The residential transformation of St Kilda Road is set to continue into with more new apartment plans for the sought-after boulevard.

Wing Tai Asia has lodged plans for a major residential tower at 464-466 St Kilda Road, replacing the former VACC House with an 18-storey mixed-use development designed around a retained heritage podium and a sculpted contemporary tower.

The proposal, prepared under Victoria’s Significant Residential Development with Affordable Housing pathway, would deliver 325 apartments and ground-floor retail across the prominent 4,653 sqm boulevard site in Melbourne’s St Kilda Road North Precinct.

The project centres on the adaptive reuse of the site’s heritage-listed VACC Building, an eight-storey office designed by Bernard Evans that has occupied the address for decades. Planning documents state the development would involve “carefully dismantling and conserving off-site the original metal fabric of the podium visible from St Kilda Road,” before reinstating it as the defining frontage of the new scheme.

Above the restored podium, Wing Tai is proposing a curvilinear residential tower. The scheme includes 172 one-bedroom apartments, 63 two-bedroom apartments, 66 three-bedroom apartments, and 24 four-bedroom apartments, alongside two ground-floor food and beverage tenancies fronting St Kilda Road.

The tower has been designed with substantial articulation and variable setbacks to minimise perceived bulk and maintain view corridors along the boulevard. Urbis, which prepared the planning report, said the design “has been significantly articulated through a curvilinear design” with “an interplay with materials, façade expression and depth” to create visual separation and visual interest.

The proposal also includes 254 basement car spaces, landscaped pedestrian links connecting St Kilda Road and Queens Lane, and a biophilic landscape strategy featuring canopy trees, raised planters, cascading greenery and a glass oculus pool overlooking the eastern frontage.

Planning documents confirm the $270.1 million development will contribute 3 per cent of project costs to the Social Housing Growth Fund as part of the application process.

Wing Tai acquired the St Kilda Road property in 2018 alongside Abacus Property Group for $95.38 million, before later consolidating ownership of the site. The property previously served as the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce headquarters for around 60 years.

The transformation of the St Kilda Rd boulevard is already beginning to materialise, with a number of high-profile projects recently completed, launched, or approaching launch as developers continue to back the long-term appeal of the precinct.

Among the most notable recent completions is Louise by Samuel Property Group, just off the strip on Queens Lane, the same pocket Hirsch &amp; Faigen recently launched The Queensbury. Mirvac is too on the same street with The Albertine, which is approaching completion.

Dexus recently secured approval for its slice of St Kilda Road, while Gurner also has approved plans for the precinct.

Wing Tai unveils 325-apartment St Kilda Road tower on former VACC House site

Malaysian developer <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/s-p-setia">SP Setia</a> is the latest to jump into St Leonards booming Transport Oriented Development precinct.

The developer, which has previously delivered Sapphire by the Gardens apartment development in Melbourne, identified the Atchison Street site in 2023. It filed a Scoping Report around 12 months ago, and now has revealed the designs for the new&nbsp;40-storey mixed-use tower.

The State Significant Development Application covers <a href="https://next-portal.urban.com.au/projects/14650/summary">20-22 Atchison Street</a>, a 1,374 sqm site positioned between St Leonards Station and the new Crows Nest Metro station.

Designed by <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/architects/cox-architecture">COX Architecture</a>, the project would deliver 181 apartments, above a four-storey commercial podium, five basement levels, and new public domain works along Mitchell Street. The apartment mix comprises 35 one-bedroom apartments, 39 one-bedroom-plus-study apartments, 85 two-bedroom apartments, and 22 three-bedroom residences.

The proposal has been lodged as a shop-top housing development under the NSW Government’s TOD planning pathway, which allows increased density around key transport infrastructure. The site sits within the recently rezoned Crows Nest Accelerated TOD Precinct.

SP Setia acquired the Atchison Street site as part of its continued expansion into the Australian apartment market. In comments made to City &amp; Country (The Edge Malaysia) in 2023, SP Setia President and CEO Datuk Choong Kai Wai described the acquisition as “a strategic move” aligned with the group’s post-pandemic market recovery strategy.

“Our target for this exceptional development is local and overseas buyers, including first-home buyers, downsizers and investors,” Choong said.

The tower has been designed as a slender vertical form rising from a mixed-use podium, with COX Architecture positioning the development as a response to the evolving St Leonards and Crows Nest skyline.

“The purpose of the project is to facilitate the delivery of high-quality housing at a strategically located site and deliver a built tower outcome that is consistent with the desired future character of St Leonards and aligns with the TOD controls,” the design report stated.

The podium would incorporate retail uses fronting Atchison Street, commercial tenancies, landscaped communal areas, and pedestrian improvements along Mitchell Street. Vehicle access and loading would be consolidated via Atchison Lane.

Residents would have access to more than 665 sqm of communal indoor and outdoor spaces, while the development proposes 96 parking spaces across five basement levels.

The proposal also includes a commitment for 10 per cent of residential floor space to be allocated toward affordable housing through a monetary contribution.

COX said the tower form responds directly to the emerging high-density character of the precinct while seeking to maximise solar access, cross ventilation, and outlook from apartments.

“The building is orientated towards north,” the Apartment Design Guide compliance report noted, adding that the tower’s slim form was driven by the constrained inner-urban site dimensions.

The design also incorporates landscaped setbacks and communal open space at podium level, intended to soften the interface with surrounding streets and improve pedestrian amenity.

The project adds to a growing wave of redevelopment proposals reshaping St Leonards and Crows Nest following the opening of the Sydney Metro City line and the NSW Government’s push for higher-density housing around major transport nodes.

<a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/urban-property-group">Urban Property Group</a> has revealed plans for a new mixed-use tower at 10 Dangar Street, Wickham, advancing a proposal that would reshape the southern gateway to Newcastle’s city centre with one of the city’s tallest residential buildings.

The State Significant Development proposal, now on exhibition, seeks approval for a <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/bowline-10-dangar-street-wickham-nsw-2293">43-storey tower</a> immediately adjacent to the Newcastle Interchange. The project would deliver around 200 apartments, including 42 affordable housing dwellings, alongside 99 co-living units, a 171-room hotel, retail space, and new public domain integrated through the site.

The scheme marks a significant escalation of plans previously approved for the site. Urban Property Group took over the prominent 2,904 sqm parcel, where excavation and demolition had already commenced under an earlier consent for a 14-storey mixed-use development.

Designed by <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/architects/sjb-architects">SJB</a>, the tower has been conceived as a landmark transit-oriented development anchored to the Newcastle Interchange precinct. The proposal includes 245 build-to-sell apartments across a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom residences, as well as two penthouses. Fifteen apartments and one operational unit are earmarked for NDIS housing. The co-living component would add a further 99 units, while the podium would accommodate retail uses and hotel facilities.

SJB said the site presents “a valuable opportunity to anchor the precinct by setting the standard for design, active ground planes and character at the key southern gateway.”

The architecture responds directly to the site’s position beside major transport infrastructure and within one of Newcastle’s fastest-evolving urban renewal precincts. The tower form sits above a sculpted podium designed to frame new public spaces, including a through-site pedestrian link connecting Station Street to Hannell Street, landscaped plazas, and activated retail edges.

The design report describes the project as part of the broader transition of Wickham into “a vibrant, high-quality mixed-use urban precinct” that leverages proximity to the station, open space, and regional connectivity.

A detailed public art strategy has also been prepared for the development. The strategy positions the project as “a transit-oriented development of state significance at the gateway to Newcastle’s city centre” and outlines a series of integrated artworks responding to Newcastle’s industrial and transport heritage.

Creative Road’s curatorial framework for the project, titled Unveil, draws on “stratified surfaces, carved volumes, and light-filled apertures” while referencing Newcastle’s transformation from an industrial city into a contemporary education and technology hub.

The proposal is being advanced through the NSW Housing Delivery Authority pathway after being declared State Significant Development in June 2025. The accompanying scoping report states the development aims to “maximise the site’s proximity to the Newcastle Interchange by delivering transit-oriented development” while increasing housing supply and affordable housing provision within the Newcastle LGA.

Urban Property Group’s plans align with the long-term strategic vision established under the Wickham Master Plan, which identified the interchange precinct as suitable for substantial uplift in height and density. The current proposal would significantly intensify that vision, positioning the tower among the tallest developments proposed for Newcastle.

The site sits immediately north of the Newcastle Interchange, bounded by Dangar Street, Hannell Street, and Charles Street. It is surrounded by a rapidly growing cluster of residential towers and mixed-use projects that have emerged following the completion of the light rail and transport interchange.

Set to launch its mutli-billion dollar La Pelago in Surfers Paradise to the local market soon, the&nbsp;national apartment developer GurnerTM has their eyes on their next Gold Coast project.

It's something completely different to La Pelago, which will see around 800 apartments built on its prime Ferny Ave site.

GurnerTM, led by prominent developer Tim Gurner, has put together something more boutique for its Burleigh Heads site that was secured late last year.

Gurner&nbsp;has had their go-to Melbourne-based architecture firm Warren &amp; Mahoney create a 22-level tower at 1929 Gold Coast Highway, which will home 80 apartments.

It's more affordable owner-occupier stock than some in the area, with the building&nbsp;dominated by large two-bedroom apartments.

There's just eight three-bedroom apartments, including the sprawling full floor penthouse. There's 64 two-beds, each with a multi-purpose room. There's a single two-bed, two-bath apartment, and one one-bed unit.

The resident amenity, oriented to have views of Burleigh Beach and the hinterlands, is located on the roof&nbsp;and features a pool and a barbecue space.

In their architect statement submitted to the local council, Warren &amp; Mahoney noted the two key elements of the Burleigh Beach project, proximity and aspect.

"These elements craft orientation and enable each home to be unique. By considering first principles and designing from the inside out, the floorplates allow occupants to be at the forefront."

They said the design emulates an architectural style unique to its context, taking cues from&nbsp;Burleigh Beach, Tallebudgera Creek and the National Park.

"Upon arrival, residents and visitors are drawn into the dense landscape followed by gentle ripples of the water reminiscent of evenings at the Pavillion.

"These undulations travel the facades and carve grooves for landscaping to seamlessly emerge.

Warren &amp; Mahoney write that the above elements on their own do not define the design.

"To be an expression of its&nbsp;context we have carried on the language of modern Burleigh - the vernacular has directed blended forms blurring beachside living with lush landscape.

"Expressed within the structure, the journey and the abode provide an experience of being in and around nature."

GV Property Group's Luke Reaby, who sold the site to Gurner, says interstate developers are bringing a fresh set of eyes and design to the Gold Coast strip.

"We welcome interstate developers at is Creating more competition in demanded suburbs, and setting a benchmark for a higher level of finish and architectural flair," Reaby says, adding that there's still plenty of interest from interstate developers who still see value in the Gold Coast development market.

The GV team are working with Gurner on his third local acquisition.

Multi-billion-dollar&nbsp;developer GURNERTM has been given the green light&nbsp;for the redevelopment for its first private residences and club concept, Club Maison.

The permit comes for the reinvigoration of a historic former bluestone church and former Sunday school hall at 145–151 High Street in Prahran 12 months after&nbsp;GURNERTM filed the plans to create 45 luxury apartments across six levels.

Also part of the plans, which was signed off by the City of Stonnington Council, is&nbsp;a 324 sqm food and beverage tenancy at ground level, and a 262 sqm rooftop bar, infinity pool and lounge with extensive views of Melbourne.

Long-time collaborators Warren and Mahoney Architects have designed the project with John Patrick Landscapes designing the lush greenery and exterior amenity.

The design is both sympathetic to the historical significance of both heritage buildings which date back to the 1870s, and representative of the new use as a high-end club-style offering designed for the discerning clientele.

GURNERTM general manager of boutique, Brooke Formosa said that to have enjoyed such a collaborative and supportive process with council underpins and reinforces their vision for this site which will reinvigorate this historic Gothic Revival building and inject new life into the site.

"We are incredibly happy that Council shares our affinity for this site and our plans to breathe it back to life as part of the vibrant Chapel Street precinct," Formosa said.

Gurner gets sign off for first Club Maison project in Prahran

GurnerTM is now operating in four states, having secured a prime development site in Nedlands, an affluent suburb on the outskirts on Perth.

In partnership with Geelong's Costa Property Group and Grange Development, GurnerTM, led by Tim Gurner, will be creating a $500 million ultra-luxury precinct on the 6,000 plus sqm site at 97-105 Stirling Highway.

There will be around 275 high-end apartments built,&nbsp;which will be delivered in stages of 60-100 residences per stage. The precinct will also feature 3,500 sqm of commercial, entertainment and retail space, as well as&nbsp;world-class health and wellness offering in what is fast becoming GURNERTM’s signature.

The site is one of the most significant regeneration precincts in Nedlands and will include an activated ground plane with public laneways and a plaza, communal lounges, a rooftop pool, garden and deck, children’s play areas, and large landscaped balconies which are staggered to create double-height volumes and improve access to natural light.

The team at GURNERTM is currently making changes to the existing permit to create a true Town Square and public realm across the ground level and first floor.&nbsp;Elenberg Fraser, the architect that led the original scheme, will be retained.

The area’s median house price of $1.91m makes it one of Perth's&nbsp;top-five most expensive suburbs, according to REIWA.

The two original developers and GURNERTM will share a 50-50 split in the project.

The multi-billion dollar property developer GURNERTM has picked up a site in Geelong for its next mixed-use residential project.

Tim Gurner, founder of GURNERTM, has teamed up with the local&nbsp;property identity Dean Montgomery to&nbsp;transform a historic former wool store at&nbsp;20-28 Brougham Street, creating&nbsp;a sustainable mixed-use precinct with an activated ground plane, a hotel and urban gardens, and residential apartments above the hotel.

“We will be bringing an incredible 5-star hotel to this location, that will feature a retail and hospitality offering at the ground floor that will be reminiscent of Chelsea Market in New York," Gurner says.

“Sitting on top of the hotel will be a collection of large luxury owner-occupier residences for locals and downsizers."

The vision by Gurner and Montgomery will see&nbsp;the restoration of the heritage façade of the historic four-storey, red brick building. There will be a new&nbsp;ground-floor food and beverage precinct created, linking the new council offices to the nearby university by foot, as well as a 5-star hotel component and luxury residences in the upper levels, along with a carbon neutral target as part of GURNERTM’s ambitious Greener by Gurner initiative.

GURNERTM engaged Fender Katsalidis to realise the design vision for the site and will lodge an amendment to that permit in late 2022.

Gurner believes there is considerable future growth in the Geelong area.

“Geelong has always been Victoria’s quiet achiever, but now with the renewed regional push as many families consider regional locations, I believe Geelong’s market run hasn’t really even begun yet.

"Buyers are reassessing their lifestyle choices and are looking for affordable locations close to beaches with easy accessibility into the CBD, and Geelong ticks all those boxes and more.

“Regional tourism is set to flourish in the next few years, as holiday preferences change and regional destination such as Geelong continue to grow in popularity – the opening of new attractions, like the Spirit of Tasmania terminal in Geelong, will further drive this activity."

Gurner says the building will be fully carbon neutral,&nbsp;and will offer an environmental point of difference not seen in Australia to-date.

“This is one of the last remaining prime waterfront sites with north-facing water views so we are excited by the possibilities and what we can deliver to truly maximise this incredible location.

“We acquired the site with Dean with the intention to create a residential, commercial and hotel precinct and it is our intention to bring that to life, however if the planning changes make that difficult we will proceed with the existing office scheme."

La Pelago, The Ferny Avenue, Surfers Paradise mega development by the Melbourne-based developer GURNERTM, has received development approval from the Gold Coast City Council.

The application for the $1.75 billion project, lodged in August, will see four towers built across a 11,000&nbsp;sqm plus block at 108&nbsp;Ferny Ave, which GURNER acquired&nbsp;following the high profile collapse of the developer Ralan, who had planned two towers on the site.

Over 900 residences have been signed off on, as well as over 200 hotel suites which will be part of the mixed-use central tower, the tallest tower which will rise up to 60 levels.

GURNERTM Founder and Managing Director, Tim Gurner, said La Pelago will be the culmination of all of their work over the past 15 years.

Designed by longstanding collaborator Warren and Mahoney, La Pelago centres on a private island theme whereby each of the project’s four towers is surrounded by a&nbsp;waterway lagoon, tropical landscaping and poolside water retreats, in addition to food and beverage tenancies, retail and open space.

The proposal also includes two levels plus one mezzanine level of basement, three storeys of a consolidated podium and 1,257 car spaces – recreation facilities, open areas and green spaces sit atop the podium level, with additional indoor communal recreation areas throughout the podium and towers for residents and guests.

Mid-2022 will see an initial VIP launch to GURNERTM's client database, which Gurner expects to see significant interest of the first release, before commencing a wider project launch later in the year.

GurnerTM, the luxury apartment developer, has appointed the national construction firm ICON Construction to build the&nbsp;first 68-level tower at its massive Gold Coast project La Pelago

The build price is estimated to be over $350 million, and will take just over three years to complete.

It's the first of four towers on the sprawling Ferny Avenue&nbsp;site, and will be the tallest at 68 levels, the fourth tallest tower on the Gold Coast. It will home over 350 apartments, a 200-room hotel, a health and wellness precinct, a private resort and club, and a level 42 sky bar, as well as premium retail and hospitality space.

There will be&nbsp;90 residences across the penthouse collection, ranging from levels 43 to 68.

Two-bedroom apartments are the most popular across the residential buildings, accounting for more than half of the apartments in each tower.

Tower four is the second biggest, and will home 248 apartments, with between four to 16 per floor across its 34 levels.

Tower one will have 150 apartments across 30 levels&nbsp;and tower two the most boutique, with between two and four apartments per floor across its 25 levels, totalling 95 apartments.

All up the proposal will see over 1088 apartments and hotel rooms built.

There wasn't too much to know about South Yarra's old jam factory on the buzzing Chapel Street, until the prominent, now national developer, Tim Gurner took control of a part of the massive 18,000 sqm site.

Now Gurner's development firm, GURNER, are set to submit plans for a massive $1.5 billion&nbsp;mixed-use precinct, comprising&nbsp;retail and entertainment, office and residential towers, an ultra-luxury hotel and a new public realm.

The globally renowned architects Bates Smart have put together the plans for the project, which is intended to create a vibrant new heart for Chapel Street while revitalising and restoring the Nineteenth Century heritage facades along Chapel and Garden Streets.

The development sees Gurner team up with the real estate manager&nbsp;Newmark Capital, who will deliver and retain ownership of the office space, and the leading real estate financier Qualitas, who will work with Gurner on the residential side. Gurner and Qualitas bought a chunk of the site from Newmark last year.

In keeping with Gurner's love for heritage buildings, the facade of the jam factory will be retained. Above will sit a&nbsp;curvilinear office building and a the residential towers, sat on stilts to welcome both people and light through.

Gold Coast insights: What happened on the Gold Coast over August?

There's no slowing down the&nbsp;rapidly active apartment developer GURNERTM, who is continuing to bolster its $7 billion pipeline.

Their latest play, following the announcement of the <a href="/news/qld/first-look-exclusive-gurner-reveals-1-25-billion-four-tower-surfers-paradise-apartment-development-la-pelago">$1.25 billion plans in Surfers Paradise</a>, is back on their home patch of Melbourne.

GURNER, led by the renowned developer Tim Gurner, has secured a site at 334 City Road in Southbank, and plans a $250 million, 40-level tower, which will have 400 apartments, ground-level retail, and a gym.

The joint venture with the Catalfamo family will feature&nbsp;what Tim Gurner refers to as ‘Melbourne’s hottest new rooftop venue’ in a celebration of the building’s past.

“This site is strategically located in the heart of the southern entertainment precinct within proximity to Crown Casino, South Melbourne and the Arts Precinct," Gurner said.

“We are increasingly building a portfolio of larger mixed-use projects where we can incorporate our wellness and concierge services as a longer-term play, and this project perfectly fits that model.

“Southbank is going through a renaissance of sorts with an increasing number of restaurants, bars and entertainment precincts while offering proximity to the best parts of Melbourne’s CBD, it allows us to do something special that will add to the flavour of the area while bringing our signature luxury approach to residential living.

The 1652 sqm site was once the home of the infamous Eve Nightclub, and more recently operated as a hostel, already has an existing permit in place.

GURNERTM has appointed its go-to architect collaborators Warren and Mahoney to redesign the scheme within the existing envelope, which has been re-submitted for council approval with plans for 400 one, two and three-bedroom residential apartments over 40 levels, along with a ground floor retail provision.

As has become the developer’s signature, the project has proposed plans for a unique amenity offering including a health and wellness precinct, a two-storey gym, a communal dining, cinema and entertainment precinct, dog wash and dog run, along with rooftop 
facilities.

The project will form one of the developer’s landmark mixed-use developments as it increasingly looks to add more projects of scale to its pipeline in line with GURNERTM’s strategic outlook across a multi-faceted build-to-sell, build-to-rent, hospitality, wellness and lifestyle portfolio.

Gurner is hoping demolition will be able to start this year.

Gurner says he has been&nbsp;planning and preparing for this very deliberate growth period methodically over the past 36 months, and the business has never been in a better position to support this acquisition phase.

“I believe this next property cycle will move quickly and it will be critical to swiftly capitalise\ on the economic recovery period we are currently experiencing, underpinned by what I am forecasting will be significant movement and migration from overseas from 2022 onwards.

“Over the past eight years we have added a huge amount of experience within our team and our strategic finance partners, and we are now looking to deliver approximately 10 projects per annum across our boutique, mixed-use and multi-tower divisions,” he said.

Warren and Mahoney principal Nick Deans said 344 City Road’s architectural design deliberately sets out to establish a new level of luxury living in the Southbank precinct.

“Warren and Mahoney was pleased to be awarded this prestigious project following a highly competitive pitch and to further deepen our relationship with the team at Gurner. We’ve been collaborating for close to ten years and this incredible tower is just another great chapter in our strong and evolving relationship.

“The external façade of the building makes a bold statement, designed ‘in the round’ to ensure it delivers appeal from all aspects.

“With its defined crown structure atop of the building, the tower is a symbolic piece of architecture that will be highly visible on the skyline of Southbank and contribute to Melbourne’s broader city-scape. And those living there will enjoy uninterrupted views of the CBD and back to Port Philip Bay.

“ We’ve also worked closely with the Gurner team to prototype and implement the ‘Greener by Gurner’ sustainability aspirations for a carbon neutral development – a standard we’d like to see across the board.”

Gurner plots 40-level mixed-use Southbank tower

The Melbourne-based developer GURNER, led by the high-profile developer&nbsp;Tim Gurner, has revealed its $1.25 billion plans for their Ferny Avenue, Surfers Paradise&nbsp;mega site.

The 11,000 plus sqm site at 108 Ferny Avenue will be known as&nbsp;La Pelago, and will comprise four huge towers with nearly 1,000 apartments, around a quarter dedicated to a hotel.

GURNER swooped for their first residential development on the Gold Coast, and only their second in Queensland, following the collapse of Ralan, who had planned for two&nbsp;towers on the sprawling Budds Beach site.

La Pelago, likely named after the small commune in Italy,&nbsp;centralises on a private island theme, where&nbsp;each building is surrounded by over 9,000 sqm of amenity, lush tropical landscaping by SWA and pool-side water retreats, creating four private islands.

Tim Gurner says&nbsp;La Pelago will be a new world experience for a beachside precinct that will be unlike anything ever attempted in Australia before, with an international hotel name that will be a new entrant to the Australian market.

“We have spent the last eight years identifying opportunities to transform significant sites across Australia into luxury precincts well before others jump on the trend. Using this approach we’ve been fortunate to ride a significant upswing in luxury sales across our projects like St Moritz and Victoria &amp; Vine in Melbourne, and large-format place-marking sites like FV in Brisbane," Gurner said.

“La Pelago is the next evolution in this journey. We believe Budds Beach is the next frontier of luxury on the Coast and we are creating a $1.25billion precinct that will enable us to be at the forefront of this transformation."

Gurner has had his go-to architect in Melbourne Warren Mahoney draw up the plans.

Tower three, the short-term accomodation tower, will be the biggest of the four, spanning&nbsp;55 levels, taking the building to over 190 metres high. That&nbsp;will make it the fifth tallest building on the Gold Coast.

Tower three will have 596 apartments, between two and 17 apartments per floor, and nearly 55,000 sqm of gross floor area. The tower is mainly made up of studio and one-beds, and will be the location of the hotel.

Two-bedroom apartments are the most popular across the three residential buildings, accounting for more than half of the apartments in each tower.

Tower four is the second biggest, and will home 248 apartments, with between four to 16 per floor across its 34 levels.

Tower one will have 150 apartments across 30 levels&nbsp;and tower two the most boutique, with between two and four apartments per floor across its 25 levels, totalling 95 apartments.

All up the proposal will see 1088 apartments built.

“La Pelago will allow us to draw on our unique experience in the retail, signature amenity and urban regeneration space, and apply it on a grand scale," Gurner said.

“When designing the project it was really about me dreaming about where we all want to be right now and for me that is a hot and sunny luxury private island. Something that offers sun, pools, amazing service, luxury amenities and residences – something right now you cannot get in Australia."

Warren and Mahoney design principal, Barrington Gohns, said&nbsp;La Pelago’s design will provide much more immersive experiences than previous projects, with stunning attention to detail across the four towers.

"The design very much respects the crisp, natural island experience utilising integrated landscape and pools, lots of white, timber and glass in its form, with bespoke elements in each ‘island’," Gohns said.

“The foundation of La Pelago is steeped in context and identity, acknowledging the tension between river and coastline, and the design only takes what it can give back. A strong focus on health wellness resonates throughout, along with a carbon neutral manifesto we continue to drive with GURNERTM.”
