The enormity of delivering a true skyscraper in Australia's new development market is often overlooked.

It has taken the best part of a decade since plans for Chevron One were first unveiled, but the 41-storey tower is now complete, with residents collecting their keys and moving into what has become one of the Gold Coast's most recognisable new landmarks.

Rising 127 metres above Chevron Island, Chevron One stands almost twice as high as any other building on the island. Its scale places it alongside the trio of towers at Jewel, arguably the last truly significant addition to the central Gold Coast skyline when they were completed around six years ago.

The early 1970s apartment last sold in 2013 at $1.3 million fetched just above the suburb's three bedroom $1,775,000 median.
Marks owns a bungalow in nearby Artarmon that he bought for $765,000 in the late 1990s. He has investment apartment in Mosman and Surry Hills, totalling over $1.5 million.
He has been boss of Nine since 2015, with his previous roles including CEO of the Southern Star Group.

Channel Nine boss Hugh Marks buys Neutral Bay pad

Julia Zaetta, the Better Homes and Gardens editor, has secured an apartment in Neutral Bay.
The boss of one of Australia's favourites magazines paid $1.45 million for the unit in the leafy Southern Cross Gardens complex.
It had previously traded for $960,000 in 2014 and was most recently listed as a $950 a week rental before its off market sale to Zaetta. 
The three bedroom, two bathroom apartment features an over-sized balcony with North Sydney skyline views.
There have been four sales above $1.4 million in the past year in the 1976-build complex.
The Mildura-born Zaetta moved from Melbourne to Sydney when her magazine career began with Australian Home Journal.
Zaetta has also worked on Family Circle, New Woman and The Australian Women's Weekly.
Under her editorship, Better Homes and Gardens has been named Australian Magazine of the Year on three occasions.
Zaetta, who has been a regular panelist on Sunrise as one of Kochie's Angels, has studied at the New York School of Interior Design.

Lola was founder and operator of Flavour of India restaurants in Glebe and Edgecliff, which she ran successfully for more than two decades before selling to retire six years ago.
Prior to this she was the director of advertising at Sussan Corporation in which she headed the wildly successful 'This Goes With That' campaign.
It was in her 20s that Crossingham got a passion for real estate with the purchase, renovation and subsequent sales of property.
"Since then, I have completed countless major renovations with many of the houses being included in magazine editorials," she said.
These days her time is spent between my home in rural northern NSW and her home in Bali.
"I do not see myself walking away from the possibility of future property ventures," she said.

Neutral Bay home of Flavour of India founder listed

NAB board director Phil Chronican has bought the Georgian-style Neutral Bay residence of property investor Denis Ellerker.
The Kurraba Point home sold for $7.7 million to Chronican who owns in Melbourne's Armadale after selling in The Residence, Darlinghurst.
The 1920s Neutral Bay home, with makeover by Michael Suttor and Michael Love, sold through Belle Property’s Tim Foote and Sotheby’s Michael Pallier.
Bought by Ellerker in 1980 for $397,500, it came with an initial asking of more than $9 million last October.
The Shellcove Road home, with tennis court, has gardens by Tony Ward Landscape Design on its 1460 sqm holding. 
Ellerker has bought in Darling Point, paying $11 million for the arts and crafts-style penthouse in the Babworth Estate sold by the widow of the late Macquarie Bank co-founder David Clarke.
