OSK unveils AURA, the latest stage in Southbank's $3.5 billion Melbourne Square precinct

National developer Time &amp; Place appears to have settled on a design for its long-anticipated Potts Point project.

After several years of back and forth with local council and the NSW Government, the developer, which has spent close to a decade targeting the former The Chimes site on Macleay Street, has now progressed its plans.

Following a concept design submission last year by SJB, Time &amp; Place has lodged a full State Significant Development Application with the NSW Government, this time for a scheme designed by Kerry Hill Architects.

The 16-storey proposal includes 44 apartments, 21 of which will be build-to-sell. These will comprise 19 three-bedroom apartments and two four-bedroom penthouses.

More than 50 per cent of the development will be dedicated to affordable housing, with 23 one- and two-bedroom apartments delivered in line with the NSW Government’s Housing SEPP.

Kerry Hill Architects said the proposal is driven by a strong response to place.

“Our proposal for a new residential building for Potts Point in Sydney is driven by a deep consideration of place,” the practice said in its submission.

“This operates on multiple levels, including a landscape approach that reinstates endemic flora of the Sydney peninsula and provides a ground-floor garden for residents, reconnecting the site to its pre-European history. A brick podium further strengthens this relationship to context, integrating planting and fine bronze detailing that references the predominant material language of Macleay Street.”

The three-level podium will be topped by a communal resident space, featuring a covered pool designed to receive direct afternoon sun in winter, a neighbouring reflection pool, dining and event areas oriented to maximise sunset views, and an outdoor exercise zone.

“The tower steps back in a series of gently curved volumes that reference the rich Art Deco context of Macleay Street,” the architects said. “Carefully calibrated vertical fins frame the views while providing privacy and a sense of refuge.”

Late last year they completed&nbsp;The Queensbridge in&nbsp;<a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developments/southbank-vic-3006">Southbank</a>, a mixed-use tower with 353 apartments and a hotel. They are currently selling Park Modern, 246 apartments near the famous Botanic Gardens in South Melbourne.

The developer has approval for The Burke, a mixed-use project in&nbsp;<a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/glen-iris-vic-3146">Glen Iris</a>&nbsp;being delivered in partnership with Woolworths. The 60 apartments, positioned above a new Woolworths supermarket, are expected to launch in the coming months. <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/develotek">Develotek</a> is joining the likes of TOGA, Deicorp, and One Global Capital, betting on a boom in Five Dock ahead of the 2032 mooted opening of the Five Dock Metro Station.

Develotek, which is currently developing Bianca on the Drummoyne waterfront and has plans approved for a tower in Chatswood, has filed a State Significant Development Application for a <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/new-apartments/79-81-queens-road-five-dock-nsw-2046">two-building project in the evolving Kings Bay precinct</a>.

The buildings, one more boutique just five storeys and the other 26 storeys, will rise from an 3,158 sqm site across&nbsp;79–81 Queens Road and 2–8 Spencer Street, will home 134 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, above ground-floor retail and five basement levels of parking.

A key component of the proposal is the inclusion of 15 per cent of residential floor space as in-fill affordable housing, unlocking additional height and density under the Housing SEPP.

At the upper levels, the tower façade has been conceived using a modular system to support prefabrication and reduce construction waste, while improving build efficiency. Ascot’s Racecourse Road continues to be a hive of activity for Brisbane developers.

Following Fortis and GRAYA, which are both preparing new projects along the key strip connecting Kingsford Smith Drive and Eagle Farm Racecourse, local developer <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/skyhold">Skyhold</a> is the latest to lodge plans for its own development.

The six-bedroom Malabar home, bought in 2017, shortly after Cummings was named the head trainer at Godolphin, has been listed through Raine &amp; Horne Bondi Beach agent Hannah Bouskila.
“We’ve loved living in this house, watching the children grow up these past few years,” Cummings said.

Racing royalty James Cummings lists Malabar home to move near stables

Legendary horse trainer Lloyd Williams has re-listed his Mount Macedon horse training property, Macedon Lodge, after it closed its doors late last year.
Williams, who was once one of the country’s most prominent thoroughbred owners, has the majority of his horses now domiciled with Ireland’s famous horse training family, the O’Briens.
The 300 acre state-of-the-art facility has been the training ground of three of his six Melbourne Cup winners.
Efficient, Green Moon and Almandin were all trained by Williams at the complex.
There's been a fourth Cup winner trained out of the property. Etherereal, who won the 2001 Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup was trained by Sheila Laxon.

"Macedon Lodge has been an extremely successful venture into which we have put countless hours and many millions of dollars," Williams said.
"Given the complex has produced in excess of 20 Group 1 winners including the winners of Australia’s greatest races, the Melbourne Cup, Caulfield Cup, and Sydney Cup, and been home to champion horses such as Green Moon, Almandin, Fawkner, Zipping, and Efficient, you would have to say that it has been time and money well spent," Williams added.
"Over the last 14 years I have lived at Macedon Lodge and supervised everything but more recently I have found it impossible to devote the time and energy required."
"I am on the verge of 80 (and) that’s the reason why I am selling it,” Mr Williams told The Australian.

Horse trainer Lloyd Williams relists Macedon Lodge

Victory Lodge, the Warwick Farm stables of the Golden Slipper-winning trainer Clarry Conners and wife Maree has sold prior to auction.
All four of Conners Golden Slipper winners, Tierce, Burst, Prowl and Belle du Jour, were trained at the stables. 
The couple, who live on site at the property, no longer has enough horses to fill the 23 stable complex. He says he's down to about 14 to 15 horses at a time.

It is a four bedroom villa within the Mirage complex.
It comes not long after the couple added a further two smaller villas in the compound, paying $1.7 million each for the two bedders.

Legendary horse trainer Lloyd Williams lists Port Douglas holiday home

Leading jockey Kerrin McEvoy, who won the Melbourne Cup on UK horse Cross Counter yesterday, has said he will put his winnings towards a bigger house for his family.
The race was worth a prize pot of $4 million, with McEvoy getting four percent, so around $200,000, which might cover half the deposit if he is looking to upgrade from his Sydney home.
McEvoy owns a house in Randwick (above) with his wife Cathy and four kids, who he promised there will be a swimming pool in their new digs.
“I promised my four kids a swimming pool. And Cathy and myself have been looking around for a bigger house," he told Channel 7 after the race.
“I said to one of the Herald Sun reporters yesterday that if I won I would buy Cathy a new house, so look out.”
McEvoy paid $3.45 million for a three bedroom, 1880s home in 2010 in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, but it became a $1,300 a week rental in 2015.

Melbourne Cup winning jockey pledges to spend winning on new house

Racing NSW has purchased the historic Castlereagh home of the legendary trainer Bart Cummings.

The approximately 137-acre property near Windsor/Richmond in the Sydney Basin has been owned by the Cummings family for three generations.

The farm featured three houses, including a homestead, an office, three stables, irrigation infrastructure, as well as shedding, grain storage, 67 day yards, round yards and a 1000 metre sand-based exercise track.

Cummings, who passed away in 2015, is regarded as one of Australia’s greatest ever race horse trainers and is particularly noted for training 12 Melbourne Cup winners.

Inglis Rural Property agent Sam Triggs marketed the property to domestic and international thoroughbred groups, including high profile trainers and breeders.

Racing NSW Chairman, Russell Balding, said the purchase will be a valuable asset to the horse racing industry.

“Naturally we sought to keep this historic property in the industry’s ownership,” he said.

“It has enormous opportunity for the NSW Thoroughbred Racing Industry including the establishment of a Racing Academy which will not only be used for the training of jockeys, trackwork riders, stablehands but for all racings workforce.

Dean Shannon, the former Ladbrokes Australia CEO, has had an affiliation with horses, and not just through his work.
The keen horse enthusiast and wife Kelly, who shares his love of horses, recently sold an equestrian properties in the Gold Coast hinterland, and is now seeking to sell another in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
The 42 hectare Sunshine Coast property in Maleny is one of Australia's most impressive equestrian facilities, located an hour from the Doomben race track.
When Shannon paid $7 million for the property in 2009, he changed the name from Tengarra Park to Montana Park. 
The stable complex is the focal point.
