<a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/mayd-group">MAYD Group</a> has set a new residential price record in Queensland with the $30 million sale of the penthouse at its <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/one-burleigh-88-the-esplanade-burleigh-heads-qld-4220">ONE Burleigh</a> development in Burleigh Heads.

The sale equates to around $37,500 per sqm.

The two-level, 800 sqm penthouse, featuring five bedrooms, five bathrooms, five car spaces, and a private infinity pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean, was acquired by a Gold Coast-based entrepreneur, highlighting continued demand for ultra-premium beachfront product.

Selling agent Freddie Tehle of PRD Burleigh Heads said the result reflects tightening supply of high-quality, large-format apartments in Burleigh.

MAYD Group sets Queensland record with $30 million penthouse sale at ONE Burleigh in Burleigh Heads

Apartment developers in the Gold Coast are finding new, creative ways to differentiate themselves from competing projects, as new supply starts to flow through up and down the Coast.

Developer BIG Projects brought in the renowned Sydney-based design studio YSG Studio to craft the interiors for The Frederick, BIG Projects' new Mermaid Beach project and YSG Studio's first move into the multi-residential development space.

It was a strategic move for BIG Projects to bring in a Sydney eye to the development.

“Our role is to give our design partners the space and freedom to explore,” says Matt Barrett, Director of BIG Projects.

“We wanted YSG Studio to capture the essence of Nobby’s, to design a building that embraces life, light and connection, while creating a genuine sense of place.”

There are only 39 apartments in The Frederick, including a striking beach house, just 100 metres from the booming Nobby Beach precinct.&nbsp;

SRQ Projects Director Nick Clydsdale, who is handling sales at The Frederick, says the majority of enquiry is coming from South East QLD and Victorian buyers who have been actively searching between Broadbeach and Mermaid Beach for some time.

"They’ve reviewed a number of projects, however this one has stood out for its unique detailing and compelling design,"&nbsp;Clydsdale says.

Site demolition is slated for this month, with construction commencing soon after. BIG Projects is targeting a late 2027 completion.

Melbourne-based property developer ALTA Property has this week achieved planning approval for the adaptive re-use of a former commercial tower into a $200 million, 169-apartment project at 10 Queens Road, one of the last developable sites along the Albert Park Lake-fronting boulevard.&nbsp;

Set within one of Melbourne’s most sought-after precincts and designed by <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/architects/fraser-partners-0">Fraser and Partners</a>, the illustrious building will offer unparalleled views across Albert Park Lake, Port Phillip Bay and Melbourne CBD.&nbsp;

High-end property developer Fortis, who are creating striking projects across Sydney and Melbourne's bluechip suburbs, have launched their latest project.

Following the largest site amalgamations in the affluent suburb of Woollahra, Fortis has launched The Woollahra Collection, just 25 residences, a mix of apartments and terraces.

MHN Design Union have been appointed as the lead architects on the project, with landscaping by Wyer &amp; Co. The 1900s terrace interiors are being redesigned by local Phoebe Nicol. On offer will be a collection of two and three bedroom homes with north-facing gardens and secure car parking.

The buildings on the site date back to the late 1800s and early 1900s and will be architecturally restored as part of the $170 million project. Alongside the refurbished buildings, Woollahra Collection will also feature newly built luxury residences, comprising two, three and four-bedroom apartments.

Part of the project is the restoration of the&nbsp;1880s theatre, which will be restored by Mim Design and converted into a single trophy residence, with an expected end value of around $15 million. Fortis launch The Woollahra Collection

A $7.55 million three bedroom Woollahra penthouse sale topped weekend auction apartment sales.

CoreLogic calculated there was a 71 percent success rate from the nation's 688 weekend apartment offerings, as compared to 81 percent for the 2206 houses that went under the hammer.

The 3/19 Rosemont Ave, Woollahra offering sold auction eve last Friday after a $5.8 million offer lobbed with the listing agent Ben Collier at The Agency.

The auction was brought forward with Collier taking the phone bids for the Hong Kong based vendors.

The Young family had paid $3.3 million in 2014 for the top floor apartment sitting under a mansard style roof. 

The triplex was developer by the Michael Hannan, the former executive chairman of the family led IPMG publishing group.

Melbourne's top apartment sale was a five bedroom, two storey townhouse at Black Rock.

The 1B Third Street duplex was sold by 11 North Property for $2.61 million.

The property had previously been three single storey, three bedroom villas.

Close to Black Rock village, the near new townhouse had high ceilings, large windows and timber floors. 

It's pre-auction price guide had been $2 million to $2.2 million based on recent comparable sales advised as $2 million at 13a Florida Ave, Beaumaris and 4b Bolton St, Beaumaris.

The subdued price hopes of the Leckie family for their redundant Woollahra apartment have been realised with a small loss being taken.
The two-bedroom top-floor Queen St apartment was bought in 2016 for a bullish $1.2 million as a bolthole for Harry Leckie, the son of former high-profile TV executive David Leckie and wife Skye.
It sold midweek for $1.1 million.
On the bright side, buyers had been given a $990,000 guide and it was snapped up ahead of its June 6 auction through Alexander Phillips and Vince Licata at Phillips Pantzer Donnelley.
The 59sq m apartment is set on the second floor northeast corner with leafy views in The Alpha, a classic block of 12 which has its columned ­entrance on Alton St.
It was offered as a $775-a-week rental in 2018 when, after a stint at the Potts Point lifestyle concept store Becker Minty, Harry relocated to London to study interior design.
The block’s highest recent sale was the 59sq m unit directly below at $1.13 million last September.
Overall, Woollahra has a $1.04 ­median price for two-bedroom units, according to realestate.com.au.
 Its two-bedroom units have a $695-a-week median rent reflecting a 3.4 per cent rental yield. Based on five years of sales, Woollahra has experienced a compound growth rate of 5.7 per cent for units, which suggests the family overpaid on purchase.

Leckie's Woollahra bolthole sells for $100,000 less than bought for

It has $2.5 million to $2.6 million.
Keighery will move permanently to Palm Beach, where her $7.55 million Snapperman Beach has been recently renovated.
Keighery bought the Junction Street terrace for $2.21 million in 2017.
It was when she was trading down from her former home opposite the Lough Playing Fields which sold for $4.2 million.
The last sale on Junction Street was $2.5 million last December. It has barely gone up on its $2.39 million sale in 2017.

They’re seeking $8.25 million for the four bedroom heritage-listed home that dates back to the 1890s.
The couple paid $3.4 million in 2014 and have since renovated the home to have 320 sqm of internal living space.
There’s a landscaped garden with outdoor kitchen, and a whole entertaining level with cocktail bar and a custom designed wine cellar and tasting room.

Now the chief executive of Chris Morris’s Colonial Leisure Group, whose flagship venue is the Portsea Hotel, Sergeant left Merivale in 2016 after nine years when he was the chief operating officer.
His first job was as a glassie at AHL’s Mitcham Hotel.
Nelson Street’s most recent sale was when recruitment boss Phil Kerry and his wife, Anne-Maree, secured the 1880s Victorian Regency trophy mansion, Larissa for $8.5 million, having sold in Darling Point for $18 million to insurer Richard Enthoven.

Former Merivale exec Brett Sergeant lists Woollahra mansion Maroomba

The philanthropic fashion doyen Peter Weiss and wife Doris have 
listed their two bedroom Woollahra cottage.
They are spending more and more time entertaining up at their Palm Beach weekender, which has prompted the listing of their city bolthole.
Weiss, who helped define the Australian fashion scene in the 1980s and 1990s, bought the Woollahra cottage for $3.75 million in 2015 from the late composer Peter Sculthorpe.
It was a three bedroom home at the time.
It was set to become a music fellowship residence centre, in Sculthorpe's honour, however the plans didn't eventuate. Instead Weiss installed a lift to help him around what became their new abode.
He would however regularly host music events in the home's studio.
Sculthorpe had owned the charming three bedroom Holdsworth Street cottage sine 1976.
1st City agent Simon Doak has a pre-Easter auction scheduled for early April.
The Weiss' have long entertained at their many Palm Beach homes they've owned over the years.
Their Whale Beach Road property saw the bigger parties, but they sold that for $4.1 million in 2006.
They later owned the Peter Muller-designed pavilion-style home on Bynya Road, which they sold for $3.6 million four years ago to upgrade to a waterfront.
They spent $10 million on the home of rag trader turned farmer Gordon Smith, who had the home renovated by Walter Barda in 2010.
Weiss is a longtime lover of the arts.
Born in 1935 in Vienna, Peter came to Australia in 1939, brought up in a musical family where from childhood he had a passion for playing the cello.
He was among the first members of the Art Gallery on New South Wales Foundation when it was established in 1983 and was made a life governor of the gallery in 2009.
Through the 1990s he sponsored concerts at St James's Church in Sydney. He was one of the early sponsors of a 'chair' in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.
His $1 million donation established the Instrument Fund of the Australian Chamber Orchestra, then in 2016 he bought the ACO a 1729 Guarneri cello.
He donated the Corbousier tapestry to the SSO and Opera House.
Weiss used to spend time in the Southern Highlands back in the day, but sold Wollumbi, their French countryside farmhouse, for just shy of $15 million in 2015.
