Iris Capital create construction arm to build Victoria & Albert Broadbeach apartments

High-end developer <a href="/developers/orchard-piper">Orchard Piper</a> has appointed Cobild to construct their mixed-use apartment and office building Toorak Village, after securing a number of sales at the premium project on the corner of Mathoura and Toorak Road.

The $120 million development, designed by Kerry Hill Architects, has already seen over $60 million in office and apartment sales.

Works have commenced on site at&nbsp;109 Mathoura Road and 420-426 Toorak Road, where the 400 sqm penthouse has already sold for $12.5 million.

Kay &amp; Burton Director Andrew Sahhar said the project is receiving continued interest with Stonnington locals who are looking to secure a coveted and rare opportunity on one of the most recognisable corners of the Village.

“In a market plagued with scarcity, there are limited offerings for buyers in the area, with a very restricted supply outlook," Sahhar says.

"We’re seeing interest from a range of buyers, who have become attracted to the revitalisation of the Village, which is being restored into an exciting high street once again thanks to the emergence of quality nearby development and new A-grade retail and hospitality outlets."

Toorak Village comprises just nine apartments, all with private lobbies, a resident gym, and a concierge. Each apartments has a minimum three bedrooms and three bathrooms, as well as multiple living spaces. There's just two apartments per floor.

In just seven weeks, 60 per cent of the project’s limited three-floor office spaces have also been sold by Colliers, with the latest sale, a 126m2 suite, fetching $2.3 million; setting a new city fringe and suburban record, with a record strata office building rate of $18,250 per sqm.

The commencement of construction for the Toorak Village project is occurring concurrently with the City of Stonnington’s streetscape upgrades between Wallace Avenue and Grange Road. These works are well underway, with new art projects, footpaths, greenery and lighting to be introduced to elevate the Village back to former glory.

Alongside streetscape upgrades, the project adds to the recently completed St Germain building, located up the road at 495-505 Toorak Rd, which features a Coles Local, Cecconi’s and boutique retail offerings below a premium office building.

Sydney-based developer Haitchin Group has officially commenced construction on the residential part of their Norwest mixed-use development, Infinity Park.

Infinity Park comprises three distinct residential buildings which will home 290 apartments.

The tallest tower, Marquee, at 25 levels, is accompanied by two five-level, low-rise buildings Alpha and Omega. Alpha and Omega will offer the most premium two and three-bedroom apartments in the precinct.

The three buildings are expected to complete half way through 2025. Construction company CJCA is handling the build.

Sydney developer Sammut Group has announced the appointment of multi-award-winning, iCIRT-rated construction firm Decode to deliver VUE, their mixed-use project in the heart of Cronulla.

VUE sits on a prominent 5,225sqm site at the northern end of Cronulla Mall and is set over two eight-storey buildings, sharing a double-storey podium.

The development will include 112 apartments, 880 sqm of commercial space and 3000 sqm of retail space including Harris Farm Markets – the first for Southern Sydney.

Sammut Group Chief Executive Officer Allen Sammut says the decision to partner with Decode for the construction of VUE was based on its outstanding reputation and commitment to delivery.

“The appointment of Decode as our building partner for VUE is a significant milestone for this landmark development, particularly as we’re about to commence demolition on site,” Sammut says.

OFSC and ISO accredited, Decode was also one of the first 20 businesses to receive a Gold Star iCIRT rating in 2022. Decode Founder and Chairman Sam El Rihani says his team is excited to partner with Sammut Group to add a new star to the heart of Cronulla with this iconic project.&nbsp;

Designed by PBD Architects with interiors by Mim Design, VUE apartments feature natural material and Sammut Group’s signature sculptural forms, in keeping with the coastal nature of the location.

Residents of the new apartments will have access to resort-style facilities including a north-facing pool, a large communal terrace with a pavilion, poolside day beds, sauna and open-air gym complete with breakout spaces for a range of activities.

Sammut Group Chief Financial Officer Julian Sammut says this announcement comes at a time when demonstration of delivery is crucial.

“With our proven track record delivering high-quality developments in Cronulla, there is strong confidence in the Sammut Group product. With the appointment of Decode and demolition soon underway, we expect to see strong interest in VUE.”

All one-bedroom apartments have now sold, with a selection of two and three-bedroom apartments still available.

Sammut Group appoints Decode to deliver landmark project, VUE

ASX-listed community developer AVJennings has reached a significant milestone at its <a href="/developments/williamstown-vic-3016">Williamstown</a> community, Waterline Place.

They've topped out Merchant Apartments, their final apartment building in the 2.7-hectare masterplan. The seven-level building will be the last apartment building of its height in the City of Hobsons Bay.

Over 70 stakeholders including AVJennings CEO Phil Kearns and staff, principals from prominent architecture firm Elenberg Fraser who designed Merchant Apartments, town planners, and other key consultants and suppliers gathered atop the building to commemorate the achievement.&nbsp;

The Elenberg Fraser-designed building was designed to represent the site's industrial past. It has 127 apartments, with prices starting from $550,000.

Earlier this year two adjoining penthouses were sold to the same buyer for a combined&nbsp;$4 million plus, <a href="/news/vic/avjennings-set-williamstown-apartment-record-at-merchant-apartments-waterline-place-community">setting the Williamstown apartment record</a>.

The buyer intends on amalgamating the apartments to create a 309 sqm spread with&nbsp;dual aspect views of both Hobsons Bay and the city.

AVJennings kicked off development at Waterline Place seven years ago.&nbsp;When complete, the Waterline Place community will home over 520 residences with a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments and executive style three-bedroom townhomes – all conveniently located close to cafes, local shopping, reserves, the beach and 12km from the Melbourne CBD.&nbsp;
