Converted Erskineville church fetches $2.05 million at weekend auction

A converted Erskineville Methodist Church sold at weekend auction for $2.05 million.

The home and office space space with courtyard is positioned on the corner of Amy Lane, at 1a Macdonald Street.

More than $1.7 million was being tipped for the four bedroom, three bathroom 1890s building that was renovated in 2012.

The church sits on 275 square metres.

It was offered through Shaun Stoker and Ercan Ersan at Ray White having last traded for $247,000 in 1991.

The highest recorded house price in Erskineville over the past year has been $2.86 million for 146 Rochford Street in November 2013.

CoreLogic RP Data puts its median price for houses at $975,000, a record level.
