Melbourne developer Spacious Group has completed Voyage Altona, one of the closest new apartment developments to Altona Beach.

Off the plan purchasers have started moving into the 49-apartment project on Pier Street, with the remaining move-in-ready one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments starting from just over $500,000.

Display apartments have now been fitted out, allowing prospective buyers to inspect the completed residences by appointment.

Gold Coast City Council has approved Lýon Residences, a 32-level tower that will deliver 178 two and three-bedroom apartments across a prominent corner site at 8-10 Acacia Avenue and 25-27 Oak Avenue.

The approval comes as developers continue to invest in premium lifestyle-driven apartment projects on the Gold Coast, where owner occupiers are increasingly prioritising amenity as much as apartment size and location.

Homecorp Founder and CEO Ron Bakir said Budds Beach provided the ideal location for the company's latest luxury apartment project.

Iwan Sunito's vision for a landmark mixed-use precinct in Sydney's Inner West has taken a major step forward, with approval granted for the $1.9 billion Five Dock development first unveiled earlier this year.

The approved scheme by <a href="https://www.apartments.com.au/developers/one-global-capital">One Global Capital</a> will deliver an 80,500 sqm mixed-use precinct comprising 840 apartments, integrated hotel accommodation, commercial and retail space, alongside publicly accessible open space designed to create a new destination for the growing suburb.

"This is a significant milestone for One Global Capital and for the future of housing delivery in Sydney," Sunito said.

"The Housing Delivery Authority was established to identify major housing projects capable of delivering meaningful supply more efficiently, and we are delighted that Spencer Street has been recognised as one of those projects.”

He said the declaration reflected the rapid progress achieved since acquiring control of the site.

"In less than seven months we have progressed from taking control of the site to securing entry into one of the NSW Government's most important planning pathways. It reflects the experience of our team, the strength of our consultant group led by Urbis, and our long-term commitment to delivering transformational projects that contribute to Sydney's future."

When the project was revealed earlier this year, Sunito described the opportunity as one of the strongest development sites he had worked on.

"The proximity to the water, and the golf course opposite, is unlike any other part of Parramatta Road. We have a unique position and view corridors over the water that makes this one of the best sites I've worked on."

The development has evolved since its initial announcement, with the approved plans increasing the residential component from the originally proposed 750 apartments to 840 homes while retaining the project's focus on creating an integrated neighbourhood rather than a standalone residential development.

The approval comes as Five Dock continues its transformation ahead of the opening of the Sydney Metro West line, with the new Five Dock station set to significantly improve connections between the Inner West, Parramatta and the Sydney CBD.&nbsp;

The precinct will also benefit from its proximity to the Parramatta Road corridor, nearby waterfront parklands and established retail and dining offerings that have made Five Dock one of Sydney's most tightly held Inner West suburbs.

Perth has turned the corner possibly, with the number of listings now sitting at less than this time last year, according to CoreLogic's latest report.
The property data firm says that the number of Perth's new listings has decreased by 7.8 percent to 4,233 and the total listings have declined by 2.2 percent.
Hobart has the highest decrease of total listings in the last 12 months.
The property data firm says that Hobart’s total listing has dropped by 23.5 percent to 1,693.

This is despite an increase of 8.8 percent in the number of new listings.
Brisbane is the only place that has reported an increase in total listings with a rise of 6.1 percent.

Perth listings ease off: CoreLogic

The Hobart property market continues to gain moment as buyers are noticing the potential of the Tasmanian property market holds, according to the latest report from PRDnationwide.
According to its report, Hobart Property Hotspots Second Half of 2016, as other cities around the nation are setting their sights on the peak of the market.
Hobart has kick-started itself from the doldrums, and is currently touted as the emerging property city in Australia.
The Hobart median house price has increased by 2.6% over only one single quarter to $395,000 in Q2 2016.
This growth is set to continue as not only central Hobart is garnering attention, but also the suburbs in greater Hobart are increasing in popularity due to their picturesque setting and proximity to the CBD.
“Hobart has strengthened its property credentials during 2016 by delivering stable growth parameters across the board,” said Tony Brasier PRDnationwide managing director.
“It’s set to build on this further into 2017 as Australia’s ‘quiet achiever’ city with potential. After flying under the radar for a while, it may now be Hobart‘s time to shine.”

Hobart's property market gaining momentum: PRDnationwide

The property data firm says that the average median price for a unit in Hobart is $290,000.
It also has the cheapest median price for houses with a house averaging at $367,500.

This is supported by a steady trend of units being constructed as well as volume of units being sold.
Hobart’s unit market is rising with new properties almost never sold at prices that exceed their potential resale value.
A unit the one at <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-apartment-tas-hobart-122158326" target="_blank">4/166 Bathurst Street</a>, Hobart (above) was sold for $416,000. This is $19,000 below the median price of Hobart units.
Similarly a two bedroom unit at <a href="https://www.realestate.com.au/sold/property-unit-tas-hobart-121867742" target="_blank">7/37-39 Campbell Street</a>, Hobart (below) was sold for $420,000.
