Sydney developer Deicorp is set to officially open its <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/hills-showground-village-castle-hill-2-mandala-parade-castle-hill-nsw-2154">Showground Village</a> precinct in Castle Hill.

NSW Premier Chris Minns will attend the opening on Sunday August 31, alongside&nbsp;Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully, The Hills Shire Council Mayor Dr Michelle Byrne, Landcom CEO Alex Wendler, and Deicorp Founder Fouad Deiri.

Located just moments from Hills Showground Metro Station, the centre spans 9,500 sqm across four levels and features 26 specialty retailers as well as a 1,400 sqm public plaza, creating a new community meeting point for shopping, dining, fitness, and everyday convenience.&nbsp;

ASX-listed developer Cedar Woods is progressing its plans for its Southbank arts precinct site.&nbsp;

The developer has filed plans, which are now with the&nbsp;Department of Transport and Planning, for a new 20-level tower at&nbsp;<a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/141-151-sturt-street-southbank-vic-3006">141–151 Sturt Street</a>, a 2,718 sqm block opposite the Habitat Filter sculpture.

The proposal seeks to demolish the two-level&nbsp;commercial building, including a small supermarket and medical tenancies, and create a new building with 180 apartments and a focus on an&nbsp;active public realm and arts integration.

A food and drink tenancy is planned to front Dodds Street, while a retail tenancy fronting Sturt Street will be accessed via an elevated walkway. The first floor includes a substantial 734 sqm creative arts space, envisioned to support Melbourne’s growing cultural and digital industries.

Architecture firm <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/architects/rothelowman">Rothelowman</a> has put together the plans. In their&nbsp;Urban Design Report they highlighted the project’s ambition to embed itself within Southbank’s evolving cultural fabric.

A central feature of the design is a through-block link connecting Sturt and Dodds Streets, landscaped with native plantings and embedded with universal access ramps.

“The ramp has been thoughtfully integrated as the primary access point, ensuring universal accessibility for all users,” the report noted, with the link offering “a direct response to the urban planning scheme of creating more green spaces within our communities”.

A communal rooftop recreation deck and indoor lounge are positioned on level four, adjoining seven apartments and providing over 900 sqm of resident amenity space.

Vehicle access and loading will be provided via Dodds Street, with 155 resident car spaces located across two basement levels and the first three above-ground floors. Bicycle storage is more generous, with 226 spaces distributed across resident, staff and visitor needs.

Rothelowman describes the architecture as “humanist,” with ground-level interfaces designed to encourage social interaction and provide a dignified entry for both residents and passers-by. “All street interfaces are crafted to invite and nurture human connections,” the design report states. “The façade transitions to a human scale, providing an approachable and engaging streetscape”.

Cedar Woods, while well-known for its large communities it develops outside of Australia's capital cities, they have recently developed in Melbourne's inner-ring before. They are approaching completion at <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-townhouses/88-leveson-north-melbourne-88-leveson-street-north-melbourne-vic-3051">88 Leveson</a>, just 15 townhouses in the heart of North Melbourne.

Brisbane developers Core Property Partners and Vector Property Australia has teamed up for Brisbane's newest apartment development.

The duo identified <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developments/east-brisbane-qld-4169">East Brisbane</a> as their preferred suburb, on the fringe of the Gabba Precinct, where they've just revealed BANKSII, 72 apartments opposite Raymond Park.

The building’s flowing geometry and natural tones are complemented by large balconies and floor-to-ceiling glazing, maximising cross-breezes, daylight and views over the city, parklands and river.

“Having a strong narrative for a building helps us architecturally,” MAS noted. "We can choose colours that come off that species of flowers. The trunk and the trees and the flower elements all are now visible in our joinery on the inside and in our architectural finishes on the outside."

Apartments will feature timber floors, soft porcelain tiles, brushed bronze fittings, and stone benchtops with warm veining.&nbsp;

Kitchens feature premium SMEG appliances and generous storage, while bathrooms have been designed as calming retreats with curved cabinetry and twin sinks in the master ensuites.

The building will feature a suite of rooftop and wellness amenities. Residents will have access to an infinity-edge pool, BBQ and alfresco dining areas, sun lounges and a rooftop sauna.&nbsp;

BANKSII sales launch in booming East Brisbane apartment market

The Minns Labor Government will deliver Sydney’s first new heavy rail station in more than a decade – enabling up to 10,000 new homes by rezoning land around Woollahra and Edgecliff stations, right next to the CBD, to tackle the housing crisis and rebalance growth across the city.

Recent reports by the NSW Productivity Commission have warned that Sydney is losing twice as many young people as it is gaining, while also finding that Woollahra is the most feasible Local Government Area (LGA) in New South Wales to build new housing.

Despite this, housing approvals in Woollahra consistently lag well behind other LGAs, and the population has declined by 11 per cent over the past 50 years while Greater Sydney as a whole has grown by 74 per cent.

The new station that will be an eight-minute trip from Sydney CBD, will be located on the Eastern Suburbs train line in Woollahra, where a station build was started in the 1970s but never completed.

To enable the delivery of new homes the NSW Government will lead a rezoning of Woollahra and Edgecliff stations similar to other state led rezonings to allow additional homes to be built around the stations.

Affordable housing will also make up a proportion of development on the site with the final amount of affordable housing required, to be determined as part of the rezoning process.

The area surrounding the new station is within walking distance of major green and recreational space including Cooper, Trumper, Rushcutters Bay and Centennial Parks.

The Eastern Suburbs train line between Bondi Junction and Sydney CBD also has the lowest passenger usage rates during the AM peak of any line on the Sydney network, with only 43 per cent of operating capacity during the AM peak currently being utilised by passengers.

Sydney Water and Infrastructure NSW have confirmed there is capacity in the water and wastewater systems to accommodate the proposed 10,000 dwellings without major upgrades.

The rezoning is expected to take around two years and will further support the Government’s housing targets that rebalance the delivery of new homes around existing infrastructure.

Evans and Robinson have ­enhanced the size of the courtyard, which now features a swimming pool along with more entertaining space complete with barbecue and fireplace.
The upper level terrace, off the curved media room and master bedroom, has ocean views.
The couple wed in a secret ceremony in late 2016 on their farm.
The controversial celebrity chef hit headlines earlier when he endorsed a podcast supporting anti-vaxxer views, which actively encouraged parents to not listen to doctors' calls to vaccinate their children.

Evans and the family spent time over the summer break at their farm in Pottsville, in northern NSW between Byron Bay and the Gold Coast. They recently added an outdoor ice bath to the farm.
Evans has been in the spotlight in recent weeks, as MKR celebrates its 10th season. He has also created headlines when he recently reiterated his 2016 suggestion there was no need to wear sunscreen.
The controversial health food couple have now listed their redundant five-bedroom home which is just a few streets back from the beach.
NG Farah Little Bay agents Peter Goulding and Nick Ujvary have the old family home going to auction on February 23. Buyers have been told similar homes are fetching prices between $2.5 million and $3 million.
The 2008 modern home on 330 sqm comes fitted with a designer commercial kitchen which opens on to a ground level wraparound ­courtyard.
Evans and Robinson have ­enhanced the size of the courtyard, which now features a swimming pool along with more entertaining space complete with barbecue and fireplace.

Sydney Swans coach John Longmire will be putting his feet up in a new Malabar home after his Swans sides finals run was cut short by a mauling from local rivals GWS.

Longmire and wife Shelley have not moved far, in fact they've stayed on the same street.

Having sold for $2.75 million (pictured above) in just nine days, the Longmire's secured their next home just 200 metres up the road.

They've paid $3,712,500 for a contemporary 2003 built home.

Spanning three levels, the home has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a study and a sauna.

The master retreat came with a spa ensuite, walk in wardrobe and dressing room.

The ground level living and dining areas open to the alfresco entertaining space which adjoins a swimming pool.

South Eastern Realty Malabar agent Angela Gladstone sold the home.

The Longmire's former home was bought shortly after he got the top job at the Swans.

They paid $1.7 million in 2011 and extensively renovated the two level, four bedroom home, adding a pool and cabana last year.

They opted against going through with the approval they secured for the home, which would have cost $1.1 million to turn it into a three level, five bedder.

Longmire, who played for North Melbourne during his AFL career, won a premiership with the Swans in his second season in charge.

Longtime Sydney Swans AFL coach John Longmire and wife Shelley have found a buyer in quick time for their Malabar home, set just 200 metres from the beach.
They secured the sale after just one Saturday morning inspection, and the paperwork all signed within just nine days.
It sold far quicker that the lengthening median 37 days on market in the coastal eastern suburb.
Malabar has seen a string of big money sales which has pushed the median price to its record high, currently sitting at $2.35 million.
The suburb record price has stood at $4.38 million since 2016.
Inspectees of the Longmire's were told they were hoping for around $2.75 million.
Having paid $1.7 million in 2011, shortly after Longmire was given the top coaching job, the house has been extensively renovated, with typical beach themes of blue and white running inside and outside the home.
The couple moved from Melbourne where Longmire played for North Melbourne, with whom the Swans play Sunday afternoon at Etihad Stadium.
They resided in Marrickville and Clovelly before heading to Malabar.
Their two level, four bedroom home features upstairs master retreat with lounge and study space opens to a balcony with ocean, bay and headland views.
Internal renovations came in 2013, then the pool and cabana last year.
They also secured approval for a potential new $1.1 million, three level, five bedroom home.

Longmire, a premiership winning coach in his second season in charge, has got big property shoes to fill if he wants to compete with the property endeavours of the former Swans coach Paul Roos in the coastal eastern Sydney property market.
Roos, who coached Sydney from 2002 to 2010 before handing the reigns over to Longmire, peaked in South Coogee selling for $5.4 million in 2014 following his decision to head to Melbourne.
Many of Swans coaches have owned around the eastern suburbs.
Ricky Quade, who was the inaugural coach after South Melbourne relocated to Sydney in 1982, has remained an active owner. His most recent acquisition was $1.9 million at Bondi Beach.
With a five year contract Tommy Hafey owned a house in Bronte in the mid-1980s; Rodney Eade was at Randwick.
Kevin Sheedy never owned, but rival AFL team coach, GWS's Leon Cameron sits high on the property ladder having spent $3.48 million in Hunters Hill. 
Longmire is from Corowa, the NSW-Victoria border town and his wife, Shelley is from nearby Mulwala.

Renovations came in 2013, with the most recent addition coming late last year when they added a rear solar heated swimming pool and poolside cabana.
They also scored approval for a new three level, five bedroom home, which comes with the sale.
The estimated costs to build the home submitted to the council is just over $1.1 million.

The listing has been nearly two years in the making.
In 2016 there was an off market offering, however no official listing materialized.
Longmire will be no doubt eyeing the street record, which currently belongs to his star-studded midfielder Luke Parker, who paid $2.6 million for a five bed home with a swimming pool last year.
Longmire took over from former Swans boss Paul Roos after the 2010 season having been a coach at the Swans since 2000, a year after his 11 year career at North Melbourne came to a close.
In his last game as a player he won his only 1999 AFL premiership.
Success came quicker in his coaching career, winning the 2012 premiership in his second year in charge.

Evans, who has recently released his new book Low Carb, Healthy Fat, bought the home in 2013 with Robinson, who he wed in a secret farmyard ceremony last year.
The couple own a property nearby where they are currently building their next family home having paid $1.27 million for the three bedroom 1960s home and secured $960,000 building plans.

Malabar is somewhat of a hotspot for chefs, with former MKR judge Colin Fassnidge owning in the suburb.
Evans also owns a 10 hectare Round Mountain acreage near Pottsville in northern NSW.
Inland from Hastings Point, the estate that cost Evans $1.2 million in 2014, has a three bedroom home with two lounges and a traditional timber kitchen.
Evans moved to Sydney with his brother David and their business partner David Corsi and began the successful Hugos chain in Bondi in 1996.
Then in 2000 they opened Hugos Lounge in 2000 then Hugos Bar Pizza in 2004, both in Kings Cross. They opened Hugos Manly in 2008.
His first move into TV was in 2001 for the LifeStyle Channel's 'Home Series' which he co-presented with Brendan Moar and Shannon Fricke.
Since 2010 Evans has been a judge on My Kitchen Rules with co-host Manu Feildel.
