No property blues for Prahran prestige as weekend auction yields $4.69 million top weekend sale

A sale price in excess of $4.5 million was tipped for a grand Prahran mansion when it went to weekend auction. 

Its RT Edgar agents Jeremy Fox and Andrew Smith sold the early Victorian house for a reported $4.69?million after auction.

It's tipped by The Australian Financial Review that the former Carlton AFL club captain Dr Andrew McKay may have bought the house after it was passed in at auction at $4.62 million. The opening bid was $4.3 million.

The James Buyer Advocates report noted there were just the two bidders.

The next priciest sale was at Wimba Avenue, Kew where three bidders competed on the house that fetched $4,105,000.

There were several prestige auctions without bidders including a Were Street Brighton house passed in on a $6.18 million vendor bid and a Montalto Avenue Toorak offering passed in on a $5.3 million vendor bid.
