The new <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/yarraville-green-42-stephen-street-yarraville-vic-3013">Yarraville Green</a> development in Melbourne's inner west is showing that landscaping can be just as influential as architecture, with buyers responding strongly to the garden-first approach adopted from the outset by developer Excelon Projects and the project's design team.

The enormity of delivering a true skyscraper in Australia's new development market is often overlooked.

It has taken the best part of a decade since plans for Chevron One were first unveiled, but the 41-storey tower is now complete, with residents collecting their keys and moving into what has become one of the Gold Coast's most recognisable new landmarks.

Rising 127 metres above Chevron Island, Chevron One stands almost twice as high as any other building on the island. Its scale places it alongside the trio of towers at Jewel, arguably the last truly significant addition to the central Gold Coast skyline when they were completed around six years ago.

While there are several developments underway around a similar height to Chevron One, they are more concentrated within clusters of the highest towers in the city. The fact Chevron One sits within a developing precinct, looking back at the other high-rise developments in Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach, makes it a different proposition altogether. The tower has been the talk of the town for years, says Ray White Projects Gold Coast agent Caitlin Rosenboom, who is selling the remaining apartments.

"People have been watching Chevron One go up for years," Rosenboom says, adding that many prospective buyers have been surprised by the scale of the views once they step inside.

The long time Mosman home of the late historian, theologian and author Barbara Thiering has been put up for auction.
Barbara and her then husband Barry bought the three Wyong Road bedroom home in 1973 when they paid $62,500.

Known as "that radical Australian theologian woman" during her time at the University of Sydney in the 1970's, Thiering wrote Jesus the Man in 1992 which became an international best seller.
The book was a radical challenge to the established orthodoxy about historical Christianity and suggested Jesus was not of virgin birth, nor did he die on the cross.
She followed Jesus the Man with Jesus and the Riddle (1993), Jesus of the Apocalypse (1995) and THE BOOK THAT JESUS WROTE (1998).
The property has been listed by Nic Yates and Kingsley Yates of Ray White Lower North Shore and goes to auction April 30 with $2.4 million hopes. 
She was born Barbara Houlsby, in Sydney in 1930, the daughter of Jack Houlsby, an accountant, who, having become disillusioned with capitalism during the Great Depression, settled onto a small farm, called Woodlands, at Marsfield, an early exercise in self-sufficiency and alternate lifestyle, in an atmosphere of liberal intellectualism

The Ray White group will host its first live online auction in Sydney when an inner city apartment in The Rocks goes to April 8 auction.
The agency has been operating live online auctions since 2014 in Queensland, the only real estate network to currently offer this service to buyers and sellers.
Since allowing people to log on and participate in a live auction from anywhere in the world, auctions have seen participants as far as Europe, the Middle East, China and the United States.
Ray White joint-chairman Brian White said the tool has proven to be an "extremely effective way to sell property."
What's billed as Sydney's first true live online auction is a one bedroom apartment at <a href="https://www.raywhite.com/nsw/sydney/1437087/?lang=en" target="_blank">2102 Quay West Gloucester Street</a>, with $700,000 plus hopes through Ray White Sydney CBD agent Michael Lowdon. Sydney's first test run dates back nearly two decades ago.
The first online auction trial was held in 1998 when McGrath Estate Agents offered a Surry Hills terrace. 
There was one online bidder but the property sold for $455,000 to an auction attendee.
Brian White said over 17,000 viewers haved watched the auctions online.
The Rocks property will be auctioned in Ray White's in-room auction room on April 8.

Melbourne's home auction market paused last weekend for the Labour Day long weekend holiday, however Dr Wilson said next weekend is set to host a record-breaking Super Saturday of autumn auctions.
Around 1600 Melbourne homes are scheduled to go under the hammer over the pre-Easter Super Saturday, an-time record for an autumn offering with the previous record 1341 set on autumn Super Saturday last year.
"This will provide the acid test for what has been a remarkably consistent and robust Melbourne auction market so far this year," he said.

After the record breaking sale of Darling House last week, the Government Property NSW have listed a further 12 properties in Millers Point.
Being sold on behalf of the Department of Family and Community Services, the houses include a four bedroom Victorian style terrace on Kent Street and a former boarding house on Fort Street.
The owners of the heritage listed properties have a responsibility to undertake some sort of maintenance or restoration of their newly acquired properties in accordance with the Conversation Management Plans (CMP's).
Each owner will sign a contract which will highlight their development responsibilities. 
The proceeds from the Millers Point sales are being reinvested into 1,500 new social housing dwellings across New South Wales with 100 already completed.
The biggest sale since the start of the sell off came last Thursday when Darling House secured $7.7 million, $1.7 million over its auction guide.
The sale took the total of sales to over $120 million.
The below properties are the new batch and will be marketed by McGrath Estate Agents and will be auctioned March 30. 
44 Kent Street – a four-bedroom two storey terrace in mid-Victorian style with cantilevered balcony and decorative iron balustrade (above).
53 Kent Street – a three-bedroom three storey residence, one of a pair of Georgian style terraces with added Victorian-era cantilevered balcony.
79 Kent Street – formerly three one-bedroom apartments and two studios, forming the southernmost portion of Winsbury Terrace.
83 Kent Street – a three-bedroom terrace with an Italianate style mid-Victorian front wing.
15, 21, 25 &amp; 29 Windmill Street – three-bedroom dwellings built in 1907–1908 in the Arts and Crafts style. These properties have state significance as examples of early twentieth century public housing developed by the NSW Government Architect’s Branch.
52 &amp; 54 Argyle Place – part of a row known as Undercliff Terrace, these properties were built in 1843 for whaling captain George Grimes and are one of the earliest terrace groups surviving in Sydney.
17 Lower Fort Street – a three to four bedroom terrace, formerly a boarding house, and part of the Milton Terrace.
19 Lower Fort Street - formerly four studio apartments, also part of the Milton Terrace, built in the Victorian Classical style.
