She was briefly a vocalist for Machine Gun Fellatio before making her big break in 2004 when she joined Sneaky Sound System.
Angus McDonald and Daimon Downey asked Mitchell to become their singer when she was playing guitar with a friend in a park.
"I thought they were a bit dodgy... You know, two guys coming up to you, excited, jumping around a bit, saying 'Come to our studio'", she said.
Their breakthrough single came in 2006 with I Love It, which peaked a number 24 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
It was in the top 100 for a then record 73 weeks by January 2008.
Mitchell spent a few weeks in 2007 recording vocals for US rapper Kanye West in LA featuring on four tracks on his album, Graduation.
With Sneaky Sound System, Mitchell supported Robbie Williams and Scissor Sisters.
Mitchell has since appeared on albums by West, Snoop Dogg and Rick Ross.
They play annually at a New Year's Day party at Icebergs.

Sneaky Sound System's Connie Mitchell sells Potts Point investment

International music sensation Connie Mitchell is cashing in on her Potts Point investment apartment.
The Sneaky Sound System singer paid $670,000 off the plan for fifth floor apartment in the historic Hampton in 2010.
It was the first pick of apartments that emerged following the hotel's refurbishment.
The over-sized one bedroom apartment with New York style vistas offers East Village - Manhattan feel in the heart of Potts Point, according to McGrath Edgecliff listing agent Simon Exleton.
He has a price guidance of $850,000 for its April 4 auction date.
It had been a $650 a week rental for the past few years to the same tenant, showing a five percent yield.
Mitchell is selling up as she has eyes on new digs in Mykonos, an island of Greece, where she and husband, fellow Sneaky musician 'Black' Angus McDonald, relocated their hugely popular Sneaky Sundays.
They've been playing to a few thousand people every Sunday night on the beach at Scorpios.
The couple spend an annual three month residency on the Greek island during the European summer and are looking for a holiday home there.
Of course Sneaky Sundays had previously been a long standing night at nearby Hugo's bar for 10 years, however the lockout laws around the area ended the night, and inevitably Hugo's bar.
Mitchell has spoken out against the lockout laws, suggesting the city was 'a bit of a joke'.
But she may be the beneficiary now however, as neighbourhood prices have soared since the lockout laws were established and as the strip sees a shift in its demographics to professionals.
Angus also bought off the plan in the Hampton however sold for $725,000 in 2014.
The proceeds went to adding a second floor recording studio and swimming pool to their home in Bondi, which they intend on hanging on to. 
In 1996, when she was just 18 years old, Mitchell was a founding member of Primary, an Australian techno band.
She was briefly a vocalist for Machine Gun Fellatio before making her big break in 2004 when she joined Sneaky Sound System.
Angus McDonald and Daimon Downey asked Mitchell to become their singer when she was playing guitar with a friend in a park.
"I thought they were a bit dodgy... You know, two guys coming up to you, excited, jumping around a bit, saying 'Come to our studio'", she said.
Their breakthrough single came in 2006 with I Love It, which peaked a number 24 on the ARIA Singles Chart.
It was in the top 100 for a then record 73 weeks by January 2008.
Mitchell spent a few weeks in 2007 recording vocals for US rapper Kanye West in LA featuring on four tracks on his album, Graduation.
With Sneaky Sound System, Mitchell supported Robbie Williams and Scissor Sisters.
Mitchell has since appeared on albums by West, Snoop Dogg and Rick Ross.
They play annually at a New Year's Day party at Icebergs.
The couple wed in Ibiza in 2015 and had their first child, Iggy Ajax McDonald, in August last year.

Singer Connie Mitchell cashing in on Potts Point investment

Universal Studios senior vice president of human resources Janine Ashton has finally sold her Potts Point sub-penthouse, having initially listed the apartment in 2010.
She's scored $4.25 million for the <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-apartment-nsw-potts+point-120417813" target="_blank">sub-penthouse in the Pomeroy</a> building. It was bought by Future Fund founding board member Susan Doyle, who sold in Mosman before Christmas.
Ashton paid $2.24 million for the two bedroom apartment in 2004.
The apartment with New York inspired designer aspects offers north-easterly views over Sydney Harbour from its wrap around balcony and alfresco terrace.

Universal Music exec Janine Ashton sells in Potts Point after six years
