For investors, the innovative Smart Loan Package starts at 3.89 percent.
Mortimer said the new rates would help the site in its mission to rapidly drive online lending from five to 25 per cent of the Australian lending market.
Parent company Firstmac has surged to become the 14th largest residential mortgage lender in Australia, ahead of household names including Citbank, Heritage Bank, and Newcastle Permanent.
It is also Australa’s largest non-bank lender with aspirations to become an ADI.

Frasers Property Australia has purchased a 23 hectare parcel of industrial land in Braeside from Saltview Pty Ltd, a Hudson Conway subsidiary company.
Lynton Williams from Savills brokered the deal.
The land parcel is located on the corner of Governor Road and the proposed Mordialloc Bypass in Melbourne’s South-Eastern suburb of Braeside.
The acquisition of Braeside has been described as a natural extension of its 116 hectare The Key Industrial Park in Keysborough, which is approaching completion.
Braeside’s masterplan will comprise a mix of options including land sales, A-grade buildings for leases and turnkey opportunities for owner-occupiers.
Braeside estate is located adjacent to Mordialloc Bypass with construction set to commence by mid-2019. 
Frasers Property has recently completed several transactions in The Key Industrial Park including a 16,000sqm turnkey warehouse for ARB ($19.4 million) and ten year leases with Stanley Black &amp; Decker (21,722sqm), CH2 (21,200sqm), Silvan (11,948sqm), Rubies Deerfield (9,030sqm). Lawson Arcade at Byron Bay set for investor battle

A $127 million development has been lodged by the site's owners, KGH Co Pty Ltd, who also secured the neighbouring site.
KGH Co Pty Ltd, owned by Pierre Wakim and Mario Khaicy have proposed the 40-storey building.
KHG Co Pty Ltd, who along with Scruffy Murphy's, now owns the sites between 698 and 704 George Street.
The hotel will run from the fourth level to the 21st level, with the first three levels dedicated to the existing apartments at the heritage Kiss Building and Haymarket House, along with a gym and foyers.
From the 21st floor up there will be private apartments.
There will be 240 rooms in the hotel.

Revenues were up 17 per cent in the 2017 calendar year on 2016, with profits 18 per cent in the past year.
The Australian Financial Review said the result was led by contributions from JLL's facilities management business.
Facilities management revenues rose 67 per cent year-on-year after the agency won large government outsourcing contracts.

JLL Australia see revenues rise for eighth year

The first stage of the $1.5 billion Ripley Town Centre has secured an array of new leases as construction of the $40 million project is well advanced.
The latest leases lift its occupancy to over 80 per cent in what will be a marketplace-style centre anchored by a Coles supermarket.
It will be supported by 20 specialty stores, a medical centre and commercial office space.
Ripley Town Centre has secured tenancies from liquor giant BWS, a bakery, newsagent, nail salon, hairdresser, massage centre and café.
The Victoria-based Quay Family Healthcare signed up for the major medical centre to operate on the site.
Other health and medical tenants secured include The Discount Chemist, dentist Dr Nauv Kashyap who is opening his eighth South East Queensland practice, and Ipswich veterinarian Andrew Hemming who is targeting a second surgery to complement his existing Flinders View Veterinary Surgery.
Construction of the 9000sqm first stage is now well advanced with the roof installed, glazing and shopfronts currently being installed.  
“We’re pleased with construction progress over the past year, and we’re thrilled to see the number of retailers and commercial businesses moving to capitalise on the potential of the regional town centre,” said Ripley Town Centre development manager Taku Hashimoto. 
The new regional hub will service up to 120,000 people expected to call the Ripley region home over the coming years.
Ripley Town Centre has implemented several sustainability initiatives to secure a 5 Star Green Star Design through the installation of 1800 individual solar panels, with the majority to be installed on the 360 vehicle carpark shade structures as part of the 480kW system that will help generate a sizable portion of the town centre’s power needs at peak times.

Ripley Town Centre secures 80 percent occupancy well ahead of opening

A Gold Coast real estate agent was ordered to pay $14,364 in fines and compensation in the Southport Magistrates Court following an investigation by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).
Neil Hart, director of Wealthbuilt Realty in Molendinar, was fined $10,000, and ordered to pay $4,364 in witness and court costs after failing to organise repairs to two rental properties, despite collecting payments for them to be undertaken.
The OFT investigation revealed discrepancies between quotes obtained by the real estate agent for repairs to the properties, the amounts paid by insurance companies against those quotes, and then finally the amounts paid to tradespeople to conduct the repairs.
The OFT also established the deceptions relied on the agent creating and supplying a fake invoice and on failing to deposit repair money into the agency’s trust account.
In sentencing, the court considered Mr Hart’s guilty plea and previously unblemished record.
Fair Trading Acting Executive Director Craig Turner said real estate agents are in a position of trust and have no right producing false documents.
“Consumers have the right to expect that all paperwork received for transactions are accurate; they are not a tool for manipulation,” Mr Turner said.
“The OFT will not stand for any agent committing such duplicitous acts within the property industry.”

Gold Coast agent fined after tenant repair discrepancies

Auction volumes continued to increase across the combined capital cities last weekend, according to CoreLogic.
The national auctions recorded a preliminary clearance rate of near 68 percent.
Number of listings nearly doubled, with 1,464 homes going under the hammer this weekend in comparison to 790 the weekend before.

The nation are still behind from this time last year when there were 1,591 auctions held. The February 2017 clearance rate was stronger too, up at 72 percent.
Melbourne had the strongest clearance rate at 72.5 percent, while Sydney was at 68.7 percent, up from 57 last week.
The strongest of Sydney's 15 sub-regions were the Eastern Suburbs (85.2 per cent), the Northern Beaches (79.1 per cent) and the Inner West (75 per cent) regions. 
The lowest clearance rate was across the Sutherland Shire where 46.7 per cent of the 30 reported auctions were successful.

Clearance rates warming up after January slowdown: CoreLogic

Lisa Halpin has been appointed by Queensland Sotheby’s International Realty to head up its new North Gold Coast office.
Ms Halpin started working within the Gold Coast real estate industry just five years ago.
Her strong sales have garnered more than $130 million in recent residential property deals.
Having formerly worked with other prestigious firms, McGrath estate agents and Savills, Ms Halpin started with Queensland Sotheby’s International Realty at the Main Beach office.
The North Gold Coast office, of which she will be Director and Principal, is due to open in Spring.
“I knew the Sotheby’s brand well from England, where I’m originally from, and also in Dubai where I lived for 12 years and owned and managed my own real estate business," she said.

Moonee Valley Park penthouse sets suburb record as sales surge clears construction benchmark

A company linked to one of Australia's largest privately owned cattle businesses has lodged plans for a new residential tower in <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developments/newstead-qld-4006">Newstead</a>, continuing the rapid transformation of one of Brisbane's most sought-after, inner-city precincts.

Bottletree Holdings, an entity associated with Stanbroke Managing Director Brendan Menegazzo, has submitted a development application for a 28-storey mixed-use tower at <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/9-longland-street-newstead-qld-4006">9 Longland Street</a>, a site that made headlines last year when it changed hands in an off-market transaction that reportedly set a benchmark land rate for the suburb.

The proposal would replace an existing two-storey commercial building on the 1,510 sqm corner site with a Bureau Proberts-designed tower comprising 76 apartments, ground-floor retail, office space and a suite of resident wellness amenities.

According to planning documents lodged with Brisbane City Council, the development would comprise a mix of 36 two-bedroom apartments, 24 three-bedroom apartments and 16 four-bedroom residences, positioning the project firmly at the premium end of the market. The apartments would sit above a podium containing retail and commercial space, with three levels of communal recreation facilities spread throughout the tower. The proposal also includes 198 car spaces and 95 bicycle spaces.

Bureau Proberts has drawn heavily on Newstead's industrial heritage in developing the architectural response.

"Occupying a prominent corner in the heart of Newstead, the proposal draws from the area's industrial lineage of robust brick warehouses to deliver a distinctly contemporary response," the architects said in the design statement.

"It is conceived as a subtropical sanctuary and elevated private retreat embedded within one of Brisbane's most vibrant lifestyle precincts."

The design seeks to reinterpret the traditional Queensland vernacular through wraparound verandahs, deep shading elements and permeable facades that respond to Brisbane's subtropical climate.

The tower itself would rise above a heavily landscaped podium designed to reference the woolstore architecture that helped define Newstead and neighbouring Teneriffe for generations. At ground level, fine-grain retail tenancies would activate Longland Street, Wyandra Street and the existing Wyatt Street laneway, further extending the pedestrian network that has become a hallmark of the Gasworks precinct.

The application notes that more than 54 per cent of the site would be dedicated to landscaping and deep planting, while approximately 1,750 sqm of communal recreation space would be delivered across multiple levels.

Bottletree paid $22 million for the 1,510 sqm development site, equating to more than $14,500 per sqm, a reflection of the strong demand for development opportunities in Newstead. The suburb continues to attract both developers and buyers, underpinned by the ongoing evolution of the Gasworks and Teneriffe precincts into some of Brisbane's most sought-after lifestyle destinations.

Brisbane City Council's Sustainable Growth Strategy and Inner City Strategy both identify Newstead as a priority growth precinct capable of accommodating additional housing density due to its proximity to employment hubs, public transport and lifestyle infrastructure.

Fortis recently launched <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/crest-walker-newstead-12-kyabra-street-newstead-qld-4006">Crest &amp; Walker</a>, a 65-apartment owner-occupier-focused development on Kyabra Street, while Consolidated Properties Group is preparing to launch <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/castile-47-skyring-terrace-newstead-qld-4006">Castile</a>, a 227-apartment waterfront project on Skyring Terrace.

Meanwhile, builder-developer BPG is planning its own Newstead project on Maud Street, comprising just over 100 apartments and more than 1,380 sqm of dedicated wellness and resident amenity spaces, further highlighting the shift towards lifestyle-driven apartment developments in Brisbane's inner-city market.

ALAND has taken the next major step in delivering its vision for Leppington Town Centre, lodging State Significant Development plans for a $549 million residential precinct that would bring more than 1,200 new homes within walking distance of Leppington Station.

The proposal, now on public exhibition, forms the Residential Core Precinct of the broader Leppington Town Centre masterplan and would transform a 4.3-hectare site at <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/156-166-rickard-road-leppington-nsw-2179">156-166 Rickard Road</a> into a high-density mixed-use neighbourhood comprising nine residential buildings rising between six and 25 storeys.

The development has been designed by Rothelowman and is being pursued through a State Significant Development Application alongside a concurrent rezoning request under the NSW Government's Housing Delivery Authority pathway.

If approved, the project would deliver 1,206 dwellings, including 784 build-to-sell apartments, 208 build-to-rent apartments, 189 affordable housing units and a nine-storey serviced apartment building containing 112 rooms. The proposal also includes around 7,400 sqm of non-residential floor space, new public open space, communal recreation areas and a new internal street network.

<h2 data-end="1990" data-section-id="s6350" data-start="1941">A key piece of Leppington's future town centre</h2>

The site sits around 250 metres from Leppington Station, which opened in 2015 as the terminus of the South West Rail Link and has long been earmarked as the catalyst for the suburb's transformation from a rural fringe location into a major strategic centre for Western Sydney.

Leppington has become increasingly important following the announcement of the Western Sydney International Airport and the emergence of Bradfield City Centre, with government planning identifying the precinct as a significant location for future housing and employment growth.

According to Rothelowman, the proposal responds directly to Leppington's unique position between its agricultural past and its urban future.

"The site offers an opportunity to weave together multiple layers of history, from its ancient connections to Country along the ridgeline between two waterways and its origins as part of the Cumberland woodland, to its more recent agricultural uses, and its future as a new residential community," the architects said in the design report.

The architects said the project aims to establish a high-density residential typology that combines apartment living with extensive landscaping and public open space.

"The design responds by establishing a high-density typology that combines the convenience and amenity of contemporary apartment living with a renewed native landscape."

<h2 data-end="3541" data-section-id="1ko88s2" data-start="3485">Nine buildings arranged around parks and public space</h2>

The proposal has been designed around a landscape-led framework rather than a traditional podium-and-tower approach.

Across the site, approximately 7,500 sqm of public open space would be delivered through a network of north-south and east-west linear parks, connecting into the wider Leppington Town Centre open space network. A further 8,000 sqm of communal open space would be provided for residents.

Rothelowman said the design seeks to maximise landscaping at ground level by concentrating development into compact tower footprints.

"Buildings are carefully lifted and distributed to minimise disturbance to the natural terrain, allowing the ground plane to remain open, permeable, and led by landscape," the design report states.

Rather than creating a continuous podium edge, the design team has focused on allowing landscaping to extend beneath and around the buildings.

"The ground plane is conceived as an extension of the surrounding environment, allowing landscape to flow up to and beneath the built forms."

The architectural language also draws on the area's natural landscape, with Rothelowman describing a material palette influenced by local gum trees, bark textures, creek systems and sandstone tones.

One of the more significant aspects of the proposal is the diversity of housing typologies.

In addition to traditional apartments for sale, the scheme includes a dedicated 25-storey build-to-rent building with 208 apartments and a 22-storey affordable housing building containing 189 homes.

The affordable housing component represents almost 16 per cent of the total dwellings proposed within the Residential Core Precinct.

Community consultation undertaken ahead of the lodgement found support for additional housing in the area, particularly given ongoing affordability challenges across South West Sydney. Survey work conducted with local residents found housing affordability was one of the poorest-rated aspects of living in Leppington, while a majority of respondents were open to additional housing within the local government area.

The site's proximity to Leppington Station was identified as the most positively viewed aspect of the proposal, while public open space and affordable housing provisions also received majority support.

<h2 data-end="6184" data-section-id="1ngkie4" data-start="6140">Part of Leppington's broader expansion</h2>

ALAND will be a significant contributor to the broader vision for Leppington Town Centre, which is expected to accommodate more than 25,000 residents as the precinct evolves over the coming decades.

Located within Sydney's South West Growth Area, the 440-hectare Leppington Town Centre has been identified by the NSW Government as a strategic centre spanning both the Liverpool and Camden local government areas.

In 2023, Liverpool City Council and Camden Council, supported by the NSW Department of Planning and Environment, prepared a draft planning proposal to rezone land and amend development controls across a number of sites within the town centre.

The proposal outlines a new vision for Leppington Town Centre, reducing the amount of land allocated for business park uses while increasing land zoned for commercial development, housing and open space. The changes are designed to optimise land use across the precinct and support the delivery of a more walkable, transit-oriented centre anchored by Leppington Station.

ALAND plots 1,200-home Leppington masterplan

Brisbane-based developer <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/trk-property-group">TRK Property Group</a>&nbsp;has enlisted renowned architecture firm Koichi Takada Architects to design its latest new apartment development.

The new 34-storey tower at <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/57-berwick-street-fortitude-valley-qld-4006">57 Berwick Street, Fortitude Valley</a>,&nbsp;will have 189 apartments, complete with interiors by <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/architects/byculprit">byCULPRIT</a>. The upper levels&nbsp;capturing views across the Story Bridge, city skyline, ranges, bay and river.

Residents will have access to a rooftop amenity floor with facilities including a pool, spa, sauna, hot and cold treatment, meditation garden, gym, yoga studio, private dining, BBQ, games lounge, wine display wall, work library, meeting rooms and outdoor work areas.

TRK recently launched <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-townhouses/laya-residences-taigum-203-beams-road-taigum-qld-4018">LAYA Residences in Taigum</a>, 88 three-bedroom townhouses starting from $1,495,000. They have another apartment site in Indooroopilly, at <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/140-central-avenue-indooroopilly-qld-4068">140 Central Avenue</a>. That will have 131 apartments.&nbsp;
